Introduction
There are many forms of magical learning centers and institutes scattered throughout the Multiverse, let alone Gaia. But none stand higher at the pinnacle of magical research than The Azure Citadel, a great towering sandstone fortress towering above the sands of The Sapphire Desert. No mere school for novice wizards, The Azure Citadel is reserved for the intense studies and explorations of only the most accomplished and powerful wizards and sorcerers. The Citadel itself and much of the surrounding desert is owned and ruled by The Blue Dragon King, Suzerain Tyretlethen. He is a mighty dragon, and an ancient and wise sorcerer in and of himself. He has seen fit to convert his massive lair and castle into the renowned institute it is today, to further his own and other's understanding of magic's potential as a fundamental driver of the universe.
The Azure Citadel is an expansive complex carved into a large sandstone formation that stands in the middle of the otherwise barren Sapphire Desert. From a distance, it appears as a large mesa with spiring towers twisting all around it. Upon approach, however, one notices that all the spires are painstakingly crafted and formed together to form sweeping gothic arches and buttresses that go all the way down to the desert floor. The tallest spire is crowned with a massive, oversized sapphire that glints from great distances away, and is the Suzerain's greatest treasure. Inside the cathedralesque building itself, pilgrims and accepted wizards alike marvel at the vaulted ceilings, flowing water features, expansive libraries, and luscious living quarters provided to even the lowliest of initiates.
The institute itself is lead by Grand Master Wizard, Eustace 'Grey' Therello. He is without a doubt one of the most accomplished and powerful wizards on all of Gaia, and is a stern proponent of magical superiority. He oversees all aspects of the Citadel's proper operation, from its security forces to the progression of its enrolled members. His leadership is what causes the citadel to have its stuffy, competitive atmosphere. The old wizard believes a lack of conviction and passion will ultimately lead to a given magic user's downfall into obscurity. He personally examines each applicant that enrolls to the college and gives them their first test (often touted to be the hardest), before turning them loose to their own devices. He answers only to Tyretlethen.
It is up to each and every magic user who walks beneath that first grand entrance way to decide whether or not they will be forgotten by the inexorable march of time...

Rules
Essentially the same rules as the MV, with some notable exceptions;
You cannot raise your own rank unless given a test by a superior peer
All magic mechanics are to be based off of basic D&D 3.5 principles.
You are allowed to make up new spells and styles as you desire, with the agreement that they will be fair and balanced.
You must be an accepted character to post here and be acknowledged as a legitimate enrollee in the Multiverse. (Use OOC thread for signups)
What happens either here or in the Multiverse is considered canon.
You cannot raise your own rank unless given a test by a superior peer

Magical Experience: My magics lie in my Light and my sheer brute Strength. However, when it comes to my true power lies within my Voice. My Voice can summon Lightning Storms, Sense the enemies around me as well as shoot my enemies far back into a walls and to stun my hapless foes. My Light is Strong and it is true.
Notable Discoveries or Achievements: The slaying of many Evil doers in the Western Regions
Primary Magical Focus: Thu'um
Arcane Summary: Ability to summon large Thunderstorms on a whim to attack creatures around her. Warning: Also attacks allies with this ability. The second is her Aura Detection, which allows her to see hidden enemies cloaked in either shadow or invisibility. Third is her "Unrelenting Force" which can force enemies back by about sixty yards and stun them for two seconds
Assets: A hoard of thousands of Gems of all kinds, gold piles for laying as well as lots of silver and mithril armor to see her Reflective Light
Reason for Applying: I wish to provide the College with the Way of the Voice, to help them find themselves within this Noble place of higher thought and reason

Magical Experience: 7 years of my life as I was 14 when I first discovered I had a talent for casting a spell. When I hit the age of 16 I had already gotten two books published about the theories on the connections of the planes and when I hit the age of 20 I had finally created my finest experiment, the Arcane Engine created, and several more books written about magical theory on the proper form of casting evocation spells.
Notable Discoveries or Achievements: The Arcane Engine along with several published works.
Primary Magical Focus: Generalist.
Arcane Summary: Roy has a mixed repertoire of magics he uses. Roy has been known to cast spells from the school of evocation and even some from the enchantment and abjuration but he has no preference.
Assets: None to say the least besides all of his books that he keeps up in his room and the Arcane Engine he created.
Reason for Applying: "I wish to learn more about magic and properly harness its power to help others.

Name with Full Title: Immund Gorondum Coppertop and Herald of the deathly Forge.
Magical Experience:For 63 years of Immund's life was nothing but training and arcane thesis from the very start along with armor and weapon smithing and a few other crafts that took him down to other academies just as this one.
Notable Discoveries or Achievements: Immund publish his own book of theories on the correlation between certain undead and the fear of sunlight or other forms of bright illumination and the feeding habits of ghouls within their own kingdom and what their hierarchy is like. Besides those two things Immund is most notable for his drawings and notes on the bodies: Elves, humans, halflings, gnomes, and dwarves alike were cut up so that their organs could be properly studied and marked.
Primary Magical Focus: Necromancy

If he is not throwing a fireball or two from the school of evocation then he is calling upon the school of divination to look for something in particular and see what could be.

Reason for Applying: Surely there has to be someone who can call upon the business savvy of a dwarf and the knowledge of the dead to properly protect themselves.

Arcane Summary: Grey excels in changing the world and people around him, using the best of Conjuration and Transmutation to change entire landscapes, buildings, and sometimes reality itself given enough time. He is also very skilled at nullifying the magical powers of others and supernatural phenomena in general.
Assets: Grey essentially runs and entire magical institute and is extremely well compensated by his King. His total net worth is at least two and a half million platinum pieces.

This is the character approval thread for potential applicants to the Azure Citadel. Before we go any further, there are a few things that need to be completely understood;
1. This is not Hogwarts. There are no real 'classes' and there are no 'teachers' or 'students'. There is only your recognized rank. Even the newest addition to the Citadel is allowed to hold seminars if they feel they are up to the challenge. The Azure Citadel is primarily a research institute for wizards and sorcerers alike to further their knowledge of the arcane.
2. People coming to the college are expected to already be powerful casters or accomplished magical scientists. If you don't think you have something to offer the Citadel, then take your application elsewhere.
3. If you are accepted here, you are expected to follow the Citadel rules both here AND in the Multiverse.
Now that we got that out of the way, we can get on to the application form:
