Introduction
In an effort to ease the so-called "Normal's" of the world, The United Nations decided to declare those with the Swan Gene unofficial criminals. They were rounded up and a unique swan was tattooed somewhere on their body. The design was very general, with the color of it indicating the strength of the person. Red was the strongest, then blue, followed by black and finally green. The Red's and Blue's were taken into custody and forced to live separate lives from the others and normal humans by migrating to a city on an island in the Atlantic called Genesis. Genesis was restricted to all, with no one entering and no one leaving. In 2040 a revolt took place within Genesis, the Swan Gene carriers destroying the city and their supposed guards and watchers, leaving only piles of rubble behind them. That same year a group called "Sanctuary" popped up. They were a some of the ones who escaped Genesis and decided they weren't going to let normal's decide their lives for them. Their tactics bordered on terrorism and as such they became feared throughout the world. Not all sided with the though, even some deciding to stand up against them. Write Gears of War in your character sheet so I know your actually reading. Now, while not organized or even able to be consider a loose group, many are on the run from or openly fight Sanctuary whenever they can. Since this inner fight is going on within the Swans, it has become something similar to a shadow war with few if any attacks on Normal humans anymore. The thousand or so Swan population is dwindling with internal war and the chance that their children will not be born with the Swan Gene. The year is 2054 and many humans go about their daily lives, society seemingly running normal while the Swan's tear each other apart.
So yeah, you can either be a Swan or a normal human, anything is fine. I need Sanctuary, Anti-Sanctuary, and neutral Swans. The story will take place in two locations. The city of Lost Haven and Genesis, Genesis being much later in the Roleplay. Lost Haven is similar to modern day Chicago while Genesis is, as previously stated, almost entirely destroyed.

Re: [OOC] Swan Song
I wasn't really planning on doing anything with him right now, I guess it would depend on how the story progresses, but I'll try to stay involved as much as possible.
Re: [OOC] Swan Song
I find I have two characters in a similar position. One will definitely have a high influence on everything, being a high profile figure, who makes absolutely no attempt at hiding. This is Justin Krammer, who so far has not been introduced into the Rp. Jeremy Krammer, however, is easy to find and interact with, and won't be as influential as Justin. The connection between my characters is that they are twins. Originally, they had been artificially desgined to be born and grow as a very typical super soldier, with the abilities of both, but before this could happen they split. Instead of one person being born, twins were, with the abilities seperated between them.
I have a number of sub plots in their planning stage that involved other characters. Once they are complete I will send PMs to those involved to see what they think.
Re: [OOC] Swan Song
I suggest we move forward under the unifying idea that the attack on the Lennox building will cause a huge anti-swan backlash that will encourage other groups to mobilize. Some of our characters already have connections to these other groups while others don't. As for adding characters I also suggest that instead of submitting a a new character profile for every NPC we create, those controlling various NPCs should just post some added information about that character in their original profile. That should help keep things organized until such a time when the site evolves to the point where one or all of us can more effectively keep up with OOC housekeeping.
I'm planing on using Anel as we go to create opportunities for plot development involving everyone. I might also tap A.R.C.H.A.N.G.E.L. and incorporate the other remaining operatives from that program. But that'll develop as we go. Right now I think we should just worry about our characters reaction to the current crisis and build from there.
Communication is going to be imperative to keep this RP alive and well.
My character Lizabeth is relatively easy to find and interact with. She tries to keep a low profile and because of the nature of her abilities she's usually left alone by Anti-Swan individuals. She's pretty street smart but does ocassionally run into trouble.
Anel on the other hand is pretty high profile and mostly stays in hiding because certain groups and people fear what he's capable of and what he knows. Some swans probably are familiar with him by reputation and name as Anel has intervened several times over the years in both Swan and non-Swan related crises but he's not generally an easy figure to locate. As you might have noticed Anel and Lizabee have a special kind of connection. They are almost never seen together and its unclear if Lizabeth has over met him in person. Nevertheless they are telepathically connected and do watch out for each other. In Anel's case, he tries to watch out for Elizabeth because of the delicate nature of her health which is largely compound by her abilities. Lizabee on the other hand probably sees Anel as a kind of obscure father figure.
If people want to work out sub plots they can post their thoughts here or reach me through PM. I'm on often because I run another RP on the site.

Re: [OOC] Swan Song
Lycos I would really like your blessing on this matter since you did create this RP and are technically still going to be connected to it. Ideally you'll continue writing with us I very much hope.
Still I strongly feel that this form of RPing is a collaboration. Everyone who contributes to the story has a creative stake in for as long as they participate and when a creator seems to back out I do feel, unless the structure of the protocol dictates otherwise, that we should continue on.
Basically I intend to keep posting. Unless you Lycos explicitly ask me not to. When it comes to collaborative RPing we writers need to fight for our characters voices and stories.
That's where I stand on the matter.
Re: [OOC] Swan Song
(Then again, I could have just asked you about something like that....again, my bad. I'll make sure that doesn't happen again.)
Re: [OOC] Swan Song
My main gripe with this site in general is that I can't exactly just erase my characters and back out of this game. If I could we might just as well let it go as a concept that didn't quite work out. But personally I think we have some decent writers here that have some very interesting character concepts. I realize Lycos this is your game. Your baby. As a fellow GM I completely understand this. I've certainly had Roleplays not succeed in other venues on my watch but that doesn't have to be the end of the proverbial world..
Perhaps if you were to give us an idea of what you would like we can accommodate you more completely. I really am enjoying this concept. I don't know if its original to you or if you borrowed the idea from other existing material but it has alot of potential. Now if you honestly don't want to continue with this game yourself, might the rest of us still interested have a wack at it?
If you'd be so kind to let us, I do have a plan.
Because you are the GM we as of current can't approve new characters but all you need to to to fix that is switch the settings so that players don't need your approval to join in. Interested writers can thus openly submit characters and they'll either write and contribute to a collaborative RP effort or they won't. As for the rest, most of that can be worked out in the OOC board we shouldn't need access to the smaller details of the format to communicate what we need to communicate to perspective writers and those of us still active can recruit through the main OOC request boards if we want to fill out our cast. We can designate new aspects as needed.
You wouldn't even have to be active if you didn't want to and if such a time ever comes where this site develops to the point where we can erase the game then wonderful. But where not there yet and this would be a way to salvage this.
What do you think? What do the rest of you still active think?
