It was a completely normal dawn on Earth for Northern America, which just so happened to get a full view of the event which would change life in the universe forever.

Somewhere unimportant, a sun exploded, which happens pretty much every second in the massive universe. Unlike the usual suns, this one just so happened to be the test subject of an alien experiment on exploding suns. The nature of the experiment created an explosion three thousand times the normal supernova blast. This in turn released a massive radioactive blast, hitting more suns and thus creating a chain of supernova blasts. This continued to the edge of the universe. Following the pattern of this sequence of improbable events, the blast hit the edge of the universe at the perfect speed and shape, sending a powerful wave through what is known as nothing. It awoke a god.

The creature tore through the barrier between the Everything and the Nothing, turning our light dexcription of the exploding sun into something much more dark and sinister. A writhing mass of scales and teeth and fangs, it engulfed the nearby areas, turning them into Void. Void is like th Nothing, except it is even emptier than the Nothing, eating everything around it. Nothing flooded into Everything, making a seriously dangerous mess, which for our purposes, will be called Abyss. When creatures fell into Abyss, they came out twisted and evil. Mutants began to amass beside the god as it plowed onward towards the center of the universe, barely missing Earth and amazing the populace with it's sudden and horrible arrival. It's close proximity reacted strangely with certain members of the species, as well as any alien individuals they barely missed. This was of course, years later, it had broken from the Nothing ten thousand years ago, due to the nature of space, Earth just happens to be late on the scene of space travel and space magic.

Earth also happens to be in visible distance to the center of the universe, where the creature took it's place, spreading dark tentacles and shimmering webs. Having the ability to space travel at the time, we sent messengers to the beast, which were immediately destroyed along with the messengers that aliens sent. The two realized they would fare better by contacting each other, and so began the impromptu alliance of all Everything life.

TO RECAP THIS RAMBLING AND MEANDERING INTERDIMENSIONAL TALE:
-Everything is the universe, Nothing is outside
-Void is leaked by the God, and consumes all
-Abyss is a virus like Void, changing every living thing into a mutant
-Center is now the God's home
-The God is not actually a god, but a legendary beast beyond all human comprehension
-Earth is now uninhabitable except for survivor settlements, most everything else is covered in Abyss and mutated humans, animals and plants.
-The Wave had awoken a special power in the gifted individuals of every species that was close enough to the beast's path
-This is now referred to as Space Magic

So, who are you and what the hell are you going to do about this new mar on the beauty of the universe? As both the Void and Abyss spreads, your species (be whatever it is) is in grave danger. Are you normal or gifted? Are you the captain of an Earth vessel or Alliance warship? Are you a pirate or smuggler bent on making profit from the sudden chaos? Are you just some person living on the survivor colonies of Earth or a vast, intellectual being of light? Either way, sooner or later, you will find the fate of the universe will pull you in somehow.

-Seriousness aside, have fun with it, it's supposed to be sort of campy and epic at the same time
(think Hitchhiker's Guide, but totally unrelated in plot)
-god-modding in the sense of knowing everything is not allowed, but you can be incredibly powerful, not to the extent of unkillable however.
