Description
Black hair makes a startling contrast to pale skin, growing to just aboive her waist and ending naturally there as evidenced by the uneven and split ends. Her eyes have that quality of darkness that makes them look pure black, but as she seldom looks up from the ground this would be rather difficult to see. At 5'2" she looks young enough still to have not quite finished growing, but then again it is always difficult for old people to tell that sort of thing.
Personality
Her demenor leads one to expect a shy and quiet girl, as her whole posture seems to indicate subserviance. However, she is nothing if not determined. A failure at multi-tasking, she has a sort of endearing single minded determination toward absolutely everything she does. You either have all of her attention or none of it, with seemingly no level in between.
Equipment
At the moment her posesions are rather slim, consisting mostly of her clothing, a well sharpened belt knife, and a smooth piece of rock tried up and around her neck with a piece of string.
History
Magically talented children make great power sources and all the life she remembers is being used and drained. She counts herself lucky she wasn't killed since they make great sacrifices too. As her posessor was hiding in the shadows of the great mages, he wasn't immune to power struggles, and one of his rivials got quite lucky. Finding herself with an unknown destiny, Keaka decided that since she wasn't entirely certain if she was still young enough to make a good sacrifice or not, she would rather not be captured as one of the dead man's posessions. In the chaos she managed to obtain the lofty posistion of completely homeless and peniless. Clearly, what she needed was a Master who would not sacrifice her, and who could be fooled into thinking she was a worthy appretince.

Keaka was really hungry and quite tired of having to hide. Not that she normally drew a lot of attention to herself, because who wanted to be a battery, but still. She yawned and sunk back a little further into her hiding place, eyes seeming like black pits in her face as she peered out of the opening between the crates. All she needed was to see someone who was obviously a mage and obviously not starving to death. At first she'd been hiding in the market, but then she realized the only people there were slaves. So now she'd found the specialty alchemy stores on the theory that eventually there'd be something a mage just couldn't trust his slaves to pick up.

The yelling made it sound like something interesting was finally happening, so Keaka stopped being annoyed with the universe in general and leaned forward a little more. Naturally she was not coming out while there were fireballs about to be flying! The man who appeared in her line of sight did not really look like he fit her criteria of not being starving to death. He looked awfully skinny, like he shrunk in his clothes. Then again he was doing something weird and was quite interesting, so she was happy to see what he did. Besides cutting himself, that was clearly a prelude to something from his stance.

Black eyes slid sideways and for a moment the girl looked rather like she was trying to decide if she should cover her ears or not. Just in case. It was kind of neat though, the man sounded awfully mad. When the blood form itself into something like a weapon her eyes widened and she mumbled, "Oh neat." Woosh there went the blood for the guards. Keaka leaned forward to see better, really curious what would happen next. More out of the corner of her eye she saw the man take off a bunch of cloaks and decided maybe he was just cold, and not scraggy after all. She was kind of cold.

Good point. She was brain dead to be watching. To much sitting out and waiting had obviously damaged her brain. She slid down the wall, hurrying as she moved along behind what cover she could get. Then she peaked out, waiting until she was sure the flying cloaks blocked her from sight before she darted to the closest cross street, where she immediately slowed to a business-like walk. No one was looking for her after all. Hopefully. Just a slave, out on an errand. Now... where did that mage go? She glanced casually around for a running figure or anymore disturbance and moved purposefully after him. Though far enough she wasn't going to be in the way of any seers. Hopefully.

Keaka stopped walking and stared upwards. Damn this monkey mage, how was she supposed to look like she was doing something else if he was going to climb buildings? She wanted to see! Then again she didn't want to be in the way of those spikes... she looked around and hopped quickly behind a couple of handily freaked out slaves. Everyone was kind of staring now that he was on the roof so she thought things should be safe enough. Besides if she didn't follow him, he'd get away and this was the first mage she'd found in days. Besides, he'd probably need help, how much blood did one person have? He;d be getting all dizzy or something soon right?

Dying was not what she wanted her new mage to do. Frowning disapprovingly, she quickly checked to make sure that the spikes had taken care of the guards who might have seen the jump/fall. Confident she would not be spotted by any figure of something approaching authority for the moment she dashed from behind her slave shield, skidding to a stop beside the collapsed pile of robes and reached down for a shoulder, "Come on before the rest of them catch up." She bounced with impatience, clearly expecting if he was dead he'd get up and run now just out of habit with her encouragement.

A squeak escaped when her her wrist was captured by annoyingly strong fingers. After a bit of attempted twisting she gave it up as uselessly painful. His words made her eyes widen and she mumbled, "You better not." Why he'd better not she didn't explain, beyond her rather obvious preference to not be dead. Especially in such an icky way. On the other hand the threat of death would probably keep them from doing anything... right? Maybe she should have just waited for another mage...

The girl allowed herself to be dragged over to the grating, though she didn't think that a sewer was a very auspicious begining to things. After a moment she supposed she was supposed to be the one prying up the grating since he let go of her hand. He could have saved the threat though. She bent slowly to curl her fingers into the grate and mumbled as if to herself, "I like bathing in water, and I'd better get to if we're going down here."

Keaka was indeed staring doubtfully down into the dark hole of the open grate, her expression indicating that she was not at all impressed with this escape plan. Were seers going to be afraid of the smell? She looked up at the curiously watching crowd of mostly slaves and then down again before she got her bottom kicked. Her arms did a classic pinwheel as she tetered on the edge and then there was a splash as his hostage vanished. Having forgotten someone was coming down after her, she was standing there saying, "Ew, ew, ew." Couldn't they have climbed down to the ledge? Naturally the mage's mighty leap ended up with her getting splashed more and she squeaked unhappily, realizing it was probably lucky he didn't land on her and squish her....
