Starving, hysterical, naked, the Redeemers took in your depraved body and raised you to destroy the Demoni which gives rise to heinous fruits. But their creator, Dominatio, has made his move. In a monumental strike, he has slain his fellow god Sapentia and moves to strike down each of the ruling demi-gods, her children, after her. His repulsive Darkseed has erupted all over the world in festering hoards, turning entire civilizations into frenzied, rippling sea of madness and abominable monstrosity.

Now you must drag yourself from the depths of the ocean to the heights of the cerulean skies if you wish for life to continue on earth. You must drag what is left of your humanity through hell and plunge your sword deep into Demonotio's mangled heart.

"Story! Story! Story!" the voices of the children could be heard loud and clear as they clamored around a man so old it seemed he might burst into dust if one of them touched him.

"Alright, alright," he agreed begrudgingly. His voice was deep and gravely, and it seemed he croaked and growled his words more than spoke them. "Gather round the fire, where it is warm," he hobbled over to a large comfortable chair seated right next to the hearth and the children settled around his feet. [b]"Now don't get too close, I don't want your grubbby fingers touching me. And sit still," he growled.
"So a story is what you want, is it?" He muttered more to himself than to the children, yet the excitedly nodded their heads in response anyway. Apparently this was part of a routine that they did often enough where they knew they musn't speak outloud.

"A story. I know a story. Long, long ago," the elderly man's voice rumbled, eyeing each of the children somberly to create a sinister mood, "There were two gods." The children were watching the old man's face attentively, "One was inheritely good, and her name was Sapentia. She was beautiful, gentle, and kind. All the beings on earth loved her dearly because she loved them. But," he paused, raising his wild white eyebrows, his voice grew quiet, "there was another being! And this being was very evil. His name was Dominatio, and he hated the earth and lived in constant agony. Sapentia grew so very sad for Dominatio, for she loved every entity. She wept over the earth for him, and each tear was a small part of her soul. They each became a child, a demi-god that would rule over the ten kingdoms of the world. The demi-gods were benevolent beings, who treated the humans kindly. We flocked to their cities for safety, for out in the wild it was growing very dangerous. Dominatio, unlike the others, despiesed the humans. His rage festered within him, tearing his soul apart. His hatred became so great, that it physically manifested itself into terrible beings, horrifying creatures that could paralyze a man with fear. These monsters were hell-bent on destroying all the living things on the earth's surface. The monsters ravaged every creature they came across, slaughtering everything and feeding upon their flesh while their screams echoed across the land."

"That's so scary! Who will protect us?" a child chimed, hiding her terrified face so that only her wide eyes appeared from behind tense fat fingers.

"Shut up and listen!" the old man snapped fiercely. Silence fell over the group as they awaited his next words, wishing them forth with all their might. "Now," he mused finally, "Where were we? Ah, yes. The monsters!" he growled, lifting clawed hands above his head in the attempts to seem frightening. Behind him, the fire cackled, almost at him. "If Sapentia were to ever leave us," he continued somberly, lowering his hands and placing them on his knees so he might lean foward towards the children, "we would all surely be doomed--devoured by hoards of the monsters, tormented and mutilated by their constant clawing and the gnashing of their hideous teeth." He paused once more, to allow the terror to settle deep within the childrens' bones. "But, there are those that would sacrifice themselves to save us," he added finally, "there are knights who will rise up, warriors with extraordinary power, some say chosen by Serpentia herself, who are charged with protecting the world from the dark monsters."

"Is that true?" the young girl chimed again, clearly unaffected by the gruff old man's previous admonishments.

"Of course not!" he glowered, gnarled hand reaching over and cuffing the back of her head, "These are just fantasies, none of it could possibly be true! That's it! No more stories! Clearly you can't handle it without being swallowed up by the tales!" There was an audible groan from the children, as they focussed their disappointment on the youngest of them. The old man seemed to not notice their sorrow, and he abruptly stood and walked away, surprisingly spiretely for a man of his age, disappearing into the shadows.

Image
Twenty years ago, the world was plunged into discord with Dominatio's murdering of Sapentia, causing the onslaught of hordes of Demoni and festering of evil in the world. Dominatio is rampaging, spawning putrid children and even transforming regular humans into creatures themselves with the infusion of Demoni blood. He plans to rid the world of all other life, and intends on killing all 10 of Sapienta's children first. Three of these demi-gods and the kingdoms they lead have been swamped, two of the leaders killed, the last one has been missing ever since.

You play as a Redeemer, a warrior, both savior and monster. Redeemers are humans gifted with special abilities, allowing them and them alone to kill Demoni. What makes them different from all other citizens? They were recruited into the Redeemers--a last chance scenario only offered to those with no hope of redemption. Those who don't even have the strength to save themselves anymore. They were orphans with no mortal ties, wounded soldiers a moment from succumbing to death's icy grip, or criminals on death row. Each was given a dose of Demoni blood to ingest, and their soul was plunged into the depths of hell's darkness. Only 30% of the people return human. Those who are rejected by the Demoni's dark power, those who are weak of heart, desire, or will--are ripped to shreds in the soul, mind, and body. They become Abominations, monsters then claimed by Dominatio.

They Redeemers who awaken are able to destroy other Demoni after their transformation. They are given a weapon, armor, rank, and the organization becomes their family. They live what remains of their life from that day on completing quests. There are currently 56 Redeemers alive in the world. Furthermore, besides facing the threat of getting eaten alive by monsters, they also need to worry about becoming one themselves. If a Redeemer overexerts himself, he can become an Abomination, you see.

At this point in the story, all of the Redeemers must report to the nearest recruiter. There is one in each kingdom. You are situated in the largest sect, the kingdom of Litas lead by the god of industry, Litatio. This is an empire acclaimed for its strength and led primarily by humans, though there are despised city elves amongst their ranks. It is considered the center of the world, and little is known about other parts, even little is known about the other kingdoms by you. You are traveling to a ballroom in Vincere, the capital of Litas and a highly aristocratic haven. Only humans are permitted to enter Vincere's gates, and Redeemers are frowned upon as they are part Demoni. The Demoni haven't reached Vincere, and the ignorant humans have even gone so far as to convince themselves that neither the gods nor their children exist, therefore making Redeemers all cons who prey upon the weak of mind, naturally.

You will meet Litas' highest ranked Redeemer, though you do not know why. In reality, he will send you and your fellow warriors off on a nearly impossible mission. You will travel out of Litas' gates and into the kingdoms of other demigods in attempts to save the world from monsters while you try your hardest not to become one yourself. The rest shall be history.

Hello there! Welcome to the roleplay led by your faithful narrorator (Averagebear) and my co-gm-and-founder, onetrickpony. I want to spend a little bit of time addressing the universe this is in as well as how the roleplay will be run. The World (appropriately named, I know) is set in a distant past in a distant dimmension, filled with strange races and creatures and varying cultures. Though it strangely parrelels an earthly midevil feel, it's obviously not quite the same, what with gods and monsters running amok. Think almost Lord of the Rings or Oblivion if you need direct comparisons, but there will striking differences. There is no magic, per say, and while the Redeemers do posses special abilities, no one can conjur up fire or use telepathy.

In this roleplay, the story will be feed to you via me. I'll be the narrorator playing NPCs as well as Demoni as well as explaining the setting and chugging the plot along. Essentially, you'll be nearly as blind as your character, which I find rather exciting. We have a long story arch as well as quite a few twists and turns to throw at you and I assure you that you shall not be bored throughout this. I will play one character, a little girl named Nica who will guide your characters on their quest around The World. She'll tell the troupe (of about 10 Redeemers, mind you) what she knows about each land and demi-god along the way. Basically, you should just worry about iterracting with one another and focus on character growth, as the rest is up to me! It'll be almost like playing a video game only with considerably more writing.

The roleplayers will be picked based on their character's potential input rather than a first-come-first-serve basis. After you submit your character, onetrickpony and I will review it with one another and then give you constructive criticism before you will be accepted into the roleplay. If a person becomes inactive or their character dies, we will fill the slot with another capable applicant that'll be switched into the party. So if you aren't accepted at first, just be patient, my child.

Image
When Redeemers are created, they fall into a certain class. Their class sign is embroidered on their uniform in some place, whether hidden or out in the open. Furthermore, in each class, they will become either a defensive or offensive combatant. This is decided by their motive for becoming a Redeemer. Should they have become one for either revenge or to protect certain individuals, they are offensive. Should they have done so under the intentions of being able to continue living or to save their soul, they are defensive.

        TANK
        Image
These men and women come back from the induction ceromony practically twice their original size, shooting up in height and bulking up with muscles. They're typically in the front line in a battle. Both offensive and defensive tanks give up agility in order to harbor their powers. They may have uncanny strength, generally wielding weapons like giant two-handed swords, axes, and hammers, a single deafening blow does tremendous damage on the field, though it takes them twice as long as other combatants to swing their mighty weapons. There is a legend that one warrior once took off the heads of twelve Darkseed with one swing of his mighty sword. Tanks are able to withstand unbelievable amounts of damage without falter, blows that might normally hack a person's limb off doing no more than graze their super-strengthened skin. Opponents end up feeling like inadequate children in the face of their mighty strength. Their skin has hardened to something like a shell, and most blows are deflected right off their hides.

      SENSERS
      Image

Individuals who awaken as sensers almost always come to screaming, tearing at the offending orifices. Their senses become hyper-sensative, and some misunderstand their abilities as psychic because they can read others so well. While a Senser is tapping into the power of one or more sense, they often lose the ability of another sense. For example, a Senser using increased hearing might go blind for the duration that it is in effect, or perhaps a Senser who has activated their sight might be unable to feel. All Sensers have very low defenses, so they tend to stick to ranged weapons such as cross-bows. Their near psychic ability on the battle feild is absolutely necessary, for one blow might wound them fatally. Luckily, they exist as ghosts on the feild, staying back and if a creature were even able to get close to do an attacked they are often able to avoid blows with intense concentration long enough to take an enemy down with a well placed arrow through the eye.

    MANIPULATORS
    Image

The eerie contortionists of the bunch, manipulators can bend and break their bones to acheive unnatural movements with their body. Allowing for strange movements and unique battle techniques, they can often move their arms as gellotinous tentacles. These moves are typically unheard of and hard to predict, giving them an advantage in the battle field. This is a high energy consumption, so sustained movements aren't possible, and there is a high risk of becoming an Abomination if you were to push your powers too far. Some manipulators are able to move their body in such a way to give increases to attack potential. There is a legend of an warrior who is able to move their sword so quickly that it seems to ripple before her opponents--they are never able to see it in order to deflect it, as it skillfully moves around any defensive moves that could deflect it. This cateegory is able to avoid attacks very well by breaking their body, contorting away from attacks. If a bone were to be crushed by an enemy, it could quickly repair itself with a cost to their energy levels.

MAGNIFIERS
Image

These warriors have an interesting ability to overexert a certain humanistic quality. A magnifier might be able to regenerate all wounds- an extension of the human's natural way to heal over time. They are lacking in strength and are usually not heavily armored, but their ability usually makes up for it. When magnifying, they take significant blows to other areas. If they were to be moving exceptionally fast, they might become exceptionally weak and a single bow may be fatal. Some magnifiers have been known to reattach cut off limbs, move at the speed of light, jump extremely far and high.
PARASITICS
Image

One out of twenty Redeemers become what is known as a Parasitic (meaning there's only two in the world). These individuals were more effected by the Demoni blood than their companions, their soul having turned into an Abomination for a split second before they somehow had enough strength to drag themselves back to humanity. Upon returning, the person's weapon comes already attached to their body, though there has never been a projectile weapon- only swords and hammers and such. The Parasitic learns to retract said weapon back into the original body part and with a short amount of time, is able to switch back and forth at will. The effected body part (usually an arm) is noticeacably crystallized in appearance and touch. Upon awakening from the induction, the Parasitic is in extreme, blinding, excruciating pain and this stays with them for the rest of their lives. They simply learn to harness the pain, enduring the steady torture. Either that, or they kill themselves. Yes, these beings possess unheard of self restraint if they're able to function in society while undergoing such phsyical abuse. Strangely enough, Parasitics don't become Abominations easily. It's as if after having already tapped into it, they're able to control their limits and keep themselves from spiraling downward.

Here are some things to take into consideration when creating a character!
RANK: The rank of a Redeemer is actually fairly important. They are given a number between 1 and 56 (the number of Redeemers there are) based on how many Demoni they've killed. Both respect and ridicule is dished out because of a person's rank. You can't make your character anywhere from 1-10 and I don't want everybody crowding in the teens either. Besides, a rank isn't determined by ability, merely by how many you've killed. It's a deceitful number.

RACE: While there are many races in The World, you can choose to be either elven or human. In the kingdom of Litas, you find what you might call "city elves" which are very different from their forested brethren. Elves are taller and thinner than humans, usually more graceful as well. They almost always have light eyes and the typical long ears, though their hair and skin color may vary as opposed to the elves out in the wild who almost always have fair skin and hair. Elves in Litas are treated poorly, not even allowed to enter their kingdom's capital of Vincere without direct orders from the imperium. Humans dominate here, though they are frowned upon in mostly everywhere else, spare two other kingdoms. They are shorter and stockier, though by no means beefy as an ogre or dwarf-ish.

MOTIVATION/ DEFENSIVE VS OFFENSIVE: Your motivation is what decides your type (offensive or defensive). Explain why you became a Redeemer. If it was to save your life or soul, you are defensive. If it was out of vengeance or to protect particular people, you are offensive.

EXPERIENCE: We should have characters ranging from a veteran to a newbie, I feel. Some of you may have never encountered a Demoni before! Some of you may have only killed Demoni but never an Abomination.

WEAPONRY: There are only swords, axes, hammers, maces, daggers, bows, and cross bows. There aren't any guns or staffs. Just run of the mill, metal/wood weapons. Their power comes from their Demoni blood, not their tools.

REPUTATION: How the Redeemers are treated is completely determined by their location and who they're talking to. Some see them as saviors, some as fakes, some as monsters.

KEEP IT INTERESTING: Toss out something unexpected at me! We love interesting characters we've never seen before, so lay it on us if you can.

Echondra Charlemagne Crush sat in her seat with a bored look on her face, feet propped up on her desk and hands clasped around the back of her neck. The whole period, she'd taken to leaning in her chair as far as she could before the feeling of "I'm about to fall" would hit. Up in the front, the uptight specimen that was the teacher for her class (Crescent Moon Class). Ford droned on and on and on about something that Echo wasn't listening to anyway, instead just contemplating how deeply bored she was and pondering on why her professor would ever choose such an odd hair style. The people certainly didn't come normal here at Shibusen. Then again, Echo was hardly one to talk. She'd been here for three years and had yet to begin her search for a partner, making her a virtually useless, hyper aggressive, overly confident twit. Why was she even here anymore? Without a weapon, she couldn't do missions, and it was clear that she was hardly interested in learning the written lessons. She huffed. Perhaps she should just bully someone into being her partner. Was that even possible?

"Okay, class is dismissed. You have a mock exam tomorrow." Ford squeaked, and made an hand gesture beckoning the students to hurry out of his expansive teaching room. Despite not liking the whole learning bit, Echo had to admit that it was a nice room. It was like a lecture hall made from the gods. Echo yawned exaggeratedly, reaching her arms up to the ceiling and leaning dangerously far in her seat, all complete with the typical sluggish groans a yawn induces. She kept one eye open, peeping at her teaching to make sure he had noticed her very open display of disproval of his lessons. Perhaps he'd get the hint and stop being so damned dull. It was only once she'd seen the grown man roll his eyes at her that she grinned. Now, time to get out of this dum-

CRACK! Suddenly Echo found herself on the floor, her chair in pieces around her. Maybe she'd gone a bit far. "Aw, man." she said, rubbing her now sore rump and cringing. "What's with that? You guys should pay for some better quality equipment, Ford-chan!" she called rudely. The man sighed. "Don't call me Ford-chan... and please get out of my classroom, Echo, before you break something else. I beg you."

'Soul Resonance'
'Soul Resonance'
Akane could feel her wavelength synchronizing with her partner's, Luka. Luka's wavelength slammed into her like an invisible wall, dirt was digging up her heels as she stood her ground. Her hand secured its place on the bow her fingers holding Luka like this was a daily thing in their schedule. An arrow materialized on the bow taking its place waiting to be held. Akane's eyes secured on her target in the dark of the night, wind blowing rattling the trees a thin white light shone from the moon. The opponent appeared on the City's top 100 souls wanted, his name is Jack The Ripper. A flash of metal would appear every now and then when he ran through the moonlight then into the shadows. 'Akane! Stop day dreaming and lock on him already. Soul Resonance won't hold up forever twerp!' Luka's voice sounded digital and adding to his frustration it could have captured Jack The Ripper just by him screaming. "Chill Luka, I'm going to be the greatest Meister like Kid! I just need to wait until he gets into the light....NOW!" She drew back the arrow until the bow pressed against her numb finger threatening to chop it off.

'Lock on Target. 3....2- S-Stop, heehee that tickles..Luka..The soul..'
Aken slurred on her bed, thrashing her body from side to side at her partner's touch. "Stop it, we need to get the soul. The soul..." Her mind blocked out the real world and returned to Dreamland. Everything you ever wanted happened in Dreamland so why would she want to go back to the Realworld?
"AKANE! AKANE! Wake-up!" The farther she got into her World the less she heard Luka's voice, this must have what Alice felt falling. Lost into another World forgetting the other. 'This is a nice feeling, falling into a dark abyss. It feels cool and the liquid is so realistic, I'm drowning!!! No! Snap out of it, but this is water!' Akane sat up with a coughing fit, spitting out water on her blanket. She looked around and on her bed was an empty bucket and tiny pools of water sinking into her comforter. Her head looked over to her clock on her bed-side table, the green number blinked at her, ' 12:40 '

**************

Luka slapped his panda alarm in frustration, it was a panda on it's two feet holding a sign showing the digital time. He opened one eye and eyed the time blinking on the purple sign, ' 5:30 '. The panda clock wasn't an item you would find in his room but it was a gift given to him by Akane as soon as they moved into the apartment. He swung his legs over the side and dragged his feet to the bathroom the cool tile froze his toes. Luka brushed his teeth, then removed his clothes eager to get into the shower. Hot water splashed onto his body as he conditioned and dozed off in the shower. After a few minutes of resting his head he grabbed a towel and walked back into his room. A quick change and shoes put on he glanced at the time, ' 6:45 '. Before making breakfast he passed through Akane's room, he opened the door and watched her motionless figure. She was mumbling non-sense about [b]'Soul Resonance'[b/] and defeating Jack the Ripper. "How will you defeat him if he's already defeated?", he walked into the kitchen and boiled water for Noodles. Curious, he walked back into his Meiser's room and glanced at her alarm clock, "I forgot to change her time, it's off by an hour and five minutes. Better wake her up." He walked a short distance to the bed and shook her from the shoulders, "AKANE! AKANE! Wake-up!".

Luka saw her slur then go back into dreaming, he sighed and went back to the kitchen to attend to his food. After pouring the hot water in his Noodle Bowl he went to the bathroom and searched for a bucket. He filled the bucket with ice cold water, thinking it was too much he dumped half of it out and added hot water to even it out. He dragged the bucket into her room and with a sudden movement he flipped it upside down pouring from the face down. He watched with amusement at Akane's reaction, he saw her open her eyes and ran out into the kitchen. Hot water burned his skin as he clumsily handled the cup running to Shibusen. He slowed down glancing back to see if she followed, halfway to school he heard a roar like a dragon and almost choked on his noodles.

He was out and thought he would be the last when he heard the crack of Echo's chair. He laughed. "Wow, to bad you missed the desks behind you." He said with a laugh and left. The teacher was grumbling and he knew. The teacher held so dearly to his expensive clasroom. He chuckled at the thought of him starting to yell when they were out. He sighed. "I need a damn meister." He said to himself. He checked the missions. "Hmmm, lets take an easy one if we can." He said to himself. He took up an easy mission. A human ate an innocent soul and is now wanted. It's always like that. He new that he could take on one both can't take on more without a meister.

Charles was still fast asleep when he felt a hand on his back try to shake him awake. He let out a grunt and turned his head without opening his eyes. "Charles," he herd a voice call out to him "wake up, we need to get to class or we're going to be late." the voice said. He recognized that voice from anywhere, there was no way to miss it. "Come on Cherise." he responded in a grumble. "I can afford to miss one day of school." He heard her huff and continued to shake him awake. "Cherise....please just get out of my room." he said with an annoyed tone. "What are you talking about?" Cherise asked. Charles opened his eyes and found himself alone with Cherise in an empty classroom. "Oh.......right." Charles thought out loud.

He stood up and walked out of the room without saying a word. "Hey!" Cherise called out as she ran after him. "If youre not busy for lunch, I brought a few sandwiches that we could enjoy together." she said smiling. "I could eat." Charles responded. Cherise lit up at his answer, "Its a date then!" she said excitedly. "I never said that." Charles responded raising a finger. "You just asked if I wanted a sandwich to which I responded with a 'yes'." Cherise crossed her arms and let out a sly smile. "Say what you want," she said "but we are going to enjoy a nice lunch, just you and me."

She walked ahead without him to their next class. With her back turned Charles let out a small smile. "Should be nice." he whispered to himself as he started behind her.

Erika awoke at the sound of their alarm clock going off. It was sort of "old fashioned", as it wasn't like a radio alarm clock and it wasn't digital. While they did see the convenience of a radio digital alarm clock, they preferred their "old fashioned" alarm clock for the same reason why they preferred a lot of "old fashioned" things: It was what they had been raised with, so they used it. It wasn't like anything bad would come out of using old fashioned things, right?

They got out of bed and shut off their alarm clock. They went through their dresser, wondering what outfit they would wear today. Perhaps they should wear some yellow, pink, blue? Maybe even brown? Perhaps a more school-like outfit, or maybe a more "old fashioned" look. Whatever outfit they would wear, it would still be lolita like in some way, whether it be a big or small part of the outfit. They finally decided on a black and white dress with arm warmers, black shoes, and black and white stripped stockings. After taking a shower they put on the outfit and went out of the bathroom.

(( A.C., should Erika and Koganei live together? Seeing as how they're weapon and meister? ))

The class always seemed to bore him and it didn't help that Ford's voice was as dry and humorless as his teachings were. Edge du Monde kicked his feet up onto the desk, and rocked his chair slightly backwards as he folded the piece of paper containing studying guides. Concentrating on folding the paper into a perfectly balanced paper airplane, he only glanced up every now and then to make sure that droning Ford wasn't staring daggers in his direction. As he finished the last fold, he held his creation up into his line of sight and stared down the wing. If he threw it, he knew he'd be kicked out of class and punished later. Not that he really cared, he wasn't retaining any information the teacher was throwing their way, and focusing his attentions on something else was the only thing keeping him from dozing off. Edge's bright eyes scanned the classroom and he realized he wasn't the only one fighting to stay awake. Ford's classes were known to put you to sleep, until he slapped his ruler on your table and growled about how “useless” you were in the class. What was the point of classes without a partner? Whatever they were learning now was pointless, without the possibility of missions right? His stomach growled, flopping over at the thought of eating souls. Would he even get the chance?

As soon as Ford announced the classes dismissal, Edge grunted his approval. He glanced down at the paper airplane he still clutched in his hand, and frowned. Maybe he'd throw it off the schools' roof, and see how far it'd go? At least the class was finished and he could continue wandering around the school until he ended up on the roof or standing in front of the mission board. Without a meister, what was he anyway? It was like a plane without a pilot. Completely useless. Edge yawned, stretching his arms behind his head before peeking through slitted blue eyes at one of his classmates. The girl's yawn could've put anyone to shame as she threw her arms up wide and cheekily peered at Ford to see if he'd been paying attention to how boring the class was, he couldn't help but smirk. Pushing himself to his feet, Edge carefully folded the paper airplane and shoved it into his back pocket before stepping onto the steep steps leading out of the classroom.

CRACK! “Eh?” Edge spat, nearly jumping as the sound echoed through the classroom. Most of the students who almost climbed over each other to read the door stood anchored in their spots, turning to see Echo surrounded by pieces of her chair. The white-haired boy rubbed at his chest, the familiar feeling of flight-or-fight pounding against his chest. It wasn't unwelcome, and he felt pumped. He chuckled softly as Ford sighed, pushing Echo to leave before she broke anything else. As Max passed by him, he stood still for a moment. He felt slightly relieve that he wasn't the only meisterless person in Shibusen. It felt like it sometimes, when he watched pairs pick out their next mission and train together. “Damnit,” He grumbled, crossing his hands behind his head before stepping out of the class. Did anyone interest him enough to bother approaching them about a partnership? He didn't know. Compatibility was key, right?

Edge wandered the halls until he found himself at the mission board again. He watched as Max quietly picked one, and took a spot against the wall. There wasn't much he could do in the state he was in. He could try easy missions by himself, but he knew he couldn't fly without a meister. A plane without a pilot.

(( That's a catchy song. XD ))

As Professor Ford was talking about various subjects which most of the class didn't even listen to, Raven and Miuka sat in their chairs, waiting for him to finish. It wasn't like they weren't listening, in fact they were despite the fact that it was extremely boring, but still, it was something which they had to know. Miuka had read enough books to be familiar with most of the stuff that the professor was explaining, but there were still enough details to memorize.
Both knew that other people had labeled them nerds for this behaviour, but it had happened often enough that they had stopped laughing at them when the exam results were given out - both weren't necessarily ranked highest, usually Miuka was among the top ten, and Raven four or five spaces below her, but it was sufficient for them.
He exchanged a quick glance with Miuka, which nodded. They began to let their Souls resonate as they always did when they were bored, listening with four ears instead of two while exploring each other's thoughts about the class. No one would notice, they had trained way too long for it to be appearant, and although the teachers did not like them doing that, it only helped them.
They exchanged the memories of the class, sorted out unnecessary parts, compared what they had heard, and compressed what remained to a block of wisdom which was nothing more and less than what that whole class had been about until now. They then absorbed this bock into themselves, and stopped their Resonance. Professor Ford had not noticed a single thing.
The last minutes of his recitations never were really important, so exchanging what they had heard from him at these times was not necessary. Instead they leant back in their chairs and let the time pass.
"Okay, class is dismissed. You have a mock exam tomorrow", ended Ford his class. Sighing in relief, Raven and Miuka stood up and pushed their chairs below the table without any rush. They did not even bother pushing their way through the other students which were going for the door, instead they took their time picking up their stuff.
"It's time to go eating", noted Raven.
"Yep. I'm really hungry already", replied Miuka. It was just a superficial dialogue, not of interest to potential listeners, but it was a bit more for them. Raven knew perfectly that Miuka was hungry - he had read her thoughts just a few minutes ago - and Miuka knew that it was time to eat as well. But exchanging their thoughts in the old-fashioned way of talking was a funny thing to do after Soul Resonance, and it helped them return to their own selves. Not that they needed it, but it still was -
Crack!
Neither bothered to go looking, they both knew that it had been Echo. It wasn't the first time that this was happening to him, and they had both observed him when he was just a few millimeters from falling during the class.
"I won the bet", said Miuka grinning.
Raven grinned back. They then left the class together, going for the canteen.

Koganei had woken up early that day but thought it best that Erika get some sleep since he planned on one of two things happening the next few days, one being some good old-fashioned hard training, and two being some semi-difficult missions. He decided he was going to make Erika some breakfast today, he was making some apple pancakes, apple pie...well heating up the apple pie he made just a few days prior, and warming out the home-made apple cider to go with some fresh apples. He thought Erika might like the meal since everything...absolutely everything had apples in it except for his mourning tea... He heard Erkia's alarm go off and started to set the table putting all the food on to one plate, Erika's plate...he on the other hand was only having his mourning tea.

Yes Pichu they should live together...lol...after all isn't that how it is in the anime and the manga?

Luka sprinted up the steps of Shibusen two by two. Time didn't matter to the red-head it was a matter of whether he would learn something or not. He opened the doors and looked inside the halls. It was flooded by kids of different ages, hands in pockets he walked around looking for the main office. After circling the first floor for what seemed like an hour Luka moved onto the next flight until he reached the roof. 'Do you have to attend classes? Skip this and skip, sleep on the roof.' His illogical side spoke out just as he was about to go down from the stairs. On the bottom he hesitated, glancing back with another voice popped in.'Your late, you might get behind on work. Who knows there could be a test tomorrow.' There was the voice of his senses, a few more steps he took going down and he stopped.'Who cares?! It's your first year, use the ''I'm a newbie'' line. Works every time.' On his heels Luka turned and slowly walked up, opening the door leading to open air.
The roof wasn't a flat surface, it was pointed and painted a bright red color. He walked around the circular roof, there was barely enough room for him to lie down. Deciding there wasn't enough space he got up and looked down, his view showed the front of Shibusen. From a distance he could make out another red-head like him running like the wind. A light gust of wind blew blowing the stray strands of hair out of his face. Closer the moving object came and he could make out a feminine body. It didn't take a genius to find out that the running female was Akane Black. Leaning over the roof he waved a lazy arm toward her, it seems that she's too focused on the entrance door than see him moving. The clouds moved in the wind exposing the heavy rays of sunlight down on his body. Luka sighed and went back inside, hoping to not bump into his Meiser.

****

Akane Black was not the person meant for physical labor. Running to school resulted to heavy panting and steadying herself with one hand on the walls inside the school. The halls were empty but there were muffled words of teachers and students echoing in her ears. Amazed and still shocked in her enrollment to Shibusen she looked around inspecting every detail. Like any other student Akane and Luka should have started as freshmen, but her partner convinced her to sign up for the next year because of their age. She walked through the halls peeking in the doors every now and then. Coming to the end of the hall she saw a teacher with a lab coat typing away on his computer. Curious, she quietly snuck in the room. There were some students mingling in the room and it made her more self-conscious.
She walked toward the teacher and came to his side. He was still focused and didn't notice her until her hip accidently hit the desk, he stopped typing and looked at her from the side. "Your the new student, right? I was expecting your arrival before class not after. Wait here I'll get your schedule." He got up and walked over to a cabinet. His fingers danced through looking for her papers. Ford found it and gave it over to Akane. She looked down at the paper and 'Thanked' him.

Echo ungracefully leapt back up to stand on her feet again, sheepishly grinning as she did so. "Wow, too bad you missed the desks behind you." a sarcastic Maxime murmured from behind her. She simply shrugged, not bothering to respond with much enthusiasm. This was the typical rude behavior to expect from the young girl. She picked up her things (nothing) and dusted off her undirtied clothes, prepared to exit the room and search for anything interesting when that very thing appeared. A red headed girl bustled into the class room, speaking to the already preoccupied Ford about her apparent arrival. Echo could feel her eyes glimmer with curiosity.

"Oy!" she called out, still standing in the heap of chair pieces. "You new?" she asked commandingly, cocking a hip and staring the girl in the eyes. "Well, there's one thing a newbie has to know. That is that my name's Echondra Charlemange Crush. I'm the best meister this academy's ever seen." she had continued before the girl even had an opportunity to respond. Echo glared daggers at her teacher when he snorted from behind his desk, making it obvious his feelings towards the girl's arrogant statement. Echo carried herself with a certain nonchalant cockiness that was sure to unnerve anyone. She offered the other girl a smug grin, her chocolate eyes still gilttering with pride in her ridiculous introduction. "Welcome to Shibusen." she barked finally, stalking out of the classroom and scouting for something fun.

She decided to check the board. She'd taken a habit to checking it every single day, despite being partnerless. Nosy Echo couldn't help but pry into the affairs of the world through looking at the missions, and every time she'd see one she'd always think something along the lines of "If I had a weapon, I'd finish that mission in half the time with double to soul eating." and then walk away feeling more egotistical than before. Today was no different. As she approached the board, she saw the familiar figures of two of her classmates, Maxime and Edge. She eyed them with critically, as if assessing their worth. Like mentioned before, the mission board tended to bring out the more competitive side to Echo. She strut onward and peered at the listings ridiculously closely (she actually needed glasses) and sniffed indignantly. To an outsider, her behavior might have appeared suspicious or comical, but to Echo, she was just being awesome. "Eh, no biggie." she proclaimed, looking at a level 3 mission that was clearly out of her league. Okay, so she knew that wasn't true... but Echo couldn't not boast in this situation. She settled for bullshitting.

Edge didn't even need to strain his ears to hear the audible loud-mouths voice echo into the halls, as they shared many of the same classes and wandered around, he knew whose voice it belonged to. Most people couldn't understand how someone looking as normal as her could be so boisterously hyper, he smirked before running his hand through his white hair. No one in Shibusen was exactly normal by any standards, actually. There was no “normal standard” in the academy, even Kid—the principal of the school—was abnormally obsessed over symmetry, things like that would never escape him. His ears nearly twitched when another round of Echo's booming voice yelled at whoever she was talking to and he couldn't help but crinkle his nose. Best meister in the academy, huh? There wasn't anything he could remember her doing that was particularly noteworthy, definitely nothing cool enough to mention. Then again, neither did he. Scoffing under his breath as he stared critically at the board, he glanced down at Maxime then scanned the missions. Useless. Maybe he'd ditch trying to look for the “right” mission for himself, and wander on a higher platform of Shibusen to toss his paper air plane. Speaking of which, Edge pushed himself away from the wall he'd been leaning on, realizing he could've been ruining his creation.

“Lame,” He mouthed, shoving his hands deep into his pockets as he took a spot in front of the board. It seemed like Maxime was riled up to go on his own mission, so why didn't he choose one? Every day he tried to convince himself that he just wasn't interested on bumming around on lesser missions. Not that he was overly confident about taking higher level missions by himself. When he first enrolled into the academy, Edge's confidence was spilling over into cockiness and he proclaimed he didn't need a meister. It was only when he was allowed a higher ranked mission (with the intentions of teaching him a lesson), and failed miserably that he realized he'd been wrong. Not to mention that the relentless beating he endured wasn't something he was looking forward to. Eyeing some of the higher missions between lidded eyes, he scratched the back of his head and yawned into his hand.

This was when Echo stomped around him and peered a couple of inches from the board, ridiculously close. For a moment, Edge stood anchored there, hands out from his pockets when he'd been surprised at her shockingly unannounced arrival. He stared at her before following her gaze. She'd been staring at a level 3 missions, something that even he knew was beyond her league. Beyond his league. Those were missions he'd often dreamed of, where he could prance along juggling souls, and be completely satisfied that he wasn't just a thrill-chasing, starving weapon who'd never even tasted a soul. The thought made him frown, his stomach giving an empty lurch that beckoned for lunch. Anything.
“What're you, blind?” Edge remarked, motioning to how close she stood to the board. Maybe an inch closer and she'd have her face plastered against it. He couldn't help but peer closer to the mission she'd been looking at. “Level 3, ah? What's the point of grabbing one without a weapon?”

Echo swiveled around to face the boy who dared speak, her usually feathery white blonde hair seeming much more whip-like than before. She pursed her lips and narrowed her chocolate orbs on the eccentric male in front of her, seemingly just as uncaring (though considerably less belligerent & annoying) as she. She sized him in a way most people find intimidating just for the sake of trying to gain dominance, but it was to no avail. Finally, she decided to simply reply. "I'm not blind." she snapped "I just... wanted to..." she racked her mind for excuses and came up empty handed "...smell the papers." she lied quite obviously, her delivery and justification both being shaky. Knowing how lame she'd been without being told, she waved the conversation away with a loose hand gesture and roll of the eyes.

"Hey, listen here! I don't need a weapon! I'm perfectly capable of doing things by myself. In fact, I could probably do all of these missions in half the time with double the soul eating if I had a weapon." The words were automatic now because of how many times she'd said it in her head. She let her ramblings sit in for a while as she thought about things herself. Despite her constant claiming otherwise, she really needed a weapon. She was virtually useless now.And she was pretty sure Edge was meisterless. And she really wanted to do a mission. And perhaps he wasn't quite as much of a punk as she'd made him out to be. And maybe she could finally go on a mission because Kid-sama wouldn't be able to hold her lack of weapon against her. Her hard, accusatory gaze softened into a look of curiosity and yearning. She gulped at the thought of going out on a real life adventure.

"...Whya askin'?" she inquired, her aura switching almost instantly from one of a hyper-aggressive fighter to a deeply-curious girl. She arched a single sculpted brow and started twiddling her hair impulsively.

The first thing that Erika had noticed when getting out of the bathroom was the smell of various apple smells, the smell of apple pie is what they had noticed the most(But nothing was like they're mother's apple pies, but they had figured by now that nothing was like the things of everyones mothers) They went down the hall and into the kitchen and was slightly overwhelmed by the sweet smells of various apple products and was a bit surprised by all this. Seeing as how their weapon, Koganei, wasn't acting surprised, they assumed that he had made this wonderful meal, or at least knew or had something to do with it.

"What's the occasion?" They asked, being sure that it wasn't their birthday(They were sure that they hadn't told them about the day they had been born either) and didn't recall it being any holiday of any kind, unless there was one that they had not known about. Whatever the occasion might be, it was still a very wonderful meal, and Erika couldn't help but show a smile. Why wouldn't they? Their favorite food was pretty much being served in everything.

They didn't set down yet, even though they were very tempted to just eat up all the food on the plate on the table, they would rather not look like a pig by eating what might be Koganei's food.

As Cherise and Charles continued to walk, they noticed a pair of people arguing in front of the mission board. "What's going on there?" Cherise asked Charles quietly. "Who knows." Charles responded, "Probably fighting over something stupid, like misreading a situation." Cherise let the subject drop as the two continued to walk. As the pair neared the board, Cherise asked the same question she would ask everytime they passed by. "When are we going to start our soul collecting?" She asked. Charles responded with a sigh and gave his usual answer. "Well take on missions when were ready to do so."

"What does that even mean?" She asked as she stopped a few feet away from the other people who were arguing. "I know for a fact that were combat ready. We spend several days practicing. We know the procedures when dealing with Kishin, we even know the procedures for dealing with low level witches. So what exactly do we need to get ready for?" Charles turned around and stared her dead in the eyes, "Look," he said in a serious tone "I really dont know how to explain it, but if we were to take on a mission on our own without any experience, only bad things can come of it. Just trust me on this one, okay?"

"Well you are going to need your energy because we are either taking a difficult mission today or training much harder then usual..." Koganei said calmly, "Personally I would prefer the mission because that would be actual combat experience..." he finished by explaining before taking a sip of tea. "That is yours if your wondering..." he spoke as if he had not a care in the world, motioning to all the food on the table.

As Echo swivelled to meet his level stare, Edge didn't budge one bit. He wasn't sure if she was trying to intimidate him or not, with her pursed lips and narrowed brown eyes; he could almost picture her stomping her foot, with her hands on her hips but figured that would've been too girly. Meeting her leery gaze with his own curious spinning-blue eyes, he shoved his hands back into his pockets and felt the corner of his paper air plane. It was just waiting for be thrown, to catch on the wind and fly into the distance. Whoever this loud-mouthed girl was, she wasn't kidding anyone by eyeing higher level missions and announcing it'd be a piece of cake. For awhile, Edge just stared at her, squinting his eyes as if to obtain more information about her. Echo reminded him of himself when he first got here, raring to dive head first into whatever was thrown at him. Truthfully, he hadn't really changed much.
“Smell... the papers?” he responded slowly, before bursting out into boisterous laughter. It sounded weird. Clutching his now hurting stomach and the board in front of him to keep himself from falling over, he tried to catch his breath. Before he had the chance to say anything else, she waved her hand in front of his face to ward the conversation away.

Gathering himself up, Edge's shoulders slumped when Echo rolled her eyes and sputtered something about being able to finish the missions in half the time, and with double the souls. The thought made his stomach rumble angrily, and he could swear his mouth started watering. It was depressing how he'd never really succeeded on any of the missions. It wasn't that he wasn't skilled. When it came to hybrid transformations, he was pretty gifted, but his overconfidence and cockiness often got in the way of things. He wasn't one to think straight when adrenaline pumped through his blood. And there was no one around to tell him what an idiot he was being—... not that he wanted anyone calling him an idiot. Steeling his racked thoughts, he made a tutting noise before fishing out a flattened piece of paper in his pocket. It wasn't the paper air plane, but one of the many sheets he carried around whenever he was bored in class. He was surprised when he looked back up at her, her hardened gaze seemed to soften and he looked at her seriously. Edge held up the piece of paper face down in his palm, almost directly under her noise.

Sensitive ears twitching, he couldn't help but eavesdrop on the other two nearing the board. Obviously partners, as they sized up missions. One seemed to be hesitating about whether or not they were ready, and the other—obviously his type of buddy, was excited to get going on one. Jealousy wasn't really his thing, but if he had a partner... they could be on a mission right now.

“Be my partner,” he finally said, it wasn't nearly a command or an order. It was a serious suggestion. He wasn't the type of guy to wander around for a partner, he was too unfocused and lazy for that. Most couldn't wield him anyway, they didn't wanna fly or win enough. “Under one condition. Fold a paper air plane an' throw it from the roof, if it goes far enough, we can be partners.” The deal was strange enough, anyone who'd been in his class would know he often hefted paper air planes at the teachers and purposely earned a ticket out of class. It was his turn to grin toothily as he stuck his thumb up. “And we'll kick ass!”

Erika pulled up a chair and sat down at the table. They took a bite out of the apple pancakes and, of course, found them to be delicious.

"Well you are going to need your energy because we are either taking a difficult mission today or training much harder then usual..."

"I'd prefer a mission too, since training can get quite repetitious," They said in their usual monotone voice that made it sound as if the harder missions or training that their partner and them would be doing was not that important or interesting to them, which may have been the case, though Erika mostly always spoke like that, so unless the subject was about something they liked it was a bit hard to tell if they were really interested or not.

"While I am very thankful for the meal and not having to worry about food poisoning, what about you? Don't you need your energy too?" Erika questioned, it was more out of curiosity then actually being worried about their partner.

"So, a mission it is then..." he answered showing notably that he commented to what Erika said out of order which he did sometimes.

She stared at the boy in disbelief at first, checking to see if he was serious or not. He had stated it so bluntly that she'd only assumed it was some sort of sick sarcasm, but upon further inspection, it seemed he was serious. Echo felt her stomach leap up to her chest, dance with her heart, and plop back down. A smile grew on her face like a moon changing its phases, starting first as a very subtle smirk to, now, an opened mouth beam. "YEEEEEEAAAAAAAH!" She cried, leaping in the air and doing a victory fist, eyes bright and big. "Yesyesyesyes!" she continued her excited raving, but this time running away from her possible partner and down the hall. She made it all the way to the class room, still celebrating, and busted open the doors. "HEY, FORDY-CHAN, GUESS WHAT? I'M GONNA HAVE A PARTNER NOW." she hollered, snatching a piece of paper from the desk and sprinting back to the location of the mission board in very, very quick time.

She made it back to her partner in seconds. "Okay, let's fly this thing!" she roared, latching onto the boy's sleeve and practically dragging him up to the roof. They weren't alone, but they might as well have been in Echo's mind. Once up at the roof top, Echo finally took the time to slow her pace down, a nervousness creeping up her spine. Now it was time to concentrate. She had to make the best paper airplane the world had ever seen, otherwise she'd lose this one-time chance of getting a partner. A very serious face made Echo seem like an entirely different person, as mysterious and dark as some of the students here with troubling pasts and antisocial behavior. She seemed older, much older. A shaky breath issued from her pink lips, staring at the paper in her hands. She could do this.

She began folding the paper, hesitantly at first, at times second guessing whether the creases she made were the most effective, but as she continued, she became increasingly more self assured, each fold coming easily to her. Before long, she had made an honest to god paper plane. She stared at it a moment longer, cradling it like a baby, before whipping her head to peer up at Edge. Her gaze was intense, unusual on the playful girl. Instead of talking, she just nodded her head and slowly approached the edge of the roof, biting her lips. She held the plane in her hands and waited in that position for a while. This was it. This was her only chance. Nothing else mattered right now. A gust of wind rocketed out, and she instinctively let go of her precious creation, watching it come to life in the open sky.

It soared gloriously, gliding for what seemed like ages as it got picked up by the gusts of wind that seemed to go out of their way to help Echo in her efforts. It was almost as if the world was on her side this time. The wind blew from behind her, her hair billowing out in front of her and her skirt whipping wildly. She found herself leaning back so as not to get pushed off the roof as well, however tempting it might have been to take a chance to soar. The rational part of her brain reminded her that, unlike that paper plane, she could not fly. She noted this with slight disappointment. The feeling passed as the plane fluttered down to the ground, its lifespan having been tapped out. The euphoria dwindled into anxiousness once more as the wind stopped, leaving her hair back where it belonged, limp at her side. She breathed out once before turning around to look at Edge. She didn't know whether the plane had flown far or not because this was the first time she'd ever done such a thing. It was up to the white haired kid to decide whether the feat was impressive or not. Honesty twinkled in her eyes as she gazed longingly at the boy who would decide her future, her boastful charade having dropped by her feet the moment she entered the roof top. Naturally, it'd come back the moment she left again, but for now, she was simply a meister without a weapon and an abnormally large amount of determination.

"So, we kickin' ass together or not?"

As they were just looking for some place to sit down, suddenly Miuka hit raven lightly with her elbow. "Look out the window", she said, pointing at it with her head. Raven looked, to see a paper plane fly down from the roof. "Must be Edge..." he said. "He's the only person I know of that likes to fold paper airplanes."
"Well, it's an occasion to see him doing it outside of class, right?"
He shrugged his shoulders in reply. Then they sat down on a table.
"By the way, we need to get another mission after this - Professor Ford has told me that there are some good ones out today, and we have to fill our quote for this month."
Miuka glanced out of the cantina door, as the blackboard was near there. "Okay then... but let's choose an easy one, or go with someone. That last time was way too long, we barely got to sleep before returning to class."
Raven sighed. "Okay then, we'll see. Well, it's about time we get ourselves into a group for the harder missions anyway." He looked at his reflection in the spoon he was holding. "If anyone wants us, that is."
Miuka smiled. "If not, we can make our own group and see if someone wants to join in. We're not exactly the worst meister and weapon of our class."
"Maybe, but strength doesn't really matter. You have seen enough groups that are just a couple of friends, and we're not liked much." He said it in a cold way, knowing that it was a fact. They WERE not liked much - respected maybe, but not liked.

--

As they finished, they both stood up at the same time and brought their dishes back, before leaving and heading straight for the blackboard. Ford had been right, there were many missions of interest out today, and surprisingly few had been taken. They checked different parts, but found none that was really suited for them. many missions were good, but they were looking for something perfect, or close to that. And something like that ws not available. Too hard, too easy, not for their style, not enough rewards.

Akane ran out from the classroom and glanced at the empty hallway. Her sharp ears caught a few steps heading at the end of the hall and she ran after it. To her disappointment she turned and saw no one there but a board filled with papers. Curious she walked closer to the board, it had diferent colored papers with information. Akane chose a bright purple sheet and read the dark black print. It gave information about missions to capture souls, this was a first for her so she looked over to the level 3 missions. Mainly because it grabbed her attention of bright green papers, on her tippy toes she snatched one near the corner. Excited she walked over to the staircase and sat down, breathing deeply in and out from running she read the paper.
"What are you doing?" A strong, familiar voice asked her from behind.

Luka walked around her and leaned against the rail, his calculating eyes watched her trembling hands. Akane glanced up and her eyes looked like tiny stars were being reflected. "I...I'm looking at this...paper. I got it...from..there." At each pause she took another breath, Luka glanced back and being much taller than her read the sign [Missions] above the wooden board. The papers appeared to be color coded according to the mission level. His red eyes stared at the section with neon green papers, "It's for missions Akane, level 3 sounds like for Beginners. We would need higher if we want to take revenge." Illuminated stars grew dull as her eyes became glassy red orbs, her voice shifted as she looked down, "There's this girl, Echondra Crush. She says she's the greatest Meister of the academy." She stared at her shoes her hands crumbling the side of the paper. Luka almost took back the words, he knew the hatred, the rage, the resentment she had in those with Black Blood. Akane's own parents were killed with a killer possessed by Black Blood, she was so little hiding in the closet trying not to make a sound. "We need to ask for her help then, if she's the greatest she can help us train our wavelengths." In that second Akane looked up so quickly and started laughing it made Luka take a step back, his hip crashing with the rail.

Luka asking for help was like a toddler trying to rob a store. Impossible. "Luka! Do you remember our past? Do you? We were the greatest theives in the streets. We would rob and steal, the towns people gave us the nickname 'Phantom' for our strange disappearances right after. They never suspected two kids sleeping on the streets." Akane got up and stretch her arms, her stomach exposing just a little. Luka showed the faintest smile his eyes flashing a quick emotion Akane didn't recognize, "It was a crappy name too, I told you not to spread it." They shared a few minutes of the past, then as fast as it started it stopped. He took a few steps up the stairs and called back, "I think I know where they are, I passed Echo on my way down from the roof. She was with a guy, probably her Weapon." His partner nodded and put the paper in her back pocket, it stuck out showing a bit of green. Anticipation of becoming more powerful overcame her and slowly leaked into Luka as they headed up the steps.

Truthfully, the way that Echo stared at him made him think she might drive her fist straight into his face. The thought made him take a step back before he returned his own steady, unwavering look. Yelling at him might have been a normal reaction for such a ridiculous deal, but he stood his ground and took a deep, resonating breath. Edge was known for his sarcasm, but he was dead serious this time. It wouldn't have been cool to admit that his own heart flopped around, resisting its own urges to hammer against his chest. It seemed like forever, both of them standing off, before a brimming smile broke across Echo's face—turning into the biggest grin he'd ever seen, he couldn't help mimicking her. Coughing into his hand as she bounded into a victory leap, he closed his bright eyes before peeking over his fist. Before he had the chance to lead her off towards the roof, she bolted past him towards the classroom and he nearly toppled into the board. Catching his balance in time to hear her shout at Professor Ford, he snickered and nonchalantly adjusted the collar of his shirt. In no time at all, he stood facing her with her own paper clutched tightly in her hand. If he didn't know better, the piece of paper might've been something Ford was working on.

“Alright, let's go,” Edge retorted with contained enthusiasm, before Echo grabbed onto his sleeve and nearly sent him sprawling across the hallway, dragging him along towards her destination. As soon as he found his feet, he ran alongside her with a toothy grin plastered on his face. He ignored whoever else glowered in their direction, pointing and whispering under their breaths. Anyone who was partnerless was the talk of the school. Most kids had already paired off with friends or whoever else they got a hold of; those who hadn't were a rare breed apart from anyone else. Once they'd reached the roof, he slowed down alongside her and caught his breath. He had to admit that he was envious of her energy. Raising a flattened hand to his forehead to block the suns rays, he stared across Death City. This was the perfect place to be for anything—throwing paper air planes, meditating, or sneaking up higher on Shibusen to recklessly topple down it in pathetic attempts to fly. The wind blew encouragingly against them, almost whispering their cheers and he couldn't help but feel like he wanted to soar as well. When Edge looked back at Echo, he was taken aback at how serious her face was, how much older she looked. Maybe this was his chance, too.

The white-haired watched Echo fold the paper air plane, at first hesitant, but then confident and he couldn't help but smirk at her efforts. He wondered whether or not this was her first time making one, it sure looked like it. Edge was the only one who seemed obsessed over folding paper and hefting it off of any high place imaginable, most people dismissed his hobby as weirdness. When she glanced up at him, he nodded his head as if to say get-going, he was just as excited to see the plane in action as he was to see how his partner would do. Partner. It was as foreign a word to him as “grounded” was, but it felt right and he stared off into the distance as Echo stood up to the plate. The open blue sky seemed to welcome the plane as it soared into the air, out of Echo's hands, and into the gust of wind.

Immediately, Edge raced to the edge of the roof, easily swinging himself up onto the higher ledge that allowed him a better view of the careening plane. It cut through the sky, only teetering slightly to allow itself to turn with the wind. Holding up a hand to his eyes to shadow the sun, he whistled appreciatively and the familiar feeling of following the plane tugged at his steadily beating heart. He only snapped from his thoughts when the paper plane finally glided onto the ground, further than he thought the creation would go. This girl... He decided. Turning on his heel, he stepped off the higher platform surrounding the roof and stood in front of Echo, hands shoved deep into his pockets. For a moment, he frowned. Then he took one of his hands from his pocket, and held it out to shake, the frown transforming into a coy grin.

“Hell yeah! Let's get this ass kickin' started already.”

Echo gripped Edge's hand and shook with gusto, a huge smile spread across her face. Her handshake was just as overpowering as she was, much too strong and forceful for a girl of her size and appearance. Echo always seemed to surprise people when they'd first meet with her strength and personality. Most assumed that a normal, pretty looking girl would act as such so Echo tended to throw people off, with all the grace and poise as a wolverine. "WOOOOOOOO!" she cried, removing her hand from his and doing the robot, complete with the break down.

"It's just in time for tomorrow's mock exam! This will be the first one I've done." she said, face shining with delight "Er.. I mean, not that I'm inexperienced or anything. I could have if I wanted to... I just... never felt like it." she corrected, shrugging and crossing her arms in a terrible cover up. She paused for a moment of awkward silence "So I guess tomorrow in class, we'll tell Ford and he'll give us new housing units and stuff. And that means I'm finally out of the dorms! No more sharing the bathroooooooom. Or, I guess I'll still have to with you... but whatever." she rambled, simply speaking aloud the thoughts that were racing through her mind. This meant that tomorrow would be the first time the two would perform soul resonance, which she couldn't help but be a little nervous about. The whole idea of connecting two souls seemed entirely too exposing for people who'd just barely known each other.

She shook off the nervousness at the enticing idea of missions. Excitement coursed through her veins. She'd waited years for this day. Without thinking, she plopped down to the ground, lay on the concrete, and stared up at the cloudy sky. "So, Edge Du Monde, how come you've been partnerless for so long? You kill someone or something?" She was hardly one to talk, but she still couldn't help but be curious and it wasn't like Echo was particularly consciousness of being polite. "I mean, it just seems funny that the other students kinda avoid you. You'd always struck me as the type who was super powerful and talented. I know you got the whole bad boy deal going on, but you're not that intimidating. I never understood why someone hadn't snatched you up already or some shit... Uh, but don't get flattered or something weird like that. I wasn't complimenting you, I was just stating an observation." She pondered dumbly, tossing out backhanded compliments like they were crumbs and she was in a park full of birds.

Akane's breath sucked in as each foot lifted then settled. It wasn't a medical issue that she was so tired, it's just that Akane was never the one to participate willingly in physical activities, and since she's been running since the morning it tipped her delicate scale of no-fitness. Then there was Luka, ah yes him. Mr. Runningisjustaseasyasbreathing, not everyone has the lung power as him! She glanced over as his tall figure, it wasn't masculine like those steroid addicts but lean with broad shoulders and long legs. Envy ran through her pores, she wish she had the capability to glide up the stairs a million times or trip on mid-air and land out in a sprawl while having the image of a crane dancing. The marbled steps seemed to go on forever and her grib on the railing shakened as her knees locked together, her limit was nearing in. To her right was Luka, hands in pocket walking as non-chalant as ever. He focused neither up or down but ahead, his face held a bored look. "I still won't accept their help." Her voice came out muffled and soft, ignorance was making its way.

Keeping in stride with Akane was a habit since they were kids. The first time he went ahead was when they were 4 years old, Luka was running at full speed expecting her to be right at him. But as soon as he turned around all there was was a pile of dust and at the end of the playground a pissed of Akane hold a shovel getting ready to throw it. His hand instinctively went to the back of his head, 'Violent pacifistic girl, there's still a scar where the shovel met my head. Physical activities aren't her strong suit, getting ahead won't hurt. Ahead..Ha'. Long legs began taking steps two by two, amusement lit his face. There weren't any sharp items like a shovel anywhere within a meter of Akane so he was safe for the meanwhile. "You....Jacka...a...ack-choo!", her head went down as her eyes closed. Luka took the moment and sprinted to door leading to the roof, it slammed open a rush of cool breeze slamming into him like a wall. For a second time slowed, it was like those corny movies where wind would blow in everyone's hair as they all did a 360. Except this wasn't a movie, and no one was turning. Face flushed from the breeze he nodded a greeting and leaned against the door hands tucked away in his hands.

Back pressed against the door he thought of different ways to approach the blonde. Luka thought of the getting on knees and begging method, pathetic. Then there was a method his Meister would use to get the other person to warm up and it had her smile and get bubbley. Yeah, Luka didn't do bubbley. Much less smile half the time, he tried to smile once, it came out forced and twisted. Resting his head on the door he could feel the weak vibrations of Akane slamming her fists on it. The door lightly vibrated like a weak heart, he knew Akane must be panting and he also knew she wanted to stop him from asking for help. When Akane got ignorant to what they needed to do, Luka had to get stubborn to get things through.

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

Hmmm, that's a very good question. I personally haven't been able to post because Christmas is very time consuming when you're in my family, but as far as the others goooo...

I'll give them another three days to post, I guess. It has been an awfully long time. If they don't post then I suppose they get my good old friend the boot. Hahaha. I'll send out reminders first, though. :)

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

Merry after-Christmas guys!!
Are everyone else still active? I just noticed it was mainly AverageB, Yonbibuns, Pichu-chan, RanceBlackThorn, and A.C. posting.
>< What happened to the others?

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

DUDE, YES.

I actually love the wood stove. Since I feel like I'm freezing all the time, I'll go sit in front of it and be toasty.

Your blessing worked! No power-outages since. Yet. Knock on wood.

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

You have a wood stove?! THAT'S CRAAAZY.

I give your area my blessings, lol. AND MAY THERE BEING BETTER POWER RELIABILITY.

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

I'll reply by the end of the day when my power isn't being stupidly unpredictable.

And I have to go light a fire in the wood stove.
Baaaaaaby~ light my fire!

YAY for posting. I love you guys.

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

I KNOW I KNOW I'M SORRY.

I've been attempting to post for the past week in this roleplay, and every time some kind of obstacle gets in my way. :'''''D
I'LL GET IT TODAY, THOUGH. I basically have it written up, too.
yadayadayada

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

I'll post tomorrow!

But I gotta say that I get pumped whenever I come on and see your guys' posts. :)

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

Doooon't worry about it. I won't be the type to yell at people for not posting.
People should post when they feel inspired to do so, otherwise roleplaying because a chore as opposed to a hobby. :)

RL always comes before the game~

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

Been working on a huge project for class, sorry for a lack of updates but I will post as soon as possible. I promise. Until then, if any of you guys feel that you can use my characters for the purpose of plot development, you have my full permission as long as you have them as reasonable characters.

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

Woooooo! >8D I loved everyone's posts so far. :')

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

AH. I need to post now. :) I can't wait to see your guys' characters in action. YAHOOO!

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

Woohoo!! We could get this RP started :3

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

Excalibur is such a funny character. He was so annoying that you had to laugh so you didn't just break your computer screen, hahaha.

Sorry it took so long, guys. I've been SOOOO busy lately. x_x But, I got the post up! :)

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

Lol! hell yes, I forgot about that part. So funny. Poor Oz needing to hear that song. I think Arthur used excalibur as torture to his enemies with that song. I just like the dancing. And whats with the I'm going to california.

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

Rance: I did like Excalibur's dance when Oz was trying to right a paper on him. The only thing that made me really, really dislike him was his long, drawn out stories that didn't really make any sense. Not that he's supposed to make sense. Ha ha, as soon as they started finding him annoying, I knew they'd put him back. And I got the feeling when the fairy pulled that "B:" face, that something was up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDFUBz8l5jQ :) Yessum.

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

Ah, Excalibur... I actually thought he was funny. I really thought that Black Star or Kid would end up using it, since he's so strong.

Re: OOC (Closed) || Shibusen Scholars || Soul Eater RP ||

RanceBlackthorn: I concur. It's definitely ALL of those, your so right. :) AND those poems. A ha ha, I still wonder what they might've said.

Cheeseymonkey: OH MY GOD. Excaliburrr~! I hate him.

AverageBear: CAN'T WAIT. *fist pump*
