Introduction
Unknown to most, a secret organization known as SPIRIT has been protecting humanity for years from Shade. But who or what is Shade? Shade is what we call the demon king, a demon as powerful as a god, and as ancient as time itself. Millenia ago, when man was young, he was banished to Shadowland, the home of all demons and other dark creatures of myth and legend. No one is quite sure why, but Shade cannot cross into the world of the living, and so he sends lesser demons, members of his ever growing demon army, into our world to reek havoc and bring chaos to our world in his stead.
It is said that if the world of the living is brought into a state of complete chaos, Shade will be able to cross over, and the End of Days will be upon us. All of humanity; people, cities, animals, plants, will be wiped from the face of the earth, and the demons will reclaim it as their own paradise.
Due to the fact that modern humans rarely, if ever, come into contact with demons, they have lost their ability to see them, and even worse, to fight them. However, on occasion, a person is born who has the ability to sense demons nearby, and sometimes even see and hear them. These people are the ones a man known only as Sir is looking for, and recruiting into SPIRIT. These people have the ability to use Soul Gems and to combat the demons. All ready Sir has a fair number of Gem users, but he is always looking and scouring the world for more.
Basic Info-
Soul Gems are a unique type of gemstone that, once they come in contact with a person who possesses a powerful soul, glow the same color as that persons soul. These gems amplify the owners abilities to control their spiritual energy, allowing them to create a physical manifestation of their soul. These manifestations can be almost anything, although the most common are weapons or armor. Another ability these gems grant is the ability to preform magic. The specific type of magic varies from soul to soul, but the most common are elemental, or just simple magic, things like creating fire or using pure magic to force something away.
All Soul Gems have two paths the owner can take. The first, and most common, is weapons master. This means that, once a person has mastered their weapon in it's first form, it can develope into a second, more powerful form for a period of time, depending on the strength of a persons soul and the amount of spiritual energy they posses. The second path is the magic master, where the owner is able to use much more powerful spells, but at the cost of furthering their soul weapons form.
The king of demons is trying to create chaos in the world and bring about the End of Days, the apocalypse. It is up to you, as a Soul Gem owner to defeat the demon king and his soilders. You can choose to be an existing member of SPIRIT or someone who has just discovered their abilities, who will soon be approached by Sir.
Your Soul Gem can be whatever color you want and be placed in whatever you want. They are usually placed in rings or pendants on necklaces, but basically it can be anything you can keep close to you at all times.

"This guy is alot tougher than I thought he would be..." Grave says quietly, kneeling on the ground, katana held tightly in his left hand. "I should have cut him several times by now, but there's not a scratch on him. I guess a normal weapon like this just won't do the job."
Standing before Grave, only a few yeards away, is a demon. More specifically, a tall, black skinned demon with glowing red eyes, horns like a billy goat, giant, tattered bat wings, and huge hands with long, claw-like fingers. As the demon looks down on Grave he laughs, then raises one clawed hand high into the air before bringing it down. The tip of the claws strike the ground where Grave was just a second earlier, however they aren't the real problem. Like most winged demons, this one has control of the winds, and as the claws touch the ground a strong whirlwind is created, and sent towards the man.
The wind drives Grave back, into the side of a building. As the bricks around him shatter in, and the wall begins to sag as they crumble away, a cloud of thick dust hides the man from the demons sight. While the demon begins to laugh and turn away, believeing he has won, the dust begins to settle, and Grave can be seen, kneeling, sword held back, pointed towards the building, with a red, armored arm held up like a shield.
"That's it wind demon, you've got me angry..." Grave mutters, standing up slowly, causing dust and ruble to fall from him. "Let's arm wrestle, I bet I'll win! Soul Gauntlet, second stage!" In a crimson flash, the red armor extends, to cover his entire right arm up to the shoulder. On each of the knuckles there is a two inch long spike, then another, wider one on his elbow, and three of them on his shoulder. "Come and get me!"
With a roar, the demon rushes towards Grave, wings outstretched, claws extended, and fangs exposed to gleam in the bright, silvery light of the moon. The winds begind to pick up, causing the clouds overhead to move in front of the moon, blocking out all light and sending the battlefield into darkness. There is a clashing sound as the claws meet with the gauntlet, and as the katana meets with the demons chest. While the katana simply bounced off before, this time it slides into the demons chest, piercing it's heart, and at the same time the spiked fist drives its way into the palm of the demon, splitting its arm in half up to the shoulder. as the blood begins to spray up from the mangled body, then to rain down on the SPIRIT agent, the clouds move aside, and the light shines down near by, illuminating a man with long silver hair, wearing a black suit and glasses, despite it being near midnight.
"Did you really have to shift your gauntlet into its second stage to defeat that one Grave? Maybe you're slipping..." Sir says, shaking his head, but smirking just the same.
"I'm not slipping, he just pissed me off. I hate fighting these tough skinned demons, my katana can't hurt them unless I unleash my Soul Gem..." Grave says, as in a flash of black, then crimson, the body of the demon dissapears into fragments of shadow, then Grave's gauntlet returns to the gem in his ring. "I don't get it. It didn't used to be this way, used to, I could just cut their damned heads off with my blade and not even have to show my Gem..."
His eyes are red again. He must be slipping faster now if all it took was this little demon to set him off like that... Sir thinks to himself, hiding his face with his arm as he runs a hand through his hair. "The demons Shade is sending out are just stronger, thats all it is. You've been killing his soldiers for years now, he's bound to have figured out how your Soul Gem works by now."

Belhaven's largest park never was given a name. Say to someone that you were "going to the park" and they knew well enough what you meant. Such a modern city had few verdant green spaces, and the ones that did exist were nothing to write home about.
Well, save this one, anyway. Eva was quite fond of it; though she could not see the trees, she could hear the wind through the leaves, and the rushing of a surprisingly natural water formation. The smell was better here, too; nothing as polluted as the rest of the industrious metropolis.
Presently, the college student found herself in the branches of a tree, having negotiated the climb without too much effort. Eva had always found that as long as she were careful, she didn't really need to see all that much, anyway. Reading was always a bit more of a problem, of course, but that was what audio files were for, right?
Speaking of audio... the young woman produced a flute from somewhere within the folds of her clothing, and, letting it hover a few inches from her lips, blew into the instrument, producing a clear, light tone. Swiftly, it flowed into several more within quick succession, and the relative silence of the park was filled with a tune not necessarily melancholy, but slightly somber, suited well for the night. A strange breeze kicked up, one that did not feel at all natural, and the instrumentalist felt a slight shiver run down her spine. Such things, however, were not exactly uncommon occurrences, and she had long since been taught to resist the instincts they called upon, to treat them as mere phantasms of her overactive imagination.
And so the music continued uninterrupted, the musician content for the moment to let whatever notes would come to her flow directly into the open. An old man passed, spotted the girl up the tree, and shook his head with a smile. This park was his home, insofar as he had one, but he was content to share it with one who would so kindly share her talent with one as humble as himself, and so he let it be.

In a small alleyway close to the park, Rege flicked aside the last of his filtered cigar as he felt the unnatural wind pass. His eyes flickered casually to the swaying trees, noting the unusual movement and barely concealed growls of a mass of minor demons. His soul gem jingled slightly in the wind, and stepping from the shadows the SPIRT agent called upon his beloved RuneFlare in preparation for combat. Normal humans couldn't see them, But Rege felt his anger grow as he strode forward from the potential of chaos they could inflict. He aimed upward at on of the trees with Rune and fired.
In seconds the tree exploded with savage screeches and agile frog-like bodies as the demons rushed to eliminate their new found threat. Rege blinked in surprise at the number of them, but recovered enough to bring both pistols into play. In only a matter of seconds Rege was finished, and without a second glance the agent turned to report his findings. Out from the corner of his eye, Rege saw a blur and instinctively brought his guns up in defense.
A scaled hand smashed into his guard and sent him flaying, his light frame crashing into a tree as the demon gave chase, eagerly seeking to finish off it's prey. Eye's full of spots, the gunman reacted, bringing his gun Rune up and drawing on some spiritual energy to release a blast of energy. A scream of rage announced his success, and after a quick shake to clear his head, Rege launched into a full out attack, revolvers thumping silently as it's bullets peppered the creature from afar. The demon recovered, reared back and unleashed a wave of flame intent on burning the park and all of it's inhabitants.
Flare came into play, the first shot dissipating the magical flames and the second exploding in a burst of brilliant blue flame. In that moment, with the creature recoiling from the sudden heat, Rege dove in and unleashed a furious barrage of bullets chopping the minor demon into pieces. Finished, the agent drew back his guns and stored them back into his soul gem. He lit a cigar and decided to take a walk in the park to celebrate.

"Bored, bored, bored, bored, bored" Luft kept repeating to himself while blankly staring at the sky. The SPIRIT agent was sprawled out on the roof of an apartment complex near the main park of Belhaven. It had been a quiet night, with no demons showing up on his patrol of the city. Slowly his eyelids grew heavy and within two minutes he was happily snoozing on the roof.
Luft slowly drifted back into consciousness, feeling something warm blowing onto his face. He slowly opened his eyes to find a demon that loosely resembled a gryphon staring back at him. "Hey! You were a lot prettier in my dream." He said with a smirk on his face. The demon shrieked back at him, raising its claw to swipe at the agent. Activating his gem, a gust of wind skidded Luft away from the demon's reach. "All right, enough pillow talk it's time to get serious" he said, getting up off the ground. At that moment blue lights surged out of the agent's hands turning into the form of two bladed tonfas. Creating a strong current behind himself, Luft jumped into the air stream and went flying towards the monster feet first. His shoes made contact with the monster's head and the result sent the thing skidding a good ten feet before hitting the apartment's ledge. Landing on his feet, Luft turned to the monster and shouted "From dusk till dawn, I'll always be ready to kick your ass!" "Ooh, That was a good one" he thought to himself, damn why did he always make the best one liners when no one was around. The demon stirred, sensing that it couldn't win against this prey it opened its wings and started to fly off. Sighing, Luft couldn't let the thing get away otherwise his teammates would never let him hear the end of it.
"All right, time to fly boys" He said to his weapons as they started to spin rapidly. Within seconds they were going at least 50 miles per hour. Throwing both of them towards the escaping demon, Dawn and Dusk quickly caught up and cut the thing into three pieces. Peering over the apartment ledge, Luft made out the corpse of the monster turning back into a shadow before hitting the ground. Raising both his hands in the air the tonfas handles landed in his palms. "Nice work as always boys" he said dismissed his weapons back into his soul gem. Walking back towards his messenger bag that he had left next to the roof's door, the agent grabbed his sketchbook and started to do a drawing of the creature he had just defeated.

"Yeah? Well, if you say so boss. You know more about Shade than anyone else, so I'll take your word for it." Grave says shaking his head, then looking up at the sky. "You sense anymore of them around here?"
Sir closed his eyes behind the dark lenses and began to concentrate. In his mind, a black eye opens up, and a sort of overhead view of the city comes into play. In one area there is a grey dot, reprisenting Rege's soul, and nearby there is a more faint white soul, an unknown human with high spiritual energy quite near Rege. Between these two dots several black ones, demons, can be seen, but then dissapear as they are killed. Further away, on the edge of the map created in his mind, Sir can see the blue dot, Luft. For a moment he and a black dot move around, then the black dot is gone and he becomes stationary once again.
"I can't see anymore right now, but the night is still young, so be careful." Sir says, opening his eyes and looking over at Grave. "If you want, go ahead and have the rest of the night to yourselves, I'll call if anything comes up."
"Sure thing boss, see you at home." Grave says, turning and wlaking off towards the park.
Home, for Grave and Sir both, is a large mansion on the southside of the city, which is also the headquaters for SPIRIT. All of the agents know how to get there, and are always welcome there. Because Grave has no family, he simply lives there with Sir full time, sleeping in the attic, which was turned into a room just for him. There are a few rules for being in the HQ, but the main one is, never go into the basement. Sir has never explained why, but Grave trusts him enough not to worry about it.
As soon as Grave is out of sight, Sit walks over to where the wind demon was killed and raises his right hand up, so that the palm faces out to the place where it died. In the center of his palm, a black eye appears, and as it fully opens the shadows the demon had turned into appear and get absorbed into Sir. Once all the shadows are gone the eye closes, and he turns away, heading for the area where Rege killed the group of lesser demons.

Eva, having finished her first piece of music for the evening, was considering playing another (only one person ever heard her all the way out here, anyway, and he didn't seem to mind) when she felt a chill run down her spine. That wasn't normal at all; usually, she was only bothered by the phantasms one a week or so, and the feeling would fade soon enough.
It was enough to make her replace the instrument into the belt loop it had come from, and still enough that she might focus her ears to the wind. A strange humming could be made out if she strained her ears, and the strains of it echoed in her head like some kind of dirge. Something like this had happened only once before, and that had been the day she could have sworn she'd almost died. As a girl of twelve, she'd though for certain that there was something in her room, something horrible, and she vaguely remembered flinging her hands out as if to stop it from approaching, and feeling some kind of warmth issue from her palms, after which the thing, whatever it was, had disappeared.
Dropping from her branch to the ground below, she had the strange desire to move towards the sound, and her feet carried her forward almost without her knowledge. The song was more audible now, and she was sure that anyone in the area could hear it. Come closer, little piper, whispered something, and Eva could have sworn it was in her head that she sensed the voice. Somehow, this feeling rooted her in place; she was suddenly unsure if she should continue.
Come now, there is no reason to fear me; I am but as you are, a humble musician. Do you not hear my song? the voice was sweet, contralto... it reminded her very much of her mother's tones. No, no something was very wrong. Eva shook her head to clear it of the thoughts that were not her own; the voice hissed angrily in response.
"I said, come to me! I wish to devour your soul!" This time, the presence was tangible, and another unnatural wind kicked up, sending Eva's hair flying out behind her and causing her to shield her face with an arm.
If Eva could have seen the demon, she would have known that it resembled very much a human being, save that it had the elongated neck, beak, and brown wings of a nightingale. As it was, all she knew was that there was something very, very wrong about it. Imagined or not, this creature felt far too real to ignore, and Eva stumbled backwards, tripping over her own feet in her haste and falling to the ground. Trying to scramble away proved significantly more difficult than she would have anticipated, and she tried not to panic.
Think about it, Eva... what did you do last time? You were scared, and then... Yes, that was it. She'd tried not to think about it, to encourage warm thoughts, to make the monster she could not see disappear forever.
A coolness, soothing in nature, issued from the bracelet about her left wrist, one her grandmother had given her as a girl, and she felt something materialize in her hand. This much at least was new, but she instinctively understood what it was. Lurching uncertainly to her feet, she hefted the sakabatou in one hand, then two, deciding that it was a bit too heavy for such a careless hold. Leveling it out in front of her, she realized with some trepidation that she had no idea how to use it, and hoped that whatever innate knowledge was driving her to hold it this way would help her use it too.
The beast laughed and rushed her. Eva squeaked and dove to the side, narrowly avoiding being hit. Her counterattack was about as effective as one would expect from a blind person who had no idea what she was doing, and Eva could not help but mourn the loss of whatever luck had gotten her this far. What am I supposed to do now?

The ashes simply dropped to the ground as Rege simply stood in surprise as the sudden flash of demon appeared in his senses, and with it, another flash energy. Unbelievably from a soul gem that he didn't recognize. The gunman never bothered to properly put out his cigar, instead flicking the still smoking stick ahead of him and stepping on it as he sprinted to the rescue.
Ahead he could see them, the woman clutching a black-edge sword and swinging in a futile counterattack as the winged demon hissed and drew closer. With no time Rege called upon RuneFlare and crossed them together. "Second stage!", at those words Rege's revolvers melded forming his more powerful rifle as he beat a path towards the creature.
The iron sights snapped up, and with only half a second the agent already had a "Flare" bullet on the way. A flash of blue flame, the sharp stench of burned flesh and the demon's hideous scream as the bullet scorched the demons raised claw. That second of recoil was all it took for Rege to slip in between the two and raise the rifle in the demons direction.
"Rune." He said calmly, and felt the kickback as the rifle fired. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the beast blasted into the sky and took the chance to calm the woman down. If she would stop swinging that blasted sword that is.
"Lady, calm down before you smack an innocent man with it." Rege said, "Lemme take care of this thing real quick, and then we'll have a talk about where you got that sword from.", Easier said then done. he thought turning back towards the demon. He was in some trouble now.

"Starting the party without me Rege?" Grave asks, walking up with his own sword drawn. He had been close enough to see the demon be blown into the sky, and so he had picked up the pace, drawing his sword as he began to run in it's direction. Did Sir miss this one or something? Grave had to wonder at that. Usually when Sir gave the all clear, he meant it. "I'll take care of this guy, protect the girl, and if I miss, you can shoot the both of us!"
Turning in the direction of the demon, who had now stabalized in the air and was begining to charge up its magic. As he watched a black ring appeared around its face that steadily grew larger and larger, and as it grew the things beak opened up and a black swirl of energy could be seen. It was preparing to send a powerful soundwave of magic towards their little group, and Grave was sure the song would not be a sweet one, and so, calling apon his Soul Gem he gained his gauntlet once more, in a crimson flash, and then reared back a clentched first and waited.
Grave didn't have to wait for long. With a screech that sounded something like a rooster trying to crow as it was tossed into a wood chipper, the swirling soundwave was shot towards them. All he could do was hope that the defensive properties of his gauntlet would be enough. As the soundwaved neared them, moving quickly, Grave swings his fit, hitting the swirling center, and with a sound like shattering glass the wave is broken up, and the spiritual energy which had been spent on the attack rebound at the bird demon. The only problem was, Grave had been caught by the sounds as well, and as they rebound back at the demon he falls to his knees, doubles over, and coughs up blood.
"That was...magic..." Grave says, in small gasps. "How can...a demon use...magic?"
Never before has a demon been able to do anything more advanced that elemental attacks, fly, and so on, no real magic. It was said by Sir that demons have no soul, and so no real spiritual energy, which is why they cannot preform magic. But, maybe this one was differnet. It did look rather human after all.

5 minutes later
"And done" Luft said, doing the final pencil stroke. Taking look at his finished sketch, he was quite happy with it, the picture captured the demon's presence quite well. Since he had begun working for SPIRIT, Luft found that keeping a compendium of stuff he had beaten showed off both his skill and helped SPIRIT keep tabs on the different types of demons. Putting his stuff away he wondered what he should do for the rest of the night, Sir would call if anything major popped up so he could just kill time until then. His stomach seemed to have other plans though calling out quite loudly for sustenance. "Headquarters it is then, they always have something decent to eat. Well that and the fact I blew my last cheque on that Bruce Lee ultimate collector's edition. "
With his messenger bag securely fastened to his back. Luft jumped up onto the apartment complex's ledge. "This time for sure!" he thought to himself, as he pulled a penny out of his pocket. Holding it out over the ledge he flicked it out his hand. Counting to one Mississippi, he then dived after it. Plummeting down 15 stories, he extended his hands towards the penny, it was only a couple of inches away from his grasp, sadly so was the pavement. Using his ability literally milliseconds before he would be a splat on the ground below, a strong current sent him in a arc back towards the sky. No matter how much he used his soul gem the feeling of awe and wonder never went away for Luft.
Gliding over rooftops, riding current after current he glanced around the city taking in all its sights, sadly he had to very cautious about his route making sure to stay away from the popular spots at night. The last thing that SPIRIT needed was public attention. The quickest way to headquarters would be to go through the park which meant having to stay grounded as lovers and health nuts would often make out/jog in the park at night. Finding an empty alley a block away from a park entrance, he brought himself down via a swan dive before quickly transitioning to a front flip landing feet first. He chuckled as his feet touched the ground. The way Luft saw it, what's the point of having the ability to manipulate an element if you can't have some fun with it?
As he headed into the park, Luft's mind drifted off to what he would eat at Headquarters. Sadly that thought process ended as soon as he heard familiar gunshot. From the sound of it , Rege had already put his weapons into their second state, a process which Luft was having trouble mastering.
Running in the direction of the shot, he began to sense a demon as well as a soul he had never felt before. As he got closer, he heard another shot and saw a figure go flying into the sky towards him . It looked human, well besides the wings and messed up neck it had. It caught itself in the air and was standing still, Luft could only see it's back but suddenly an annoying sound filled the air and a shockwave came out of its mouth down towards where he assumed Rege was. Suddenly another shockwave went flying back at the demon, sending it twirling. Seeing this as an great time to help , Luft summoned his weapons as he dashed into the sky to intercept it. Stabbing into the demon's back with Dawn and Dusk, he positioned it to face the ground before creating a very powerful gale between himself and the demon causing it to plummet. It hit the ground fast and hard leaving a wide crater. Gliding down towards his teammates he saw Grave crouched over and Rege was helping some girl. Landing quickly, he rushed over to the group. " Yo, are you guys ok?" He called out.

The next several occurrences happened quite a bit too fast for Eva to truly keep up. First, there was the appearance of a man with a gun... or was it two? No, she was almost certain it was but one weapon, but she couldn't say she'd heard gunfire often enough to be absolutely sure. Per the man's instructions (he seemed to have a handle on what was happening far more than she did) Eva lowered her sword and backed up even as two more people came and joined what surely must be a spectacular battle.
The last one, whomever he was, seemed to be able to fell the creature at last, though Eva personally thought it quite the team effort. They were speaking about things she did not understand, and so she tuned the out in favor of focusing on the creature itself. It was still breathing, the sound resembling someone blowing in and out of a harmonica, but the volume was weak, the tone tremulous.
Swallowing hard, Eva took slow steps towards the thing. It- no, she, the girl was fairly certain, wasn't much able to move, that much was clear. Negotiating the crater carefully, she came to kneel beside it. Unconsciously, a hand reached out, but the voice in her mind once again stopped her. Come to hear my death dirge, then, have you child?
Eva shook her head emphatically. "No," she replied softly, "nothing like that. I just..."
Hn. Well, whether that be your purpose or not, I go to my death, and my soul to eternal damnation. The demon shuddered, and Eva started to panic internally. Eternal damnation? Certainly, the creature had attacked her, but the bird-woman did not deserve that.
You think not? The voice replied with a touch of wry amusement. Well, then, I suppose you could always try using your gift on me and seeing what happens. Those men there are gifted, too, but differently. Try it and see.
Black eyebrows furrowed together on the girl's forehead. "What am I supposed to do?"
Try it and see. There was a reason I sought to consume you, child. Eva wasn't quite sure what to do, but she figured it couldn't be too different from making the sakabatou, so she did the same thing, thinking as many happy thoughts as possible, and trying to imagine also the spirit of this being not descending into the underworld, but flying instead. Pale fingertips brushed the feathered texture of the creature's wing, and instantly, it burst into pieces, each one gaining luminescence before blowing away on the wind.
Thank you, the voice echoed in her mind, as though at a great distance. Eva, confused, tried to stand, but abruptly collapsed again, drained of energy. Leaning heavily on her sword, she managed to push herself to her feet, but wavered unsteadily.
"What... just happened to me?"

Helping Grave to his feet, Luft saw that his teammate's irises had gone red again. He didn't notice the girl making her way over to the crater, she was at the foot of it before he turned around. "Hey!" he shouted, "stay away from that thing it's still dangerous."
Running towards her, Luft noticed she seemed to be talking to the thing. As she touched the demon it shattered into glowing pieces and drifted off into the sky. "What the hell kind of magic is that?" He thought as the pieces slowly disappeared. The girl slowly got onto her feet, clutching her sword as Luft approached her.
"What... just happened to me?"
Raising his hand to her he put up three fingers. "Good question, from what I can tell you have three options. One, you are having a dream, which would suck for me when you wake up. Two, you just met your knight in shining armour and before you ask, yes if you take that option I'm asking you on a date. Three, you may or may not have found out about the demons that currently work to end all humanity. I'm Luft by the way, Mr. Trigger Happy over there is Rege and ol' Red-Eyes behind me is Grave. "

"Luft, you're annoying her. Let's get her to Sir, I think she's about to collapse." Grave says with a sigh, covering his eyes with his hand. When he does this, he can feel an odd sort of heat coming from his eyes that bothers him a bit. "I know we all pretty much did after our first time..."
Although he can't actually remember the first time he used his Soul Gem, Grave does recall waking up in his bed at the HQ, his right forearm and hand red and raw. From what Sir said, he caled up his gauntlet, then smashed through a wall with it. His arm should have been broken, but somehow it wasn't. Because he had been training at the time, not a full member of SPIRIT, he had already been at the HQ, and so he hadn't been in any danger from a demon, which was good because he couldn't use his arm for the next couple of days. Of course, it had been different for both Rege and Luft, as he recalled. After all, they had weapon-types, not armor like him.
Reaching into his pocket Grave takes out his cell and hits the speed dial for Sir. As he moves the phone to his ear he can see the red leave his eyes, and he sighs once more, this time in relief. The phone rings...once...twice...three times...then Sir's voice comes on. Over the phone he has a voice that, to Grave, has always, for some reason, reminded him of sand in a silk bag.
"Hello? Grave, is something wrong?" Sir asks.
"Not exactly. There was another demon, but it was taken care of...in an odd way..." Grave answers, looking over at the girl with the sword again.
"Odd way? What do you mean?"
"Well, we found another Soul Gem owner, and she caused the demon to...shatter into light..."
There is a long pause, then Sir tells them to stay there, that he will come by and pick them up. Whenever he says something like this, he usually shows up with a limo stocked with chilled drinks and snacks. A way to sort of butter up his agents and calm things down. There is a click, first as Sir hangs up, then as Grave closes the phone, then puts it away.

"Pleased to meet you." The convention of courtesy had slipped out of her mouth before Eva could think of anything better to say. It sounded rather pathetic, really, but at least some of this was due more to the fact that she was exhausted enough that she was shaking where she stood than anything else.
She wasn't honestly sure to take the one called Luft; she was fairly certain he was joking, but could not be sure. Demons? Bent on the destruction of humanity? That made even less sense than her previous theory that she'd dreamed it all up, and was still dreaming. Actually, option 1 seemed the most likely, between that and three. Two... just struck her as a strange thing to say at a time like this.
She could readily hear one half of the phone conversation going on, and a bit of the other end as well, given her hearing. She had no idea who these people were, and was not so sure that she wanted to go anywhere with them, but she doubted very much that she had a choice. They had taken down that... bird-woman, after all, something that she had failed spectacularly at.

"Pleased to meet you." She responded back. Luft went to open his mouth but Grave interjected.
"Luft, you're annoying her. Let's get her to Sir, I think she's about to collapse I know we all pretty much did after our first time."
"I am not, I'm winning her over with my charm ." Luft turned to face Grave and responded with a giant grin. "Also when I first used my gem I didn't collapse. I crashed into the side of a building there's a big difference. " That happened on his first day of training, with Luft managing to give himself a concussion, three cracked ribs, and a broken leg. He apparently broke SPIRIT's record for most injuries during training thanks to that stunt.
Grave turned away and pulled out his cell to call Sir. Luft had been a member of SPIRIT for two years now and he still barely knew anything about their leader. He considered asking Grave about him; he had been in SPIRIT since he was a kid, and even lived with the guy. However, even Luft could guess that Sir would want to hear what happened from all the agents involved as well as the girl. At least that meant a limo ride where he was free to raid the mini-fridge. Sitting down on the grass, Luft grabbed a fully grown dandelion, calling up a small gale that made the seeds spiral around him.

(was waiting for inferno, but it's been 3 days since his last post...)
"You need anything miss?" Grave asks, walking over to the girl, gently pacing his hand on her shoulder. "They call me Grave. I know it's hard to believe this, but that woman was a demon. The man coming to get us, Sir we call him, he's a good man. He won't hold you against your will, but until this is all sorted out, I suggest you plan on staying with us, alright?"
He was sure Luft has mentioned something about the demon, and it had probably scared the girl. Grave knew for sure what true fear was, and he didn't like anyone else to know it. And so he stayed with the girl until he could hear the limo arriving, along with Sir. Raising a hand he flags the driver over to their location, then opens the door, and once they are all inside the limo takes off.
As he has thought, Sir is in the back waiting for them, sitting alone on the far side. In one side of the car there is a chilled cooler with drinks, on the other side there is a cabinet with snacks. "Hello Miss," Sir says kindly, giving the girl a warm smile, though he knows she can't actually see it, "I understand you own a valuable gemstone of some sort, correct? Maybe that diamond there?" Another of Sir's mysterious abilities, able to know where and what a person's Soul Gem is. "It was passed down to you, correct? Did you know that is is the key to your soul?"
"Take it easy on her Sir," Grave says abruptly, "She's been through a lot..."
After Grave was taken in by Sir, it was a while before he could talk about what had happened. The doctors had all began to ignore his words, so he didn't talk anymore. But then he had overheard Sir talking to someone about him, about his parents, and the memories all flooded back. The fact that Sir had been so blunt about it hadn't helped anything either.

OOC Notes
Before she really had the chance to think about it, Eva found herself in the back of what she took to be a limousine. It smelled of new car, and the seats were a smooth, rich leather.
She could hear the smile in the words of the man called "Sir," but wasn't honestly sure if she felt at all relieved or comforted by this fact. Truly, he was describing the same sort of thing as Luft had earlier, so unless this was some kind of group delusion or an elaborate lie crafted to draw her in, she'd have to accept that it was true. None of them really seemed crazy, or at least not any more so than she generally thought herself to be, and she could see no reason to use such a tactic if their goal was to take her somewhere. She'd proven that she was highly incapable as a fighter, and what reason would anyone have for wanting to kidnap her anyway? She was nobody important.
At the mention of her diamond, Eva's hand slipped unconsciously to the bracelet at her wrist. The silver was always cool and smooth, the stone carefully cut so that it was not in a traditional setting, but rather almost an inlay, and she traced the swirling pattern it made with a finger as she tried to absorb all the new information. Grave, he'd said his name was, tried to make Sir slow down, but Eva shook her head.
"Demons... is that the right name for my nightmares then? Always, as a child, I would think I could hear things at night... sense things. If I wished it hard enough, though, they always went away." Eva's voice was soft, uncertain. She knew not if they were the same thing, and if they weren't, she could very well be setting herself up for ridicule, but she had to know for sure.
"The key to... my soul?" Eva couldn't say that made any sense, but then none of this really did, and she found herself believing it all the same.

Jumping into the limo after Rege, Luft quickly eyed the snack cabinet. Quickly glancing over at Sir he was busy talking with the girl about her gem. He reached over and pulled out a bag of potato chips. Opening it as quietly as possible. He began to stuff his mouth with them.
"Demons... is that the right name for my nightmares then? Always, as a child, I would think I could hear things at night... sense things."
The girl's statement sent Luft's mind drifting off into his past. He had his first encounter with a demon when he was thirteen. The limo must have hit a pothole because Luft's head hit the roof the car, losing his train of thought he looked down at the chip bag, it was empty. Grabbing another bag, he glanced over at Grave. "Psst Grave, you mind passing me a drink" Luft whispered not wanting to interrupt Sir.

OOC Notes
When the pothole came, Sir had somehow been ready for it, or so it seemed. He waited until they passed it to speak again. "Yes, nightmares are common in people who have higher levels of spiritual energy, but it's hard to say which are real and which aren't. From what you've said, and what I've gathered from your fight earlier, it seems demons have been targeting you for a while now, because of your magical powers..." Sir said this quietly, as if deep in thought.
Grave had been listening carefully, not wanting Sir to spook the girl, and when he heard Luft he jumped slightly. "Hm? Oh, right, here, this oen alright?" He responds, quietly as well, picking a drink at random and handing it over to him, then grabbing one for himself, and another, which he offers to the girl. "Are you thirsty?"
Outside the city passes by quickly. Belhaven is a rather large city, but for those who know all the secret passages and back allies, it become much smaller, sometimes too small. Soon the mansion appears outside the deeply tented windows of the limo, and if one were to look at the time they would find it was around one in the morning. For agents of SPIRIT, this was calling it an early night. Often they would stay out so late they would sleep all the next day, save for Sir, who seemed to never sleep, or even rest.
A man in a black suit opens the gate for the limo to pass through. Of course, the gate is a rather fancy one that can open with the push of a button, but when you have demons after you, extra security doesn't help. In fact, Sir has somehow been able to place a ward on the mansion and it's grounds, so that no demon may get close enough to it to do any damage.

Eva was finding it all a bit too much to believe reasonably, but somehow she did anyway. "I see..." she trailed off in thought until Grave's voice broke her out of it, though he was asking quite the random question, or so it seemed without being able to see the gesture that accompanied it. After a second or two, though, she managed to figure it out, and nodded with a fair dose of embarrassment coloring her face a slight pink.
"Oh, um... right. Yes, thank you," she managed, accepting the can of something (she knew not what) just as the car hit a rather large pothole. Letting out a small 'meep' of surprise, Eva bounced significantly in her seat, though not quite enough for her head to hit the ceiling as she heard Luft's doing.
Well, that had been... interesting. You would think a city with the resources of Belhaven would be able to afford such infrastructure, but apparently this was not so. Tapping the can gently so that its contents might not fizz out, she opened it with the characteristic hissing and pop of a soft drink. Tasting delicately, she was pleased to discover that it was orange-flavored. She'd long had a fondness for orange soda.
As they passed under the barrier, Eva felt a slight shift in... something, and was somehow better able to relax, as though some weight had been removed from her mind. It was an odd sensation, and left her with an unusual lightness. Whatever it was, she supposed it meant that they were there.
The question was: what now?

OOC Notes
"Thanks man." Luft simply said as Grave handed him a drink. Opening the can, the taste of cherry diet cola filled his mouth. He would have spat it out where it not for him being in a limo along with the fact that Grave had been nice enough to get a drink. Swallowing the liquid, the bitter aftertaste stuck onto his tongue. Between this and the bump on his head, the limo ride ended up being pretty crappy for Luft.
As the limo passed through the main gates , Luft glanced over the girl, she was happily enjoying a can of orange soda. His mind was constantly going over what she had done to that demon over and over. He'd never seen anything like that before and couldn't help but wonder what other abilities her soul had.
"So Miss... , um sorry I didn't catch your name, do you know exactly what you did to that demon cause I'm stumped and it's been bugging me this whole time." Luft said. Glancing over at Sir. "Also are you going to offer her a job here Sir? The way I see it, the more women we have here, the better the shot I have at getting a date." He said smiling.

Grave shook his head at Luft. He was always joking around, and you got used to it, but it was still slightly annoying at the same time. However, he had to admit, he was curious about the girl as well. By the time he had arrived the demon had already been sent flying, and all he really got a good look at was it's attack, a macgical one at that. Demons aren't supposed to know real magic. He would have to ask Sir about it later.
"Yes, I was going to wait until we were inside, but since you ask, I am offering her a job." Sir says, giving Luft a tired sigh before turning back to the girl. "Now, miss, you don't have to take this job, but it would be in your best interest. The demons will come after you weather you work with us or not, and so I think it would be best if you stayed with SPIRIT, our organization...at least until you learned to control your Soul Gem properly."
For the moment, there was nothing else to be said. The limo had arrived. They were now inside the huge garage built into the side of the mansion they called home. There were three limos in there, and many more cars besides that. It seemed that Sir was a fan of muscle cars, and the very old types of cars. He was lucky enough to have a Ford Model T hidden away here, and while he never drove any of them, and would let no one else drive them either, he has purchased one for each of his agents personal use, though the are kept elsewhere. Once the doors are open Sir steps out, then helps Eva out as well, and once Grave and Luft are out they all head inside.
The living room, where they go, is a huge, open room with fine leather furnature, hard woods tables, shelves of books, and a huge fire place, which now has a roaring blaze going in it. Aside from that there is, of course, the largest television money can buy, with an entertainment system built around it. Hidden in the cabinets of the system are one of every gameing system to be produced, something else Sir is rather fond of.

Spiral liked to run, or rather, she was supposed to like to run. A late-night run for milk went well enough at first; casual stroll to Convenience R'Us, paid for milk and cookies then went on her merry way. The perfect ending of warm milk n' cookies eaten near the fireplace at home was completely obliterated by the furry demon with fangs that was currently bounding after her heels. A nip from a fang scrapped her shoulder, eliciting a curse from Spiral before increasing her pace. It was funny how fast you could run when your life depended on it.
With a heavy plastic bag flailing at her side, Spiral skidded on her heel, the old, worn sole nearly giving way. Luckily for her, Spiral was never the heavy one, turning from one direction and skidding across the corner. Unfortunately for the demon chasing her, the furry mass was much to heavy to stop itself and crashed into side of a building. What building, Spiral didn't quite care, so long it wasn't her home or herself.
Slowing her gait, Spiral looked on at the wreckage. Bricks were crushed and crumbled but it looked like the wall was only going to suffer from a slight dent. Good for the wall, but not for Spiral. The over-sized, over-furry, demon only took a moment before restarting it's hunt.
Abandoning her milk and cookies, Spiral whipped out a bundle of rope, unwinding the length until a sharp metal dart was hissing through the air in figure-eight patterns. No point in running, Spiral mused as she allowed more and more rope out. That thing wasn't going to go down unless she took it down.

Eva realized from Luft's comment that she hadn't actually introduced herself, and felt a bit ashamed at the thought. Certainly, her parents had taught her better manners than that. "My name is Eva-" she began, but lapsed into silence once more as Sir spoke.
A job? Something about controlling her powers? But... Eva hadn't even known she had powers, at least not until today. The way he said it was in her best interest... that made it sound like it might be dangerous for her to keep on going the way she had before, but nothing of this magnitude had ever bothered her before.
Or had it? Those demons she'd encountered as a child; they'd vanished if she'd been able to summon the right thoughts, the same ones she used to make this one disappear too. Had she been doing that sort of thing all along? No... surely not. Even so, she was becoming a bit more amenable to the idea of being around people who seemed to know what they were doing.
But was she really willing to leave the life she had now behind? She was working to become a doctor, something she thought was important to her, and would help people besides. Presently, the only roommate or friend she really had was her cat, but there were at least a few people who would notice if her schedule changed.
As Sir helped her out of the limousine, she answered at last. "Will I be living here? Does this mean I have to stop going to class?" She didn't mean to ask too many silly questions, but at this point she was till undecided as to her course of action, and wanted to be absolutely sure what she was getting into before she said yes out of concern for her safety alone. "...and what exactly would I be doing?"

Happily jumping onto a leather couch in the living room, Luft sprawled himself out over it. He felt another nap coming on hopefully this one would not be interrupted by a Demon. Luft couldn't help being sleepy, he had been trying to sell some of his art at the park all day. He ended up only making about twenty bucks, but he was happy at least that meant some people liked his art. He saw Grave, Eva and Sir walk about the living room for a bit before his eyelids grew too heavy. Falling asleep to the crackling fire, Luft dreamed of random things with the occasional mummer coming out his mouth.
OOC Notes
As Sir walked and spoke with Eva, Grave decided she was safe enough, that he wouldn't scare her too much, and so he headed into the kitchen to make a quick dinner. Although not sure if either of them were hungry, and fairly certain Luft would be out for the rest of the morning, he decided on something small and simple, but that would take him long enough to give the others time to talk. Pancakes would work, since he never made them from a box, and they were fairly easy.
-=-
"Although I would like you to spend the night tonight, just in case you suffer from any backlash due to using your powers, I will never force you to stay here. You can live where you like, and do as you like." Sir began to explain, "I won't ask you to give up your life, only that you come here, prehaps at night, like tonight, and train with the others. In this way, you will be able to control the gifts you have been given, and be better able to protect yourself from the demons."
Sir had lead them over to a couple of large, leather chairs that were a bit overstuffed. It was near the fire, and they had a seat in them as he spoke, and afterward he paused, allowing her to speak her mind.
-=-=
Suddenly, the furry demon lets out a cry as it's fur catches fire. There are flames and smoke, and it curls up into a ball and rolls around until the fire is out, then it turns away from Spiral to see a tall man, who's hands are engulfed in flames, and, who strangely, has several feathers on strings hanging from his shoulders.
The feathers flutter back as the man lifts his hands towards the demon and fire begins to swirl before them, creating a small orb, which turns and grows as it does so. Soon the fireball is a few feet in diameter, and so he launches it at the demon, who attempts to dodge it, unsuccessfully. There is a cry of pain, and a bright flash, then the air is filled with ash and the smell of burnt fur as the demon shatters into shadows and begins to dissapear, leaving the man, Chimera, standing a little ways off from Spiral, looking over at her with a slightly angry look.

Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
Bah, sorry I haven't been around to post. Things have been a bit hectic around here so I promise to make a post as soon as I have time to. Sorry!
Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
Thanks guys :D, I'm really glad that you guys enjoy him. It's been really awsome to do this RP with all you guys. It's so nice to have such an awsome group of characters and Players.
Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
I gotta agree with Kuro on this. He's funny even when he's not supposed to be, and I think makes a great contract to Grave, since, while I do have Grave make an occasional joke, the character doesn't try to be funny outright, but just sort of does it, like Luft's personality rubbed off on him over the years.
Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
I find him generally hilarious. Whether or not the individual jokes are funny is less important I think than the fact that he is constantly cracking them. I think it's actually a really striking contrast with some of the other characters, who are very serious, and I like Luft for that reason (sometimes, I actually laugh more when the jokes aren't funny, or at least when people don't get them, because that's comedy too, just on a different level).
Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
Thanks man I just found it a couple days ago. Now on an RP related note I would like some feedback about Luft, he's my first attempt at writing for a character who uses comedy often. So I often worry that his jokes aren't funny etc... So I would like to hear from you guys if you think my writing could use some improvments.
Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
lol, I like your new avatar Iandak...and like Grave said, if he weren't so tired he'd punch you ^_^
Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
No, no he does not. I'm personally amazed none of your guys characters have smacked him yet. :p
Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
*snickers* Luft doesn't waste time, does he?
Also, I agree with chinaji. I'm actually kind of waiting for Dmitri to smile. It will be... interesting, I think.

Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
I think we all love Dmitri despite the fact that he's a world renowned thief that can't even crack a smile.
Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
Sooo... who's next?
Also, glad you're all amused. It's hard trying to write someone so serious when all I want to do is laugh at all the silly things he does. XD

Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
Feel free to not wait for me to post, I doubt Luft can really add anything to the conversation at the moment.
Side note: Dimitri giving Spiral a piggyback ride made me chuckle :D

Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
While typing my post, the image of Dmitri giving Spiral a piggy back ride popped up into my head....I laughed.
Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
Sure thing. If I get a full idea I'll add a link, and if we get to a certain point with this rp I'll start planning a sequal, though I think it's very possible.
Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
It's hard to find people that regularly reply to RP. It's great to find a group that has found a rhythm to it rather then let it die.
As for a new RP, as long as it's either complicated, twisted, convoluted, or plain ironic, reserve a spot cause I'm in. Also, if you really are planing a sequel to this (which I think might be the case. Don't want to jinx it though) I wouldn't mind tagging along again as Spiral.

Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
I may be interested in doing an alchemy RP Soul, let me know if you get it running, I'm really glad that this RP been doing so well , I'm really enjoying it!
Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
Would anyone be interested in trying an alchemy rp? Not and FMA, but, well, remember that rp we were in a while ago Kuro? The one where alchemy was caused by using the electrical signals of the body and all that? I'd like to try and think up something similar to that for an rp, but I'm coming up dry dfor inspiration...
I had one idea for plot though...something happens, a world war maybe, in modern times, and the world as he know it is changed forever because of it. People in this new world learn alchemy, some version of it, like maybe it's a magical process or something...
Anyway...yeah.
I'm still glad to see everyone is posting in this rp. Usually my rps fall flat after about 10 posts ^_^'
I had one idea for plot though...something happens, a world war maybe, in modern times, and the world as he know it is changed forever because of it. People in this new world learn alchemy, some version of it, like maybe it's a magical process or something...

Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War
I gotta say, it's really fun reading the Dmitri and Spiral posts. You guys are like a weird comedy duo or something, even when you're being all serious and badass and stuff.
The Spiral and Dmitri show... slaying demons, robbing mansions, eating cookies, and utterly failing to communicate." XD
Sorry; just had to throw that out there. And Sir is creepy. That is all.

Re: [OOC] Soul Gems: SPIRIT War

Alright, so here's Sir's true form as a Voidwalker...or stalker, I don't remember which. Also, I'll reveal his demon name soon as well.
