Introduction
A débutante (from the French débutante, "female beginner") is a young lady from an aristocratic or upper class family who has reached the age of maturity, and as a new adult, is introduced to society at a formal "début" presentation. Originally, it meant the young woman was eligible to marry, and part of the purpose was to display her to eligible bachelors and their families with a view to marriage within a select upper class circle. Débutantes may be recommended by a distinguished committee or sponsored by an established member of elite society. In the Southern United States, débutantes are also referred to as Southern belles. The male equivalent of a débutante is a "beau".
Début presentations vary by regional culture and are also frequently referenced as "débutante balls," "cotillion balls or "coming-out" parties. The male equivalent is often referred to as "beautillion ball". A lone débutante might have her own début, or she might share it with a sister or other close relative. Modern débutante balls are often charity events: the parents of the débutante donate a certain amount of money to the designated cause, and the invited guests pay for their tickets. "Gas, are you done with the potatoes?" Auntie Louise asked while stirring the gravy on the top of the stove.
"Almost."
"Come on the guests will arrive any hour now. We don't want any complaints you know!"
"Here! Anything else you need me to do?"
Men and women, cooks and waiters alike crowded the kitchen and preparation area.
Gaspar was helping in the kitchen so that they wouldn't have to run behind schedule. He was now just wearing his black slacks and white shirt while he hanged his uniform top at the passenger seat of his pick up.
"That's about it, why don't you freshen up so that you'd look nicer," His aunt chuckled while nudging him out off the kitchen.
"It will be the same kinds of girls anyway. Stuck up and spoiled daughters, what's new?"
Gaspar works part time as a waiter for Sophia Mariett's when his aunt needs an extra hand for her catering. And for the past 3 years he would see the same kind of girls in and out of the facility. He just couldn't imagine how this girls can just think about dresses and make-ups all the time.
"Well you still need to look good, who knows you might catch a nice lady this time."
His aunt's voice was slowly fading as he went out of the door and towards his truck. From afar he can see expensive cars arriving, any moment now the welcoming party will start.

Sonia took a last look at her reflection before grabbing her purse and heading out of her room. in the waiting area, her father and mother sat with her grandmother.
"Oh dearest, you look lovely! How time has passed and now you are all grown up!" Her grandmother stood up and hugged her.
"Thank you Grandma, will you be coming?" Hoping she would say yes, she held her hand and kissed it.
"Well, I'm sorry dearest but I do have to go to a conference. But I promise I'd be present on your Coming Out Ball."
"But..."
"Come on Sonia, we don't want to be late," her mother tapped her shoulder to remind her of the time.
"I'm really sorry dearest but I promise I will be there."
"Oh Grandma, I understand. Do take care alright? Let's go Papa," She called on to her father who was still sitting and reading the daily business paper.
"Oh your father won't be coming as well. It will just be you and me," Her mother said without looking at her eyes and was checking her phone while talking.
"What? But i thought..."
"Oh shush Sonia, you are not a little girl anymore." Her father complained still focused on the paper.
"Whatever..." She muttered and walked out of the house. She did not even wait for her mother or the chauffeur to open the car doors.
Soon they were on their way towards the town where Sophia Mariett's stood.

Iris sighed as the limo pulled up into the school. She really didn't want to be here, there would be no boys, no fun, no parties, no nothing! Iris's parents had sent her here just so they could feel like good parents while they went on yet another vacation. The driver opened the door for her and she stepped out. Iris started walking towards the school, pausing so she could tell the driver to bring the luggage in.

A tall pretty girl stepped out of a limo as a the chauffeur opened it's door. Her legs were very shapely and smooth from afar, Gaspar bet they would be smooth like silk up close BUT she's just like everyone else who comes in and out of Sophia's.
Gas wiped his face clean with his towel. He removed his shirt and wiped his toned and tanned body as well, he didn't care if anyone would see they'd probably like it anyway. He blasted some deo spray over his body and fixed his hair with wax, then he grabbed his new white shirt and place the long sleeved waiter uniform on top of it. And to finish his ensemble, the red bow tie everyone loves. He checked his reflection and popped some mints in his mouth.
"Looking good," Tray, his co-worker, exclaimed arriving with a some of the other workers in a van.
"Thanks. You ready?" Gas asked the guy as he slapped his back as a sign of welcome.
"Yeah, new girls this year huh? Bet they'd be smoking hot as ever. Ya think this batch will top the previous one?"
Gas shrugged and grinned as an answer and locked his truck and motioned Tray to go inside with him. Just then a bunch of bikes and large cars arrived followed by a shiny Lambourghini and few more SUV's caught everyone's attention.

"Darling, I can't stay too long okay? I need to attend another charity at the orphanage." Sonia's mom declared as they got nearer the place.
Her jaw dropped but she decided to remain silent. Sonia couldn't believe that her family is one by one disappearing in one of the important days of her life.
Not that she wanted to be in Sophia's but she knows she doesn't have any choice. She just had to live with it. It's just gonna be weekends anyway.
Which meant less time with her friends from school, but it didn't bother Sonia a bit since she kind of hates those people. She knows how fake everyone is.
"Madam we have arrived," Her mother's secretary, Tiffany, announced from the front passenger seat of the Lambou.
Tiffany then conversed with someone over a walkie talkie, the security that tagged with them perhaps.
A few men in suites positioned theirselves outside the car before opening the car's door for them.
Sonia hated the fact that she had to deal with everything like this, why can't she live a normal life? Oh coz she's not into a normal one.

Her parents may as well have been counting cash, Her mother was an her blackberry yelling at someone, while texting a client from her other blackberry, and her father was checking stopcks on his smart phone. Dustyn unplugged her Iphone from the adapter as she looked up at the school, it was large.
"Dustyn sweetie straighten your dress, you look as if you've been rolling around in mud!" Her mother said as she covered the phones receiver momentarily. Dustyn slid down in her seat and pulled at the A-line skirt of the silk red dress. She pulled out a pocket mirror and tended to her make up, which was fairly simple: Bright red lips, and black cat eye liner. Her hair was pinned up into 20's curls and she smilled, she loved her apearance. "Hoiw do I look mom?" She asked as she and her parents stepped from the limo, She saw another limo pull up and sighed, This is going to be hard, she thought to herself as her dad kissed her forhead and looped his arm between hers, and his other between his mothers.
The driver was behind them, sturggling with her luggae, maybe she was overpacked. "Young man, do. no. drop those, you must carry them!" Her mother snapped at the exhausted driver, quickly her father parted from them and went to assist with him, "Mom, why are you acting like this?" Dustyn let go of her mother and rolled her eyes.

Sonia entered with her mother and the bodyguards as well as Tiffany in tow. Her luggage were already shipped in earlier to prevent mishaps. A fine young lady ushered them into a conference hall as they sat around dainty and elegant tea tables. Her mom approached the other parents and exchanged stories and calling cards. But Sonia remained in her seat and sighed as she sipped her tea and looked outside the huge doors that lead to the garden area. All the girls looked pretty but she had enough of fakery.
A red-headed girl sat across her and smiled. She said hi to Sonia and started blabbing, "Oh my this is my first year here in Sophia's. I bet we get to this... that... blah blah blah..."
She was getting tired of the girl's story so she pretended that she was still listening but her mind was already wondering around and far far away.
"If you'll excuse me, I need to go to the powder room." Sonia did not wait for the girl to say yes and stood up and walked gracefully towards her destination.

Dustyn entered the Academy and immediatly headed for the powder room, she had to get away from her mother.
"Dear, Dear, Dustyn! Where do you think your going, You need to excuse yourself" Her mother shouted after her. Dustyn entered the room with her heels in her hand and stopped suddenly asd she saw the other girl. "I am so sorry, I didn't know anyone was in here."
She slipped her heels back on and fixed her dress, it was tight, but presentabl, knee length in fact. "Umm I'm dustyn by the way" She reached out her hand and did a half-witted curtsy.
"Dear, Dear, Dustyn! Where do you think your going, You need to excuse yourself" Her mother shouted after her. Dustyn entered the room with her heels in her hand and stopped suddenly asd she saw the other girl. "I am so sorry, I didn't know anyone was in here."

She figured she'd look stupid sitting around a room waiting for nothing.
"Oh it alright," She smiled at the new arrival.
"Umm I'm dustyn by the way"
"Sonia, I should head back so you can use the room. If you'll excuse me," she replied as she approached the door. She turned the knob and opened the door but stopped for a while and said, "Nice meeting you by the way. See you at the tea lounge."
With that she shut the door behind her and proceed back to where she was sitting earlier. Her mom was talking to a couple who seemed to be new arrivals. The woman looked awfully familiar, like she saw her already. Then the face of the girl in the powder room flashed in her mind.
It might be her mother.

This was the time for Dustyn to just sit there and shut up, with a smile of course.
She too walked out behind the girl and over to her mother and father.

Her mother decided to switch seats with her so she can seat next to Dustyn. She smiled at her parents and sat gracefully.
"Hi..." she whispered and smiled. Just then the headmistress approached the podium and spoke gently over the mic, "Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I am Elisea Mariett. Welcome to Sophia Mariett's where you have entrusted your young daughter to be trained for their coming outs."
She went on with her speech but it got Sonia bored again that she wanted to stand up and leave the room, but she can't.
Her mother decided to switch seats with her so she can seat next to Dustyn. She smiled at her parents and sat gracefully.

Sonia realized Dustyn was bored as well, so she pulled a piece of paper from her purse and scribbled something:
She passed it on to her and slowly crouched and walked out to the nearest exit. Her mom was to busy with the other parents to notice she was gone. Hopefully Dustyn followed her or it will be a one woman adventure.

Her eyes twinkled to think that boys are under the same roof as they are.
"It's my first time here and I'm an only daughter so... yeah figure that one out," She peaked over the bush that they were hiding from to see if the coast was already clear.

Truthfully, Dustyn had never done anything like this before, nor did she see it when her sister went through it,
but one was certain, she was sure there would be consequences from them missing the speech.

Iris was bored of the speech and decided to leave. She just walked out. "We're paying them!" she thought. She walked out and saw two girls crawling around the bush's. "Hey, what are you two doing?" She asked.

A voice startled the two sneaky girls.
"Looks like we are busted," Sonia whispered to Dustyn, she stood up and smoothened her dress.
"Errr... we were just looking for my ring. I dropped it her somewhere. It's really important for me and-" Sonia was about to make up more crazy stories and excuses when she saw that the girl looked just about their age.
"Oh hey. Hi, I'm Sonia and this is Dustyn. Are you one of the Debutantes as well?"
She offered her well manicured hands for a shake towards Iris and smiled.

The speech was forcing Nina to yawn from boredom, but she remained seated since her mother had taken the time to come with her and make sure she attended. Taking a well manicured hand she flipped her long curly onyx black hair behind her shoulder and gave an agitated sigh. All she wanted right now was to go to the room and get away from her mother. Crossing her legs she folded her arms across her chest and waited until their hostess was finished speaking.
Glancing about Nina looked over the group of girls that had shown up, each would have their own story as to why they are there, but she wasn't sure she'd hear about it. It was then that Nina noticed that someone or someones had disappeared. To keep suspicion from rising she remained seated and didn't look around. If those two succeeded in escaping she'd be amazed. Instead she raised her hand as if she were in school and asked, perhaps just to interrupt the speech.
"How much longer, I am sure the other girls like myself are tired and still have unpacking to do. So far we can all gather we are here for the same reason. To become a proper Lady. So, may we be excused?" she asked as politely as she could, the fake yet taunting grin spread over her face even as her mother nudged her ribs forcing her to grunt from the small blow. Glancing at her mother Nina gave her an expression that could only be defined as 'I asked nicely at least' and looked back at the Headmistress.

"Well okay you got us, but all the people there are too stuck up and stuffy." Sonia replied as she looked at Dustyn who shared a piece of her mind.

"Well it looks like we have a unanimous decision. I know there's a lake house here, want to check that out?" Sonia suggested to the girls she just met. Hopefully they'd get along just as fine.
