A meandering treasure-hunter.
Aodhan is a tall, lean young man of nineteen years. Locks of greasy auburn hair poke out from under his wide-brimmed hat. He has brown eyes and a plain, unmemorable face. He is clad in a brown coat and sturdy trousers, and on his back he carries a large pack of travel supplies. Various items of practical value hang from his leather belt, and he trudges through the mud in large leather boots.
Aodhan is a nice enough guy. He is willing to help people in need, but not so much that anyone would call him selfless. He is mostly a romantic, living in an idealized little world all his own: a world where he is a great hero, all unpleasant people are vile villains to cast down, and all young women are fair maidens to be rescued (but never enamored with, since his heart belongs to his True Love back home.)
Aodhan carries:
-Two day's worth of water.
-A bolt-action rifle and ammunition for it.
-A week's worth of rations (dried meat and potatoes.)
-A metal pot.
-A knife.
-A ladle.
-A box of matches.
-A blanket.
-Twenty-nine cash-bills.
Aodhan was born to the Firefall family, one of the wealthy landowning clans of Larsonia. He grew up reading old adventure stories and dreamt up wild fantasies for himself. A couple of years back, he fell in love with a neighboring maiden named Belinn.
He charmed Belinn although she had other suitors, and she planned to ask him to marry her as is the Larsonian custom. However a blight on the Firefall plantation and several bad investments by Aodhan's father resulted in the Firefall family losing its fortune, forcing them close to poverty. In the eyes of Larsonian culture, Aodhan was no longer a suitable groom for the wealthy Belinn.
Seduced by tales of great riches in Hail Angael's tomb, Aodhan set off for the Deep Marsh in hopes of rebuilding his family fortune and winning the hand of fair Belinn.
