a character in “Sora Coelus”, as played by Ageha

Description

Katelyn Nieves

Name: Katelyn Nieves
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Home world: None
Race: Unknown
ImageAppearance: Katelyn like most of girls has rather fragile body. She is 1,65 m high and weights 55 kg. Her skin is very pale because of cloaks she wears almost at all times. Katelyn's hair is long, straight anf black and she often likes to make different unusual, but beautiful hairstyles out of them. The most unusual feature in Katelyn are her red eyes. Nobody knows why are they in such color, but it can be assumed that it comes from her unusual origin.

Because Katelyn is different from people living at all worlds, she wears a dark, long cloak that completely hides her body from strangers. However in those occasions when she's alone, Katelyn really likes to dress up rather fancy, even flashy. Her favourite outfit includes blue shirt, rather long shirt, that exposes her back, short dark blue skirt, long blue boots, blue tie able hand warmers, and loads of golden accessory all over her body. In times when she's is really great mood, she will even put on out her favourite light blue silk scarf.

Personality: Katelyn's personality is quite unusual. Since she's been traveling through 5 different worlds, she has made the most of studying things that are in all these worlds, making Katelyn really intelligent. However, since she looks different from all people in these worlds, Katelyn has never dared to actually talk with them to make a conversation. Because of that she knows nothing of what is good or bad, what is happiness or sadness. In fact, emotions is something Katelyn has never experienced.

This girl is also very straight-forward. She doesn't know what are lies are that's why she will always tell what she thinks. That also makes Katelyn really naive because she will believe anything anyone tells to her. But that doesn't mean that one can easily fool her. Katelyn has seen wars on Earth and Farra and knows that people are dangerous, that's why it is really hard to predict how will she react. If Katelyn sees ones action as bad, she won't hesitate to draw her sword and attack although from other people perspective that action can be harmless.

Biography: It is said that Katelyn was born from spark that came from time when chaos clashed into light, however there's nobody who could prove that fact. How girl managed to survive as a baby is a complete mystery even to Katelyn herself. After all she has no parents or relatives and it is unknown how often would she make portals as a baby. First memory Katelyn remembers is when she was around 5 years old. From the beautiful houses and lack of technology, it can be assumed that at this point Katelyn was living inside Anima. She remembers how she had seen many different people with beautiful spirits (those would be the souls) above them pass by little Katelyn who was alone, sitting in the cold rain.

One of Anima women saw the little girl and decided to take her in. For few months Katelyn would feel really great, as if she finally had found her family, however one day, she had accidentally made another portal which sucked the girl inside Farra. That was probably the hardest moment of Katelyn's life, because she happened to teleport right into battlefield. It took girl all the strength and courage she had to run away from tremendous explosions and field of bloody corpses. Ever since that time, little Katelyn decided that she had to become strong as well, so she searched for a weapon to defend herself with. Soon enough she found one. It was a beautiful sword made out of light material which suited Katelyn perfectly.

Just like that she was constantly being thrown from one world into another. In each she learned something new, however the more she teleported the less contact she had with other people. At beginning it was hard for Katelyn to find such a simple thing as food and mostly as a child she would get them from people who would be kind enough to share it with her. But as she grew Katelyn learned what jobs she could do in each world in order to gain some food of her own. From aside it would seem that everything is great but Katelyn wished to experience what people called "emotion". After all, she was never happy or sad. Katelyn simply never knew what it meant to be sad or happy.

One day when Katelyn was 19, something terrible happened to her on Earth. Accidentally girl had teleported herself onto human battlefield. Those are the worst battlefields of all, counting that humans although were constantly at war with each other, never really fought with only brute force. In this case, battle was especially bloody. Because of advanced weapons, corpses of humans were piling up on each other and Katelyn was in middle of all that nightmare. Some might say that she survived because some miracle helped her to avoid all the dangerous spots, but it wasn't like that at all. While running through battlefield, Katelyn was shot many times by lasers, bullets, fire and even chemical weapons. A normal person would have died, but thanks to her superior regenerative abilities, Katelyn survived without even any remaining scars. Ever since that incident she could perfectly control how she created portals through worlds, however there was one major flaw. They lasted for very long periods of time thus making possible for others to pass through them

Weapon: Sacred Blue Flame Katelyn had found this sword in Spiracu, in one house of elves. When she tried to take it, elder elf had caught her and at first he had wanted to take sword back, but then he noticed Katelyn's eyes and dark hair which is impossible for elf to have. "You're not from this world." Simply said the elder and allowed Katelyn to take the sword. Ever since then, she has never been separated from it. "Sacred Blue Flame" is unusual sword, because unlike normal sword it is made out of blue fire ore which can be found only in deep volcanoes of Spiracu. Because of this unsual ore, sword possesses magical powers that can be triggered by its master only. Luckily for Katelyn, sword had acknowledged her as its master ever since the beginning. It might also be the reason why elder elf gave it up to her.

Abilities: Katelyn's main ability is creating portals that can lead her from one world to another. At beginning she had completely no control over them, but as Katelyn matured, she managed to control her portals better. That is until war incident on Earth. ever since then she could control how she created her portals, but they remained in place for many months, unlike old portals that disappeared after few minutes.

Katelyn's abilities change as she travels through worlds. On Earth, she had no special abilities, in Anima she could see people's souls just like xigmas, in Farra she could perform simple alchemy she had mastered through years, in Diaboli she could do simple fire magic with help of her sword and of course in Spiracu she had learned everything there is to know about nature.

Extra: Katelyn's physical strength matches that of a human, however her regenerative abilities are even faster than xigmas.

So begins...

May 26, Year 2073

*BOOM* Katelyn jumps to ground and just time in time to dodge bomb that was just flying towards her direction. She sees how few soldiers throw more bombs towards their enemies which were now hiding around 30 meters behind Katelyn. She gets hallway up and desperately tries to get away from bombs, however one lands not to far away from her, sending girl flying from wave of explosion. It was so strong that her left arm and leg were all covered in burns and her ears have gone deaf. The pain was so immense that girl couldn't help but letting out a painful scream, which was muted over noise of exploding bombs.

After around a minute which seems like eternity for Katelyn, she finally regains her hearing and her wounds slowly start to close making it possible for girl to move again. Quickly she gathered her remaining strength, stood up and ran straight towards near by forest. However she didn't go unnoticed to soldier eyes and they mercilessly fired at girl. She managed to avoid most of shots however some bullets hit her shoulder and leg. But Katelyn didn't dare to stop anymore. If this continues, soldiers will shoot her heart and then she won't be able to regenerate anymore.

Right when girl thought that she had finally reached forest and safety, one of soldiers fired a chemical weapon which painlessly got into her neck. Confused Katelyn quickly pulled out the little thorn and looked at it, not understanding why would human shot her with something painless. However soon she felt it. Strong poison spread through her body, making her fall to ground and howl in agony. Normal human would have been instantly dead from this poison, but for Katelyn is was very painful as for whole five minutes her body was fighting with poison, thus making girl scream and roll on ground from pain.

When poison was finally neutralized, Katelyn got up and ran deeper into forest far away from human. Apparently when she fighting the poison, few more soldiers had shot her in stomach. Seemed like her whole body was shaken by pain, but slowly it was fading away as her amazing regenerative abilities, quickly healed her bruises leaving behind just holes in clothing. Still frightened and in shock Katelyn created a portal to Anima and quickly went through it.

There she instantly collapsed on the ground was blessed to see green soft grass under her body instead of bloody corpse of human soldier. Soon enough Katelyn fell asleep, but she was seeing awful nightmares with soldiers, bombs and corpses. What she failed notice before falling asleep is that portal behind her didn't close...

"Come Nimbo."

Instantly, a bizarre looking miniature porcupine-unicorn thing bounded for a blonde teen wearing rags of shiny leather. Sitting on his heels, the blonde teen open his palm for the creature, termed 'Nimbo'. Scrambling onto the outstretched palm, it settled quickly when the blondie placed the creature onto his shoulder, not even caring if the creature would prick him with the immensely pointed needles. Perhaps they trust each other enough to not make that mistake.

The blondie spat to the side, getting rid of the blade of kiloko leaves he was biting. He heaved a slight sigh before walking forward, looking rather bored. Through the forest he went, until he came across a clearing... and the sight of an ancient ruin beheld him. Scaling the small hill and rubble was easy, considering how agile he was, far more agile compared to any other people in this world, considering how...docile the rest were, the blondie spat again in distaste. He leapt from handhold to handhold, sometimes even forcefully driving his fingers into the rock to make one. At the last stretch, he hauled himself up with superhuman strength, sending him flying high above and landing nicely on top.

He scanned around him, drinking in the scenery of the ruined temple. More information. He explored the place, finding several interesting things; murals, old paintings, artifacts of various makes ranging from old beaten down crowns, tattered capes, swords that would've been the sharpest of their times. It was odd, the blondie traced the chiseled murals with his delicate looking fingers, a deep brooding look etched onto his face. The murals depicted war and battle. Why?

He continued further into the ruins, coming across certain runes, reading them and understanding more as he went on...that was until he heard an explosion outside. He ran out of the ruins, looking for the source of the sound and found it. A part of the forest was burning and several of the creatures were running amok, some trying to stop the fire, some ON fire.

Worried for his forest companions, he rushed forward to quell the fire as well, but this fire was different. While normally the nearby leaves and even dirt could quench the fires, this fire was not quenching... instead was spreading and a foul odor was emitting from the smoke. The teen coughed a few times before deciding he couldn't do anything after suffering several burns. The burning creatures were also dying... He could tell from the way they flickered as the last moments of their life faded away.

He looked far and saw a glowing circle in the air. Intrigued, he walked towards it. It seemed that the explosion may have been caused by that thing. As he neared the glowing circle, he saw a girl as well, looking rather dirty and even war-ridden, but somehow unharmed. The girl's soul was...

The teen shook his head to clear his mind, before looking at her again. She was covered in blood, but there was no wound...How did she end up here? Civilization was far away. VERY VERY far away. None of the people would've traveled this far away from their comfort zone, unlike him.

While in thought, a projectile of some sort suddenly emerged from the glowing circle. He dodged it, just a slight shift of his body, but the explosion behind him registered a small flinch. What was that?! It made loud noises and was causing the grass to burn to ashes. It smelled bad too. This must've been what caused the forest fire and explosion before. He saw a booted foot emerge from the glowing circle, stepping in cautiously before the body followed. It was a person dressed... rather weirdly. It was such thick clothing, streaked with blood and a rather curious design. He smelled of blood too, not to mention ashes and a mixture of other smells that the blonde did not like. He huffed through his nose and wrinkled it, causing the man to turn towards him quickly, pointing an odd item at him. It looked rather streamlined, and several thingy-magies were attached to it.

The man looked bad. The teen knew cuz he could see it. The man seemed to peer at him for a moment, before noticing something different about the blondie and opened fire. The teen did not see this and instantly felt a searing pain in his chest, stomach and shoulder. While these rounds may have killed any normal person in the world where this 'warrior' had come from, and even mortally wound those wearing the same clothing the 'warrior' was wearing, the blondie was a different case. He was gasping for breath, much to the surprise of the 'warrior', who slowly approached him, pointing the advanced weaponry at him.

"Who are y-"

Nimbo's horn had expanded to twice it's size, acting like a lance and stabbing the 'warrior' in the chest, pushing him away and stunning the man. The clothing he was wearing looked dented. Recovering, the blonde got up and ran straight towards the man with an odd smile. The last things the man saw were the blonde's eyes, glowing eerie yellow, before he felt his chest cave in, and his entire life flash before his eyes... then darkness.

The 'warrior's' clothing was instantly crushed underneath the blonde's forceful attack, destroying it to nothing and pushing the dead body through the fading circle. Once it was over, and the circle was gone, the blonde sank to his knees and felt around his body, feeling the soreness of his regenerating flesh. There was still a metal 'seed' still on his chest, and he reached in with his fingers, ripping the 'seed' out with a painful cry. Panting, he looked at the 'seed', admiring how weird it looked and how such a thing could cause him so much pain. He slipped the 'seed' into a slot on his clothing to keep it as a souvenir.

He took noticed to the girl that was on the grass. The fire was starting to spread around the grass and leaving her there would've meant death...While it had nothing to do with him, he glanced around a few times and decided no one would be around anyway. He lifted up the girl onto his shoulder without much effort and was even able to run without difficulty. He leapt up onto the ruins he previously came from and set the girl down. He looked at her again, not able to shake the feeling that she was completely different from everyone else in this world...

He went down to the finally receding forest fire and started digging up graves along with the other creatures, who were already mourning for their dead in their own way. As he lowered the first dead creature into the grave, in contrast to what he was, in contrast to who he was, in contrast to what kind of soul he had, he shed one of the most beautiful, meaningful tears in the universe.

"Sleep well... my friend. We will meet again. All souls in Anima return to the same source..." the blonde spoke, a knowledge he acquired from reading the murals from different temples.

...Yes. This was the most beautiful and most peaceful world in the universe, Anima, and he was a Xigma, the native race of the world... and he was none other than the 'Exiled'. The Xigma with the ugliest soul of all, the maverick of Anima, a riot.

...Riot Northodoxas.

When Katelyn woke up it was already late noon, sun slowly was starting to set. Still in shock from nightmares and war she was unwillingly pulled in, girl slowly stood up her body shaking. She looked around and saw that she wasn't in the same location she had been teleported too. Although her memory was fuzzy, Katelyn clearly remembered the fact she had landed on soft and comfortable forest grass, but now she was in middle of some sort of ruins.

"How did I get here..." Katelyn asked herself quietly and looked around only to find out that she was alone. She also noticed that aside from human blood, holes from bullets and bombs, there were some slight burn marks on her clothing. Of course Katelyn herself was fine, but it was just strange as there was no fire on human battlefield. Once again Katelyn spun around trying to find the forest where she had come from until she finally noticed it. Or what's left of it.

Quickly Katelyn ran towards direction of forest praying that her eyes were deceiving her. However when she ran up closer girl saw that they were not. Most of forest has been burned down along side with animals inside it. With shaking body, slowly Katelyn walked into forest where at some places still hot coal was burning. From time to time little "sprak" and "sprik" could be heard from still dying trees. Burned animals corpses also wasn't a rare sight around here. Suddenly Katelyn's legs couldn't carry her anymore and she fell onto hot, ash-filled ground. The shock was that big that honestly she wouldn't see now anyone even if he/she was standing right next to her.

"This is my fault... it's because I opened the portal..." Katelyn quietly whimpered, tears running over her cheeks and falling onto hot ground with "tsss" noise as if tears were trying to cool down the ground. Because she had been traveling through worlds, Katelyn knows that Anima is one of the most beautiful worlds of them all. Seeing it destroyed broke her heart and knowing that it was her fault to begin with completely destroyed it.

Riot, surrounded by the grieving creatures of the forest for the lost of their home, and the lost of their family, their loved ones. While he would've cared about them, not that they mind that he didn't, he was simply too busy trying to drink in the sight of the weapon in his hands. It was odd. VERY odd. Riot fiddled with a few dials and even managed to figure out how to release a certain box-like apparatus from the weapon that seemed to hold the painful metal 'seeds'.

"...Interesting..." he muttered, lifting up the weapon up to the sunlight once more to admire its foreign look. He was still unable to figure out how to make it work, given the fact that he had been twirling dials all over the place, possibly locking the weapon in the process. He pressed certain buttons and even pressed on the curved trigger near the grip. Nothing happened. The weapon was interesting and full of mystery, something Riot liked, but it was unusable until he knew how to operate it. He heard someone falling down onto the ashes of the forest and looked up from the object of interest to see the girl collapsed on the floor. The creatures around him instantly scattered at the noise while the blondie looked on.

"This is my fault... it's because I opened the portal..." he heard the girl quietly whimper. Tears running over her cheeks and falling onto hot ground with "tsss" noise as if tears were trying to cool down the ground.

While knowledge of this girl being able to open portals nudged at Riot's innate hunger for knowledge, his anger overcame his hunger. How dare she shed tears due to her own fault? She should just suck it up and leave. It's happened and crying wouldn't change anything.

"...Stop tainting the dead forest with your tears." Riot hissed angrily, getting onto his feet and forcefully flinging the idiot girl away with a swipe of his hand. To hell he cared about her well-being if she was stupid enough to go around desecrating the forest. He stepped into the pile of ashes, walking around rather protectively.

"Go somewhere else. Your tears make me sick." he finally spat out, voice laced full of venom.

Some of the creatures, of course, approached the girl without much fear, but that didn't change Riot's decision. He continued to pace himself while some crystal horned, long furred deer-things approached the girl curiously, slowly accompanied by several colourful Anima animals, ranging from ground dwelling giant gemstone shelled armadillos to high flying leaf winged birds.

Suddenly Katelyn heard some foot steps come near her and young male voice speak: "...Stop tainting the dead forest with your tears."

Voice was filled with anger and shortly after boy forcefully flung her away. The power he held was tremendous and probably normal human would have broken a rib or two, but here once again Katelyn's regenerative abilities came to help. Confused Katelyn looked up at the young xigma and the sight was yet another shock for her. He without a doubt was a xigma from this world, however his soul... it was dark, depressing and nothing like normal xigmas have. What made it look even more odd that man himself was really handsome with beautiful light hair and sun-like eyes. However obviously he had been disgusted with girl and that made Katelyn wonder why.

"Go somewhere else. Your tears make me sick," he finally spat out, voice laced full of venom. Now she understood why he had such soul and yet she also didn't. Although man without a doubt was rude, he had cared for the forest, because he had gotten angry at Katelyn for burning it. However having almost no contact with people whatsoever only made xigmas words even worse for Katelyn to bear.

"I'm sorry....I didn't mean it..." Katelyn whimpered remembering horrors of battlefield, human corpses and pain from poison that still hasn't entirely left her body. Suddenly something soft brushed against Katelyn's arm and she looked down to see a little forest creature brush against it. More and more of animals came closer to Katelyn as if consoling her. But girl's feeling of guilt only grew deeper and she flung herself into one of deer-like animals and started crying even louder into its fur..

"I'm soo sorry! I was scared... there was blood and corpses and painful poison spreading through my body... I just wanted to get away, I didn't want to take away your home...." Katelyn cried. Strangely enough guilt of burning the forest was more painful to her than pain from that poison human launched into her body. But suddenly as Katelyn cried something weird started happening to her. Katelyn's head was spinning and her whole body felt like burning. Usually she felt like that before creating a portal, but this time feeling was much more intense. Although Katelyn tried to keep her power in place, in the end it got best of her and she once again created a portal. However it was different from others. Normal portals glow in cold light blue color, but this one was red as if it was made of fire.

Red portal is open now. It leads through all worlds however its location can change.

"I'm sorry....I didn't mean it..." the female's whimpers only drew a impassive look from the blonde Xigma. Another's tears meant nothing to him, just as his tears meant nothing to other people, so Riot learned to never pity a person who was crying since a very young age. The girl flung herself into one of deer-like animals and started crying even louder into its fur. The loudness made Riot ball up his fists, whether to contain his anger or to prevent himself from pitying the girl, only the blondie himself knew.

"I'm soo sorry! I was scared... there was blood and corpses and painful poison spreading through my body... I just wanted to get away, I didn't want to take away your home...." Katelyn cried.

"You've already taken away their home, idiot." Riot's anger peaked again. This girl! Talking as if it wasn't her fault, she was the one who made a portal, though he knew not how she did so, and brought some foreign person into Anima, causing destruction. "Just imagine if more of those people came."

Suddenly a red circle appeared out of nowhere, like the blue circle he saw before. Was this the portal? Curious, he walked past the girl towards the portal.

"...What are you?" he asked without looking at the girl. "A witch? A magician?"

He reached for the portal. "Does... this lead to other worlds? Like what was recorded in the murals?"

He slipped his fingers into the portal then pulled them out, a little glad that they were safely intact. With a shrug as if he didn't have care in the world, he moved stuck the top half of his body into the portal, taking a look at where the other side led to.

Obviously this man had no idea what Katelyn has been through as he only became colder and colder. Now girl clearly understood why his soul was so ugly. However the boy didn't matter to her, Katelyn looked at the animals who were now swarming around her as if consoling Katelyn. But while being busy with animals she completely forgot about the newly created portal. When Katelyn remembered of it, she saw how boy was sticking half of his body in the portal most likely eager to see what was on the other side. That is when her only instinct activated. Girl quickly ran up to the man and with full force pulled him out of portal and away from it. Then Katelyn drew her sword "Sacred Blue Flame" and pointed towards the man.

"You shall not pass!!!" Katelyn strictly called out and took a steady posture to protect the portal.

"I don't know what I am or where I come from or why was I born, however there is one thing I know for sure. Nobody should be allowed to travel through worlds so I will be the portal creator and guardian as well!" Katelyn said strictly and as if giving warning shot made her sword blaze with blue flames. Animals from around became bit scared of flames and backed away.

"Don't worry, forest friends! These flames don't burn those who are friends to me, they'll only burn my enemies!" Katelyn said as she saw frightened creatures. At first bit uneasy however steadily animals once again came closer to girl and her sword to make sure of her words. When they saw that it indeed was of no harm to them, animals calmed down.

“…Nobody should be allowed to travel through worlds so I will be the portal creator and guardian as well!"

It was an odd experience, traveling through the crimson portal. Just… it felt like some strange force he had no power over had commandeered his body and was moving him, much like one would feel like they would feel if they were being controlled. However, he soon arrived at his exit, only to hear the sound of a woman’s voice. She sounded angry, almost. As he stepped out, he was immediately startled by a sudden burst of flames coming from the woman’s sword and unconsciously yelped in surprise before taking a step back and reentering the portal.

Again, the odd experience overtook his nerves as he traversed to a different world, unknown to him. When once more he had managed to exit the portal, he did so reluctantly, fearing that he’d be attacked by someone with a flaming weapon. By what trickery that was, he was unsure, but he knew that he didn’t want to be near it if possible. Whatever kind of trap this was, it was most certainly an odd one. He had never even heard of a trap that did whatever it was this was doing.

His nerves had returned to normal, and the weather felt noticeably cooler now. To get a bearing on where he was, he looked around and found that instead of trees surrounding him like there should have been, there were rocks and…things in the immediate area, not the solitude and trees he had remembered entering that thing from.

And they stared at him. All of them. They had wings, some had reddened skin, and the unique eyes, colored both red and some blue, glared at him with expressions that mirrored his own. These strange beings weren’t Farran, he could tell because Farrans don’t have wings, horns, claws, or anything that belongs on an animal. They have weapons and armor. They have alchemy, but they do not, under any circumstances, own a pair of wings. Working ones at that.

Wary, Vayne took a small step back and immediately almost fell to his demise. The portal had placed him just in front of a drop, and there was nowhere to escape to. Vayne, a battle-hardened alchemist, was not fearful of death, but he was not one to embrace it. If possible, he would try to survive his confrontation of these monsters, though the likelihood of that seemed low since he was assuming all of them were in cahoots with one another. He, new to this strange world, was unaware of the animosity between angels and demons. All he had to do was find somewhere to run. He figured he could at least best some of these beasts, so long as he wasn’t a fool and observed these things before throwing an attack out.

But as he scoped out a suitable path to take in his hasty departure, his eyes fell upon a grotto. Within the shade of the rocks and because he was at just the right position, he could make out the vague figure of another beast hiding within. So then this was a perfect trap after all. Of course that was a monster hiding within to prevent any attempt of concealing himself. That had to be it. And now, as he discarded that route in favor of another, he found that there was none – he was trapped at the edge with no place to go except down.

And he seemed to be one of few without wings.

(You can control the angels and demons, Tsuki~)

He saw buildings, buildings that looked completely unlike anything in Anima. Before he could step through for a closer look, he felt a yank pulling him back. He moved into a hostile stance and even had the projectile 'weapon' he had gotten previously in his hands, even though it didn't work as he glared at his assailant. The girl was up, and apparently no longer crying, not to mention pointing a weapon that was searing his skin even from a distance.

"You shall not pass!!!" she strictly called out and took a steady posture as if to protect the portal. Riot lowered his weapon and tilted his head ever so slightly at the girl's announcement. For a split second or so, he even saw a glimpse of someone with white hair appearing before him before disappearing. He blinked, was that an apparition?

"I don't know what I am or where I come from or why was I born, however there is one thing I know for sure. Nobody should be allowed to travel through worlds so I will be the portal creator and guardian as well!" As if a warning her sword blaze with blue flames. The creatures around them fled and Riot shifted forward as one of the young fawns of the crystal horned deer moved behind him, taking the exact same protective stance that the female had, except she was protecting her little portal, while he was covering a living being.

"Don't worry, forest friends! These flames don't burn those who are friends to me, they'll only burn my enemies!" the girl announced, making Riot snort with laughter. It was a mocking laugh, but there was no doubt it was Riot's laugh. It was clear, soft, and all the same around, beautiful. At first bit uneasy however steadily animals once again came closer to girl and her sword to make sure of her words. When they saw that it indeed was of no harm to them, animals calmed down.

When he recovered from his fit, his sharp, cold, calculating eyes stared at the girl. He stepped forward, towards the sword, as if without a care in the world.

"You prevent me from passing, yet you yourself have past your own portal and destroyed their homes." he motioned to the animals. "I don't care about what you are, where you're from or why you were born. But I can't help but think..."

He tapped his finger against his soft lips in feigned thoughtfulness. "If you're a portal creator and guardian..."

He glared at her accusingly. "Then why did YOU travel into our world? Why did YOU have to create the portal in the first place?"

"Just like this one." Riot jabbed his finger at the red portal before them. "Can you answer my questions? Oh, portal girl from nowhere with no name and no path?"

He took another step forward, feeling the heat of the sword getting steadily hotter and hotter. Nimbo, on Riot's shoulder, yelped a little and flared out it's menacing needle armor. A flicker of emotion washed by and with a very endearing look on his face, Riot hushed his beloved companion, causing the Iluben to retract it's armor and quiet down.

"...So your sword burns only your enemies?" He took yet another step forward towards the sword. "I'm going through this portal, and I don't care what happens."

He reached up and grabbed the sword's blade, effectively beginning to burn his hands in the bright blue flames. His face was impassive under the blue lighting, as if the pain didn't faze him at all...

The continuous stare he gave the girl...was haunting and creepy. The Iluben yelped again, only to be hushed gently by it's owner. His grip ever so tightened around the blade and he pulled the sword, the girl in extension, closer to him, eventually placing the blade tip dangerously close at his chest.

Truly now...DID HE NOT FEAR DEATH AT ALL?!

"Go ahead. Stop me." he challenged in a soft voice, the fire gradually eating up to his elbows. All around them, the animals were in turmoil as they watched their friend burn in the blue flames. They leapt here and there, they screamed in their different voices, they flapped their wings to try and put out the flames, they threw the fire-extinguishing dirt and grass at him.

All the while, Riot was never fazed. His eyes never lingered away from the girl, his grip never slackened, and not once did any sort of emotion flicker through his impassive face...Save for that signature frown of his... and then the yellow glow in his eyes.

Despite Katelyn's warnings, man did not back down. Instead he boldly faced her, while coldly holding her flaming sword which without a doubt was burning him. And still he didn't let go and just kept accusing the girl without knowing a thing.

"I travel through worlds because no being can exist outside them. I however wasn't born in any of these worlds that's why I cannot stay in one world forever, eventually the power will overwhelm me and pull me into another world. I admit that I was careless because of pain and shock of being in middle of battlefield, however I do not intend to make such mistake again," with that Katelyn closed her eyes and calmed down the flame of fire so it wouldn't burn the man anymore. His hand was severely burned however she could see that it was slowly recovering. Of course the process was much slower than for Katelyn and it would most likely take few days for burns to heal completely.

"You are even worse than the soldiers from before! You may have compassion for animals and nature however you have none for people. If I let you through the balance will without a doubt be broken and I cannot allow that to happen," girl calmly said with her eyes shut all the time. Then she suddenly popped them wide open and glared at the man. Although Katelyn without a doubt was kind in nature, she was neither of five races so the way she acts is different and her understanding of worlds is also different. That's why she is not afraid to injure people, however Katelyn will never kill anyone.

"If you think I'm afraid to fight then you're wrong!" Katelyn called out and mercilessly stabbed man's leg and commanded the flame from sword burn thus both stopping the bleeding and making injury more painful to bear. No matter how much willpower he would have he can't stand if his leg is injured so badly.

"Just because I'm not from this world doesn't mean I don't know anything about its inhabitants. You may be much stronger than me but even with that power alone you can't kill me. Now I have injured your leg, which won't kill you because I stopped the bleeding with my fire and because you're xigma. However if you're willing to fight more, I won't mind cutting down few of your limbs since there are plenty of people in other worlds that can live perfectly without them," Katelyn explained and once again flared up her sword. Animals around without a doubt were scared however they too knew that the portal shouldn't be crossed and they understood that Katelyn was protecting it.

"I travel through worlds because no being can exist outside them. I however wasn't born in any of these worlds that's why I cannot stay in one world forever, eventually the power will overwhelm me and pull me into another world. I admit that I was careless because of pain and shock of being in middle of battlefield, however I do not intend to make such mistake again," As she made the blue flames die out, Riot had to laugh his mocking laugh yet again, completely ignoring his burnt hands. What a joke.

"You just made a portal again. You just made ANOTHER mistake." he retorted.

"You are even worse than the soldiers from before! You may have compassion for animals and nature however you have none for people. If I let you through the balance will without a doubt be broken and I cannot allow that to happen,"

Though the girl had a calm voice, Riot's reaction was instantaneous and he looked simply murderous. COMPASSION for PEOPLE? HAH! Like hell he would. This girl speaking as if she knew him since the day he was born. She was sorely mistaken. Before he could give the girl a piece of his mind, she moved.

"If you think I'm afraid to fight then you're wrong!" she called out and mercilessly stabbed his leg, burning it in the provess and ultimately cauterizing the wound in a very painful manner. It almost seemed that both flesh and metal had melded into each other.

"Just because I'm not from this world doesn't mean I don't know anything about its inhabitants. You may be much stronger than me but even with that power alone you can't kill me. Now I have injured your leg, which won't kill you because I stopped the bleeding with my fire and because you're xigma. However if you're willing to fight more, I won't mind cutting down few of your limbs since there are plenty of people in other worlds that can live perfectly without them," She explained and once again flared up her sword. The animals were getting pretty scared with the way she was reacting or by the burning sword, but Riot didn't want to keep down at all.

By all the odds, and by his extremely stubborn and superior nature, he stood up. He struggled, he gritted his teeth, he groaned, but he stood up. He looked her in the eye and RIPPED out the sword from his leg with a loud cry, finally showing some pain. He gripped onto the sword as tightly as he could, not willing to let it go.

"...You do know you're scaring them." he muttered softly to the girl, then glared at her with fiery yellow eyes. "'Worse than those soldiers'? How many people, animals and homes have they destroyed just like the forest here? How many HAVE I destroyed? Stop talking like you know me. You don't. You won't. You will never."

Riot's soul took another drastic change as if seemed to turn even more ugly. "I don't need compassion from people at all. I don't WANT it either."

He stepped forward, ignoring the throbbing feeling in his leg, instead he was embracing the pain, letting it wash over his inner pain. To hell with all of this. He grabbed the blade of the sword and without hesitation rammed his entire palm into it, causing a shower of blood to erupt as he pushed it all the way to the guard and grabbing hold of it. Otherwise without any sign of pain, except the slight twitch echoing the pain he was hiding, he pulled the sword closer to him, in extension, the girl. When he was close enough, he opened his mouth.

"I never said anything about fighting. You want to stop me? Then KILL ME." he whispered a haunting challenge. Just as he had done so many time before, he sounded like he didn't have a care about his life at all. He looked at his burnt and bleeding hand, and his cauterized leg. "I hate this world and everyone in it, and I'm going to leave this place, by one way or the other."

Even despite man's desperate efforts to make Katelyn move, she didn't even budge when he injured himself any further. Katelyn didn't even listen what he shouted anymore, because she was completely sure of her being right. She quickly drew her sword back, when man declared that he wasn't afraid to die and this time she stabbed his shoulder and pushed to the near by tree. Normally it would be impossible for her to push a xigma since they were really strong, however previous leg injury now gave girl the upper hand.

"I'm not a murdered. Killing this forest was worst enough. Sorry, but try to understand that I can't let you through. You hate people and won't hesitate to kill some other race like humans for instance. They're not nearly as peaceful as xigmas and would most likely try you into their experiment because of your strength," Katelyn explained and pushed man to the ground making him to sit near the half burned tree.

"Now you're going to stay here until you change your mind or when portal closes," girl said and took down the cloak that covered her body (or what was left it at least) and then tied the man to the tree. Because of his injuries he without a doubt wouldn't be able to free himself even if he was xigma. Katelyn however was now left nearly naked. The clothes that had been underneath the cloak were bit revealing in first place and with all shots she had taken, there wasn't much left of them anymore. Not that Katelyn cared. She didn't know such thing as human modesty so she wouldn't even mind going naked. Animals after all didn't wear any clothes and none of them were embarrassed being naked.

Then girl went by the portal and sat down near it, guarding both it and the boy. Although she was exhausted and hungry, she had no choice but to wait when it will close now.

The girl drew back her sword from his hand and stabbed his shoulder, sending him backwards into a tree.

"I'm not a murderer. Killing this forest was worst enough. Sorry, but try to understand that I can't let you through. You hate people and won't hesitate to kill some other race like humans for instance. They're not nearly as peaceful as xigmas and would most likely try you into their experiment because of your strength," the girl explained and pushed Riot to the ground making him to sit near the half burned tree, where he spat in anger.

"Now you're going to stay here until you change your mind or when portal closes," she said and took down the cloak that covered her body, then tied him to the tree.

Then girl went by the portal and sat down near it, apparently guarding both it. Riot's fury boiled white-hot, but the animals around him began to tend to his injuries, licking his wounds clean, placing chewed leaves onto the cuts. Useless, considering the amount of damage done to Riot's muscles, but this act of kindness from his friends made him calm down. It was quite the scene, a lone injured Xigma surrounded by all those creatures. Just for a slight moment, it seemed as if it radiated with a faint shine of happiness. Nimbo rubbed its back against his binds and cut the cloak used to bind him. He moved his hand to rub and pat a few of the smaller animals, and even touching heads with a smile to those larger ones. With their help, Riot stood and limped his way to the girl.

When he was within earshot distance, he threw her torn up cloak at her with a disinterested look on his face, almost like he was bored.

"You killed the forest, and killing a person isn't any different. We all have souls." he had his angry frown trained on his face, before his mocking chuckle yet once again emerged from his sculpted lips. "Humans? Experiment on me? Whatever they are, they don't seem very nice. So what use if there to LIKE?"

"If everyone in this universe is the same as it is here, I'd rather STAY here then." he spat to the side. When he glared back at the girl, his eyes glowed again.

"I don't need your portal anymore." he told her bluntly, and surprisingly truthful before walking away with his small herd of animals.

After walking a short distance, he collapsed once from his injuries, before he got up with help from the animals. He gave one of the deers a rather desperate hug.

"I'm alright, I'm alright." he chanted methodically, a mixture of reassurance and sadness in his voice. "I can stand."

With a deep breath, he stomped onto his feet, causing blood to suddenly spurt out from the impact. He hissed through his teeth but continued to walk away with his animals, leaving a clear, bloody imprint of his sole against the earth. When it was time to leave them, he gave them each a light kiss to the head, making them leave. He then managed to climb, or to be honest, crawl, his way back up the hill and onto the ruins.

Making his way to the middle of the ruins, Riot folded his legs and sat there. Closing his eyes, he fell into a deep meditation that he had learnt and mastered from one of the murals in some of the ruins he had visited. An ancient meditation meant to completely heal oneself from wounds and sickness, at an incredibly fast rate. According to history... the meditation was used for warriors to heal quickly after a grievous fight... but oddly enough... were Xigmas fighters before?

Slowly, his flesh began to knit together by themselves, and even the cauterized wound on his calf was reforming into his originally smooth skin. Riot's eyes seemed to move underneath his eyelids and ever faint, it seemed that his eyes were once again glowing underneath his eyelids.

And this was confirmed when Riot opened his eyes suddenly, releasing a burst of yellow light when his eyelids lifted to reveal his eerie glowing eyes.
