Introduction
Character Sheet:
Of course the usual, name, age gender and so forth. Please also add race (nephilim, humans, demon, angel), perhaps a brief history, and a description. The description can be either a paragraph or a realistic picture. No anime. Add whatever else you want; interests, job, relationships. Im giving you leash on your character so please use it. None of the one liner, barley a sentence character descriptions. Keep it a modest length please.
Plot and Introduction:
The rivalry between angels and demons has been timeless. The rivalry has grown long and tiring and most have set it aside, hardly even remembering why the hate between the two very different races.
Angels and demons are not the only races caught up in the hate; humans and nephilim as well.
While angels have large white wings and the ability to manipulate light and demons have charcoal wings and dark manipulation (given only the more experienced and wise), nephilim have no wings. They are the offspring of fallen angels and mortal woman. They posses a unique, superhuman power along the lines of speed, telepathy, mind control or telekinesis. Humans, regular people living regular lives, are caught in the middle.
Now, after years of forgotten hate, young, dangerous demons find themselves on Earths surface, posing as regular humans, to rid it of angels and nephilim. Any human seemingly in their way is silenced. The angels choose for themselves, turn to the dark side or suffer the consequences? This, however, is a new generation of angels, demons, nephilim and humans. Young beings with the power to choose their destiny. A quite storm is coming, a tempest in a teapot.
Extra:
Just incase I did not make myself clear.
Angels: Winged creatures, of course belonging to the 'good' side. The older, more experienced angels have the ability to control light. Angels, as well as demons, are trying to blend in while on earth. Once out of presence of humans, they are allowed to show their true form.
Demons: The antagonists of the role play. They have large black wings and have the ability to manipulate darkness. Like angels, they are blending in with the humans, unless in the presence of other demons or angels.
Nephilim: Human looking creatures with super human ability. Only one ability per nephilim, however that power can have more than one abilities. For example, if a nephilim could control time, they could both push it forwards, slow it down or pause it all together.
Humans: Most humans are completely oblivious to the demons, nephilim and angels around them, given a select few.

OOC Notes
A coward once said to me 'we spend our whole lives looking into a mirror, in the reflection of which we see our own futures. One would think that the future would be clearer if we turned around to face it. But in doing so, the one element of the future we turn to search for, and end up loosing all sight of, would be ourselves... The future must be approached by walking into the past if we are ever to know ourselves in it.'
...Elegant are the words of cowards.

Levi blinked. The early dew on the window he stared at hadn't evaporated yet and offered a distorted reflection.
He squinted his eyes involuntary against the big blue morning sky. It was the first time he'd stepped outside his new apartment in the week he had been there. And only now for his hand.
A dirty bloodstained washcloth hung, loosely wrapped around his right hand. As a broken plate in the sink had left him with a neat slice across the palm.
Something had stopped him on his way to the hospital clinic down the street. A window of a cafe near the corner.
Did he know the place? How long had he been standing there?
A little trickle of blood ran down the outside length of his pinky.
Turning he strode with purpose towards the hospital's clinic.
The siren of a passing ambulance came to life as he stepped through the sliding doors of the large building. Even at this hour the place was buzzing... busy little bees.
Levi looked about.
Behind every door, behind every curtain here in, machines of man were at work, pleading, pledging, pulling, at the hems of an absent god.
What a juxtaposition of life such a place as a hospital displayed.
The lights flickered.

Azzael smiled as the elevator doors slid shut, cutting off all the faces of the people who would have liked to join him on the ride down. Azzael had a very strict "I don't hold doors" policy. He also just hated riding in elevators with other people. And after someone forced their way on, despite several warnings, and was found dead in an alley next week, Azzael rarely had to worry about this problem.
So, the doors slid closed unimpeded, and the slow rumble of the gears was the only thing that accompanied Azzael to the bottom floor. He was met with crowds, but they easily parted as he made his way through to the main door of the modern building, parked just beyond which, was his Hummer. Azzael flicked on his sunglasses as he past into the natural light streaming through the glass wall the made up the front of the building. Reaching into his breast pocket, Azzael removed the remote and clicked it in the direction of his car. He saw the headlights flash dimly in the sun as the locks popped.
No one was ever really sure exactly who Azzael was, or why he hung around the office building so often. Rumors ranged from him being the grandson of the CEO to other more outlandish theories, some of which made Azzael want to strangle to the speaker. He typically subdued these feelings, making a mental note to have their car stolen some time in the near future. The truth was, he was a middleman. He was there for those public figures who couldn't be seen hanging around back alleys and bars trying to make contacts. Or the dealers who couldn't really come waltzing into a five-star hotel to drop off packages. Alternatively, he was always there for the first time buyer/seller who were paranoid about deals going bad and felt reassured somehow that if that did happen they'd have someone's head to mount on their wall. All this worked out very well and was high profit. Making connections, thats what he was all about.
Azzael's mind wandered as he drove down the crowded city streets, constantly getting stuck at traffic lights (which he ran whenever possible), he needed to wire some money later... He'd already gotten several nasty phone calls from people wondering why they didn't have their payments yet. These thoughts were interrupted as Azzael caught sight of his hotel coming up on the street, at which moment he noticed he was in the wrong lane.

The slight buzzing sounded in the small bedroom, echoing off the walls and suddenly bringing Bailey from the dazed world she so precariously seemed involved in at the moment. Blinking she made a soft sound indicating she'd finally realized it was her cellphone on the nightstand. Turning her head some she blinked again before her feet carried her closer to the beside. Leaning down she took up the phone and looked at the screen. 'Malakae' flashed on it with numbers beneath, and with a sigh she flipped it open and spoke. "Yes?" Her almond brown eyes focused on the window next to her bed as the man spoke, she gave nods as if he could see them before responding. "Alright, I'll see you there" and with that she hung up.
Checking her appearance in the mirror one last time Bailey hurried to the front door, took up her bag and keys, throwing the door open in a fluid motion and shut it as she exited, making sure it was locked. A quick step out into the light she smiled and waved at a passing mother and child. Then turning sharply she headed down the sidewalk so that she could make it to the bus stop on time. Quickening her pace Bailey saw the small bus stand ahead, but the bus was already picking people up and about to pull out. Shouting she waved her arms and took off running. "Wait...wait" the bus halted and the doors opened, the driver held a sullen expression. "Sorry" she called, slipping onto the bus, and for his inconvenience tipped him a five. finding her seat in the back Bailey sat down with a huff and brushed her hair off her shoulders.
A child across from her was staring so hard Bailey felt it and glanced over, seeing the child staring so hard she smiled and waved. The little girl giggled and waved back, the girl's mother smiling some, though her eyes held a worn and weary gleam. Bailey dug in her bag and pulled out a small bag of gummy bears and handed it to the girl. The bus stopped and the small family departed, leaving Bailey behind. Malakae was sure to be angry for her taking so long, but riding the bus was better than walking half way across town.

Renee checked the time on the wall as she clocked in. Late. Again. With a sigh she fastened the black apron around her waist that they were required to wear, and took her place behind the counter. As much as she regretted taking the job, she needed it. Car payments, bills and college tuition they added up and they added up fast.
Renee straightened as another customer approached the counter for a coffee. Looking at him for a moment, she could hear the mans faint thoughts running though her own head thoughts that she would rather no repeat. The man paid, taking his coffee with a, Nice hat, to Renee before exiting the cafe. By then, he was to far away to allow Renee to tap into his thoughts. Renee tugged at the green and white winter hat on her head. The kind that had long ties down the side of the head. Her mouth pressed together as she tried to figure weather the man was being sarcastic or not.
Renee watched outside the cafe glass windows for a while as an ambulance rolled by. Not far down the street was a hospital clinic, and on the other side of the street were numerous business buildings and apartment complexes. It was a wonder how they were able to fit the little cafe into a city as big and as busy as this one.

Re: [OOC] Tempest In A Teapot
Feel free to submit a character :) A "Mary Sue" or "Gary Sue" is a person, or character, that is in a way perfect. Lots of times your get the girls that have some abusive past or are trying to get over some kind of grief. Or a boy that is the super strong hunk with a sensitive side. They're common characters that in no way really stand out. If you look at the characters in this role play, non of them are Mary or Gary Sue's :) Hope that helped.
Re: [OOC] Tempest In A Teapot
I was wondering if this roleplay was still open? And also a quick question, I've seen it spoken of in other roleplays, but what on earth is a Mary sue or Gary sue? No one has told me yet and I'm curious to know so that I can avoid it
