Introduction
Time rolls on as it always does, a never-ending fashion that only fools try to stop. In this time, so many years forward, it is only to be suspected that new technologies, fashions, fads...that they all are in constant evolution as it is at the present.
A large company as taken control of all these trends. A new product called a Soulie that has captured the attention of every age group. The Soulie provides escape from reality, taking shape of a crystal, jem, stone, metal, pendent, anything as a Soulie Stone is as unique as it's wearer, transforming itself to satisfy it's master. This wonderful piece of jewelery can offer a sanctuary for any and all, bringing the soul of the wearer to it's own personal paradise; a world away from the world.
Nearly all in the world has a Soulie is some shape or form and it is in Danksion City from which this new technology was founded. In fact, so popular the Soulie has become in Danksion City, the city is often nicknamed 'The Soul City.'
From its automatic personalization, it's rather cheap pricing, and the great sanctuary it provides for resting the soul, there is not a single bad thought about the Soulies. Of course, that is what illusions do when reality is left behind for a paradise. A paradise where there is no one by yourself. A world devoid of love, or friendship; just yourself.
Several years after the initial release of the Soulies, after sales had sky rocketed, after nearly everyone had acquired a Soulie of their own, curious things happened; the soul no longer returned to the body. Deaths of this type were, in the beginning, ignored, but when more and more people died from use of a Soulie, reality had to take action against the illusion of a perfect sanctuary for the soul. Reality however, lost.
You, my friend, live in Danksion City, by the looks of your records. I cannot stress how glad I am to see someone like you so healthy, despite your Soulie. You see my friend, even all the warnings against the Soulie and it's use, no one could stop. It was an addiction like that to drugs expect, this war was impossible to fight. If I were to draw a chart out for you, the graph will show you that the majority of death's caused by Soulies has decreased to this point. Your confused? Well, you see, there are only so many left of the population that there isn't enough people to die like it did before. If I were to guess, there would only be around....2 million people left in this nation.
I wish you well my friend, as even though I am a doctor, I still use my Soulie...Haha, yes, I can't stop! No one can really... This will be my last time talking to you, my Soulie calls.

The nation of the US has a population now reduced to about 2 million after the mass death's caused by to much use of an individual's Soulie. All technologies are still running though, and those still living can live rather comfortably.
Danksion City itself is a large urban city , an equal to New York city.

That, Catherine, is an excellent idea. It would be as simple seconds would be quite the effect on the mind of the human's reality though, if you know what I'm trying to say.

I just wandered - and its upto as your the boss =D - what if ... Like the People just sort of day dreamed or, you know just slept like you said... But only seconds or whatever pass in the real world but you could of been in paradise for a week? Its just an idea :)
Also I wanted to ask your permission for my character to have a child, and for me to controll it. Though it would only be a toddler? What do you think? Thankyou x

Alright, your free to start whenever it suits you. I'll jump in to GM anything when it seems like the right time.

It's ok! Ok, I think I understnad all of that now. Just one more question from me, not sure if Catherine has some more, but when they're in their own paradise, how much time will have passed in the reality world? Because surely if they're stood in the reality world, staring into space for hours, it might be a bit odd. Just a thought! :)

Catherine: The time that people are in reality is dependent on how far their soul is already in their Soulie. Before becoming totally immersed into their Soulie, it could be said that they spend a relatively normal time doing things such as socializing and working. Jobs are rare with the dying population, but are still available in more crowded cities. As for the time, it is only a few years since they stopped production, but there are still plenty out and around as they were all produced in surplus. It is impossible to reuse a Soulie that had belonged to someone else.
Tigger: Soulies are, in a way, highly addictive. There is always a degree of resistance from everyone, but some are just born with more and some will fall to it's addictive nature quite quickly. The remaining population are only trying to use them less and hopefully break away from them. It would be alright if you were to create a character that had already broken away from his/her Soulie.

Another thing that has occured to me is time scale? How long has it been since the Soulies started killing people? If you are born after the company shut down can you still aquire a Soulie? Pehaps from a family member?

I think the plot to this is absolutely brilliant! Just a few questions on my part, in addition to those that Catherine has already asked.
Is everyone addicted to the Soulies or can some resist them? (Not that I intend to have my character completely resisting in the slightest.)
Also, are people starting to attempt to create a resistance against the Soulies, or is the remaining population just trying to use them less than they were before?

Hiyaa, This soryline does sound awesome. I am just wandering, how oftern are people in the reality world? Do people still have jobs, houses, keep up family relationships etc? Obviously if they havent been killed...
