A young Trianean nobleman with an extraordinary voice.
Mannerisms: Jhera is scrupulously polite and courteous in all that he does, a very visible sign of his upbringing, along with the crystal-clear High Trianea accent and aristocratic cadence that has come straight from the Royal Court of any kingdom you care to name. It does, however, lend him an air of distantness – compounded by his other Akademiye qualifications and relative youth - and of being difficult to please and mildly sarcastic, which does suit his sense of humour. He is, however, generous and friendly to most, once the effort to get to know him has been made.
Habit: He has a habit of giving people nicknames, and of playing with his jewellery when considering a problem. He has no real conception of money, either, and will share his prodigious purse indiscriminately with his friends. He doesn’t like to admit anything less than complete expertise, and is erudite enough to generally make a fairly educated guess about almost any subject he doesn’t understand.
Hobbies: Hillwalking (revelling in the absence of the Far Isle Guard), shoots and hunts, sailing and swimming and reading – whether it be fiction or fact.
Disabilities: None
Intelligence Level: High
Mental Illness: None
Character's short-term goals in life: Fit in well at the Trianea Akademiyi and prove any doubters wrong beyond a shadow of a doubt that he can sing with the best of them.
Character's long-term goals in life: To ensure the continued dominance of House J’net and its fortunes upon the sea, and the acquisition of knowledge.
How does Character see himself? Knowledgeable and broad-minded.
How does Character believe he is perceived by others? A powerful noble and not someone to cross, but who knows an awful lot. Something of an anomaly, too.
How self-confident is the character? Assured of his place in the world.
Does the character seem ruled by emotion or logic or some combination thereof? He is ruled by logic and the steady progression of decisions, but allows his emotions to inform those choices.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Loyalty and knowledge / Somewhat prideful and aloof.
Introvert or Extrovert? Introvert
What does the character want out of life? To be taught by all the Akademiye and know their secrets and to use that knowledge to secure his dynasty’s position.

Is the character judgmental of others? Quite highly – he often finds it difficult to shake off first impressions.
Is the character generous or stingy? Generous
Is the character generally polite or rude? Polite.
Personality: Jhera is quite a caring soul, in truth, but he’s tempered by his lessons and knowledge of the world – of which he has seen a fair bit. He is something of a student of human nature, and tends towards pragmatism – shading into ruthlessness where the fortunes of his House are concerned. He is (perhaps justifiably) proud of himself and his extended family and all they have achieved, especially considering the stigma and scepticism he faced (and continues to face) concerning the quality and depth of his voice – and his persistence in learning other forms of music.
Jhera is, then, a complicated person. He likes to form his own opinions of things – which can take a while, resulting in his reputation for being slightly distant – but is surprisingly tolerant of new ideas and ways of doing things, the legacy of J’net’s long flirtation with the sea.
Born: The Porphyry Chamber of J’net Palace, in the largest of the port cities of Trianea, which is part of their ancestral fief.
Now Lives: Trianea Akademiyi, also the Palace of Silver Dragons, House J’net’s residence in the capital.
Lives With: The other students in the Akademiyi, and the staff who run the Palace, along with various relatives who wash in and out of the place.
Relationship Status: Single
Education: Jhera received private tuition in a wide range of subjects from a young age, and then progressed to studying at the Akademiyi in Wisse, followed by in Grenaia. He regards it ‘the curse of House J’net’ that he has no aptitude at all for water-based songs, given their wealth stems from the sea.
Wealth: Born into the highest echelon of nobility in Trianea, and to the fantastically-wealthy House J’net, Jhera has never bothered about money in units of less than millions. J’net trading fleets are the backbone of many economies, a benchmark from which things are measured.
Occupation: Akademiyi student, Duke of the Far Isles
Income: Hundreds of thousands of Trianean marks as pin money from his estates, much more from House J’net’s trading fleets and shipping concerns.
Skills:
• Skilled in the use of poison daggers.
• Extraordinary voice
• Knows fire and darkness-based songs.
• Diplomatic
Background: Born into House J’net, Jhera has long been groomed for its patriarchy. His accession to the ducal throne and the leadership of the entire noble House came when he was young, both his parents (along with a goodly portion of the city) carried off by a virulent fever from across the oceans. He has established a network of reliable seneschals and reeves – mostly drawn from his many relatives of various shades – to manage his interests while he hones his talents and knowledge. Trianea Akademiyi was at first sceptical of his vocal ability and refused him admission; unused to such cavalier refusal and treatment, the fiery Duke took himself off to Wisse, that impoverished nation that cannot turn away any talent, where he entered into the Akademiyi and learned all the skills of the flame-bringing notes.
With one Akademiye credential under his belt, his next stop was Sobaya – although not for long; it was here he learned his crippling inability to master water-based melodies, despite (or perhaps somehow because of) his heritage, and fled to dark Grenaia and Mapeliard, only recently returning to Trianea with two fulsome Akademiyi certifications in hand and a refusal to accept being turned away a second time.
