Introduction

Fifty years have passed in the Naruto world. Things have moved on, and the Council of Shadows, the alliance formed by the Kage of the five great nations, still holds power over most of the land. They still do not agree completely nor trust each other, and so to fix this a newly discovered island has been turned into a shinobi land, Kisetsu no Kuni, or Land of Seasons, and each land will be sending their genin there for the chuunin exams. It has also been decided that a neutral person, a very skilled samurai from the Land of Iron, which has never taken up any side in any of the Great Wars, will be apointed the title of Jikankage, or Time Shadow. He will be the proctor for the exams.

As this is a fairly new Land there isn't much there. Because of the exams there are four small villages, one for each seasons slice. These villages all have ports for the ships carrying the genin, and are like any other small village. From these the genin are taken to the lands hidden village, Hattatsugakure, or the Village of Hidden Growth, located in the spring section of the island. It is here that the first stage of the exams, the written portion took place, and it is from here that the genin are lead to the second stage, the survival test. The genin teams have been spread out along a chain link fence, which surrounds the center of the islands, where all four seasonal areas come together. It is here that the test shall be held because through out the test each team will ahve to venture through the different seasonal areas, dealing with that particular type of terrain and weather. As per usual, they will each have one of two scrolls, Heaven and Earth, and must possess one of each to enter the tower at the center of the Land of Seasons, where the final part of the exam will take place.

As mentioned earlier, each area of the Land has it's own season, and there for it's own weather and terrain. Here is a lsit of each.
Summer Area- this area has hot, dry weather with very few cool breezes. It rains very little, and when it does the shower doesn't last for very long. The terrain is dry, rocky, sandy, and dangerous. There are cliffs and revines to deal with, as well as random deserts with untold lengths, not to mention the wildlife, things like coyotes and poisonous snakes and such. However, here in the summer area, fire based jutsu have double their usual strength.

Fall Area- here there are cool breezes which blow often, and the leaves are always falling. While it may be warm enough during the days, it gets cold at night, and finding food here is tough because any fruit has usually fallen to thr gound already and begun to rot, and not many animals come out. There are forests and fields here, but the leaves all over the gound make being sneaky hard, plus it is easy to be seen when moving through the forests because the lack of leaves and color makes spotting you all the easier.

Winter Area- it seems to snow constantly here, and it's always very cold. sometimes there are blizzards or hail storms, and sometimes it will actually rain, but it'll be more like shush. There are mountains here, lots of them, as well as caves and tunnels. If you're lucky you may find a long tunnel system that'll keep you out of the col, if not, well, there are always the lucky ones who can find caves to crawl into. As for food, it's hard to find, but there's always water, even if you do have to melt snow and ice to get it. The animals here are feirce, but there are very few.

Spring Area- it's always the perfect temperature here, and usually warm as well, but the showers that come and go are completely unpredictable. There are new plants and animals everywhere, but that isn't always a good thing. with a variety of animals some may try to eat you, not to mention all the bugs. There are flowers and plenty of fruit and vegitables to eat, but there is also poison ivy and poisonous foods growing everywhere. You have to be cautious of everything here.

Our story takes place just before the second part of the exam begins. Everyone and their teams will be lined up and waitng at one of the gates, in one of the seaonal areas. The meat of the roleplay is getting to the tower. Secrets will come to light, there are, as always secret motives behind everything, and death is always an option.

Need to Know
Genin can be from any land, not just the Great Five. You can be from an established clan or group or make up your own. I'm looking for new sorts of characters and jutsu here. Just remember, there are no more Uchiha, Sauske and Madara/Tobi were the last two, and they're both dead now.
As far as the tailed beasts are concerned, don't bother with them. Just don't.
When you make your character, list your home Land and Village in the history, and list at least 6 jutsu in the Equipment section. You can have more, and all basic skills are assumed known, but I want at least six listed, and at least 3 need to be uniqu to your charcter.
Also, you can have a higher ranked character not taking part in the exams, but if you do you must list this in History as well

Before the rp actually starts we'll pick teams. Obviously it'll start with people from the same lands, but besides that we'll have to decide. I want at least 2 full teams, 3 would be better though. You can have more than one character, but you need one main character. If there aren't enough for a full team then toss away MPCs can be used. Meaning that your charcter and 2 NPCs will start out, but then they or you get seperated then meet up again at the tower, just to the exams can go on like they're supposed to.

If there are any questions, PM me. We'll figure out teams in the OOC section, then do intro posts, then the exams will begin.

Rules

No god-moding (meaning no invinsable characters or jutsu or things like that)
No sore losers (if in a fight you cannot win, just give in, admit defeat, or if it seems unfair contact me. not everyone can be a winner)
No killing (NPC ninja, sure, kill away for the story, but if it's somone's character, no killing unless concent is given)
No Uchiha!
If you want to be part of the secret plot, PM me
Edit bios accordingly (see the introduction section, under Need to Know)
Posts should be at least a paragraph long
Battles will go on for as long as they need, however if I feel it's just getting stupid I'll step in and intervine with storyline, or PM the fighters and tell them to resolve it all in their next 2 posts

other than that, basic rules, and have fun with it

Jin stood a bit away from his teammates just outside of the survival area. They had been placed before Gate 13, and had been told that there were over fifty gates all around the area. At this particular spot they could see a long stretch of open, grassy plains that ended abruptly in what seemed like a wall of trees of varying sizes and ages. Glancing to his left he could just make out another team in the distance, set before their own gate as well. It was impossible for him to tell where they were from, but that didn't really matter.

"Hey, Megumi-chan, which scroll did we get?" Jari asks, grinning widely as his faithful companion, Shinshi, stood next to him, gazing past the gate, anxious.

"For the tenth time Jari, we got the Heaven scroll, see?" Megumi said in an annoyed voice, holding the scroll out so the symbol was clearly visable. "You really do have the attention span of a rock, don't you?"

"This is bad luck..." Jin spoke in a soft, quiet voice, like sand falling in an hourglass. "Father says that those from the Land of Earth should always be connected to the land, otherwise they are useless. Getting the Heaven scroll right off is bad luck."

"I didn't think you believed in luck Jin-kun." Jari said, seemingly happy enough, though the grin had shrunk somewhat.

"I don't, but my father does." Jin answers briskly, hating himself for even remembering such nonsence. "There is no such thing as luck, only skill, power, and timing. there was a fifty-fifty change we would get the Earth scroll, same as the Heaven scroll, nothing more or less. Now, stop worrying about scrolls and begin concentrating on your life. It's unlikely we'll meet anyone until nightfall, or later, but we must be on guard."

"Nicely said Jin." Megumi said, her eyes closed for a moment, giving him a smile.

Jin shifted his feet. He was anxious and excited, wanting to get this show on the road. Although he had continued training up intil two days before the exam his father had forbidden him to fight, so that he would save his energy for the fights to come. That made things worse. He had the feeling that when the first ninja team came after him there would be plenty of bloodshed. most done by himself, out of sheer boredom. then, after that, he would be the calm and cool person he usually was.

A low growl eminated from a young man sitting ross-legged before the gate. He had been sitting there for well over seventeen minutes waiting for something to happen, listening to his teammates bicker all the while. The two younger boys, Mifune and Taro had been arguing over who would carry the scroll the second the proctor had handed the thing over. Sho's head constsanly shifted back and forth, listening to each genin make their arguement about why they would be the best candidate to hold the scroll. Finally, he could stand no more of their foolishness and snatched up the scroll for himself. It took a moment for Mifune and Taro to realize what their supposed leader had just done.

"Hey!" they yelled as one. It was almost comedical how much they were alike. Sho arose from his seat, and after brushing himself off proceeded to glare at both of his fellow genin. He was two years older than both of them, and usually used his seniority to his advantage. Taro immediately averted his eyes and stared at his feet. Mifune held Sho's glare for a scant few seconds before backing down and mumbling some sort of insult.

"Well then. Think about it a moment. Isn't it only logical that the member with the most profficiency with genjutsu to keep the scroll safe?" the dark skinned youth grinned warmly, causing his team to relax. He took a moment to glance at the scroll. An Earth Scroll huh? he thought. I woulda preferred Heaven, since we're rain and all...but whatever.

The Amegakure team looked out beyond the gate, accessing their path. They had been placed at gate 22, and the terrain beyond was...unsavory looking, at the very least. Frost-crusted dry soil covered in dead leaves and rotting vegetation, and no small amount of gnarled trees. In the distance, Sho spotted rain clouds and smiled slightly. A cold wind blowing out from the gates carrying the tang of rain confirmed his suspicions; Today was going to be a good day. He had been itching for a real battle since their last mission, and that had been over a month ago.

"Well boys, I think it's almost time...let's rock."

"Well, you ready, Yukari, Degaro?" Midori asked, staring at the forbidding landscape in front of them. Kyonae sat on her shoulder, perfectly still.

"Of course!" Yukari beamed, the youg girl playing slightly with the bat that hung from her hoop earing, grumbling all the while. Midori smiled. The bat, Bejimu, always had a temper.

Kira, Degaro's partner, paced eagerly in front of the gate, her master sitting cross-legged just behind her. "You have to ask, Sister?"

All six of them were ready. She knew they would all automaticaly bond with their partners as soon as they entered the forest. Havng been connected to the animals for so long, the could all hold the Battle Mode form for eighteen days straight, without wasting chakkra either. The animals knew what was comming, and were restless. Kira especialy. The panther was itching for a fight.

Alright, genin from around the ninja world, the time you've been waiting for has arrived! Will each team please make a finacl check of your belongings, the voice over the loud speakers said, then paused to give them all the chance to do so. Now, open the gates! And with that the papers seals which had been keeping the gates closed all burnt up and all fifty or so gates swung open, inwards, inviting everyone insdie. There was a sudden surge of chakra from all around as teams rushed inside.

Jin, Jari, and Megumi all nodded to one another, then headed inside. Knowing that they would more than likely spend a few days in this place they took their time and strolled leasurely towards the forest, across the soft grass.

"This is gonna be great!" Jari said, shaking his fists as they reached the thick woods. "I can't wait to figure out who has an Earth scroll so we can beat the snot out of them and take it!"

"Why are you always so violent Jari?" Megumi asks, shaking her head as she looks around. "For all we know, it might be possible to just sneak up on somone while they sleep and take the scroll, right Jin? Jin?"

Jin wasn't paying attention to the conversation between his friends. Instead he had his eyes focused on the treetops. For a second he thought he say a man in red standing on the very tips of one of the trees, glaring down at him, but the there was a gust of wind and suddenly the figure was gone. after that he shook his head and looked back at his teammates.

"What was that?" Jari asked, spooked. "I've seen you stare off into nothing before, but that was something else. Should we be worried about something?" And as if he knew what was going to bed said, Shinshi, the young bear, let out a soft roar and moved closer to his master.

"Someone is watching us...I suggest we hurry along after all. I'd like to avoid whoever that man was..." Jin said solomnly.

"Who first Mitsuru?" Jo asked, looking over at his leader. "We got the Heaven scroll, right?"

"It seems there is a group from Amegakure here. I think the boss would be interested in them, so lets check them out." Mitsuru says with a smirk, rolling up his left sleeve to reveal a summoning tattoo. "Summoning Technique: Ten Scorpions!" He calls out, after biting his thumb and running his blood across the tattoo.

Before him on the ground appears ten large, purple and black scorpions. They look up at their master, claws snapping, tails twitching. They are roughly the size of melon, and deadly poisonous. Jo and Itcho step back, knowing full well just how dangerous those guys can be.

"Boys, I want you to scout out the place, find me anyone who might be interesting to fight, who possesses an Earth scroll, and be sure the find those Amegakure brats, okay?" Mitsuru says with a laugh as the scorpions all nod and take off, scattering.

Mitsuru and his team are located in the Summer Area, the perfect place for a team like themselves. When the time comes, if they have to, they will split up and seek out what they need alone.

# Autumn Area, 2010-07-02 23:05:20, as written by Ghaarme
"Awwww, yeah!" right off the bat Sho was hooting and dashing through the gates. The two younger genin grinned and flew out into the Fall Area testing zone behind their leader. In seconds the Amegakure team was leaping through the decrepit treetops making a good pace. Each was eager for a battle and a chance to test their mettle, more to prove their village's superiority than any personal strength. Jumping from branch to branch, Sho's mind wandered back to the last minute tips the proctor had given; First and foremost, find a steady supply of water. Second, make sure you have some sort of shelter, some place to retreat to if things become too dangerous. Third, never, ever, trust another shinobi team. Even if they have the same scroll as you, taking you out would increase their chances of finding another available scroll.

Well then, he thought with a smirk. "We should get to the largest water source in the area. Ta-ro-kun?" Sho drew out each syllable, slamming to a halt against a thick treebranch and turned to face his teammate. Taro almost tripped when he came to a sudden stop and glared at Sho a moment before smiling.

"Alright alright. Gimme a moment..." the short, sandy-haired genin pulled his headband over his eyes and began flowing through the gestures of his jutsu. It took a full minute before his hands stopped moving, the lengthy technique coming to a close. "Water Release: Water Seeker Technique!" with that, Taro's body began to vibrate and drew a low hum from the nearby air. After a short while, he removed the band from his eyes and pointed to the northwest. Mifune smirked and patted his friend on the back, and Sho snapped and bounded forth for their new destination. On the short trip, the team took the time to observe the Fall Area. It was bleak for the most part, with a seemingly endless supply of dead trees and leaves littering the ground. The only halfway-viable source of water would've been the hoarfrost limming the bottoms of the trees, and most of that had dirt or fungus on it. They saw a few deer and even a moose licking the frost though, so it must've been safer than it appeared. Sho wondered just how big the water supply Taro sensed could've been given the horrid landscape. After one more leap into an open field, he got his answer.

"Damn...nice work Taro." the team now stood in a large, open field of dead leaves surrounded by skeletal trees. A great lake took up a majority of the space, passing all expectations of what Sho had expected to find. Tiny bits of ice floated along the edges, signifying that the water was cold and fresh. "Well boys, I guess we just chill and wait for another team for now."

Mifune nodded in agreement. "This place is a prime camp site, so others will be drawn here like flies to honey!" Taro patted the shorter genin's head and sat down near the edge of the lake. Sho simply stared at the forest, waiting.

Roku sprinted along a cliff side, his teammates right behind him as he ran. Not much to drink around here, he thought. He stayed close to the cliff to take advantage of the shade it provided - not much of a breeze, but at least it was a bit cooler here. He squinted and saw a hint of blue in the distance - and oasis? Might be a mirage, but better than waiting against rocks all day. He ran toward it with Sora and Touma right behind him.

He let out some chakra as he ran, forming a thin cloud of moisture around him - enough to keep sunburns and the worst of the heat at bay, anyway. Thankfully the tiny sparks that ran through it were small, hard to see, though they did glow - still, he supposed, he wouldn't need the cloud at night if that oasis turned out to be real. Though others might be headed for the same spot - if they beat him there...

He began to pick up the pace - though he kept it on a leash, last thing he needed was to kick up a dust cloud. As he approached the oasis, he wondered if anyone had beat him there, even with his speed. If they were close enough...nah, even at a full sprint it would be hard to make it there before him, even with a head start. Besides, he thought with a grin, company would certainly make things interesting - especially if they had the right scroll handy.

Jari and Megumi were quiet as they began to make their way through the tangle of trees and branches. There was more room to move here than they had expected, but the going was still slow.

"Why can't I just let Shinshi-san slash our way through?" Jari asked again, "I mean, we could get through this stuff much quicker that way, right?"

"We can't do that because we don't want to leave a trail you dummy..." Megumi said, rubbing her head. "Your supidity is giving me a headache, please just shut up for a few minutes, okay?"

Jin watched as Jari's face sank and he resumed the tedious task of moving the branches and vines aside so that they could make their way through the thicket. they were rewarded for their efforts, however, as once they were through they found a large open space, a natural clearing, with a small stream running through it from north to south. Once he felt how cold the water was, Jin suspected that this stream began in the Winter Area to the north and continued down into the southern Summer area, where it simply dried up at some point.

"We'll make camp here for the night." Jin said. He hadn't been given the position of leader, but because he was older, and at least when it came to Jari's skills, more apt as a ninja, the others listened to him. "Now, as far as I can tell, we're near the Winter Area border, and with the stream here anyone from that or the Summer Area could follow it right to us, so we should make sure we're ready for the night."

Reaching down to the case on his hip Jin takes out a kunai and uses it to mark a tree, pointing from the way they came towards the center of the test area. That way when they woke, or if they got lost, they could find their way. with a nod the three of them then scattered. They had previously made the plan that once camp was made they would scout for food and other supplies.

Jin headed south, while Jari moved north, and Megumi southwest, more towards the Autumn Area. but, as Jin left, he noticed an odd looking scorpion watching him.
-=-=-
Summer Area

Rather than makeing camp Mitsuru and his team began moving. Mitsuru himself has started towards the Autumn Area, hoping to find those Amegakure-nin. For reasons unknown, Gyaku has taken an intrest in any shinobi from that village and made is a priority to 'speak' with any such ninja.

"I can already see the deathly looking trees. It shouldn't be more than an hour until I reach them." Mitsuru says, pausing atop a sand dune as one of his scorpions reappear at his feet. "Ah, there you are. Now, where are they?"

Using the bond Mitsuru and his family have with the Blood Stalker scorpions it is easy for him to understand it. this scorpion was able to find the Amegakure-nin easily enough, at a large water source surrounded by dead trees, but there was a small hole filled with freezing cold water that it fell into before it could find anything more. With a strange, kind smile Mitsuru reaches down and pets the scorpion, then dismisses it, leaving nine others scouting things out.

Jo and Itcho have moved towards the Spring Area.

Shiro yawned, putting his hands behind his head. "Lets get this over and done with.." he mumbled. Miyuki, one of his teammates smacked him on the back of the head. "Cant you take this a bit more seriously?" she said, although it sounded more like a demand. "OW! Damn it Miyuki, you dont have to smack me!" he complained rubbing his head where she hit him. "Oh? I think you deserved it." Kenji said with a small grin. Shiro rolled his eyes before stepping in through the gate. Miyuki did a bit of stretching before being ready. "Alright stick close, dont get distracted." she said. "Why dont you just lead the group?" Shiro said looking at her. She thought for a moment before answering, "No I dont want to. I may be good at ordering people around, but I dont like leading. Come on Kenji do your job." she said. He waved her off and jumped onto a tree, soon followed by Shiro and Miyuki. "You have the scroll right?" Kenji asked just to make sure. Miyuki stuck up her thumb, "It's all here." she said with a grin. With that, that raced off into the woods.

"Try looking for a decent place for a shelter. Somewhere safe that blocks out the ran." Kenji ordered, as he looked from left to right. "Remember Shiro, you're in charge of looking out for the back." Miyuki reminded him in a stern voice. "I know. Just focus on your job and dont worry about us." he said keeping an eye out. After a few minutes of jumping from tree to tree, Miyuki spotted a small den like cave. "Over there." she poined out, jumping down to the ground. Kenji gave her a nod, as she pulled out a kunai and silently ran over to the cave. She peered in through the entrance and slowly stepped in. It was empty, and it seemed like a pretty good place to stay in. "It's safe." she informed them coming out of the cave, putting the kunai away. "Alright!" Shiro shouted, but not too loud. He stepped into the cave with Kenji trailing behind him. Miyuki sat down, leaning against the cave wall, and crossed her arm across her chest. She had her eyes closed, but she was listening to every little sound. Staying alert as ever...

Roku, Sora, and Touma were gathering water at the oasis. Good think it wasn't a mirage after all, thought Roku. As he capped off his water, he sat back and rested for a moment in the shade. After a few moments he heard a small scuffle near the rocks on his right. Lifting a rock, he saw a fair-sized scorpion. "Ah, geez, little water, hot temperatures, and now we have to deal with these little," Roku let lightning coat his fist before smashing it into the critter, watching it's shell break under his blow like an egg shell, "pests!" He shook his hand to get the scorpion slop off it, then tucked his water away. "Come on, guys, let's go someplace more favorable in terms of climate." He noticed a faint dried riverbed leading away from the oasis. "At least the water will be colder" he said to no one in particular as they ran north.

Sora ran toward the trees and climbed up one as the moved north. He wanted to get to a higher position that way if the enemy attacked he could see them coming, or if they were ambushed they at least wouldn’t be easy targets like a herd of cattle or something. Sora yawned a bit, he was kind of disappointed they had seen no action yet, they couldn’t win if they didn’t get the enemies scroll so Sora wanted to fight. Sora jumped from tree to tree watching over Roku and Touma. Sora then heard something rustling in the trees. Sora made a few quick hand signs and his hands were covered in water chakra, he used his Lion roar Jutsu and shot a lion head made of water into the leaves. A bird flew out and Sora stared, he couldn’t tell if it was the bird or something else that was rustling in the tree, but he decided it was best to keep going. Sora jumps to the next tree and keeps heading north with Roku and Touma.

Roku leapt up into the trees, keeping pace with Sora. "Careful with the jutsu - we're crossing over the borders between the Summer and Spring areas, and I doubt this area will be as barren as the Summer area - in both green and foes." That said, he would have preferred the Winter Zone, but most teams would have likely left in a hurry to get out of the cold - just as they got out of the heat, he thought.

"Also, keep an eye out - I think that might have been the same thing i smashed back at the hot spring, and if there's one here, too, then it's not native - kill any you see from now on, they might be scouting for one of the other groups - a summoning jutsu, or maybe a rather freaky Kekkei Genki." said Roku as he leapt from branch to branch. He signaled to Touma and he jumped up. No need for any ground groups to spot a lone Touma and think to look up and find the rest of the group. Better that they stick together for the time being."

"Miyuki, everything's set up." Kenji said with a stretch. She nodded, knowing exactly what he meant by that. Shiro on the other hand game back with 3 full bottles of water from the river. "Catch." he said throwing one to each. "It's safe to drink." "Thanks." Miyuki and Kenji said at the same time. "Tch, it's going to be a pain in the neck if someone comes.." Shiro grumbled. "It's too bad we might have to fight some of our friends.." Miyuki added. Kenji nodded in agreement. "Remember try not to get in a fight during the morning. Night is the best time to ambush someone." he said. "Yeah, yeah I know." Shiro said with a yawn. Miyuki kicked him against the wall, "How many times do I need to tell you? Be serious!" she hissed at him. "Ahyaya... That hurts." he whined. Kenji sighed and took a seat. "Both of you, keep is quiet." Miyuki took a drink of water, and sat there. The whole team stayed quiet, taking a break.

# Spring Area, 2010-07-03 15:35:04, as written by Soul_Alchemist
Jin stops suddenly and kneels behind a tree. Already he has almost reached the border between Spring and Summer, and he can feel others approching. It feels like an entire team, and then another set of two, both headed for his position.

Damnit, we shouldn't have split up...well, I can't lead them back to camp. I'll just hide and wait, maybe they'll pass me over... he thinks, crawling behind a large thorn bush to wait it out. Looking around he finds a gap he can see through and suddenly one of those scorpions walk by, first one way, then the other.

A moment later two ninja appear. From what Jin can tell they are from Wind Country, but don't seem to pose too much of a threat to anyone. But then, one of them reaches down and picks up the scorpion.

"Hey, Itcho, lookie here, we found one of them." the taller of the two said, "Must've been tracking somone. Might still be close by."

"I doubt it Jo, you know if anyone ever sees his spies they try and kill them. I mean, why would anyone let something like that stay alive in the first place?" Itcho responded, keeping his distance from the scorpion. "Besides, how smart can those bugs be anyway? they've got to have brains the size of a peanut..."

Jin wasn't sure weather to laugh at this or get ready for a fight, so just to be ready in either case, he reached into his pouch and took out one of the figurines, a frog, and held it in a closed fist, pouring a little chakra into it in case he needed to fight.
-=-=-

Jari and Shinshi were making quite a racket as they moved through the underbrush of the forest. They were headed north, towards the Winter Area, but already they'd reached about as far as they wanted to go, and were about to turn around again when Shinshi picked up the scent of someone. The bear stopped in it's tracks and looked to their right, then growled.

"What is it boy?" Jari asks, patting his friend on the back, then taking a step away as the bear stands up. "You mean, there's a group of ninja over there somewhere? Well, let's check it out. I'm sure Jin and Megumi wouldn't mind a little recon work, right?"

As they approched the area shinshi had sniffed out they slowed down. The bear could feel three chakras coming from a cave up ahead.

Autumn Area

"There they are..." Mitsuru says with a smirk.

He and his scorpions have tracked down the Amegakure-nin to their camp near the lake. Already most of his scorpions have returned to him, giving him the information he needs to know where everyone is. Jo and Itcho should be near the Summer and Spring borders, as well as one member of the Iwagakure-nin, and the entire Kumogakure-nin team. That should be an interesting match.

"Now, let's see what we can do here my little friends..." Mitsuru says, rolling up his left sleeve more then before, revealing a second, more elaborate tattoo. "Summoning Technique: One Hundred Scorpions!"

With a line of blood through the summoning tattoo the jutsu is completed and all around him Blood Stalkers sppear. With a nod from their master they all moves out, spreading out as they go. They move towards the Rain-nin and will begin to surround them, more to draw attention than anything, although their stings can cause you to loss control over your muscles.

Kenji's eyes shot open. "We got visitors.." he said as the metal wires on his fingers gave a light pull. He had set that up earlier so they would be able to tell if anyone was close. Miyuki opened her eyes with a sigh. "So much for a break." she mumbled before gently nudging Shiro. "Get up we got to move." she said with a stretch. "Raiton Kage Bunshin." *Poof* 3 clones were made, each one looking just like Shiro, Kenji and Miyuki. "The clones can hold them up for a while if they are looking for a fight. We can loose to waste our energy right now." Miyuki said grabbing her stuff. Kenji nodded. They all sprinted off, jumping form tree to tree.

"Wher we going now?" Shiro asked. "Well, the sun's going to set soon so the winter area is not the best place to be in since it's cold. How about the summer area?" Kenji asked looking over at them. Miyuki nodded, "Alright lets head to the summer area." she said changing her direction. Shiro and Kenji followed. Kenji cut off the metal wire, leaving it hanging somewhere near the cave. The clones stayed inside the cage, closely listening and waiting to see of anyone was coming.

Ruko and his group moved further into the Spring area, being careful to be quiet. As they leapt from branch to branch, he let his cloud cover fade, the tree shade being enough cover from the sun.

He focused on the air. It felt more...moist here. Not humid, just wetter. Maybe there was a lake or stream nearby. Wouldn't hurt to top off their water. He had taken a few swigs while they ran. He signaled to Sora and Touma and they angled their movements to move to where the moisture seemed to be coming from. After a quick drink they could resume looking for the other ninja teams.

As they moved deeper into the Spring zone, he enjoyed the rustling of the trees and leaves, always a nice sound - though for some reason it seemed more like clicking today...

"Did they show up yet?" Kenji asked as they continued to head over to the summer zone. "Nope.. my clones dont see anyone for now. Wow there's a lot of teams in the spring area.." Miyuki mumbled. They all jumped down to a small river. "Hey lets look for some fishes so we can eat." Shiro said with a smile. Miyuki rolled her eyes but agreed anyways. They all caught some fishes with their kunai, and gathered some wood. "Katon, Gokakyu no Jutsu." Miyuki sent some fireballs onto the wood, making a camp fire. They stuck the fish through a stick and left it above the fire. When it was done, they took a bite. "You have to have a full stomach first before you do anything else." Shiro said already finishing his.

A few minutes later, they all finished eat and just sat by the fire, taking a short break. "Come on lets get going now. We need to find a place to stay during the night." Kenji said. They poured some water onto the fire before heading off again. "Ah~ this exam is boring." Shiro complained. "It's because we're not ready to steal other people's scrolls yet. Be patient." Miyuki said going ahead of Shiro. He made a face and tried going in front of her. Kenji couldnt help but chuckle at how childish Shiro was acting.

# Village of Hidden Growth, 2010-07-03 19:09:39, as written by TralalaVudu
Umiko Nomuro glared at the top of their gate and said, pointing to the number: "Oh, look...we got the gate number 1". Mijaro Nomuro, her brother, expressed a grin of confidence and replied with energy "Do you know what it means? It means that we are the top ones. We are going to kick asses and win. YEAH!". His sister than echoed this "YEAH". Hiato Arishi was a few steps behind the twins. He had his eyes closed and his expressions formed a small, peaceful smile. Hiato liked that optimism.

Mijaro than declared with even more confidence, gesturing as he spoke "And we will be the first ones to reach the tower. We will rush there and take an earth scroll from them". Now Hiato opened his eyes, showing some worry. The optimism from the brothers Nomuro just turned into foolishness. "Mijaro, You dont expect us to..." Hiato tried to say, before being rudely interrupted "No! As the assigned leader of Konoha's team 12, I state now that we are going to rush there and win". At this time they heard the speakers and the gates were opened.

The leader said to Hiato "Find us at the central tower and try not dying until there. Lets go sister!". He than started making some handsigns. Umiko had a sad look in her eyes. She realized that Mijaro's plan was stupid, but also started casting the jutsu. Both than shouted together: "Ninjutsu: Burst of Speed".

Hiato was left alone, nodding to their imprudence. Good thing it was to have cast the Three Bells' genjutsu at his partners, so he could track them. Soon the twins would be tired and would stop to rest. Hiato closed his eyes and took a long and peaceful breath to purify his chakra. He than runned into the woods.
At distance, while sprinting, Umiko turned her head back. She didnt knew exactly why, but a lone tear rolled from her eye.

# Autumn Area, 2010-07-03 20:32:19, as written by Ghaarme
The lake had been quiet for almost an hour now and the Amegakure team was getting restless. Well, mostly just Sho. He sat cross-legged on the leafy earth staring into the dead silent forest, absently digging his nails into the cool dirt. Taro and Mifune were playing some sort of game with tiny blocks of ice that had drifted ashore. Sho caught wind of Mifune's sudden halt in movement, and looked over his shoulder at the young genin. Mifune was standing now and staring directly into the forest with a look wrought of pure focus. Sho smirked and leapt back to stand by his teammates in front of the lake, Taro similarly arising to face the forest. "What's the deal Mi-kun?"

The short boy glared at the treeline and began a complex series of handsigns which the other two recognized as the beginnings of a Water Release jutsu. "Big chakra generation. Very big. Very close." after a moment of thinking he added, "Not something a genin should be able to pull off, not alone at least." he continued through the chakra-focusing gestures and the other shinobi nodded in understanding. "Clones or summonings, they permeate the air with chakra. At least thirty medium sized enemies, maybe twice that if they're smaller."

"Clean sweep then." Sho said with a grin, and both he and Taro stepped forward. The two locked hands, Taro's right to Sho's left, while their free hands went through specific handsigns. Their linked hands mirrored eachother in intertwined handsigns, both boys focusing on their coordinated jutsu. By using two shinobi for the same technique, it made taking the strain of higher level jutsu much more bearable, sometimes easy in fact. They were nearly done when the first of the scorpions broke the treeline. Although shocked and somewhat confused, the team retained their focus. Not noticing that the giant arachnids were slowing down, Sho and Taro were the first to complete their jutsu.

"Combined Technique, Water Release!" they shouted as one, "Grasping Tides!" in an instant water from the lake rushed past both sides of the Amegakure-nin, crashing into the army of summoned beasts. With power and speed only to be expected of a technique beyond genin levels, the water receded back into the lake, dragging the entirety of Mitsuru's bugs into the icy waters. At nearly the same instant, Mifune completes the final handsign for his own jutsu. The genin spun on the ball of his foot to face the lake.

"Water Release! Swallowing Depths Technique!" the crystal waters now filled with floating scorpions dipped down, and suddenly begun to rotate. The waters soon became a relelntless whirlpool, tearing and ripping at their puny bodies. Within seconds the fearsome waves came to a halt, with roughly a hundred scorpions floating around in pieces. All three of the team smiled, with Sho turning to glare into the forest.

"That all you got?"

"Just what I'd expect from Rain-nin." Mitsuru said with a laugh as he appeared, balanced perfectly atop one of the skeletal trees. "And especially from those my master has an interest in..."

With a wave of his hand all the scorpion bodies dissapeared. some of them were in fact dead, but many more were alive, though hurt badly. All one hundred of them were un-summoned in an instant to the warm, and to them, healing sands of a lost village in the deserts of Wind Country. Beringing his hands back together he began to clap, still smiling. It was obvious that these ninja were skilled beyond their years, and considering the harsh judgement Amegakure had recieved over the years due to the events involving Pain, it was no suprise.

"Unfortunately for you three, no, that's not all the tricks I have up my sleeve, so to speak." Mitsuru said, reaching behind his back and taking out a large scroll.

The little ninja then opened the scroll and tossed it into the air. After this he bites his thumb and jumps down after it, moving with it at it unrolls, revealing the Summoning Technique markings. While falling he weaves a long chain of hand seals, and when he reaches the ground he stretches out one blood covered hand and presses his palm to a certain clear spot on the scroll. When he does this, a huge scorpion, large enough that it's tail can be seen over the treeline, is summoned.

"Summoning Technique! Lord of the Desert, Narakoto!" Mitsuru says.

"What the hell do you want now Mit-chan?!" the scorpion roars at the little man. "I was having a nice nap, now I'm in this frozen wasteland!"

"It isn't frozen, just chilly! And don't call me Mit-chan anymore!" Mitsuru says, catching the other end of the scroll as it falls beside him in a heap of paper. "And, besides, master wants these three studied..."

"What now?" Jari asks Shinshi, looking up at his friend from their hiding place in the brush around the edge of the cave. But the bear only growls, not sure either. "Well, fine then...let's see if they wanna talk or fight..."

Standing up together they, Jari reaches into his pocket and takes out a white cloth, what he used to use as a headband before he got his official one. As they approch the mouth of the cave he raises it into the air and waves it back and forth.

"Hey! What village are you guys from?" he half yells half asks, but Shinshi halts and growls quietly.

Miyuki stopped. "What wrong?" Kenji asked stopping as well. "Ah no nothing my clones just met a few other ninjas." she said and moved on.

------Back where the Clones are--------

Miyuki looked over at the ninjas, "I'm from the hidden village of the unknown.." she answered eyeing them carefully. Kenji and Shiro didnt answer. Shiro glared over at them, "What do you want?" he asked rudely. Kenji gave him a look telling him to chill out. "Are you here looking for a fight?" Kenji asked in a rather calm tone as he observed the ninjas before them. Miyuki caught the sight of the bear behind them... and usually the team was a group of three, but there was only two of them here. That means they split up... or the other one is hiding somewhere close to make a move... she thought to herself. She gave Kenji and Shiro a look and they gave a small nod knowingly.

------------------------------------------

"I dont think they realize we're a clone... but even if they find out it's ok. We're pretty far away from there." Miyuki explained as they picked up their speed. Kenji nodded, "Good." he said looking around the surroundings as they moved. We're almost near the summer area... If we're lucky we'll be able to steal someone's Earth scroll during the night."

Kiyoko entered through the gate of the Autumn Area, her teammates no where to be found. They had split up, one going into the spring area, the other summer. She was the one with a scroll, an Earth Scroll.

Kiyoko saw the leaves on the ground, and looked up at the trees. They didn't provide much cover, but if she walked on the ground, she'd be caught in a fight already. Smiling, she said to herself, "So let's opt for both." Kiyoko took out the blade her mother gave her, it was small, almost unnoticeable, but it worked none the less. It's abilities were not able to be accessed yet, as for she wasn't in a fight.

"Ketsueki no Jutsu." Kiyoko said, and her blood created a clone of herself. Once she was satisfied, Kiyoko headed up one of the trees, and the clone walked through the forest. It didn't matter if the clone was down on the ground, if ninjas were really after her, then they would eventually get to her.

She hopped from tree to tree, quickly, before her blood started dripping. it should have stopped bleeding by now, what's going on? Then, she sensed ninjas ahead of her. She would be noticed right away, but none the less, Kiyoko was prepared to fight anyone.

Jin had stayed still long enough. from what he had gathered of the two Sand-nin before him neither was very strong, and only the one called Itcho seemed to be smart enough to tie his headband on securely. He had also gathered that their leader, the third member of their team, was working for a man named Gyaku. Personally, Jin had never heard of this man, but he didn't sound like good news, and he would remember the name for later on. Something told him it would be important.

So far he had managed to silently use his Particle Control jutsu to create three full sized figurines; frog, wolf, and snake. Now, he wishes he had a scorpion, for tactical reasons more than anything. The snake slithers around the feet of the two shinobi and they jump. Jo stomps on it, wincing as he hurts his foot on the solid stone body of the animal.

"Damnit! What kind of snake is that?" Jo asks, stepping away.

"It's not, it's some kind of jutsu. Come on, get ready. The ninja must be around here somewhere!" Itcho says, reaching for a kunai.

The wolf, by now, has gotten behind them, and it howls. This distracts the two of them, and they turn to check it out. This is when the frog leaps up and swallows Iicho's hand, along with the kunai, and because of his weight, the ninja looses his balance and falls over. This is when Jin personally steps out, making a series of hand signs as he does so.

"Ninja Art: Dust Shuriken!" Jin yells as the dust collects in the palms of both his hands while he raies them up. when the dust has formed completely he tosses two shuriken at the standing Jo. They explode into a cloud in his face and he stumbles backwards. At the same moment Jin leaps forward, delivering an upper cut that sends him into the air a good foot before he drops back down, unconcious.

"You must think you're pretty good, useing deception like that to get Jo," Itcho says, standing up, shattering the stone frog with his chakra alone. "But, I'm quite a bit better than my partner. Let's see how you do against a medic-nin, a master of chakra manipulation!"
-=-=-

"So, they're just clones?" jari asks, looking over at Shinshi and sighing. "Well, I guess you guys aren't a threat then. I want trouble, but a real fight, not just some fakes. I'll see you later maybe."

He turns and waves them away as he and Shinshi head back towards camp. Along the way the collect a few fruit and refill their canteens. Once they reach the camp they simply wait for the others to return.
-=-=-

Autumn Area

"Mitsuru...that idiot. He's already gotten into a fight with them." Megumi says, hiding among the dead trees, having cast a genjutsu so that she looks just like one of them. "I know the master wanted more information on those three, but this is just stupid. He's got the scroll, the Heaven that they need as well. He should have at least left it with his partners..."

Megumi had been sent into this exam as a spy, but only that. She has no intention of actually fighting anyone, and if it comes to combat, she'll simply use genjutsu and try to escape.
-=-=-

Winter Area

"They picked the perfect place for us, didn't they girls?" Kasumi says with a giggle as she takes the Earth scroll they needed from the body of a waterfall-nin. "With Masumi's genjutsu, my water skills, your taijutsu Chisumi, and the cold of this place, we can easily win it all."

"Right, now let's hurry up and get to the tower!" Chisumi says impatiently, pulling her jacket closer. "You two know I hate the cold!"

Masumi nods in agreement and the three of them start for the Tower. Kasumi holds one scroll and Masumi the second. As long as no one tries to stop them they can head straight for the Tower without incident and be the first with both scrolls there.
-=-=-

Hidden Village of Growth

"And you said your name was Makoto, from Sunagakure?" Yamamoto Sonkei asks the young man in the red kimono standing with him among the large group of shinobi from all over the world, waiting and watching the cameras to see which team makes it to the Tower first.

"Yes, why do you ask?" Gyaku asks with a friendly enough smile for a stranger. "Is there a problem with that?"

"No, no problem. Just curious." Sonkei says, looking the man over once more. He can tell there is definately something off about this man, but can't put his finger on what. He decides it'll be best to keep an eye on him throughout the exam, just to be sure.

Sho scowled as the previously hidden assailant revealed himself. It was hard to make out just exactly which village the newcomer hailed from, but the fact that he knew exactly who they were was a little unsettling. Hearing about this person's "master", wasn't too reassuring either. The rain team formed a triangle, each member having drawn a weapon with SHo at the front. While the other two had brandished average kunai, Amegame himself had brought out his own curved blade for battle. They watched warily as Mitsuru unfurled a rather long scroll and went through the motions of a jutsu. All three of the Amegakure-nin were on edge, steadying themselves for whatever was to come. It was a shock when an insanely large scorpion burst forth out of thin air, and began bickering with the summoner.

Without another moment's hesitation Sho had already begun closing in on the enemy. He intended to crush this bug head on. No questions asked. The distance between the summoned beast and the shinobi closed within a span of heartbeats. The Ame-nin quickly skidded under the great arachnids, lashing out with quick lunges aimed to take out the legs between the joints. With a trio of swift handsigns, Sho completed his assault with a final attack. Water Release: Teppōdama! with that, a hyper-condensedblast of water launched from the shinobi's mouth, both large and powerful enough to cause some serious damage to the summoning considering the attack was from directly beneath it.

Back near the lake, Taro and Mifune had been startled by their leader's sudden outburst and stayed behind. Instead, the pair opted to begin their own attacks to suppliment Sho's physical charge. Taro completed his technique with Mifune only seconds behind.

"Water Release!" they called out as one, although the results were quite different. Mifune spat out a jet of high-pressure foam that would impede movement and obscure vision as well as damage, the Hōmatsu Rappa, aimed at the scorpion's front legs and face. Taro's jutsu however, formed as an eruption of water from his mouth. The fountain spread out into a small wave of heavy forced water that would slam into Mitsuru himself, if he didn't move fast enough. A trademark ability, the Mizurappa. All this, in less than twenty seconds.

Watching the battle close by, Kiyoko was a bit surprised to run into another team of Amegakure ninja so quickly. Seeing as they used Water-based Jutsu, she sighed, getting bored. She didn't want to fight in this battle really. It looked really boring. This guy used scorpions...does that mean he's from Suna?

"Come on, make this more exciting. I'd rather be in the Winter Area." Kiyoko called out, knowing that they most likely did not hear her. Kiyoko's clone was still roaming around, so she dismissed it, not needing to waste her chakra. More Water-based jutsu...was that all they really knew?

"I really don't want to get involved with this fight at all..." Kiyoko said. But, if they spotted her, she might as well take part in this match.
