Introduction
What is the story you may ask? Well the short answer is...your animal's life is your story. Your animal will start out being born/hatched/whatever and at specific intervals in the roleplay I will tell the roleplayers which ones can move from being an infant, to an adolescent, to a full-on adult and then finally to the animal's death based on when those people first posted. Throughout the story your animal may interact with other animals made by roleplayers or other animals already on Earth, depending on the biome and place you put them in. To make it easier to locate people, I'll include a list of places along with the biomes to help different animals interact with one another.
Bear in mind, that if your animal is specifically adapted to live in say the Permanent Ice Biome, then they certainly can't fly into the Tropical Rainforest Biome otherwise the heat would melt them alive. Also, if your animal is a flying animal of some sort, don't have them cross extreme distances with no effort. They need to have stocked up on food prior to this massive journey or there must be food for them on the way.
Here are the Different biomes along with the various locations for them. If you have alternate location suggestions, suggest them to me and they may be included. For simplicity’s stake, only land biomes will be used.
Land Biomes:
Temperate Deciduous Forest: Germany, Japan
Temperate Rainforest: Western British Columbia, Southern New Zealand, Western Coast of Chile
Tropical Rainforest: Brazil, Middle Africa
Grassland: Savannah, Northern Australia, Saskatchewan
Marsh: Everglades
Tundra: Siberia, Yukon
Permanent Ice: Greenland, Antarctica
Boreal Forest: Russia, Labrador
Desert: Africa, Nevada
Rules:
1. No god-modding/meta-gaming. Don’t have your animal know everything about the other animals, other than what it was taught by its parents as a kid or what it learns while exploring its environment.
2. Make sure your animals sleep. We don’t go without sleep for hours on end, so neither should your animals.
3. These are animals. I can’t stress this enough. They don’t think like humans do, so don’t write them as if they do. Also, none of them can be sentient, because otherwise they’re just humans with fur, scales or feathers. These are normal animals, just of your own creation.
4. Fights between your animals may result in one of your animals being killed which is perfectly fine. You can simply make another animal; it is the Circle of Life after all.
5. If you wish, you can ask another person through PM if you wish them to play your animal but of a different sex. Or the same sex as, contrary to popular belief, that does happen in the natural world.
6. As said before, I’ll make a post at certain points telling you which of the players can transition into the next stage. This will depend mostly on when you first posted in the roleplay.
7. Your creatures may go into the ocean, but only if they can swim or eat things that live there.
8. This is the most important rule so pay attention. When you find a mate and decide to pass your genes onto the next generation, same rules as intimate scenes between furries/smooth-skins
9. Once I accept your animal, you may start posting, whether I have posted or not.
10. No mythological creatures. I don't want a Pegasus in the sky and Cthulthu running around. Make your own creature.
Here’s the sheet for your animal.
- Code: Select all
Name: (Pretty self-explanatory)
Latin Name: (Completely optional, but if you know your Latin, you can show it off)
Average Life-Span: (How long does your animal live for? This may differ between the sexes.)
Sex: (What gender is your particular animal? This may differ if you choose someone else to play your mate)
Biome: (Which of the biomes does it live in?)
Place: (What place does it live in?)
Eating Habits: (What kind of food does it eat?)
Potential Predators: (What, if anything, finds your animal as a tasty snack?)
Appearance: (What does your animal look like? This will include any physical defense mechanisms or adaptations that can be found on the outside, like wings or a shell.)
Behavior: (This is more complicated. Basically this will describe the animal's behaviour. How does it hunt, how does it attract a mate, how much it reproduces after it's found a mate. etc. This will be the most detailed part and will also include any behavioral adaptations that the animal has to its environment, like flying south for the winter.)
Adaptations: (This will refer to adaptations that can't be seen on the outside, like hollow bones, poisonous skin. etc.
