Introduction

Sins of a Solar Empire

Welcome all, to the first Sins of a Solar Empire RP ever to grace this site (I think)!

This is going to be a SCI-FI RP where each player either controls a ship, or is a member of a ship. I'm limiting the types of ships available for several reasons: One, because many of these ships are just too plain badass. And two, because I plan to start this RP from the begining- Thats right. From the very point and time when the Vasari (Evil aliens, see bellow) first attack the Trade Order's planets (This is the TEC in its earliest stages. You'll learn more, again, bellow.) Lets skip straight to the lore, alot of which is taken straight out of the manual, and some of which I made up just now.

The Trade Order (TTO)

The history of the Trade Order began more then 1,000 years ago during the foundation of the Trade Order by economically driven human settlers. Established on strict principals of economics and codes of behavior, the Trader Worlds quickly began to exapn - making the Trade Order an industrial and commercial juggernaut. However, outside of the Traders' core principals, each member world maintained its own interests, form of government, economic systems and culture.

It was during this early period of the Trade Order that something unique took place which would later reshape the galaxy. During a routine exploratory expedition to recruit new trading partners, Emissaries from the Order landed on a dry, desert world orbiting a red giant. Here they discovered a colony of people practicing deviancy, breaking the covenants of the Trader Order. When the emissaries returned, their news sent shockwaves through the Trader Worlds and the response was swift - exile. For the first time in their history the Trade Order forced their will upon a sovereign world, banding together and forcibly removing their twisted cousins from Trader space forever ... and forgotten.

Over the next thousand years the Trade Order went on in relative peace and prosperity - A golden age for mankind. War became a thing read about only in history books and seen in holo-vids. The occasional rare dispute was settled in Trader-sanctioned courts and merchant fleets filled the phase lanes with goods.

Everything seemed perfect.. Little did they know what was about to descend upon them.

The Advent

Decendents of those outcasted from Trader Space, little is known about them at this time..

But the Traders' are going to learn more. Spies, placed within Trader society, relay everything they see and hear about the Traders. And they know that they are weakening.. Soon, the Unity will strike.

The Vasari Empire

Again, little is known at this time but random sightings of the Vasari's scout ships. Slowly, more and more sightings are occuring across Trader Space.. the invasion has begun.

Brief History of the Planet Argon:

Argon was settled seven hundred years ago after the last known war, the great Embargo War of Rorgarl. Having had faced the horrors of war, the veterans of the military at the time all decided that the best action was to take the military ships, and settle on a planet far from the rest of Trader space. And so, flying as far as the could, taking the last true warships with them, they fled the Trader's and the horrors of what they had done.

Eventually they settled upon a small planet, orbiting a blue giant, far beyond the edge of known Trader space. There they prospered in peace for five hundred years until they were rediscovered by a scout ship. Rejoining the society of their brothers, They looked to fill some niche in society. But they were no great ship builders, they could not craft beautiful things with their hands, and they could not -STAND- politics... And so they fell into a sort of economic depression, barely scraping by for the next hundred years.

Finnaly, a man with a dream came along. Pirates had murdered his family, and he wanted revenge. Orion Sova, merchantman and Entrepreneur, spent all his vast fortunes to build a single ship with which he single-handedly defeated almost all the pirates in the sector: Sadly, he was in the end, defeated. But he enspired his fellow Argonians, and they filled a niche that no one else seemed willing to fill. So founded the Sova Corporation, named in honor of the late Orion.
And so things have been peaceful in the Argon sector for the last hundred and fifty years, with the pirates on the run, and trade once again picking up.. The recent opening of a group of wormholes a mear three light-years from the planet has drawn an unexpected number of tourists who help to boast the economy even more. Indeed, things seem to be looking up for them!


Starting information: To start with, NONE of your ships are actually built for combat except for the Sova Carriers; Of which I only want three (Counting the one I'm going to have, of course.) The Sova Carriers, built to combat LIGHTLY ARMED pirate vessels in space, are basicly a platform for fighter craft. Sova is the not only the name of the ships' class, but also the company they work for; The slightly-prosperous Sova Security Agency, based on the planet Argon in the outer sectors of Trader Space, where this RP will start.

Scout Ships are hired by individual governments, who use them to scout (Who woulda known?!) for asteroids particularly rich in materials, rare galactic occurances like binary stars, or simply more planets to settle.

Kodiak vessels are used to clear paths through asteroids, accounting for their heavy armor and weaponry.

Hoshiko Robotic Cruisers are used to repair sattelites that are damaged by meteor showers.

Akkan Cruiseliners, Huge luxury liners that are armed with two laser cannons on port and starboard, are just that- Cruiseliners. They take passengers on tours of Space, often for months on end. The Argon system is particularly well-visited because of the mysterious Wormhole cluster three-light years away from the planet. To fend off pirates, they have a squad of fighter craft (Roughly six craft) to protect themselves, along with the laser cannons.

Protev Colony-shuttles work from the ground to space, moving large amounts of goods too and from a colony. They are heavily armored, due to having to withstand entering the atmosphere of many types of planets. They have a single weapon, a pulse laser turret mounted on the 'nose' of the vessel.

Dunov Superfreighters are huge freightliners that are minimally manned, and moderately armed to protect the haul. Generally escorted around system by one of the aging Sova Carriers. Weapons include four auto-cannons to fend off pirate fighter craft, Fifteen squads (One hundred and fifty men) of security personel armed to the teeth onboard, and twenty missile tubes. A single heavy laser cannon rides on the 'top' of the ship, though its hardly ever used: Because to use it, one must power down their shields.

I WILL REPEAT FOR THOSE WHO SKIPPED THAT: The only ships you may choose from are! : Sova Carrier, Dunov Superfreighter, Akkan Cruiseliner, Hoshiko Robotic Cruiser, Kodiak Pathclearer, Protev Colony-shuttle, Or a Scout ship.

THERE WILL BE A LARGE BATTLE AS SOON AS WE ARE ALL SITUATED IN THE GAME. By large battle, I mean LARGE BATTLE.
There are COUNTLESS Trader worlds out there! Feel free to make up your own planet and lore, but know that this is a time of PEACE. You may be a part of a security corporation, like Sova Corp, or you can be a part of a planetary defense force - But they consist of FIGHTER CRAFT.
I'll post my character later.
