Introduction
The Story
Over the past few years, the spirits of long dead warriors have been reawakened for reasons unknown. What is known is that these spirits have been sealed away inside musical instruments to prevent anyone coming to harm and to be utilized later. These instruments, or Music Prisons as they've come to be called, once sealed, are handed over to the headmaster of St.Barltelbee's Musical Battle Academy, Garet Mizagi.
At the beginning of each new school year, scouts from the Academy travel the world to offer scholarships to talented young muscians to St.Bartelbee's. Why? Only by playing a Music Prison, and played well, can the powers of the Spirit within be used for battle. These students will be trained to weild these instruments and become the warriors of tommorrow.
You are one of these students.
Welcome to St.Bartelbee's!!
The School

There are six main buildings: the main teaching facility, where all classes for musical training and battle tactics are taught, the arena, where student can train and fight usuing their Spirits, and the four dorms: Brass, Percussion, Strings, Woodwinds.
Each student is divided into the dorm for whichever instrument they play. The dorms are split in two, one side for girls, the other for guys, and each come sequppied with a kitchen and a public bathroom.
The arena is more an are than a building, being a flat area of stone in the centre of the schoolgrounds. Students may practice here either by taking lessons with a teacher, or a friendly exhibition match against another student, overseen by a teacher or councilor.
School Life
Uniforms

First semester uniforms on right, second on left
The tie or scarf at the neck is a different colour, depending on dorm: Red=Percussion, Yellow=Brass, Blue=Strings, Green=Woodwinds
A normal school day involves a few classes, a lunch period, a few more classes, then retire to your own devices until lights out. But all classes have been stopped for a new event:
St.Bartelbee's First Annual Battle Royale!!
A simple tournament. Consisting of one-on-one, single elimination matches. Each player is given certain amount of life points at the beginning of each match, from 1 to 500, based off their final score when classes ended. Whoever knocks the other's points down to zero first wins.
The winning dorm of the Royale gets bragging rights for a year, and keeps the Battle Royale trophy until the next Royale. The winning warrior can have any request fulfilled, no matter what it is. No strings attached.

"Amethysts Light please?" She asked looking over the counter. She waited for the printer to jerk to a stop and grabbed it. Amethysts was in percussion, room 267. "Sweet I'm not on the first floor." Gathering her things she picked them up walking over to the dorm, which was a long walk and she took two breaks. After Reaching the entrance she walked in, took the elevator and found her room. "No roommate yet..that's cool too." Unpacking she set her stuff on a bed and began to hook up her keyboard. "Alright now I can take on the world!" Right after she said this her keyboard stand broke."Ok...almost ready."

He grabbed his blure uniform from where it hung in the small room, on the hook next to the brown one. Even though it was still first semester, he prefered the blue of second semester's uniform to the drab brown. And classes weren't even in session, so it wasn't as big a deal. He tied the blue Strings Dorm tie tighty around his neck when a screeching voice entered his mind About time you woke up!! Good for nothing git!
With a sigh, Carter turned to the red violin case sitting atop his desk. He moved to the desk, unfastened the latches, and opened the case to reveal the mahoghoney wood of his Spirit partner, Menteo.
"Contray to your belief, Menteo, humans need sleep, and more than a few hours." Carter, like most warriors at this school had developed a telepathis connection with his partner. Menteo just wasn't too pleased that she now answered to "this boy" as she called him.
Yeah, yeah, as you've told me before. Now, boy, please tell me I get to hurt some people today. My strings ache from lack of use. Carter scratched his head. He knew it had been sometime since they had last battled anyone, but he liked pulling her chains. "Well, I don't know...."
BOY, WE ARE GOING TO BATTLE TODAY, AND THA-HEY! Before she could say anymore, Carter closed the lid on her. "Calm down, beauty queen, I was just joking. Let's go find someone." And with a mumbled agreement from Menteo, he headed out his door, down the hall, and out into the early morning sun of day.

Once she reached the front office, she asked the lady for her keys and schedule. Lia's beady eyes looked at the woman carefully, claiming as she walked to her room that there was something off about her. "I'm telling the truth!" Lia's high-pitched voice rang in the hallways as she tried to convince Teri that there was something wrong. "Right, Lia." Teri shrugged it off, thinking that her ferret was probably anxious about the other spirits that they might meet soon.

"Ah, Kyou. Good morning to you. How was your night love?" Kianna asked silently; her voice seeming to originate from inside Kyou's head.
'Great. I had a dream that you and I finally managed to change the world and that my music had helped those worthy of our new Earth survive the chaos,' Kyou replied happily as she clutched the Bass to her chest lovingly. She heard Kianna chuckle as she gently eased the instrument into its black silk case and slung it over her shoulder. 'You should have seen it; everything was ablaze with emerald fire and my Bass pulsed through the burning streets. Scores of people looked at me with devotion in their eyes and you were laughing in my music.'
She heard Kianna laugh again and to her human ears it sounded like golden thunderstorms; painful yet pleasant. "I'm pleased we managed to change this horror ridden planet in your dreams; now to do so in reality." Kyou giggled and sighed as a yawn tried to escape her lips.
With a once over she exited her room and locked the door before heading down the hall towards the outside world.

he strummed his guitar peacefully and joyfully. Humming along with the song, foot tapping and head bobbing with the tune. He looked over all the students who were just arriving. "What do you think El?" he said to his guitar. He stopped playing and waited for a response. His guitar played a couple chords on its own. "Yeah," he replied, "A lot of strong spirits just arrived. I wonder what that means for us, i sure hope we can stand a chance." Elda, played some off tune chords. "Okay, Okay, gees, sorry for being pessimistic, but you have to admit we're in for some tough fights. Angelo continued to play on Elda, As he looked up he saw an unusual character coming out of the strings dorm, "He's wearing second semester's uniform? What a strange guy. Want to go talk to him El?" El played a series of happy notes. "Alright then." Angelo resumed playing as he walked towards the Strings student(Carter).

The speck finally gone, he raised the instrument to his lips, adopting the familiar, slightly-harelipped embouchure and blowing softly. A single clear note drifted out, causing him to nod in satisfaction. A good thing that Kalama wasn't paying attention to him at the moment - she hated any form of dirt getting on her prison. Even after playing, she requested - more like ordered - that he polish his fingerprints from the keys.
Reaching up to flick blond hair out of his eyes, he looked over to the entrance of the Strings dorm - Carter was late as usual, and about to be even later, if the guy with the guitar loitering about was any indication. Carter was one of the better known Strings players - everyone in that dorm went to him about something at some point.
"Ah, well - looks like we'll just have to be patient, eh, Llama?" he thought toward the silvery instrument in his hands.
"I've told you a billion times, moron, stop calling me that!" Kalama's voice snapped. While she herself was deaf, an ability to telepathically communicate allowed her to speak with him for short lengths of time - ten seconds at a stretch.
Nate simply smirked and went back to polishing the already shining silver.
OOC Notes
Her steps paused as she noticed a blonde haired boy already there who was polishing what she couldn't mistake for anything but a flute. "Such a breath wasting instrument. Maybe we should show him the power of steel strings," Kianna muttered distastefully as Kyou began walking again. She loved Kianna's distaste for any instrument that wasn't a Bass or Guitar and loved even more that the Spirit loved to show off how much she absolutely loathed them.
'It plays a beautiful sound though; I almost envy the gorgeous tones that it creates,' Kyou responded as she rounded her steps before coming into view of the flute player and went to the other side of the fountain where she sat down.
In an almost motherly fashion she pulled the case from her back and pulled out the bass; holding it in the perfect position to be played. A single note rang out as she plucked a string and she sighed at the happiness that blossomed in her. "Nothing like a bass."
OOC Notes
She stretched out a little and looked out the window. "Welp looks like I should go take a look around, meet a few people and explore this huge place." After doing and few touch up to her appearance she bounded out the door and down the hallway. She skipped down the stairs hearing music being played all around her and kinda wished her instrument was as portable as the others were. "They're all really good to..it's a little loud though." She chuckled a little at her comment and went on towards the center of the school.

Angelo focused on the fountain in the middle of the courtyard. There was a blonde kid, vigorously polishing a silver rod. Angelo was never very educated in non-string instruments, so he couldn't really tell what instrument it was. Angelo kept looking around. He looked just beside him and noticed a girl carefully tuning her bass guitar. Angelo turned around to see if the pink haired student was still there but Angelo couldn't see him. "Hey where'd he go El?" Angelo waited for a response, but one didn't come. "That girl's bass plays a really pretty tune, reminds me of the store." Elda played a sweet set of notes. "I suppose we could introduce ourselves, since I can't see that other guy."
Angelo walked over to the bass player. She seemed overjoyed to simply tune her bass. Angelo quietly made his way behind her and stood on the rim. He sat down and played a couple chords for her. "Hi," He smiled, "my name is Angelo, and this little beauty is named Elda." Angelo lifted Elda slightly to let her get a better look, then sat down.
OOC Notes
"A guitar player? With a spirit named Elda. I would die if that name were bestowed upon me, Kianna muttered.
Her hands finally stopped moving and she lifted her silver-grey eyes away from the bass and towards the boy who had taken up the space next to her. She'd never seen him before; not that she ever tried to meet anyone who wasn't her bass or Kianna. In fact; Kyou had never taken the time to acknowledge the existence of other living things unless they were plants or animals. Both of which she had a soft spot for and would protect to the bitter end. It was a trait Kianna hated yet loved about her to the best of Kyou's knowledge.
"My name is Kyou Peridoit," she answered as she went back to running her fingers soothingly over the steel strings of her brown shimmering bass. She heard Kianna hum in her head and decided that it would be best to also introduce her life partner and somewhat only friend. "Kianna lives in my bass who was originally named Niccals." The humming grew soft and beautiful and she felt the urge to begin to pluck out a tune to match the wonderful melody in her head; but she resisted and instead hugged the bass to her torso. "May I ask to what I owe this meeting?" she questioned as she again let her gaze fall on the boy named Angelo.

He ran his fingers across the bridge of his guitar, playing a rapid, and uplifting solo.
Strummed his guitar twice. Then waited for her response.

clack, clack, clack. went the shoes of a teenaged boy.
"Nice place" Rift said. He slipped his drumsticks out. One was red and the other blue. He preceeded to hit them together "1, 2, 1, 2, 3!" he said and then his feet began tapping. The metal underneath made a good clacking sound. He then added a different beat his drums as he tapped them against the school's gate.
The guard found himself quickly bobbing his head and tapping his feet until he saw the two girls that had appeared next to the boy. He stopped himself "Hey young man, you have to be getting to your dorm and should be getting acquainted with the school grounds so you do get lost." the guard said.
Rift seemed to not be listening or even able to hear the young man but the girls shook their heads in embarrassment and the boy started to make his way to the percussion area of the boy's dorm.
"You know Alice," said Celestia. "Why are we with this idiot anyways?"
"Because he rocks like no other Celestia" responded Alice.
Rift kept drumming on anything he could find, walls, stairs, trees. He reached a fountain and the sound of the falling water caused him to change his rythym. He started kicking the cement seating surrounding the fountain with his steel toed boots and continued tapping at the same time. He started circling the fountain when he found himself about to start drumming on someone's guitar case. He stopped out of reflex seeing as how he had gotten into a few fights with guitar players due to his drumming habit. He then danced around, what appeared to be a guy and a girl, string players, and continued to clack his sticks together as he spun around once, and kept going until he realized he didn't know where he was going.
"Uhm," he started to say.
"The dorms are over there" said Alice and Celestia together. Their smiles had had scowls and their frowns tended to smirks. They were very hard to understand. Like most females.
"I got a better idea," smiled and looked at the sisters. he got a geniune smile from them. The sticks rythem slowed and waned and changed entirely until a full drum set had appeared in front of him. He sat down and looked at Alice and Celestia. He pointed the sticks to them making the song a tribute to them and he clacked his sticks together before he wailed on the snares, bass, and cymbols.

A glint of silver from the fountain caught Carter's attention. A slight grin crossed his lips at the sight of the familiar blonde boy and his Spirit partner. He turned and headed for the fountain, but was slowed when Menteo spoke up.
Nate, again?! Really?! You couldn't find me anyone else to beat upon? Kalama bores me! she fumed into his head.
Your just sore that she beat you last time. Carter approached the blonde boy before Menteo could continue. "Hey, Runt. I think you missed a spot." He flashed a grin before settling down on the fountain rim next to Nathanial. Runt had been one of his favourite nicknames for Nate, Carter standing about five or six inches taller than him.
He placed Menteo on his lap, before casting a look in Nate's way. "So, tell me, Flutely, what brings you here this fine morning?"
OOC Notes
'You aren't the one playing Kianna. But alas, I shall tell him that you are not fond of working with others.
Kyou looked away from the boy and to her bass; she couldn't decide if his name was still Niccals or if she would have to change it to Kianna. The spirit never had anything to say and seemed to not care whether or not the bass's named changed. She shifted her hold on the bass and held it in playing position before plucking out a few chords; the sound reverberating in her head like the sweetest melody and the most terrible power.
"Kianna isn't fond of duets. I'm not sure if I want to risk angering her. I would die if she damaged Niccals in any way," Kyou responded silently as she stroked the body of her instrument lightly. It was smooth and perfect under her fingertips and she knew she would do anything to protect her first and only bass guitar.
OOC Notes
Angelo looked at the girl, her devotion to protecting her instrument was admirable, he himself would never allow anything to happen to Elda. "It really is quite beautiful," he said, "I figure, something as beautiful as that can also produce quite a melodious sound." Angelo played a single note on his guitar, and held it. He then began to hum along with the note. He played two more notes, and hummed along with the tone. He stopped playing, and sighed. Elda felt relieved, Angelo had an idea, and she believed that it could end up bringing fortuitous results.
"Alright then I can understand not being fond of duets. Surely though a fine musician like yourself couldn't possibly pass on the opportunity to make harmony. Listen, all around us there are people practicing on their instruments, they are all to eager to show the world their sound, none of them are listening. It sounds like chaos. I alone couldn't do anything, i would only join in the chaos. But,"Angelo paused and looked at Kyou, "Together, we could make harmony out of the chaos, a melody so strong all others would have to stop and listen. And when the chaos ends only our sound will remain, only perfect harmony." Angelo seemed pleased at what he had said. He was never this persistent, but something about this girl intrigued him.

You should work on paying attention girl! Taiko's voice boomed in her head.
Alex splashed out of the fountain half deaf because of Taiko. Some other students had started laughing because of this. "Damn could this day get worse." She whispered and walked over to a nearby bench.

"Anyway . . . I could ask you the same question." Laying the flute crosswise across his lap, he stretched languidly. "I'm mostly just killing time. Classes aren't for, what, forty-five minutes yet? Might as well spend some time getting sun on my pasty, white-boy skin."
"Hey, Llama - Carter and Menteo are here."
"Wake me when they leave."
Shaking his head at his Spirit's hostility, he glanced off to one side at a particularly loud splash from his right. A kid - a boy about the same age as himself and Carter - was clambering out of the water, sopping wet. Watching as he moved over to a nearby bench and sank onto it, Nate tilted his head curiously.
"Carter? D'you know that kid over there - the one that's playing the part of the mop? Looks new to me." Getting to his feet, he began walking toward the stranger. "C'mon - time to be sociable."
"Kalama, I might have a job for you. Up and at 'em, sweetheart."
OOC Notes
Why do we put up with him? He can be so obnoxious at times., Menteo said with a sigh.
Because him and Kalama are the only one's you'll let me fight on a daily basis without complaing that thier too weak. Carter shook his, then perked up at Nate's last comment. "Yeah, apparently there was suppose to be some big announcement or something. Not sure what, but anythings better than class."
Before he could continue, a splash came from behind them in the fountain, followed by a slight cold sensation as some water splashed on his back. He turned as the strange boy clambered out and shuffled to his current residence on the bench. "Hmmm, I don't recognize him, but by the uniform, seems he's from your dorm, Runt."
With a sigh, Carter got up and followed Nate over to the new boy. Menteo, stay on your toes, we may need to assist this young lad. He approached the boy and offered a grin as a greeting. "Hey, there. Quite the spill you took there? You okay?"
OOC Notes
Rift got up slowly and made his way towards the boy while clenching his drumsticks so hard that his knuckles were white. "First strings and now woodwinds," he muttered as he reached behind his back and into his small back pack. "You got my drums all wet." he stared down as the water around him was just spreading further and further.
"Hahahahaha" boomed Rift. "Thanks, mate! Wish I had thought of it myself." He tossed the boy one of his (clean) towels that he usually used to dry himself off after his extensive drummer. "Hahahahaha," he boomed again as he turned back to his drums. "Who knew a flute would have a rocker's soul," he chuckled as he stopped in front of his drum set. He hit the snares and bass and then cymbols and watch the water fly in the air. Alice and Celestia smiled at the scene. "Very cool" Rift said as he nodded.
"I suppose he found something new to try" stated Alice. Celestia nodded in agreement. Rift had a big grin as the drum set was unsummoned. "Hey flute boy." he said and turned around. There was now two more. "Whoa, just like insects" Rift muttered softly. "Thanks for the inspiration, you can return the towel to me when you see me in the boy's dorm. I'm obviously in the percussion section. Maybe I can convert you to try the drums out."
Rift turned and walked very impressively until Celestia smacked him in the back of the head. "The dorm is that way idiot," she said.
"Yeah, yeah," Rift mumbled and walked in the proper direction. Clack, clack, clack clack. "Rock on, Flutists" he said as he started to tap again and found a nice big tree to drum on. It was here that he ran into a female flutist this time. "Sup girlie? Your friends are over there by the fountain." Rift kept tapping but a little softer. "You're cute. If you don't end up hooking up with that cute wet flutist over there, look me up." This time Alice smacked him on the head.
"Sorry about him, he's quite stupid" said Alice with a disappointed glance at Rift. He had fallen with no grace but that didn't stop him from drumming on the ground for a bit before getting up. He looked over at the flutist and gave a simple wave of 'see ya later' as he began to tap again. "Oi, idiot!" yelled Alice as she ran after Celestia and Rift, "don't leave me behind. Geez Alice." she said as the sisters started to talk out of ear shot.
__________
Rift was bumping into other people and pissing them off as he drummed his way to the dorms. He entered the percussion wing and didn't see a single person. " Not a single person not a single beat here. Well I can fix that" he said as he opened his dorm room door. "But first this room needs some rearranging. So far no roommate, hopefully that won't change" and with that said Rift started making space for the drum set.
OOC Notes
"You tell him that if someone cannot make a melody alone one does not deserve to play a melody. If one cannot force people to listen one does not have something to say. Tell him that you and I shall create a beautiful chaos in this horrible world and people will listen whether they wish to or not. I will not play a melody with this boy and I will not stand for having someone tell me I cannot create beauty by myself. You tell him that I refuse to play with him, Kianna said with a regal tone that would make even a queen bow before her glory.
'Fine, but if something happens I'll let him know that they are your words not mine.'
"Ah, but my dearest Kyou, you feel the same way. I am just the voice for your secret desires.
She sighed and ran her fingers delicately down the four steel strings of her bass before looking over to Angelo. "She said that if someone cannot make a melody alone they do not deserve to play a melody. If they cannot make people listen than they do have have something to say. She said that she and I can and will create beautiful chaos among the horrors in this world and that people will listen whether they want to or not. She refuses to play with anyone but me and will not have someone tell her she needs a partner to create a harmony; a melody. Kianna will not play this duet," she repeated trying to make the words sound nicer than her spirit partner wanted them to.
Although she consciously disagreed with Kianna's words, Kyou could not help but notice that she felt they were true. She loved to play alone and she had never asked to play with anyone but her best friend whom she had left behind. He was the only one who had managed to make her and even Kianna feel that the duet was more powerful than their solo. Kyou wanted him back; needed him back; to add a more wonderful glow to her already shining music. "I believe; if I play and only join the chaos, I do not deserve to play. I should be able to play and create a song so wonderful that I am separate from whoever else plays," she added silently as she let her index finger slide down the smooth surface of her bass's body.
OOC Notes
You know I think your parents aren't very smart. Pretending to be a boy got you more attention. Taiko said in Alex's mind in a booming voice.
Just shut up please. She answered back.
"Well thanks for the concern." Alex told both students. "I...guess that's it then..." She said a bit nervous.
OOC Notes
Definitely a new kid then - the shyness was a near-dead giveaway. Nate felt sympathathetic, knowing how tricky it was to be the new kid in a strange place.
"Hey, the towel's not gonna get everything," he suggested, lifting his flute with something of a sheepish smile. "That's kind of the reason I came over here anyway - besides checking if you were okay. My spirit has the ability to control water - I can get it right off you and put it back where you got it. Without you having to change completely before class, that is."
After just a second's hesitation, he lifted the flute to his lips. "Just, uh . . . hold still. Sorry if this is a little . . . personal." Blowing softly into the mouthpiece, he played a short string of low, drawn-out notes, feeling Kalama come fully alive within her prison. There was a spike in her energy as she flexed her power, and several drops flew unexpectedly from Alex, back in the direction of the fountain.
There was no set tune - sequences of notes put together in certain ways made up the directions that the blond boy gave his partner. It was a code they'd spent hours coming up with and memorizing, back when he'd first arrived, before he'd begun hanging out with Carter and others.
Nate sped up the tempo, causing Kalama to increase her power usage accordingly. Now, thin streams of water lifted from the new student's body, pooling together in the air. At last, they trailed off, and - with a final sustained note, Kalama sent the water back to it's place. Nate exhaled as he lowered the instrument, slightly out of breath, as usual.
"I can start breathing normally again now, right?" he joked, looking between Carter and the new student.

Re: [OOC] St.Bartelbee's Musical Battle Academy
Okay, in other news, if you want to start posting guys, you may! I'm going to be editing stuff over the next little while, but for now, it's as good as done for posting.
Also, very soon, maybe once we have a few more players, I will announce the first rounds of the Battle Royale! It will be under Events and I will have all rules posted there, so we don't have to debate and such over them.
On a side note, if you know anyone who would be interested in participating in this roleplay, be sure to invite them. This kinda requires numbers. Also, if possible, bring more guys, cause as it is, we have one guy character, and that's myself.
