The Date: December 1, 2011.

The Place: New York City, New York.

The Plot: The City of New York has always been a place of fluidity. The ebbs and flows of the City that Never Sleeps change day by day, never the same from one day to the next. There are breakwaters, however, which stay solid throughout the tides. Some benefit the people, such as the government, the fire department, and the NYPD. Others, however, lives only for themselves and uses the city for its own profit. I talk, of course, about the Mob.

The Mafia is broken up into five families; the Leone, the Sindacco, the Straccis, the DeBenedetto, and the Auditore. Each has its own power, and, for the most part, they are equal. The families even work together for common goals, and vow not to betray each other. If only things always went to plan.

Recently, there has been some dissent among the families. The Sindacco and the Straccis were at odds with the DeBenedetto and the Auditore. The Sindacco accused the DeBenedetto of encroaching on their territory. As tensions rose, the head of the Auditore family tried to calm the storm. He was one of the best respected of all the heads of house, and his arguments made sense. The tensions started to ebb until the unthinkable happened; the head of Auditore family was arrested for murder. Supposedly, he had killed members of another family. As he was taken into custody, a chaos erupted on the streets. The Straccis had started to gun down any members of the Auditore family they could find. The DeBenedetto and the Sindacco stood by their respective allies, and a full scale war emerged between the Families.

The police knew that they had to stop it. But they had also learned something else; the now had reason to believe Auditore had been framed. They had to keep him in custody, however, and they knew it. He was their best chance to stop this thing, but all the evidence pointed to him, and even if he were put back on the streets, he would probably be gunned down as he walked out of his cell. They couldn’t do anything. Until the heard something interesting from the head in jail; he had been on his way to pick up his daughter and her friends from a movie. Maybe they had heard something.

Unfortunately, there was a mole in the department. As a group of policemen went to go find the children, another group of mafia men from an unknown family went to do the same thing. It just so happened that these children were already together, and the two groups got there at the same time...

Okay, this is set up so we can jump right into the action. It will start from a gun battle to get the kids. The kids will probably try and get the hell out of there. You can play as anyone you want; a mafia man (not necessarily those trying to get the kids), a cop (or an FBI agent if you are fast [limit 3]), or one of the kids (I only want maybe 4 excluding the daughter). Hopefully we can get into it soon :D

Where did my rules go? Grr...

1. No Godmodding. I probably don't need to say this.
2. No Mary-sues. Again, I probably didn't need to say it.
3. Post only as much as you can. By that I mean write at least a paragraph, but don't feel too pressured to write too much more. I understand writer's block, trust me.
4. Aim for good grammar/spelling/syntax. I understand it every once in awhile, but if it becomes a chronic problem, it makes it very hard to read your posts.
5. Have fun! That is kinda the point of RPs, so make sure you do it.
