Annalise entered the ballroom not quite knowing what to expect as she had never been to a masquerade ball before, all she knew was that her family had recieved an invite but her parents weren't the type of people who usually attended these kinds of gatherings so they had requested that their only daughter had gone in their stead.

Annalise was a young woman of about the age of 18 which was an age her parents deemed appropriate for going to functions, which they had been invited to, was acceptable. She stood at the top of the grand staircase gazing down upon the number of finely dressed men and women all wearing masks.

She brushed down the tightly done corset of her deep purple and red ball gown the mask fastened with a deep red silken ribbon, her black curls falling over her bare shoulders.
She placed a hand on the banister of the stairs knowing that she would have to go down there alone and wait to see if anyone approached her. She could feel her own heart pounding as she slowly descended the stairs. A few eyes watching her yet non-more intently than the pair of eyes that watched from the other end of the ballroom.
Little did she know that the eyes that lingered upon her most were those of the person who had invented this whole situation just ensure that she would attend.

(Ok so the man who is sat at the other end of the ball room is a vampire and hes been watching Annalise for a while so in order to get a chance to actually talk to her, he has organised a masquerade ball so that he may interact with her without her actually being able to recognise him).
