Introduction

Introduction:
The year, for humanity, is 180 AFC: After First Contact. Earth and her colonies are now a member state of the Galactic Alliance, an economic and political union of various countries and species across the galaxy. What was once a strongest supernation in the world, the Galactic Alliance now faces economic depression and political chaos, brought on by the now twenty year old war against the largest military force the galaxy has ever known: The Zerak Empire, lead by a single race, the Zerakodians. They are blessed with powers of the mind, as are many of the galaxies sentient species, telekinesis, control over nature and her elements, and even the power to invade one's thoughts. Their powers, mixed with their impeccable social and political control over their conquered worlds make the Zerakodians a powerful foe for the chaotic Galactic Alliance. Humanity must do all it can, along with it's fellow Alliance species, to rid the world of the Zerak Empire. Of course, amidst the chaos is the Duchess, a pirate vessel, ignorant of the political state of the worlds or what war is being fought where. The Duchess and her crew are, or were, pirates of all species and origins, all joined in the hopes of making illegal profit. Unfortunately, the Duchess and her crew have been experiencing slight difficult on the profit front as of late, and after another spectacularly self-defeating adventure, they head to the planet of Anisary Eight, the city capital of the Galactic Alliance, in hopes of rebuilding their ship and recruiting more able-bodied crew mates...

The so called servant species of the Posonids, coming from the same homeworld, are the Oradess, who have been slaves in Posonid culture for hundreds of years. The Galactic Alliance, though generally disapproving of the Posonid slave trade, allows it to flourish throughout Alliance planets, due to their reliance on Posonid economic strategy and their colonies bustling economies. Having been exposed to the world just ten years ago, the Cavenians have a generally less knowing, and less fearful view of what the galaxy has to offer. Now, even their home world has fallen into decay, with most Ensindijee surviving off scavenging to survive and make profit with the world beyond their skies. Still, the supremacy of the Empire lives on in their culture, and the belief that their King holds power on a galactic level is still prevalent. Since then they have colonized many worlds, have built up a modest military, and have had continuos prosperity for their people. Since their emergence they have been recognized as an eager species, impatient to advance and prove their worth to the galaxy, which other species have seen as a threat. This problematic division has caused their diplomacy with the Galactic Alliance to be nearly nonexistent. They have averaged sized, colorless eyes and large sensitive ears and snouts used for finding their way in darkened underground tunnels. The Engreint homeworld is inhospitable topside to living creatures. Only underneath the planet can any living species thrive, which is where the Engrients built their civilization. They have large tusks jutting out of their lower jaw and smooth slimelike skin. They shift from walking bipedal and quadrapedal, whatever gets them around quickest. Their hands bear large claws used for digging tunnels underground. On all fours they stand at around eight feet tall and on their hind legs they stand roughly at nine feet. They weigh around three hundred to four hundred pounds.

Humans
Home World: Earth
Human Culture, The Galactic Alliance:
The Humans are a young, economically depressed species. Having made first contact less than two hundred years ago, Humanity is the third youngest advanced species in the galaxy to have emerged. In their time they have managed to build up a sizable military and create a moderately sized colonial empire. Throughout their galactic history weak economic policies have caused depression and poverty to be rampant within the Human colonies, and often times they have been accused of hurting the Galactic Alliance more than they benefited it. In the war with the Zerak Empire they have avoided battle when possible, often taking a defensive approach, as opposed to the aggressive stance of the front lining Enofha, who Humanity considers to be it's greatest rival.

Nesros
Home World: Shoeka
Nesros Culture, The Galactic Alliance:
The Nesros are the founding species of the Galactic Alliance. Though throughout history they have been a weak and uninfluential species, with the formation of the Galactic Alliance they managed to gain the title of the Galaxy's most civilized species. The suns gleamed off the metallic buildings that lined the street, as above and below them thousands of ships and cruisers flew in the bustle of the midday. Among the ships, descending onto a large, skybound docking platform was the Duchess, a large, multi-floored grey-brown ship, it's paint stained and it's armor bent and riddled with massive, cannon shaped holes. A raging fire exploded from the back of the Duchess as the smoke engulfed ship literally crashed down into a docking space. Following a few minor hiccup explosions, the doors of the vessel opened, and out of them fell a fat, massive, bearded Rajako with a wooden pipe in his mouth, following him silver, feminine android. A docking official looked over the two, and their suspiciously broken ship, before adjusting his cap and walking over to the two.

"Excuse me!" The official said as he approached the two freaks. "Excuse me, citizens! What is this vehicle?" He asked.

"A ship, clearly," The Rajako muttered, his voice low and authoritative.

"Yes, but is it a registered ship?" The official asked. "Are you citizens of the Galactic Alliance, and is your ship registered? If not I'm afraid you two will have to come with me."

"Of course it's registered!" The Rajako laughed heartily. "My name is Piemar Piemarus, and this is my second mate, Robony," He said as he pointed to the android. "This is our ship, the Gingerbeer. Registration code eight two two o' twenty."

"Right," The official muttered as he glanced down to his holopad. After a second of searching he had found what he was looking for. "....Right," The Officer continued, glancing up at the Rajako. "It... seems to check out. Enjoy your stay, Captain Piemarus. Is this your entire crew or?"

"This is it!" The Captain replied hastily, "And this is indeed all there ever will be, or were!"

"...Right," The official muttered again. "Well Captain, enjoy your stay, as I've said. The Gingerbeer will be in good hands."

The Rajako gave the man a friendly smile before walking off down the skystreet, the android beside him. However, the Rajako was in fact not a Captain Piemar Piemarus, the android beside him was not a robot named Robony, and their ship was indeed not the Gingerbeer. No, instead they were the dreaded Captain Beth, his devious first mate android Stata Facta, and the greatest pirate ship the Galaxy had ever known, the Duchess. Unfortunately for Captain Beth, the Duchess was not living up to that title as of late.

"We wouldn't have to make up the entire crew if not for that Kalzani crisis," Captain Beth muttered to the android as they walked along the street. "Good men, all fifty one of them. Of course they're easily replaceable, the damage to the Duchess on the other hand! Outrageous! Still, first things first... we need a crew, and I think I know the perfect place to find the types of sorry saps we need."

Yuwen Mare sat at his table quietly, barely looking up from his plate of Berbinian barnacles and Aloe Brandy. When he did look up he saw the tavern was crowded with species from all parts of the galaxy, most of them armed and dangerous looking, and, Yuwen was willing to bet, mostly not on the law's side. Yuwen shook his head of the thoughts, deciding to instead ignore the obviously shady establishment he had gotten lunch in and rather eat. "Berbinian barnacles... I'd almost rather starve," The Holahan muttered, before taking a bite of the food he had ordered for himself...

Among the various patrons miserably sitting at the tavern, was a weathered looking maroon Engreint, sporting a Zerakodian jacket. He sat hunched over the counter his right arm reaching out to grab his frothy, sickeningly yellow mug of ale. "It's way too early to be drinking this bile..." Brufflin snorted, drowning himself in his pus colored ale. He took a quick browse at the menu and made a sneering face. "Cysteriun Salami?" Brufflin sniffs. "Well, that's practically cannibalism..." After another glance, he raises a claw and flags down the bartender, a scarred grizzled looking Omenus. "Keep the ale coming this way. And a platter of Wrileen hoardcrab maws." Brufflin chugged down the rest of his current mug of ale and raised the mug in the air when he was through, peering at the mug thoughtfully before dully devouring it with a chomp.

The bartender arrived minutes later, placing a platter of unappetizing looking food in front of the Engreint along with his drink. Brufflin placed his nostril's against the dish taking a whiff of the maws, before wolfing them down. With a belch and a quick glance at the other patrons, Bruffllin picked up his new mug of ale, gathering his thoughts. "Anisary Eight," he grumbled. "Heh. doesn't have the most conspicuous of seedy criminal underbellies, does it?" he asked, taking a swig of ale, noting the tavern's numerous bizarre looking patrons. With a grin, Brufflin slammed his mug back down on the counter. "Perfect place to start fresh!"

"You want to start fresh, my friend?" Yuwen asked as he approached the counter with his empty plate. "You came here to start anew? So, out of all the places on Anisary Eight, you came here? To this tavern?" He asked with a raised eyebrow to the Engreint.

Brufflin raised an ear in Yuwen's direction, listening to the Holahan speak, though not turning around to look at him. "I didn't exactly have a choice. Ship got caught in a bad firefight. Was un-salvageable. Ditched it and found my way here," Brufflin explained. "What about you, uh..." Brufflin paused to sniff the air. "Holahan, is it? What got you to go and have a pint at this Vleeboe's ass of a tavern?"

Brufflin's face curled into a snarl for a moment, before quickly simmering down to a smirk. As much of smirk he could give with his two large tusks. "Yeah, I know 'em," Brufflin answered. "Here. Let me introduce you," Brufflin grinned, kicking Yuwen's ankle with his hind leg, causing him to fall backwards onto a table where a group of three particularly detestable looking Vleeboes were gambling. Their holo-card dispensers, dice, and drinks all fell to the floor as they sat up slowly and began encircling Yuwen. Brufflin merely shook his head and placed money on the table, attempting to make his leave.

"Hey jackweasel! You ruined my game!" One of the Vleeboes snarled as they grabbed Yuwen by the collar and raised him into the air. The Vleebon swung at Yuwen, who ducked beneath and kicked his attacker back into another table, causing the majority of the tavern's patrons to take notice of the fight. Using his hands, Yuwen punched one of the other two in the gut, and the other in the face, causing them both to fall over. From his pocket Yuwen pulled out a handkerchief and wiped the blood from his fist, before turning to Brufflin, who sat back drinking his mug...

The android, Stata had stood beside her Captain when they had been greeted and then questioned by the port authority. She walked with him into the pub. During this time she did not reply to him because none of his questions needed a reply. It had taken a long time for her to grasp the concept of a rhetorical question much to his dismay. During this time she had been monitoring ship repair bots and through them the trillions of nanites in the repair paste she had smeared over large portions of the damaged hull. It had taken her a long time to prepare for the repairs and there was much more to do. She stood next to Captain Beth, silent as a ghost until Brufflin's comment.

"Vleeboe's ass of a tavern?" Her hollow sounding voice trailed off. She was unnaturally still and silent, something that would unsettle most. Then she watched the fight without a change of expression or comment.

"Oho there! It seems the fight isn't done with yet," an irritable looking Zerakodian snarled as she stomped her way over to the two who had caused a scene. The table she had just abandoned still held the remains of a plate that held the majority of its contents, most of it shoved out of its original place. A glass remained empty beside it as the smell of some strong drink lingered heavily around her. Noticing their eyes on her, she adjusted the bands on her arm with strong jerks and painful twists, glaring at Yuwen and Brufflin.

"Either finish the fight or get out," Rescha growled. "Your little love spat is disturbing everyone and ruined my appetite."

"I think we may have some hopefuls," Captain Beth whispered to Stata as they watched from the entrance. "Keep an eye on them... I'm going to get a drink," The Captain chuckled as he glided off toward the bar.

"You stay out of this, Imperial," Yuwen spat at the intruding Zerakodian. "This is between me and my assaulter," he added, grabbing Brufflin with two of his hands.

"Don't start a fight ya can't win, kid," Brufflin growled, raising his legs, aiming to deliver a drop kick to Yuwen's chest. Falling to the floor, Brufflin bore his tusks at Rescha. "And settle down, Zerakodian. Your people have a knack for starting more trouble then they're worth."

"Well I would stay out of this if you two went outside," Rescha snapped, cracking her knuckles. "I'm not the one that started this you idiot and you're not even worth looking at. But if you're looking for a fight, then let's take this outside shall we? I'm sure the patrons here are itching to make some money by betting on me."

Yuwen raised himself off the concrete floors of the tavern and looked at the two aliens. "This is ridiculous, simply ridiculous!" He yelled as he stepped between the two. "I understand you're criminals, no doubt uneducated and financially unstable, but can we not handle this in a civilized manner?" He asked as he pushed each back with two of his arms. "I'm here because I want answers, and I may be willing to forgive the two of you if you can provide them," He concluded as he glanced from the Rescha to Brufflin.

"Don't call me uneducated you piece of scum," she hissed, baring her sharp teeth. Rescha glared at the two aliens with hatred and rolled her eyes. "Who needs your damn forgiveness anyway? If anything you should be thanking me for saving your arrogant ass. If you needed answers then why didn't you ask in the beginning you worthless piece of crap?"

"Perhaps you'll get an answer, provided you learn to respect your elders, boyo," Brufflin snarled. Disrespect and insults are a surefire way to ensure your life meets a quick end in situations like these."

"I'm just saying we should defuse this situation," Yuwen muttered as he lowered his arms. "Here," He began as he pulled out his golden card, "I'll buy you two the next round if you sit down with me, talk to me a bit about this place," He explained as he indicated for the waiter to come to them. "Don't worry about the cost. The company card can handle most of it."

"I'll pass on those drinks," Brufflin shook his head. "Meals here are starting to give me indigestion. And I grew up on Engreint maggot gruel," Brufflin continued, stepping over an unconscious Vleeboe, as he headed toward the exit, carefully making note of the android that stood, standing awkwardly near the door. "Look, all I can tell you about this place...is that it's a slumhole. A place where people who have a certain...disillusionment with the law go to drink away their sorrows and set off in hopes of making it big."

"Fine then," Rescha grunted as she yanked the nearest empty seat and slammed it on the ground, plopping herself upon it. She turned to the waiter, "Just get me the most expensive drink you have. I don't care what it's called or any of that useless crap, gimme the strongest and most expensive thing you have."

She listened quietly to Brufflin, examining her nails with distaste, before chuckling. "That's a light way of putting it."

"Get me two Berliners," Yuwen nodded at the waiter as he sat between the two aliens. "Now, I'm a reporter. My name is Yuwen Mare... you don't have to tell me your names if you don't want to. Now, the first thing I want to ask you two is if you know who owns this bar... and who frequents it... and why you two are here?"

Off to the side, in the corner of the tavern, sat a quiet, hooded man sipping on some fresh Three-Sun tea. This had become a regular everyday routine for him over the last few weeks here on Anisary Eight. It reminded him of an old Irish pub that he visited back on Earth, several years ago. The drunks, the bad food, the distinct aroma of alcohol, and of course, the bar fights all held much in comparison.

Helthax grabbed the top tip of his hood and gently tugged on it before turning his attention to the now calmed down group of vagrants.

'Damn,' he thought to himself. 'Right when I was about to have some fun with them.'

The man continued to sip his Three-Sun tea whilst watching the group of aliens talk amongst themselves. With his heightened sense of hearing, Helthax zeroed in on their conversation and overhead the Holohan mention his name. Yuven Mare, a reporter...you don't say?

"This dump," Brufflin began, nodding to the scarred Omenus who tended the bar. "Owned by Brewmaster Ellenbachus. Not particularly bright for an Omenus, though. He makes up for it in cunning and connivery. Used to be the most notorious hellroot dealer in the Milky Way couple years back. Word is the Rindican started to hound him, so he started this place up as a...'legitimate business' ever since. Word is he still deals hellroot on the side to those who can pay well enough."

"As for why I'm here?" Brufflin began. "I told you. Ship was destroyed, and I made an emergency landing here," Brufflin shrugged, glancing towards the android again and sniffing in her direction. "Thought I'd stop for a drink or three."

"As for who frequents it," Rescha began in an irritated growl. "There's a disgusting Vleeboe by the name of Reatsomus Jekester. He's supposedly a good man for anything ya need when cash funds are... running low. Good with any kind of lock, authority, or rival supposedly but he sure ain't good for getting dates. With his reputation its a wonder the authorities have only busted him for small stuff every now and then. Then again, inferior races are known to spread stupid gossip and they can hardly be expected to tell the truth or even know what the word means."

She paused for a moment before contuing, "Offense completely meant. There's a few others but who the hell cares. As for why I'm here, well let's just say I get into a lot of trouble. Don't know why. Guess inferior aliens just don't understand and respect greatness. Their tiny brains can't handle it."

"Right," Yuwen muttered as he took the two drinks from the waiter and placed them onto the table. "Not quite the answers I wanted but answers none the less," He muttered as he took a sip of the large Berliner. "Truth be told I've gotten word that this tavern is home to more than the average criminal... I've gotten word that this tavern, and the docking bay at the end of the street, are often company to Captain's of deceit, illegal solar sailors as it were..."

Yuwen paused, glancing from Rescha to Brufflin. "Space pirates," He finished at last, taking another sip of his drink. From across the tavern, in the darkness of the bar, Captain Beth let the smoke of his pipe escape his lips. His eyes had in them a dark glint as he watched from afar. Yes, he decided as put his pipe in his pocket. He had indeed come to the right place for a crew.

Re: [OOC] Space•Pirates

Let me know if you think my character is alright. I wasn't sure if I might be breaking any boundaries.

Re: [OOC] Space•Pirates

This looks sweet, love to join! Any chance you'd be down with someone joining as an alien race you haven't outlined?
