Introduction

A long time ago...

In the year 1270, 400 years after the fire nation was defeated by Avatar Aang, the Air benders returned and the world regained balance. For a long time peace reigned over the world. One large city had been created and was home to people from all four nations. Over a long period of time the city expanded. It grew larger and larger, until it had become a nation on it's own. The Republic Nation, gained power and earned it's place amongst the other nations.

Eventually the Republic, grew too much. It's steel buildings began to poison the earth. The quality of life around the nation lessened, and the people began to suffer. The Republic's leaders would not admit to their own wrong doing. So they began to invade all four nations, to steal their natural resources and assimilate all culture into the Republic. The massive steam and coal powered machines of the republic proved to be an equal force to the bending of elements. At a time like this the world could only look to the Avatar, to bring balance to the world, and save them all. Little did they know that the Avatar was behind the entire take over. He came to be known as, The Fallen One.

The Republic went after the bender's first. They were easy to find since they made up the front lines of the battle field. For twenty years the benders were hunted down, and they became scare, close to the point of extinction. With all hope diminished they hid, no longer able to fight. The war still raged on, but in the midst of battle the greatest heroes are born. A group of rebels began to rise up and gather member's in the shadows. Traveling around the world recruiting the elite of the elite. They came to be know as the Exiles. One day they came across a special bender, with the power to borrow the bending powers of others. That bender would become their weapon against the Avatar.

Unfortunately their efforts failed. At the time before they launched their attack, the rebellion was crushed. The Fallen one proved too great a force for the group of bender's. Their secret weapon failed, turning on them at the last hour. The Fallen Avatar, would continue to rule over the republic.

The Avatar created a system in which the reborn Avatar, would be taught to rule as the Fallen one did. The cycle continued for thousands of year's. It is now the year 2230. The republic has grown and advanced technology exists. Bending has become a lost art, only a very limited number of people still posses such abilities. The city is run by machines, and the people still struggle to survive. Only those who are wealthy or have noble blood, live in luxury high above the filth of the city, they reside in the upper district. Located atop the buildings of the fallen city.

Rumor's are spreading, the Avatar, has died, and his successor is yet to be found. The new avatar would still be young, and nearing adulthood. A small group of friends have set out to find the next Avatar. Untrained in their bending, they hold on to hope. If they find the Avatar maybe things could change.

The story begins in a run down apartment, where the friends meet for the first time after being chased by Republic drones.
(Depending, on the number of char's there may be more than one group. One in the under city, one in the Upper city.)

Background Information.
The City, is split into two halves, Upper City, and Under City.
Royals, wealthy businessmen, and nobles reside in the Upper city.
Everyone else not fortunate enough to be born into wealth resides in the Under City.
If anyone is seen using bending, they will be arrested and taken to the containment camps in the Lowest levels of the Under City.

(This is not only my char's intro, but an intro to the story. You don't ever have to post this big, I probably wont again. It's just sort of an epic opening for the RP)

The steel walls echoed with the industrial sounds of the city. Factories that produced machines and weapons, thundered as metal crushed metal and was grinded together. The city groaned as it's metal structures, slowly gathered rust. Oil, leaked into the streets, leaving them black, and covered in grime. The smoke from the factories clouded, the sky. The light of the fires reflecting off the metals, gave the Under city an eerie, orange glow. Republic city was a scourge to the earth. High above the smog of the city, the Upper city stood. It's inhabitants both oblivious and ignorant of the horrors below, live clean healthy lives free of struggle. Children played with the newest toy's, while their mother's and father's sat in a nearby bench, listening to the radio. Reading their newspaper's and learning about something called a television.

"Who are they? These filthy worms that dare defy the will of god?" Said General Karro. "I am outraged by your incompetence. All you had to do was get those little girls checked for the blood of the Avatar. I trusted you and your men to transport the machine from the southern continent, and for whatever reason you come to me empty handed. Not only that you tell me that an entire squadron was taken out by three people? What the hell kind of Soldier are you?"

"I'm so sorry sir," began lieutenant Harvey. "We underestimated the mission sir. The soldier's were not properly equipped, and they took us by surprise. They distracted us while those three benders snuck their way inside the train and stole the cargo. The Sky-train, was completely over taken by pirates, we had no Idea that the Under-city criminals were equipped with flight techno-"

"Silence I will not have this quality of soldier's in my army, by taking this mission too lightly you have cost us time. Time that we do not have, the Avatar has died almost twenty year's ago. We are to find the newest one, the avatar MUST be found. Emperor Marque, is ill and the city government is falling apart. Rebellions are ensuing, food supplies are running low, we need our leader." General Karro took a deep breath and sat down in his chair, massaging his forehead. "You will be sentenced to death Harvey, you must be punished. Take him away!"

Meanwhile in the lower city streets. Kazuo was walking through the bazaar, it was always easy to steal food for him and his sister here, and Eket too sometimes. The sack in his back was half full of fruits and other foods. He liked some of the newer Upper city food that he sometimes found being sold, it came in paper wrappings and tasted very sweet.(Talking about candy bars.) He leaned over one of the food stalls "asking" about the quality of certain pieces of meat, his other hand stealthily snatching a pork-cow leg and putting it in his bag. He left "Unsatisfied" by the merchants poor quality meats. He was near ready to go home, the weight of the bag was pretty good now. He began to unwrap a sweet bar, as he headed to the end of the bazaar and to the lower levels.

Suddenly there was and explosion and a loud crash. Looking behind him he couldn't believe his eyes, a pirate balloon was crashing down. It ricochet off the building walls and crashed into the bazaar, followed by another. In the air space above he could see a Valkyrie, which was the republic army's police vehicle.(Looks like a motorcycle without wheels powered by oil, and flies using propellers.)
"Stop where you are! You are being placed under arrest for treason against the Republic!" A loud voice came from one of the vehicles, it was directed at some of the survivor's from the crashes. Scattering in all directions pirates that managed to survive began to run away, they were blending in with the crowds of citizens that were already fleeing the crash site. He then noticed that more Valkyries were showing up.
"Shit," He said as they began to drop sleeping gas. He took his head band and wrapped it around his face. Kazuo began running, those pirates had something important. The Republic wasn't taking any chances, they would soon send the Drones. Robots, slightly taller than average men, they are not very deadly, but they make up for it with their large number's. They were about to put the Under City sector into lock-down. He had to get away those republic soldiers would arrest anyone in the area simply for suspicion of being a pirate, and until they got what they wanted, even if you were innocent you wouldn't be set free.

(If you are part of the Under City, the commotion will involve you. But it does not involve what you were doing before it happened, so you can introduce your character in a peaceful environment before throwing them into the action. You might not even be affected by the commotion in your first post, but at one point you will. This event is what will lead us to meet each other.
Those of you, if any, In the upper city, will attend Lieutenant Harvey's execution in the public square.)

Clary walked down the side of the street she could hear her stomach as she walked by the food stands that stood there. There were only 4 things she every stole sweet bars, soda pop,raw broocroilli and anchovies for Jace. She loved sitting there looking after Jace., it was the only time she actually felt like she was needed. This was the first time Jace had climbed onto her shoulder and was going "Home" with her because a abondon apartment was what she called home. As she was on the way back she heard a explosion and a loud crash. She turned around with a swift movment and heard the police yelling at someone. It seemed like a usual thing you would hear in the city though as she turn to walk away Jace jumped off her shoulder and headed toward the sound. "Jace, wait thats not a safe way to go come back!!!" She yelled as she begun to run after him. She finally catch him when she saw a boy a few years older then her running away from the cops. She wonder how she could him get away. As he ran by she grabbed him by the arm and pulled him out of the road. "Are you ok?"

Avani opened her eyes and glared up at the sky, well what she could see of it anyways. She huphed and crossed her arms in annoyance as the sound of the explosion and the republic police coming and trying to stop whatever was going on.

Avani stayed like this for a while. Simply glaring at the sky and cursing her luck. “Is it too much to ask to have a nap?” she said through gritted teeth. Sighing she decided that it wasn’t smart for her to stay up on top of the building and ignore what was going on. Instead she got onto her hands and knees and made her way over to the edge of the building to see if she could get a better look at what was going on.
She leaned over the side of the building and just below her a yard or so to her right she saw the disaster area. There was a pirate balloon in the middle of the street with valkyries running from it. Her eyes widened at the scene below her and she whistled in amazement.

“Stop were you are! You are being placed under arrest for treason to the republic!” one of the republic cops yelled from above turning Avani’s attention towards them. The thought to see if she could take some of them down had crossed her mind however she was far outnumbered and it was obvious that if she tried anything she wouldn’t going to get anywhere.

As sleeping gas started to be dropped down towards the ground Avani watched as people started fleeing from the market. A boy with a bandana and a girl chasing a cat into the disaster zone caught her attention before she noticed that the gas was starting to rise. Deciding that it was high time to hightail it out of there Avani got up and started sprinting, jumping from building to building.

# Republic City., 2010-11-19 14:14:09, as written by Machina Ex Deus
Saomaru was always up with the sun. Or at least, she suspected that it was the sun that dictated her rising, though she could not see it from the Undercity. A glimmer of blue-green iris became visible beneath black lashes, but then disappeared again as Saomaru scrunched her eyes shut, blinking a few times to clear the residual drowsiness from them.

She knew from experience that Kaz would likely be snoring away in the next room over, to awake fairly soon himself, but she would be gone by then. Raking a comb through thick black strands of hair, she swiftly braided it and tied her characteristic greenish headscarf over her scalp and forehead before slipping into loose, nondescript clothes. Cinching her sash at her waist, she crept noiselessly past Kaz's room and out the door of the ramshackle building the two presently occupied (probably not entirely legally) and down the street to Dr Aliyah's home. Aliyah was a wizened, brown woman of about sixty, with silvered hair and a smile missing several teeth. Rumor had it that she had once lived in the city proper, and had been banished down here when she'd done something to offend the avatar himself, back before she and her brother had even been born.

Now, the old woman served as the sole physician in this part of the Undercity, though nobody knew where she got her supplies. Saomaru had been hired as her apprentice not too long ago, in the oddest of manners. She'd actually been caught in the act of pickpocketing a passerby, but only by Aliyah herself, who'd caught Saomaru's hand as she walked by and told her to put it back if she wanted a real job. Panicked at having been discovered, the girl had done just that, at which point the old woman had promptly declared that she was now a novice doctor, and would be working for a wage for Aliyah herself. Somehow, it had all worked out.

The air was thick with the stink of sulfur; many of the operations necessary to keep the upper city running but not particularly safe were carried out down here, and it was rare that the air was clear of pungent industrial odors. Saomaru scarcely noticed it anymore, save that half the patients that came in on any given day were afflicted with horrible coughs and wasting lungs because of the pollution.

The bell on the wooden door to the rundown clinic jangled plaintively as the small young woman stepped inside. "Ah, Saomaru, you're here. Good; get to work mixing these poultices, then go buy me some more aspirin from the chemist. Money's where it always is." There was a nod, and the old woman disappeared into the back rooms. Saomaru could hear the characteristic cries of a newborn child, as well as some residual pained whispers from what must have been the Undercity's newest mother.

That at least explained why everything was running behind today, and the girl went immediately about the business of mixing the medicines as she had been taught, restocking the various shelves out here with the tools necessary to Aliyah's trade. Privately, Saomaru thought that Aliyah might be a Waterbender; though infrequently-seen, such things were still possible, and it was rare for one of the old woman's patients to die, though she did use other medicines, perhaps to keep her powers hidden.

A few hours later, at about midmorning, she was off once more, a small bag of coin guarded well against thieves. One of the benefits of having been one was knowing exactly how to stop one, and never did Aliyah lose any money to anything save the merchants. Sometimes, Saomaru supposed that in itself was the reason she'd been hired in the first place.

About halfway to her chosen destination, her musings were interrupted by a resounding crash from above. An upper city balloon was careening through space, and came to land some distance off, seeming to spew Valkyrie vehicles from all directions. Saomaru's eyes went wide; this couldn't be good. She caught a glimpse of a blue bandana- Kaz was here, and he was doing the smart thing and clearing out as fast as possible. She'd best do the same.

Saomaru was, among other things, an accomplished runner, and she took off from a dead stop, willing herself to move as quickly as possible to escape the vehicles. Ducking and dodging amidst the chaos, she eventually located what appeared to be an abandoned warehouse of some sort and ducked inside. The illumination was poor, and she used this to her advantage, pressing herself against a wall so that she might remain as unseen as possible.

Staring at the cold steel cell walls, Kyrios sighed, another day in the Under City prison. Of course he wasn’t always here. He was going to explore the world until he got caught using Water Bending near the Republic lands. He was hauled into the Under City and was now making his living as an unpaid labourer, mainly sweeping streets or fuelling the furnaces for the Upper City. A guard came to the door.
“Come on you, you’re going out in the chain gang today. Lucky you.”

Unluckily for Kyrios, today he was sweeping the streets. Half-heartedly he swept the brush back and forth, only for passers-by to kick the dirt straight back onto the parts he had cleaned. It was more torture than actual work. He was boiling in his artic suit and had his jumper tied around his waist. A large chain attached to a heavy steel ball stopped him from running away, as well as a few guards standing over the several prisoners doing similar tasks.

However, with a thunderous roar the great balloon came down. A stray girder chunk came down and severed the chain and the ball on Kyrios’ leg. He needed no second bidding for two reasons. One, he was free. Two, the balloon was heading straight for him. He bulled into the nearest guard to knock him over and continued to run in a straight line away from the rest of the guards.

He was making good distance for someone who had eaten so little and slept so badly until he ran into a large building. He was thrown backwards and landed on his back. He looked up and saw it as some sort of warehouse.
Better than nothing. He thought as he got to his feet and ran inside, tripping over the chain still attached to his leg and landing face first on the floor.

Kazuo ran in between people as the crowds started making their way's into alleys. It seemed like a good idea, get off the main streets avoid the attention of the Valkyrie police vehicles. Wrong. As soon as the crows was half way through the alley, Valkyries blocked of both ends of thin passage. Kazuo panicked, he could try and scale a building, but that would attract more attention to himself. He ran back towards the other end, hoping to slip under the police vehicle. Before he got a chance, somebody got a hold on his arm and pulled him out of the crowd. Just in time too, as soon as he got pulled away the canisters of smoke were thrown into the alley.

"Are you ok?" A girl said, worriedly looking over him. He took a moment to catch his breath, his hands resting on his legs to support himself. He stood upright and pressed up against the wall, keeping out of sight. He looked at her, she was young, had a sort of aura on her. As if he could feel the streets on her, before she told him he could tell she was an orphan. He had the same aura around himself.

"My name's Kazuo, or Kazu if you prefer." He was about to continue when his heart stopped, looking behind her he could see some familiar shadows. A group of drones was coming towards them, about twenty of them. If they didn't move they would be captured. The drones were carrying stun batons, they were charged with enough electricity to paralyze anyone if they so much as got graced by one.
"Run, we'll talk later." Ha grabbed her by the arm and began to run away. He only wished he had his sword that way he could at least put up a fight. He had to find someplace safe. Ahead of them was a warehouse, they could get away there.

They eventually got to the building, Kazu crashed through the door and landed on the ground with a thud. "Well that was fun."

Clary watched as Kazuo crashed down the door. She gave out a chuckle as he landed on the floor with a thud. Jace was finally back on her shoulder where he belonged. Clary walked a little ways into the building before she found a box to sit on. She opened her backpack and gave Jace a ancovie. She turned back to Kazuo, she dug through her bag a found sweet bar. She held it out to him as she said "Nice to meet you Kazu the names Clary and this is my friend Jace".

Several things happened in quick succession after Saomaru ducked into the warehouse. First of all, another person seemed to follow almost on her heels, landing most ungracefully on the ground. He was... odd-looking, to say the least. There was a chain attached to his foot, so she guessed he must have made the upper city people mad somehow. That was the way things worked; those who were imprisoned were rarely the actual criminals, but rather those who had been bending, if they could, or otherwise incurring the wrath of the government.

The person was dressed in blue and white, and Saomaru could not help but think that he must be awfully warm in those furs. Maybe he wasn't from around here? That seemed more than likely. Still, he obviously wasn't with the government, so it couldn't hurt to make sure he was okay, right? "Umm... excuse me... are you all right?" She stepped out of the shadow she had been occupying with the intent to check him for serious damage when her brother dived in as well, holding a girl by the arm now. Apparently, the girl both had a cat and also had not noticed the existence of either Saomaru or the strangely-dressed boy, which put the young woman at something of a loss.

Thus, she decided to address the person with which she was most familiar. "Kaz... what's going on out there?" Her tone was colored with worry; such blatant displays of anything upper city related were rare down here, and immediately set her on edge. Could it really have been a mere accident? Saomaru was not so sure.

Eket had won, barely. The fight had gone on much longer than he had expected, and to be honest, it wasn't worth the money he had earned for it. Eket was a fighter by nature, always trying to get better, and had always been that way. He fought people in an underground arena for money. He walked to his rotting little metal shack after the fight, exhausted and barely paid enough to eat for the next few days until his next fight. He was sweaty, tired, and his hands were still wrapped in tape. He felt like shit, and he couldn't wait to get home and relax.
No sooner had he said that, when the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. The was a large explosion, followed by screams, and yelling. He could see drones in the distance, and a crowd of people scatter from something hitting the ground. Without another thought, he looked about, finding ideal hiding spots, when he could see a small warehouse in the distance. He first watched a girl with a green bandanna on go into the building, and not long after, a man with a blue bandanna go in, along with an assortment of others. Eket couldn't help but smile at how he recognized the two. Saomaru and Kazuo were his best and only friends. On occasion Kazu would bring food for Eket as well, when he knew Eket had struck out in the ring. Eket tried to pay him back by being a sort of body guard for when Kazu got in trouble for his deeds around town, but he full well knew that he was mostly unneeded.
He slowly stumbled over to the warehouse, not making it extremely far without gasping for breath from the obviously bruised or broken ribs he had from the fight, when he slowly walked in, and waved a meek hello to the two he knew, and looked at the others he didn't.

Kyrios spun around on the floor, started at the voice.
“Argh! No, don’t take me back!” He began, but slowly realised that the owner of the voice was not part of the police or the guards. He sat up, rubbing his nose, which he had so unfortunately landed on.
“Yeah I think I’ll be ok, thanks.”

Two more people came in very soon afterwards; it appeared that the girl who had found Kyrios knew one of the two. Kyrios was too busy dragging himself into the shadows to prop himself up against the wall to hear what words were exchanged between the two. It was not longer after this that yet another person entered. Kyrios began to wonder if this was the best hiding place after all.

However, Kyrios had more important matters to attend to. He began checking himself for wounds. Other than a sore back and a bloody nose he seemed no worse for wear. He would feel much better once he was out of the Under City though.

Kazuo stood up slowly rubbing his shoulder from busting the door open. He sat up and looked around, he sure as hell didn't expect his sister to be there let alone, the other man. He noticed the ball and chain, must be an escapee, could he be the reason for all this? He passed off the though, the man was clearly not a pirate. He rubbed his head and began to stand up and walk to his sister.

"Well Clary, good to meet you," He said without looking at her, "Can't say that the current situation is ideal for making new friends but, thanks for the save back there." He turned around to give Clary a thanking motion. He then turned back and faced his sister.
Ruffling through the bag of food he noticed he was missing a few stolen items. Picking out one of Saomaru's favorite fruits and handing it to her before he began to explain what happened. "Pirates, some of them crash landed in the Bazaar, they have half the republic police out there. Whatever those guy's did it, it seriously messed something up. They're looking for someone, or something. They've got this entire sector under lock down. I'm OK though, how about you?"

The door opened again and a familiar face welcomed him. Eket, was a good friend of his, he had often helped him and his sister when they were younger. It made him feel safer knowing that a good friend was nearby.

"I'm well enough," Saomaru replied to her brother, accepting the fruit gratefully. Biting into the soft flash of it, she immediately felt marginally better. Fruit sugars could do that for a person, really.

Surveying the immediate area, she noted the arrival of Eket, an old friend of Kaz's. She knew him well enough not to fear his appearance; Eket was a decent person, even if the two of them never really had spoken all that much. For now, at least, it appeared as though the warehouse would not be increasing in occupancy. Something of a relief to Saomaru, who grew uncomfortable with too many people in close proximity.

Her eyes followed the line of the warehouse wall, and belatedly the doctor's apprentice realized that the person who'd taken the worst tumble inside was bleeding from the nose. Eket looked like something of a wreck, though she suspected that had less to do with present circumstances and more with the underground fights he was involved in.

Well, there was something she could do, might as well go ahead and do it. Removing a gauze pad from a tightly-wound bundle at her belt, the doctor's apprentice took the few extra steps to reach the boy in furs and extended it toward him. "Don't tilt your head back," she advised softly, "you don't want to choke yourself."

Patting down her pockets, Saomaru came across some small aspirin caplets and gave him one of these also, before moving on to Eket and offering him the same. "For the soreness," she explained. Satisfied that she'd done what a physician should, she sank down against a wall. Pirates... that seemed like such an odd thing, to happen all the way down here, and now they were looking for something. But what would anyone want that they could find in the Undercity? It didn't make any sense, and Saomaru shook her head. "I guess we can only hope that they leave soon..."

Lieutenant Harvey, stood in front of a massive crowd, many faces were filled with sadness as the kind hearted diplomat was about to be killed. His hands were tied behind his back, a gun pointed to his head. He stood tall and proud ready to accept his punishment, although he was scared he had too much honor to show it. The crowd booed at the judge as his crimes were read out to the public. He was hardly responsible for any of them. He truly wanted to bring peace to the Republic, but now that would not happen. It would only take a few minutes before his final breath was taken.

Kazuo stood with his back pressed against the wall. The noises outside were composed of screams, and yelling. He wondered if the pirates had been apprehended yet. They would be in there for a while. Eket was beat to shit, poor guy. He sometimes pushed himself too hard, but then again he sort of has to, everyone has to make a living somehow.

"It doesn't see, like we will be leaving here too soon, so we might as well get acquainted. Clary, we've been introduced, but this is my sister, Saomaru, little sis Clary." He also pointed to Eket who was taking the pills Saomaru gave him. "That bloody mess is my best friend Eket, surprisingly enough, he usually looks worse." He said jokingly.

"Mother, I'm going to lay down in my room for a while. I'm feeling rather... ill" Wynmere said to her mother, placing her small hand against her forehead, feigning a fever. She gave her mother a sad look, and her mother couldn't help but mimic the face.

"Oh, Wynmere. Do you want me to get one of the maids to get you something?" Wynmere simply shook her head. "Alright. Feel better, sweetheart." Her mother smiled at her before, turning back to the book she was curled up with on the lounge chair in the sitting room.

The light haired girl turned from the room with a smile, making her way up two flights of stairs to the floor her bedroom was on. She slipped inside without so much as a noise, and locked her door behind her.

Tonight was the night that she was going to finally slip away. Tonight was the night that she was going to find others like her - other benders. Tonight was the night that she was going into the Under City.

She already had a letter ready - she knew that when her parents discovered her missing, they would hire a huge search party to find her. Maybe even private detectives. Her best bet, she thought, was to leave them a letter. A letter that would not give away her intentions, but a letter that would hopefully deter them from searching for her. A letter that would simply read that she would not return until things were better, and that it was best that they not fret too much on her behalf. She knew it probably wouldn't stop them from looking, but... she could only hope.

Wynmere pulled open the top drawer of her writing desk, and pulled out the small handwritten letter. It was folded, with the family seal holding it closed. She placed it on her pillow gently, before moving about her room, gathering her things. It wasn't much longer until she was finished - she had been packing slowly over a bit of time anyway, there wasn't much more to get packed.

She slipped out of her house dress, pulling on a rather rugged looking pair of pants, and an old corset top that she had found in a sort of second hand shop. She took her hair out of the braided bun atop her head, unbraiding all the peices and leaving them to fall about her shoulders and back. She ran her fingers through her hair once, just to get any tangles out, and then thought better of it, though only after she had already done so.

She slipped on a pair of rugged looking boots, before grabbing her bag of supplies and her cape. Gazing around her room one last time, she slipped out of door and down the stairs. She knew she could take the back door out - her mother was in the sitting room, and her father was in her parents bedroom. She could hear him yelling at one of her brothers about something. Her other two brothers were on the front lawn playing some sports with some of the neighborhood boys - she could take the back and cut through without ever being noticed.

She slipped out the door to the back of the house without being noticed, just as she had planned. And with that, she began her journy through the Upper City's side streets. She had her cape wrapped around her shoulders, and her bag on her shoulder. She had her silver dagger necklace tucked under her cape, and she had a grim smile on her face.

Of course, she was nervous. What teenager running away from home, to a place she had only been one time, full of unknown danger to herself, wouldn't be? But she continued on.

Her luck so far had been relatively good. But that would change soon enough... As she approached the Public Square, she realized she couldn't hide herself from the large group of people that had gathered. If any of them were to turn around, they would see her, and most likely recognize her.

She pulled the sides of her cape closer to her face, slowly approaching the back of the crowd. There were boos and cries of protest from the people in the crowd, and she squinted to make out what was happening. Thats when she realized that Lieutenant Harvey, a man she had met many a time at parties her father hosted, was on... trial? She couldn't quite tell. She heard the judge reading the mans crimes, and her eyes snapped between the two momentarily - the Lieutenant wasn't that kind of person, and she just knew it. Thats when she realized that this was not just a trial. This was an execution. Her eyes widened in a mix of fear and horror, and she shrunk back from the crowd slightly. She couldn't watch it; she just couldn't. But she also couldn't stand to just leave. All she could do was look on, as an innocent man was put to death.

Eket surveyed the people, clearly suprised so many were here, when there was the stopping of metal feet outside the warehouse. Him being the closest to the door, he could hear it first. He quickly held up his hands to gain everyones attention, and put his finger to his mouth, quieting everyone. The whole reason they were here was to not get caught up in this mess, and the footsteps were right next to the door. He then heard a crackling radio, and heard something about pirates being spotted 2 quadrants away. So, as soon as he had come, the drone that was feet away from discovering them turned and hurried away.
"are there any suggestions on how we can get safe here? Or is stayingin this place our best option?" Eket questioned impatiently, not wanting to have to deal with drones in his current condition. As an after thought, he turned to Saomaru for a moment. "Thanks for the pill, I owe you one." he said with a wink. "it's already making me feel better."

(Sorry for the late response all. ^^U):

Romi sat on the edge of her bed in the servants chambers as she stared at a long dagger, which she'd stolen from her master earlier. She'd had enough of her master's abuse of her. When she walked about the marketplace for the food a day ago, She saw a waterbender, a rarity in this world, being dragged off for healing a dying man with her waterbending techniques. She knew then what she had to do: She would hold her master's son hostage in exchange for her freedom as she walked out the door. Without this, she would not be able to escape, as guards stood about everywhere inside and outside of the Demonte mansion.

Bringing the knife to her waist length hair, she cut it off to a much shorter length, which made the other maids in the room cry out in surprise and question the girl for her madness. "I just...needed a trim." She said simply with a shrug. When she began to used the knife to rip open her long red sleeves however, they knew that Romi was intending to escape. "Child, are you mad? The master will simply leave you in the lower levels to starve for a week if you betray him like that!" One of the maids shouted. But Romi had left the room at that point, without so much as to answer the question. Other maids came to chase after, but she was too speedy for the group to catch up. It didn't take her very long to evade the other maids and find her master's son in his chambers.

"Romi-chan!" A boy cried happily in the chamber. Romi was a favorite of the Master's son, Yorell. When the young child saw the knife however, his eyes grew wide with fear. "Yorell-kun, I don't plan to hurt you. Come with me. Hurry!" She said. To her surprise, the boy came willingly and placed his closest hand in hers. They soon exited the room and made their way downstairs, to the entrance of the home. "Yorell-kun, after this, you may never see me again. When you're older however, I will try my hardest to come back and explain why I left." The boy was no longer fearful of the knife as he was of Romi leaving.

Romi was quickly advancing to the door when the guards stood in front of it. She then shifted to where Yorell's neck was nearly inches from the knife. "Let me go, or I will kill the master's son right now." She said simply. "Let her go." A voice behind her added. Romi turned to see it was her master, Greyes Demonte. The guards opened the door and let Romi and Yorell free. When Romi was certain that they wouldn't follow her, she let go of Yorell, bent down and kissed him on the cheek. "The world has shown me that I must fight, and that there is still hope for me. Until then, please Yorell-kun...PLEASE don't stray on the wrong path like your father." Before Yorell could ask anything about what she meant, Romi had walked far away, leaving the boy on his own and in front of his home.

Five minutes or so later, Romi was in a crowd of people, watching the Lieutenant's execution. Sighing, she accidentally bumped into a hooded Wynmere and hid her face in her hands. What on earth had the world come to? "I'm sorry for bumping into you." She said quickly, offering a low bow in response that she knew too often. Apologies happened to be her specialty, as she said them every day for the dumbest of mistakes.

Avani skidded around the corner just missing another shot. “Stupid drones” she growled. It was just her luck, she gets onto the ground and is making her way to what seems to be a perfectly good warehouse to hide in until this all blows over and then she walks right into a tone of those stupid drones! She was a pretty good fighter and had been able to take some of them out but she was one person going up against a bunch of armed robots and even she couldn’t fight against those odds. So she had high tailed it out of there, with them in hot pursuit.

She didn’t know how long she had been running for but she knew it had been awhile. What were worse the damn robots had forced her to run down alley ways that lead to a dead end. She wasn’t going to give up though. She was going through the best possible way of escaping in her head. Quickly scrapping ideas that didn’t work and thinking of another one.

She didn’t have many options, the damn things were to close behind so doing something like scaling a wall wasn’t going to work because they would catch up and start firing well she was climbing. She couldn’t take the amount that were chasing out either. Growling again, Avani skidded around another corner, tripping and falling to the floor. A small dust cloud hitting her face and making her cough. After the dust had dispersed, Avani stared in slight shock and happiness at what she was lying in. She couldn’t think too long on it however as the shots suddenly started coming from behind her again and she had to quickly get up and start running. The only difference was that she now had a plan on how to escape. All she needed was to make a bit more distance between her and the tin cans and another corner and she would be home free.

Looking around, she saw the warehouse she had been heading too earlier a little way off. That was still going to be her destination, she just had to make sure she wasn’t followed, and that she could hold her breath for that amount of time.

Swinging around another corner, Avani quickly did the required moves, turned in the direction of the warehouse, took a deep breath and she was suddenly swallowed by the ground. The drones just carried on running down the alley way that would soon lead to a dead end with no Avani in site.
The afore mentioned girl was making a tunnel under the ground, in one direction. Popping her head up every now and then to get some air and to check were she was.

Finally she popped her head up in what she hopped was the warehouse she had been aiming for. There were metal walls, boxes and quite a few other people in their, including the two she had seen earlier. Deciding that is was safe to come out from under the ground, Avani hoisted herself up. Finally out of the ground she coughed and shook her head to get rid of some of the dirt that know lightly coated her entire body.

“Hi! Sorry for barging in like this, don’t mind do you?” she said with a weary smile.

"A lieutenant, could it have something to do with the pirates?" he thought. Kazu walked around in a circle, they would have to move out of there soon, it wouldn't be long until they checked this place out. Hopefully by then the gases would have cleared up. He sat next to his sister and softly pounded his head against the wall out of frustration and boredom.

Suddenly a girl popped out of the ground, covered in dust and grime. "Alright, I'm beginning to doubt how legitimate a hiding spot this warehouse is. How many more people are gonna show up? Welcome to the group i guess." Kazuo was tired, this whole mess was getting obnoxious. To make matters worse now there were two bender's with them, Eket being one, the dirt girl being the second. The drones wouldn't enjoy that, even if they weren't bending they could still get in a lot of trouble. Kazu threw down the bag of stolen food in the middle of the room. "If anyones hungry feel free to help yourselves, plenty of food there."

After a few minutes of waiting it seemed like it had gotten much quieter outside. Kazu got up to check the door, Eket was listening as well. It seemed like it was clear, probably time for them to move someplace else.

"Alright, I think its safe out, we might wanna mo-" Kazo was interrupted by the door a man had come crashing into the ware house, he was seriously wounded, with fresh burns and cuts, his clothes had spots of blood on them from what appeared to be bullet wounds. Kazuo was too shocked at first to realize who he was. He helped him up and took him to his sister, the man was carrying something in his arms. It looked high tech, something from the upper city easily. Then he realized what was happening, this man was no citizen he was a sky-pirate. The thing in his arms must have been what the republic drones were looking for. The man was weak he had bareley escaped the drones he could easily see that he didn't have much time.

"Hope," The man said weakly almost at a whisper," hold on to hope no matter what. That's what they told us, because if we give up on hope then there's no way that we can win." He coughed a few times. "Take this, run, don't let them get it. Take it to Corva. He's in the lower sector in the south east district tell him, Easal sent you. Hold on to hope, no matter what." the man then closed his eyes. His hand went limp. Kazuo took the strange machine and stood up looking at it.

"I think we have to get rid of this." Kazuo was worried that they would find them. He couldn't let them do that, he needed to find his sisters/

Wynmere watched the judge reading the Lieutenants crimes aloud, her face turning even more into a frown. She felt hurt - hurt that the government and military would do such a thing to such a person. She felt hurt, because she couldn't do anything about it. And she felt betrayed as a part of this community. From some of the cries of protest, she knew she wasn't the only one feeling that way. But that didn't change what was happening on the platform.

Thats when Wynmere felt someone bump into her accidentally. Her first reaction to the females apologies was to brush them off, without even looking over to see who it was - she had always handled apologies as something that didn't need to be said. "Its quite alright. Quite alri...", but her voice trailed off as she turned to face the girl, for in her own mind, she remembered what she was wearing. The female next to her was covering her face with her hands, probably in reaction to bumping into Wynmere, and she knew that if this female was to see her, she might just recognize her. Her breath caught in her throat for a moment, before she let out a few shaky words.

"Um... It--Its fine. No harm done. I'm alright. I've... uh...", her eyes shifted around her for a moment, taking in her surroundings, as she tried to figure out her best plan of escape from the outskirts of the crowd. "I've got to go..." she trailed off slightly at the end, turning to leave, her hood falling down as she walked quickly away from the crowd. She fumbled with it for a moment as she continued on, trying to keep her long white-ish hair underneath, before successfully pulling it back over her head.

She glanced behind her for a moment to look at the girl who had bumped into her as she continued on with her hurried pace. She recognized the outfit - that of a servant - but... her sleeves were gone. Wynmere knew what that meant, but she didn't give herself time to ponder what was going on as she walked away from the square, once more turning around slightly to see the stage, before turning back with a cringe.

She hoped to the Gods that whoever that was back there wouldn't recognize her, or, at the very least, wouldn't follow her. But... the thought lingered in her mind. 'What if she's abandoned her duties for the same reason?'

When the Earthbending girl quite literally popped up out of the ground, Saomaru couldn't even summon the energy it would take to react all that much. Whatever the reason, she felt strangely drained at the moment. Then again, it couldn't count as much of a surprise. her sisters were gone, her brother was increasingly absent in his search for them... her life was slowly wearing away at the seams, and it would only be a matter of time before it all fell apart, this she could portend with all due certainty.

She mustered a wan smile at the girl, trying at the very least not to come off as rude or uncaring, two things that were most certainly untrue of her. She might have even tried to say something, had not a resounding crash been heard in the very next moment, and a man come lurching through the door.

Saomaru was to her feet in an instant, her doctor's instinct erasing all fatigue as soon as the smell of blood entered her nose. She knew well enough from the very sight of the man that he would die, but that same drive to heal would not allow her to give up so easily, and she was assessing his wounds, trying to determine the best ones to care for first, when he began to speak.

Try as she might, Saomaru could not move. She was strangely transfixed by the speech of one so near death, urging them, urging her to hold onto her hope. Hope... how long had it been since she had felt anything that could be named thus? How long since she'd laughed, or even offered anyone a smile of something beyond manners?

The man's hand was reaching blindly, even as his eyes glazed over for pain, searching for something she was sure could not be there. Even so, she clasped it, feeling the rough skin of calluses as the much larger limb enveloped her delicate one. "Shh..." she murmured soothingly in a voice not entirely like her own, "everything will be all right." A false promise, an empty one, the kind she hated most but formed the most often. On their way to death, she had found, most people wanted only someone to ease the passage, to tell them with a confidence they no longer had that it would not be a waste to depart in whatever condition they found themselves. She had been that voice so often it was quite nearly automatic by now, would have been fully so had her heart not torn a bit more in each instance.

The hand went limp, and she released it, blinking back the hot pricking in the back of her eyes that meant she was till weaker than she wished to be. Turning to her brother, who was now holding the device, she spoke more certainly than she felt. "I say we take it to this Corva person. If we just dispose of it, there's nothing... no way to say that whoever did this won't get a hold of it, and then his life would have been wasted." somehow, despite what it might well mean for her own safety, she could not let that happen.

A grin had spread across Avanis face at being welcomed and not being told to take a hike. Once she was fully out of the hole she rubbed away the dirt that was on her face as best she could, and rubbed her hair once more. ‘The worst thing about travelling underground is how dirty you get.’ She thought, giving up on trying to get anymore dirt of off herself. It didn’t seem to be doing much.

When she went to go grab something from the bag of food that the boy in the blue bandana had offered she stopped and quickly looked up at the sound of a crash. There came in an extremely injured man holding onto a piece of technology. Avani stilled her movements and just looked on. Listening to the man talk about keeping your hope, something there was very little of nowadays. She also watched the girl who had smiled to her when she had arrived try to help and comfort the obviously dyeing man.

“I think we have to get rid of this” the boy in the blue bandana had said once the man had died. The girl who was sitting next to him and was sporting a green bandana disagreed with this, saying that they should help, do what the men had asked and Avani nodded her head in agreement. “I agree, in a way it was his dying wish. And he obviously tried to protect it with his life. I’ll bet it’s something important.” Avani said with conviction, adding her two cent into the conversation.

"Yea, the only problem with that is, do you guys *know* how many people inhabit the south east district? I mean, there are far more people down here in the lower city than there are in the upper city." Eket was trying to be realistic. He knew drones would be looking for them, and he knew that that machine really pinpointed them as a main target. There was already a hefty price on his own head, resulting from a previous brawl where he was forced to use bending in front of a military officer. He hadnt tried to bend since then.

This earth bender, and this scrap metal was more trouble. He had to admit though; something that man had said, something about "hope" a word not thrown around easily these days; Eket thought back to all of the times this world that he lived in had dissapointed him, and how early on he had lost that feeling of hope. He looked around this room to all the others, and saw a light in their eyes; they were clearly effected by this man's words as well. 'Maybe... just maybe...we could regain hope, and along with it, help make this world a better place.' he thought.

Getting excited, he pushed off of the wall he was leaning against, and said out loud breaking the silence, "Alright everyone, reguardless of what is done about this tech, we need to get the hell outta here. Drones start looking in houses and any place they can get their hands on about an hour after they dont find exactly what their looking for, so we need a solution. Whoever is going to go with to take this machine, I'll go with. I can fight pretty well, and I have always been relativly aggresive, due to my bending when I need, so i'm sure I can be a help. Who else is going to come? For whatever reason, this man trusted us, and gave us his last hope. I dont think it was a coincidence that he stumbled upon this rag tag group of street rats."

Kyrios took Saomaru’s advice. He had to admit, it was hard keeping up with all these names flying about. He decided he would sit in the shadows and let them all work it out amongst themselves while he regained his strength.

A few events passed, more people coming in, Kyrios wasn’t paying much attention. The pains in his nose and back preventing him from concentrating but he did not moan about it. However, one event did strike him as somewhat odd. The entrance of the Space Pirate, rambling on about hope in his last moments.

It was then that Kyrios attempted to stand. He managed it, leaning on the wall for support. Speaking out for the first time.
“I’m with you. I didn’t leave the North Pole for this. And I’m not going back in those damned jails!” Kyrios stated. “As long as there is a shred of hope in this machine, I’m with you all until the end.”

The adrenaline rushing through him now caused his nose to start bleeding again and his back to twinge slightly. He muttered something under his breath and tried to staunch the bleeding again.
“I don’t suppose you have another pad do you?” He asked.

[OOC] Starting up again.

If any of you are still interested in this Roleplay please Pm me about it, depending on how many people are still here, we might just keep going or I might start a new Roleplay starting where we left off.

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

lol okay! as long as everyones alive! it would be said if this roleplay died it's one of the most promising ones i'm in at the moment.

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

I'm here too.... but I don't want to post again so soon before everyone else gets to, ya know?

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

I'm not dead yet, I swear!
Okay, I WAS sick. But not dead. >.<;;

EVERYONES DISSAPEARED! were have you all gone???????

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

THANKYOU! i'll do that now! and thanks ark reahver, i may do that if the situation ever occures again. i'm going to try and avoid it though. lol.

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

Hey, it's fine by the way, the not posting thing, i'm glad that you still did. It' always really suck when people post like once and then stop. If any of you don't know what to do because you've been away for a while just post it in the Occ im sure one of us will help.

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

Rose, your best bet is to go into the edit screen and delete all the words then repost. It doesn't get rid of anything, but then it's a blank post and takes up less space. =)

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

opps. exerdentaly posted twice. anyone know how i deleate it. i clicked edit but i didn't see anything that lead to me delating the whole post. anyone have a clue.

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

sorry! for not posting and my character suddenly barging in, i was a bit lost for what to do. i haven't been on the computer because i've been with my grandma for the weekend and helping out at a fair and everything. i only got back on earlier and i nearly had a heart attack at seeing how far you had all gotten!
their wasn't many things i could think of to do with my character so, again, sorry for not posting and barging in on all you undercity people!

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

Yup, I saw it~ And I'm actually working on my next post now, mwahahahaha! xDDD And yeah, I've already got ideas brewing~ :3 It will sooooo work out perfectly. Your post was epic, and just what I needed~

Also, I hope you do wonderfully on your exams! :) I'm sure you will, anyway. <3

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

Hey Gorie! Um, I added a post finally so hopefully my little coincidental bumping into you or whatever works. XDD

Hopefully after exams are up I'll be able to post more. <3

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

I have submitted my character for your approval. :)

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

Looking forward to it. Once, thats done I will Introduce the Event that makes you guy's meet.

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

Ah! I didn't realize you had started character submissions for this yet! >.<

Anyway, I had been thinking of a character to play. And you said that you could use people residing in the upper city, correct? Would it be alright if my character is from a well-to-do family, but doesn't want anything to do with them now? Like, she's discovered her waterbending powers, though has kept it a secret because she knows what will happen to her if anyone were to find out. She wants to be with others of her kind - other benders - but she knows that will never happen so long as she's living the way she is now... in the lap of luxury.

I think that HYUSeiji and I could work on something, as we're both residing in the upper city?

Anyway, I shall go submit my character to your RP. :3 I hope you like her~!

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

If no one shows up to be upper city, I suppose I can have my character fall down to the lower levels somehow, or follow someone who is on their way down there. :) But before anything is definate, I want to see whether or not someone chooses to start in the upper city. Anyway, I have alot of school work to take care of. x.x I'm sure you guys can relate: Thanksgiving break is almost here and while I ALWAYS say I'll finish all my work then, I probably won't since alot of people I care about are coming down for a visit. XD

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

Before we start, Is there anyone that would like to be part of the Upper city group? Because at this moment we only have one character. We don't need to have the other' group but it would be easier for every one to introduce themselves in smaller groups.

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

thanks for accepting me!!!!!!!!! so pyshced for this role play!

Re: [OOC] The city of the Fallen.

Yeah you would be one of the upper city bender's, i think right now you might be the only one, so if it stay's that way, your char might have to go to the under city somehow.
