Alexander is a towering man amongst humans, standing almost two meters tall, he has broad shoulders that makes him look even bigger and with a combination of powerful biceps and triceps his size seems to be that of a bear. His legs are like tree trunks, powerful and large.
His torso has a bit of fat from the food and four, of his six, abs can be clearly seen. He has the majority of his scars on his torso, a few scars on his back. some scars aren't the usual skin colored and stands out more as they are either blue or (almost) purple.
Best Picture to get the physical size.
Personality
Alexander Luthor Russ is stoic. He doesn't talk a lot to people, and when he does it is very brief sentences that they get from him, and they are often without passion or meaning. He is strongly religious, however he is flexible with other people's believes, though he sees his own as being a more superior one.
Alexander has a personal hatred for monsters, as they don't look anything like what God would have created and thus he sees them as abominations that must be cleansed. The same philosophy goes for wizards, they are people who must have made a pact with the devil for only divine power should be allowed.
Alexander fights without hatred against humans with same faith, however when it is against pagans, infidels and cultists, he combines his personal hatred with cold hard logic. He may be silent, however he is still a good strategist, allowing him to pin out the weaker and stronger opponents.
Equipment
Usual Clothing/Armor:
Alexander wears a tabard of the Church and a pair of strong cloth pants, as the very first layer of clothing, followed by that he has a chain mail, and then he places a torso plate armor on that covers the front and the back of his torso and he has a neck guard as well, and then he has a pair of plate shoulder pads that protects his deltoid muscles. He wears strong leather booths that can hold out the worst of rain and mud, along with that he has shin guards and he wears gauntlets on his hands.
Alexander has a book that is roughly 300 pages, A4 sized, that is in a holy book. Its covern is of thick leather and it has a chain that is attached to it, which goes around Alexander so he can always access it. The pages themselves are blank, nothing is written on them, and though few understands why Alexander walks around with a book without anything written in it, he has (once, only once) said that God gives him the divine spells he needs when he faces his foes; meaning that Valdmir is either insane or very divine.
He also has a golden cross that he gained after having failed to save a Chanter, and it reminds him that there is corruption everywhere which needs to be rooted out.
(Once again, refer to the picture provided if confused)
Weapons:
Alexander is armed with an axe, a medium sized sword, a dagger (which he has strapped to his right shin) and a crossbow.
The book that Alexander always carries around with him allows him to perform divine magic, and only truly holy men can see and read what the angels wrote in it.
Magic and/or other abilities:
Alexander uses his holy book to get his divine abilities.
Alexander has a personal ability. When he looks into the eyes of a mortal, he can almost feel the sins that they have done (He cannot specify what they did, but he can feel how much evil they have done and if they tried to make amends).
History
Origins
No one knows where Alexander originates from. Parents, siblings, even his own home town is unknown. He just turned up at the doorstep of the Cathedral of Saint George in Marsseilles, wearing ragged clothes, and most of his body was covered in mud and dirt, the port before the holy crusaders would go the holy lands and fight against the infidels and pagans.
The monks, crusaders and knights that ran the cathedral took Alexander in; he was only fourteen at the time, but to the knights and monks he was at age to become a soldier for the church. He was taught the arts of war and combat, trained with people who were both at his age and older.
Alexander rarely spoke, and when he did it was simple and straight sentences that he said. Never anything complicated or long, and for most he would nod or shake his head for communication. Why, no one ever really understood, though some monks came to the belief that he had seen something terrible and has now silenced himself in order to go insane. The idea was agreed by everyone and left at that.
As Alexander became fifteen, he began to learn how ride a horse. Unlike the many other children and elderly soldiers who wanted to become the white knight, Alexander was more focused on making his skills better; he never showed off, never tried to make himself stand out, only when he was tested in combat would he prove himself to be one of the best swordsmen and riders.
The Test
When Alexander became sixteen he was now seen as a Crusader and was, along with all the other men, given weapons, armor and equipment and then put on ships that were to set for the Holy Lands.
The journey to the Holy Lands, though shorter than other routes, was still long and perilous. They were boarded by pirates twice, both of which the soldiers managed to fend off the ruthless mix of different races that had taken up the illegal work of piracy; They stood their grounds against a minor navy of infidels and pagan mercenaries that attacked them, during which they lost two ships and hundreds of good soldiers.
Finally when they sat food on the Holy Lands, they had to battle against the forces of nature as they had landed several kilometers up the coast they were suppose to, and the current was too strong for the remaining ships to sail against, so, making their way through the jungle that they had landed in, the last Crusaders used up large factions of their medicine, and others had to abandon almost entire armor sets in order to make it out alive.
Alexander barely spoke during these times, and he never left any of his equipment behind, and when they encountered hostile natives and animals, he never backed away. For Alexander there was only one way, and that was [i]forward[/].
As they made it through the jungle and towards the settlements that the Crusaders had made, two thirds of their original forces had died on the way, and despite having arrived at the Crusaders’ camps, they didn’t find comfort in the words of the priests,
”Only men with strong faith, strong will and skills will survive here.”Desertion seemed to be completely unheard of amongst the veteran Crusaders, and the few men who did desert, and were caught, spend months in prison, awaiting their true punishment. Alexander, however, never deserted and never participated in the debates of what was to be done with the deserters. He seemed more distant to the other soldiers.
Alexander came under the command of Baron Wunderguard, and they were to attack an infidel settlement; they never returned. Months passed without any knowledge of what had happened, and just as the Crusaders had received reinforcements that were to help them with the next siege against the infidels, Alexander and twenty other crusaders returned to the camp with the head of the infidels and a book with blank pages.
Alexander, and the other crusaders, were soaked in blood, their own and that of their enemies. Most of their original equipment was all lost, and for Alexander, the shield he had been given before leaving for the Holy Lands was lost and replaced with an axe. Alexander had, for all those months, led the attack against the infidels, as the Baron had been shot down during the journey to the settlement.
The battles had been terrible, without much knowledge of the area, Alexander and the army had been fighting a war that they should have lost, however they didn’t. The twenty surviving Crusaders all claimed that Alexander was a saint, if not an angel, for during the battles, his weapons had shone with holy light and the dark magic of the infidels had little effect against him.
These claims were dismissed by the priests and the Grand Master, and they countered the statements with “He’s fighting must truly be zealous, no need to overdo it.” Alexander was questioned for how he had led the soldiers against the pagans with such success, but he remained silent, giving barely any information, save for a few ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ questions.
When the priests looked at the book he had found and saw that the pages were empty, they asked if Alexander intended to write down the attack. ‘No.’. The priests were puzzled for how Alexander could be so attached to the book and yet be so zealous…Or appear to be so zealous.
A Test of Faith
A year passed. Alexander was still in the overly hot jungle, having little concern for his physical health, he would always be on the front lines. With new forces arriving, there was a new ‘Lord’ that had come, and would be the new leader over Alexander and the other men in his attachment.
This Lord had a strong interest in Alexander’s muteness and would constantly try to make him talk, and as the new Lord noticed Alexander’s attachment to his book, the book mysteriously disappeared.
Alexander moved on in his life, as if nothing had happened, however, he knew what had happened and managed to catch the Lord going through the blank pages. Without saying anything, he extended his hand and with a demanding look he got back the book that was stolen from him, and then he returned to amongst his men.
A few weeks after that event, Alexander, and a few other knights and Crusaders, were ordered to be allocated under Teutonic Grandmaster Hansie, in the Krein Kingdom. Alexander fought under Lord Hansie during the Teutonic Crusade for the next ten years, participated in ten raids during the winters every year and during the springs he was a part of the main army.
Due to the lack of real progress, the Crusade was abandoned, and the Crusaders were send to other places in the world. Alexander, and one hundred other Crusaders, were send to fight for Lord Hodachi, who had promised the Church to lead a Crusade to spread the religion. Alexander participated in the Massacre of the Wilder of Clan Rinnan, however due to his wounds he wasn’t able to participate in the final push that led to the destruction of the clan.
After the destruction of the Clan Rinnan, the Arch Bishop of the area asked for Alexander; Alexander had been serving the Church and its Crusading army for almost twelve years and never once accepted a promotion to anything higher than sergeant, and when the Bishop asked why Alexander answered, “I give hope to the men who will fights for God.” The Bishop found this rather inspiring and then gave him the title, “The Bane of Evil.” Followed by that, he was given a new quest, to escort a Chanter from one village to the other, a few weeks travel away.
The first week passed by peacefully, the second week they passed through areas where they were attacked almost daily by robbers and thieves. It was no challenge for Alexander who was used to fight in large scale battles. A day’s travel before they arrived at the town the Chanter was to be delivered, the caravan came under attack by a mixture of robbers, rouge wizards and monsters.
Alexander and the guards fought bravely to hold off the beasts, robbers and the spells of the wizards; Alexander broke through the lines and ran for the wizards, taking spell after spell, it slowed him down and gave him horrible scars on his chest, legs and arms, however it didn’t stop him. Once he reached them, they received no mercy, but the Chanter was killed by a Robber who had slipped past where Alexander was suppose to stand and killed the holy Chanter.
Alexander, and the remaining guards fought off the last attackers and then looked at the corpse that they were suppose to guard, since it would be too hard to travel with the corpse to the city, Alexander took the necklace that the Chanter wore around him and wore it as they moved on to the city. While they walked, Alexander overheard a conversation amongst the other guards, while Alexander usually held a distance to them and generally ignored them, he couldn’t help but to hear that they were happy that the Chanter was dead…It was planned!
Angered by the corruption of the men, Alexander turned around and looked into the eyes of the guards. He knew now that all this time that he had been avoiding contact with others; he could see what others couldn’t. The corruption and evil within people was now obvious to him. Alexander then killed them where they stood, and then continued the journey. He reported the death of the Chanter to the Church and then left without answering any more questions.
Every since, Alexander have walked through kingdoms, cleansing corruption, the wicked and everyone that he saw as being tainted by the seven sins of God. From the average common folk to knights even nobles have felt the blade of Alexander, and after the death of Paladin Lothan Thur, the Church declared Alexander Luthor Russ for excommunicated and placed a bounty on his head. So far, either through luck or skills, few have managed to hunt down the large warrior who always travels the world.
