Introduction

"Sir, we've found something!" a cry came from the bottom of a massive hole.

For the past few weeks, researchers and excavators had been searching the ruins of what was thought to be the place of the final battle between the first Guardians and the Ancient One. Until recently, an extremely powerful barrier had surrounded the ruins preventing any from entering. At first chance, people from all over the world hurried to the ruins in attempt to find anything, whether it be artifacts or answers to the vague legend.

Among these people, was the famed Archsage Gallen Trivell. He had dedicated his life to researching magic and the legend. He and his team were among the first to arrive at the ruins when the barrier had faded. Hearing one of his top excavatorz call out to him, he rushed to the hole and peered down into it. At the bottom, with several of men and women beside it, was a small black pyramid. Despite his age of ninety-seven, he swiftly jumped down into the hole cushioning his fall with magic.

The Archsage slowly approached the pyramid. It was very small, only being about three feet tall with a four-by-four base. He walked around it carefully examining the structure, both physically and magically. It was made of a glossy, black metal that was completely smooth all around. Inside of it, a great power could be sensed. He had seen similar things in the past, but this small structure intrigued him immensely. He felt his magic drawn to it and slowly moved his hand to it.

Several of the people around him made a start. This was an unknown magical artifact and yet Gallen was about to touch it. Some moved forward to stop him, but they were too late. The Archsage's hand touched the pyramid, and the black metal began to crack immediately. They watched in horror as the structure shattered and were amazed when they saw a small black crystal floating where the center of the pyramid once was. All of them were drawn to the power it was radiating and moved closer to it.

The crystal suddenly began shining with the light increasing at an alarming rate. Within seconds, the light was blinding and everyone in the hole began screaming and yelling. Amongst the screams and yells, a dark laugh could be heard.

Full Description: Legends state that when the ancient force that was sealed long ago returns, six will be chosen to assume the roles of the Guardians of Crisaya. With the help of others, they will do what was believed to be impossible. Together, they will accomplish what the first guardians failed to do. Together, they will bring about the end of the Ancient One.

Plot: The year is 847, and it has been eight hundred years since the defeat of the Ancient One. The people of Crisaya have lived in peace for the past centuries with only a few minor wars. This peace, however, is coming to an end. Upon the discovery of the black pyramid, no one has heard from those at the ruins. Some have ventured out to investigate the matter, but none have returned. Lately, natural disasters have been occurring regularly. Creatures that were once myth are now running amok attacking villages. With all of the chaos, bandits have seized this opportunity to raid villages. What was once a land of peace is know one of chaos.

Some have not lost hope though. They believe these events are signs of the Ancient One's return. Believing the legend, all they can do it hope that the six will bring an end to all of this. Others, however, have completely lost hope. There has not been a single guardian since the originals, and some believe no one is coming to save them. As if things were bad enough already, a being known as "The Destroyer" has appeared and is contributing to the destruction and chaos. Entire cities have fallen to this being, and none can match his strength. Some believe he is the Ancient One. Others believe he is merely an extremely powerful person with only destruction in his mind.

Crisaya is in chaos. All people can do is hope.

Empires/Nations/Kingdoms:

The Desitran Empire: More commonly known as the Empire, it is famed for its military might. With more a fourth of Crisaya under its rule, the Empire is the center of commerce and trade. The majority of Desitrans are human. The Empire has a monarchy.

The Elvin Nation: Controlling most of the world's forests, the elves of Crisaya are well-known for their strategic mind and magic users. Most do not leave the forests, but there are many that do. The forests under Elvin rule each have a council composed of five members.

The Goblin Nation: Significantly smaller than the Elvin Nation, the Goblin Nation controls most of the world's mountains. Their weapons and armor are unmatched. Very few leave the mountains, and when they do, it is often to trade. The goblins have one leader that is chosen by the people, but he or she usually has some connection to a former leader.

The Hyran Kingdom: Being the world's largest multi-racial group, the Hyran Kingdom's size is second only to the Empire. They are best known for their artisans and musicians as well as scholars. They too have a monarchy.

Note: These are only the main empires/nations/kingdoms of Crisaya. There are plenty of villages/towns/cities that are not under the rule of these four or are independent.

Regions:

The Gresha Plains: A vast plain that takes up a fair amount of Crisaya's land. The land is very fertile, so much of the land is owned by farmers or independent towns/cities. The Empire controls a large amount of the plains as well as the Hyran Kingdom.

The Sacred Forest: While it is not the largest forest in Crisaya, it is considered to be a paradise by the elves. Its population is second only to the largest forest in the world. Trees in this forest are never cut down so little production occurs in the Sacred Forest.

The Mein Forest: Being Crisaya's largest forest, its population of elves is above all other places. Some humans have been known to live with the elves in the Mein Forest. The trees of this forest grow very quickly, and so the elves of the Mein Forest create many wooden objects.

The Robare Mountains: Crisaya's largest mountain is an active volcano that erupts at least once a month. In order to prevent any damage to the surrounding land, the first Guardian of Fire cast a barrier over the top that is still holding to this day. The resources on these mountains are so abundant that the majority of the goblins live here.

Note: Once again, these are only some of the main regions of Crisaya. As the story progresses, I will add more.

Magic: Obviously, there is magic here. The ability to use magic is very common, though very few ever reach the level of that on an Archsage. Magic comes in many different forms, whether it be offensive or defensive magic, wards, enchantments, healing, illusions, etc.

Note: I put very few examples, so if you want your character to use a different form of magic than those given above, just let me know, and I'll probably allow it. The main exception is if its too powerful or advanced for the point of the story.

Races: Most fantasy races should be fine. Just to be sure, ask first, and I'll most likely allow it.

Currency:

50 US Dollars = 1 Fal
1 Fal = 50 Nel
1 Nel = 100 Rel = 1 US Dollar
1 Rel = 1 Penny

Note: This is just a simple currency system. The worth of the money is neither modern nor medieval. This is simply to establish some sort of baseline for the currency.

Rules: - These should be self-explanatory

1. Follow the general rules.
2. Be literate.
3. No Godmodding.
4. Try to stay as active as possible. If something comes up, tell me. I'll understand.
5. Romance is allowed.
6. Multiple characters are allowed. [Current limit - 2]
7. No killing someone's character without that person's permission
8. Refrain from talking out of character in the IC. Every once in awhile is fine.
9. Be sure to check the OOC periodically as that is where I may point out some things about some posts or announce some updates.
10. If you have any questions, ask in the OOC or PM me.

Character Sheet: - Just make sure you have these things somewhere when you submit your character.

Name:
Age:
Race:
Role: (Guardian, general, noble, assassin, etc.)
Abilities: (Try to limit them for now unless your character has a reason to start off strong. Abilities doesn't necessarily mean magic. )
Appearance:
Equipment:
History:

Significant NPCs:

Councilman Arareas of the Mein Woods: The leader of the council of the Mein Forest. Very wise and puts the safety of the Mein Forest first.

Lord Darozk of the Goblin Nation: The current leader of the Goblin Nation. A great warrior who has brought the Nation very far.

King Gale of Hyra: Hyra's seventeen year old king. Very wise for his age but lacks experience.

"The Destroyer": Very little is known about this man, other than he appeared shortly after the discovery of the black pyramid. Ruthless and extremely powerful.

Note: These are only a few to begin with. I'll add more as the story progresses.

Alright, I think that's everything for now (Why do I get the feeling I'm forgetting something?). Feel free to submit your characters when you're ready. I'll have my character up later. Should you choose to be a guardian, you won't be very powerful in the beginning, but you'll be stronger than the average person. If you're not a guardian and are something else, like say a general, then you'll be much stronger in the beginning (depending on what you are), but by the end, you'll most likely be weaker than the guardians.

I'll likely be moving things from the introductions into the appropriate sections. Nothing is set in stone at this moment. I may add, remove, or change things to better suit your characters given that the change isn't too drastic.

NOTE: Until further notice, ignore the option of choosing where your post takes place. For now, just choose Crisaya, the default option.

Rain poured down upon the Empire's capital as thunder crashed and lightning flashed across the sky. Though it was only early in the night, the sky was almost pitch-black. Magical lamps emitted a soft glow of light that illuminated the streets for anyone crazy enough to outside during the storm. Shouting could be heard from a building with lights shining out its windows. Next to the door was a sign that read, Gador's Pub.

A figure dressed in a black cloak with the hood over its head approached the door. With the darkness and the raging storm, it was near impossible to make out any physical characteristics. As the person neared the pub, the door flung open and a scrawny man was thrown out onto the streets. "And stay out!" the bartender roared. As the cloaked person walked in, the bartender said quietly, "Table in the far right corner, Rael."

Gador, the bartender and owner of the place, often acted as a messenger between the group of assassins Rael was a part of and their employers. Rael simply continued walking as if he never heard Gador. To reduce suspicion, the assassin stopped at the bartender's table and ordered a drink. Understanding the purpose of this act but hating the drinks Gador served, Rael slowly nursed his drink for a few minutes before heading towards the table the bartender had indicated.

Rael sat down opposite of a man dressed similarly as himself. Both had their hoods over their heads. "Veil," the assassin spoke.

The man replied, "Eternity." They nodded having confirmed that they were the employer and employed.

"The target?" Rael asked softly.

The man slid a folded piece of parchment and answered equally as quiet, "Duke Tynvore of Sarress. The picture as well as the payment are that." He nodded at the parchment. Rael unfolded it and took a glimpse of the man before looking at the payment. 200 Fal. It was acceptable, though a little low since the target was a duke.

"The deadline?" the assassin asked.

"By the end of the week," the man answered. He handed Rael a bag of half of the payment under the table. The employed quickly took a peek to verify the payment and saw the gold coins before stowing the bag under his cloak. He nodded and stood up at the same time as the employer. Rael exited the pub and quickly headed down one of the nearby alleys. After taking a detour, he found himself outside one of the city's stables and stole a horse. He quickly rode out of the capital and headed towards the city of Sarress.

By the end of the week? Rael thought. It'll be done by the end of tomorrow.

Gideon picked dirt from under his nails. How is it that hands can get so dirty while wearing gloves? He thought to himself. Gideon picked up the sword, still red hot from the furnace, and placed it onto the anvil. He grabbed a nearby hammer and beat the metal, turning the sword over after every beat.

3 hours passed and the moon appeared in a gap between the clouds. Gideon stared at it and wiped his brow. "And that's my que to stop." He tore off his gloves and sat in a chair by a table. "Why do lords require such intricate designs on their blades? They'll get damaged in battle regardless of how beautiful it looks."
"That is because they are lords. would you argue with one of them?" A man asked sitting across the table. "No, thank you." replied Gideon, getting up from his chair. He poured a mug of water, drank it and placed it back on the table. "I suppose you'll continue working on your spear tonight." He asked the other man.
"Of course. I love my job." Gideon smiled. "Well, I will be back tomorrow afternoon to work on the engravings. Make sure my blade is taken out of the water." With that Gideon walked off as the man saluted and resumed drinking.

Home was a short walk away. I shall rest for a good amount of time. Gideon thought. Something I've been craving all week. He walked under the streetlamps, staring at the candle flickering within each one. He liked the way the light danced, and how it was able to play ticks on the eyes when coupled with a slight breeze. He loved to see them within his home. Even if it was a small room in a run down inn within Hyra.

Walking along the moonlit dirt path half tired, Rosemary sought out to look for shelter before morning rose. It had been a long day for her seeings that she practiced hard mastering the sword further. Nothing could stop her quest to defeat the "Ancient one". She was very determined to have it under her foot smashed to smithereens. But of course that was just a dream for sleepily Rosemary, for she had no strength against it even if it took an whole army just like her father failed to do.

Rosemary began to feel heavy as her body started to give in to torpidity, "Not to far, just a little longer", she willed herself to go on. Then an the misty distance, an old barn, half torn down, stood waiting for her to vacate it. She half smiled sluggishly knowing she found shelter finally, "I never would have thought of a place", she whispered surprisingly as she walked a little faster. The moon started to rise even higher as its dull rays shone on Rosemary's armor making it gleam dimly in it's own glory. Things for Rosemary was about to open up making things more challenging even though she was prepared.

It had been raining on and off for about 2 hours. Fendril and Liesel where in view of the empire. Fendril looks over to Liesel and states, "Now being a dollmaster is forbidden here, and I'll be taken to jail if they found out so nothing stupid, please Liesel." Liesel gives a I know already look and replied," I know the rules, so don't worry." They were fast appoaching the gate to enter the empire.
The gate guards of the empire are always on alert during the night. For unless they are paid off, they are weary of all travelers from the sterotypical saying All evil poeple move during the cover of night. The guards noticed a pair of travelers coming their way. "Hmmm watch youself this two look like trouble," one guard says. The other replied,"Lets see who they are first."
The pair appoached the guards. The gaurds respond by puting up a hand and yelling,"HALT." Fendril and Liesel stopped and looked at each other. The guard who yelled halt walked up to the pair and asked," whats your business here in the empire, and why are you arriveing at such a hour?" Fendril stepped forword and replied," I'm here looking for information. About the hour, we just traveled a long way, and we just happened to arrive at this hour." Guard sized them up, and apon seeing their choices of weapons and decided that a fight with them, might end with him dead. "Fine, you may pass, but you may want to find a inn for you never know who stalks the streets at night." "Don't worry about me," Fendril replies, and motion Liesel thats its fine to enter.

"So this is the empire, rather grand for my taste," Liesel Hansel said in a monotone voice."I know its nothing like the goblin towns, but we will be here for a while gathering infomation," Fendril said with a smile. He patted Liesel on the head knowing she hated that, and contined down a alley to the inn that was labeled on a sign. He saw the inn, noticing that was a small and run down, but had a warm look to it. Arriving at the inn, he opened the door for Liesel and continued in seeking the receptionist."Room with 2 beds please," he said to the girl that was the receptionist."Ok, I'll put you next to our normal here, keep it down, for he works long nights," she said as she scribbled their names down on the ledger she was holding. They headed up to the room and entered it, and proceeded to crash on the beds without removing their armor, they where dead tired afterall. They place their weapons at the sides of their beds.

Five well armed man stand in the center of a dojo, located beside a large mansion. They move in a circle, no sound reverberating even on the hard wood floors. They stop and in unison looked at the door to the dojo, expecting someone to come through it any moment. A few more minutes pass before the door slides open and a handsome man with partially tied back long black hair and purple eyes appears before them. Unlike their customary robes and bare feet when in the dojo, this man is dressed in a unique long split tail coat with purple flower engravings running along the inner edges. He stepped on to the hard wood floor wearing near knee high brown leather boots, a disgraceful act in any place like this. However, the men show no feeling of disrespect as they allow the man to walk to the center, circling him and drawing their swords slowly. The man in the tail coat calmly faced forward, with a slight smile on his face as he grabbed the hilt of his sword and removed it from the sheath revealing a long purple blade. The fire from the torch in the opposite corner gleamed off the sword as the men in the dojo readied themselves to attack.

The man started to hum as one of the men came from behind him. Faster then the others could see, the tail coat man was behind their comrade, disabling him with a hit to the skull from the blunt of the sword. Somewhat taken back, the dojo men regained their composure and formed a new strategy while the tail coat man paced back and forth in front of them, his sword resting on his shoulder. This time two men came at him, attacking him from both side so he couldn't escape. As their blades came around to slice the man in half, he jumped forward and used the head of one of them as leverage to push himself up and flip over and behind the other two who were watching. He jumped and turned his body, kneeing one in the back of the head and pushing himself back once contact was made to kick the other with the same leg. He landed perfectly on the ground as the two dojo men fell over, leaving the two who thought they had him a few seconds ago. The men looked at the bodies of their comrades who now laid unconscious on the floor. In both fear and anger they charge at him, leaving themselves with many holes in their defense. He quickly disposed of them like the others, all the while humming that same tune. He picked up the black with purple engravings sheath and slid the sword back into it.

When he exited the dojo, his father was standing there to great him. "Well done, my son." His father's gray eyes showed their approval as he held out his hand to congratulate his son. "You have earned the right to be the next head of the Ryuugamine family and the right to carry on Sora Tobu Shiratori, Eryx." Eryx smiled and shook his fathers hand. Sora Tobu Shiratori, the art of the Flying Swan. The ancient sword fighting technique past down from one Ryuugamine head to the next and once his father passes, the style will belong completely to him. As is tradition he will have to use the style to protect the town of Hokkai and the people in it, but is this really what Eryx wants for himself?

Bright lights could be seen in the sky, from a giant tent set up. Screaming people and large animals could be heard.

"Alright folks, I'll tell you what I'm gonna do next," said a man dressed in odd clothes with bizarre colors and mixtures all over them. When he spoke the whole room shook, he waited for things to calm down.

"I'm going to bring in your favorite Jester in all of Hyran!" everyone was screaming at the top of their lungs now, "the most amazing kid you could ever know, Lan!"

Lan ran out waving and smiling, his earring shone in the lights. He ran to the center of the tent, basking in the lights and the huge crowd. When things got quiet, he took the mic from the conductor.

"Okay, for my first act... I will need a volunteer," all the hands shot up, with everyone screaming, "Pick me!"

"Hmm, I guess... I will need five! volunteers."

He went up into the crowd, and randomly picked people. When five were picked he placed them a foot a part from each other.

"Now for this to work, you will need to stand absolutely still and don't freak out. I'm a professional," memories from that night shot into his head, Focus Lan, focus.

Lan closed his eyes and brought his fire out, then he carefully formed the fire around the first person, making it look like a human but was on fire. When he did that to all the volunteers, he pulled the fire off them, keeping the form of them with the fire. When he opened his eyes, five human flames were standing in front of him.

"Alright try to find which flame is your copy."

Each person went up, and found their flame copy, amazed at the accurateness of the flames. In the background everyone was cheering from an amazing trick.

"Alright, you can go sit down now but first... I have some for you all," he reached into his pocket and pulled out tickets, "You all get tickets to all my show for the next ten years!"

The volunteers were freaking out and went back to their seats, that was Lan's part since it took a lot of energy for that stunt.

"See ya folks, that all for me!" he waved at them and ran out, everyone was waving and cheering for him, "that was a good show, at least mine was."

Sharwyn stood authoritively in a near empty street in Hyra, accompanied by 3 armed gaurds who fidgeted nervously and constantly shifted weight from foot to foot. A scowl was painted grimly across her face, and with good reason; being woken in the middle of the night, only to have to go to the poor side of the city, was not something that she appreciated. Her eyes scanned the surroundings, all ramshackle inns and stores, empty market stalls and abandoned homes. The occasional dark figure slipped in and out of the many doorways, going to and from work, likely a majority of it illegal at such a late hour. A small breeze had began to get up and her wool cloak fluttered slightly, the dimly lit street light playing showily on the Val'ran insigna woven into the cloaks fabric.

As her mind began to wander she was immediately brought back to reality as a wagon came stuttering and stammering around the corner, from the direction of the trade gate. The old wooden wheels and the hooves of the horses clapping loudly against the cobbled stone path. The rider pulled the reins and the horses arched slightly and came to a halt. Accompanied by the rider were four peasants, likely farmers, huddling together in the back of the wagon. Two horsemen followed suit shortly after, dismounting almost immediately after noting that Sharwyn was already waiting.

One was a gaurd, a Sergeant by his apparel. The other was the captain of the militia of a small farming community that traded frequently in Hyran, specifically through the Val'ran house. Both men knelt before her and bowed their heads, speaking in unison, "Lady Val'ran".

They both stood straight after following etiquette and the Sergeant spoke first, "Apologies for sending the messenger to wake you so late in the night, my Lady, but we felt this matter was important to your house".

Sharwyn nodded impatiently and motioned for the other man to speak. The militia captain was wracked by nerves, his speech hesitant and broken, "The village was attacked... by bandits mainly, but...".

The Sergeant and the militia captain both exchanged nervous glances, evidently afraid to continue, but Sharwyns patience wore ever thinner and she berated them in kind, "Two grown men looking to each other for comfort, you are not paid to coddle your fears with adoring glances, now spit it out. My family have invested greatly in the farming communitys AND the militia, if that money has been wasted I shall see it taken out of both of you," she looked them up and down sourly, as if assessing their worth, "one way or another."

The militia captains eyes were filled with despair upon hearing these words, his weather beaten skin flushing white and his voice growing ever shakier, "The bandits... There was nothing we could do, even after being struck down with steel, they would rise again... We outnumbered them to begin with and managed to dispatch three or four, but...", his face contorted with whatever filled his thoughts and tears began to well in his eyes, "but there was nothing we could do, they cut through our superior numbers with ease... I'd rather die before I went back."

Sharwyn cocked her head slightly, almost bemused by the story, "You were bested by BANDITS?" She laughed scornfully, the tone in her voice becoming slightly more severe. "So to hide your own failings, you devise the lie that they were 'magical' bandits. This is a joke. A bad one, at that. There are other farmers who will resume the work and your ineptitude to defend the land will be reported correspondingly. You shall not receive the pay you are due, be glad your cowardice saved your lives. Get them off the street Sergeant, this is causing far too much attention as it is."

Upon hearing this, a few of the survivors in the back of the wagon began to break into loud, uncontrollable sobbing. One of the women in the back of the wagon sprung to her feet and hopped out of the wagon, surprisingly sprightly for her old age. She made a dash for Sharwyn, rage in her eyes, but was quickly grabbed by one of the gaurds. "Simple bandits drag children kicking and screaming into the night?! Do you think your gaurds and stone walls will protect you from the Ancient One?!" The gaurd dragged her off with difficulty, her loud protests filling the streets, "The end will come, everything is in chaos!"

Sharwyn was slightly taken aback, the womans rantings had struck a nerve. What she said was indeed correct, turmoil and strife had filled the smaller provinces, even cities had fallen and there was much debate amongst the Sages and scholars on what was going on. She began debating in her mind whether the story could hold any weight, her family was out of city for an extended period of time, if she wished it she could see the village for herself. Two decisions presented themselves to her, head straight to the village or investigate the archives at the Great Library for clues. Her hand subconsciously found its way to her face and a finger ran back and forth along her bottom lip with consideration, her mind deep in thought. If she did decide to go, she would need mercenaries for that kind of work, gaurdsmen, knights and squires are far too precious a resource to waste.

Takeshi walked besides his sister, his white hair was grubby from their month long walk to the city, ears and tail suffering similarly. His clothes were made of thick cotton and heavy canvas, sagging in an unattractive manor around his slender frame. His strides were long, setting at the pace for the two of them. He was very angry today; he had watched one to many of the guards flirt with his sister. He glanced back at her, keeping up with his easily, a dreamy smile touching her face almost to wistful to hold such a look. She was of course dressed in clean clothes, she had spent yet more of her money to look quite so good. Her dress was a long beautiful thing they had bartered of some of the gypsy woman; they had fallen in with them for part of their journey. It fell over her lender form in aqua blues and marigold orange, making her skin look pale yet healthy. He shook his head to himself, disappointed at how easily defused he was to her. Looking ahead he could see the shinning gates of the city, bright in the darkness; illuminating the land before them. He hoped that these would fall for the rich daughter and guard look they had been pulling off for most of the trip. Once inside they would go to their house, he could not look forward to anything more than being clean in this dirt.

Yuzuki smiled to herself, her eyes kept to the floor as her ears twitched above her head. She was listening intently to the guards before them, chatting about nothing much, not having seen the pair yet. She giggled to herself, skipping to hook her arm in her brothers. When he glanced at her again his ears twitched in question; though she could guess what he didn’t say. She shook her head, reaching up to untie her hair from its icy blue scarf. She thought it most likely these people would not trouble them, but it was not a problem for her to unbind her hair and look even more harmless. She made her steps more dainty, despite the fact she no longer wore shoes and it was painful to tread so harshly upon the floor. Yuzu began touching Takeshi’s hair, making it look smoother, regardless of the fact that he was supposed to look rough; she didn’t like it.

“So when are we going to pick up the next job little brother?” She asked, touching her tail to his, not turning to look at him as they came closer to the guard and gate. They had stopped talking now, and were watching the slow approach, most likely thinking them strange since it had already fallen dark. She scrunched her toes in the dusty roar, wanting to be home, but not to see such strangers take offence to them. She lifted her head sniffing the air for any smells that might help her, but found none. They had only just been called back to the city, it had been a long time, but from the sounds of it they could not be done without. Well, maybe not they, but he and since her brother would not be from her side, she too was dragged back to the city. She hoped the others wouldn’t be nearly so serious, though some wouldn’t have even been chosen yet she supposed. She readied herself for the guards, letting her smile drop so she looked timid and nervous.

“You know I don’t know that Yuzu, now be sweet for the ugly guards.” He too smiled as the man before them motioned them to stop. “Good evening.” He said bowing low, though his sister made no move. The man ran his greedily little eyes over them, evidently looking at his sister more than him. In truth he wanted neither of them to be the focus of such a person, but if he had to choose who, it would not be his sister he wanted anyone to watch. Still he bit his tongue, knowing better than to cause trouble so close to home. His eyes flicked to his sister, glad to see she wasn’t even looking up from her hands, the picture of a demure woman. He smiled to himself, knowing she was anything but; she was a devil to watch over most of the time; her attention span to short to cope. Brushing his hands over his mucky clothes he looked up at the guard again, pretty sure he could deal with the man, even with his lack of a sword.

“Ok get along, you should know better than to travel after dark with such a dainty Lady. You be safe miss.” The rough man bowed, his eyes flickering slightly as they both bowed in return, though he said nothing of the oddness of a lady bowing. They moved past the gate, moving through the chaotic city with little thought, it was after all home to them. Soon they were past the cobbled streets and could see the rich house they had been left by the lovely people they had help to save before. They both smiled up at the old place, touching on the door, the maids would be happy to have them back, finding them kinder than the servant they left in charge. Yuzu smiled at him and he knew she was leaving, going off to see the old haunts. He grinned at her, knowing this time they would have to go there own ways, he really needed to clean up.

“I’l meet you later at the old barn, try not to be to late. We have been traveling to long to miss this rest.” She listened to him her heart light, his kiss on her cheek was warm and friendly. She touched his hair, tucking it away from his face and nodded in accent. She skipped off, uncaring of her bare feet, she had no need of shoes despite the glass that came from bar room brawls about the city… She had hard feet, taken from her other form, unless she pushed unduly it would not penetrate her flesh. She looked up at the sounds of screams and the smell of fire, was that a show? She giggled to herself, letting herself into the tent that ran along the edge of the city, glad she lived close to the edge. The people had sat down and she headed to the man handing out beverages, placing coin in his hand. She sat quietly with the rest of them, waiting for the next entertainer.

As he rode of out the capital on the horse he had stolen, Rael passed two travelers, a man and a woman. Both were well-armed. They must have had some urgent business, for not many would be foolish to travel in this weather, especially not on foot. Other than the slight glance, he paid no attention to them. Their business was of no concern to him, and he would likely be out of Desitran land by tomorrow night. As he rode through the storm, he began to process his thoughts on the approach he would take. He had visited Sarress with his parents often when he was young. Between his visits and business, he knew the layout of the city fairly well.

When the matter of his parents came into his mind, he shook the thought of. That was his past, the past he had forsaken when he became an assassin. In the past eight years, he felt no regret in the path he chose, but he often felt disgusted by his actions. Thankfully, over the years he had built a reputation of not killing women and children. He knew, however someone put it, he was a murderer but knowing he wouldn't kill women or children granted some comfort.

For the next couple of hours, he continued to ride onward, no longer thinking. He had had many of these thoughtless rides through the night, so this was not uncommon. He often cleared his mind of thought before carrying out an assassination so that he could completely focus on his job. By the time he neared the city, he was soaking wet, cold, numb, and in some places, sore from the constant pelting of the rain. As he reached the gates, a guard stopped him.

As Rael got off his horse, the guard spoke, "What are you doing out at this time, especially during this storm?"

He was already irritated. He had just rode threw a storm for the past couple of hours, and here was a guard asking such an idiotic question. Calmly he answered, "I have urgent business here in Sarress. I was required to leave at an unfortunate hour, hence the time and storm."

The guard nodded slowly and spoke, "I will need you to relinquish any weapons you may have on you." The assassin had expected this and moved two short swords to his boots before he came into sight of the city. It was very uncomfortable, and they were sticking out but were covered by his clothes. Those were his father's swords, and he refused to give them up. He opened up his cloak, reached in, and pulled out three silver knives which he handed to the guard. He suspected this guard was foolish enough to take whatever was given and not check for any other weapons. He was correct. Had he been wrong, the guard would have been dead already.

The guard took them and said, "You may proceed. There's a stable next to a nearby inn that will be on your right." Rael nodded and walked through the gates, guiding the horse with him. He noticed the inn immediately and brought the horse into the stables before entering the inn. He paid for a room for the night and headed to it, planning to call it a day. He closed, locked, and bolted the door before sitting down on the bed.

He brought out his mother's necklace from under his shirt and held the tear in his hand, looking at it for a few moments before laying down. His father's swords and his mother's necklace were his most treasured possessions. They were the only ties to his past. Planning to have an early start tomorrow, he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Now a few centimeters away from the barn, Rosemary saw a little flickering light that was in the distance. She stopped dead in her track and tried to squint her eyes to get a better view of it from afar, "What is that ? I hope its nothing serious", she thought starting to get a little worried.

For the past couple of days, Rosemary tried her best to duck and dodge danger trying to save up her strength for the ultimate battle that could be around any day. Even though the journey was still premature, it felt like years searching for something she couldn't obtain on her own. If only if she had an army so things could be a little easier..... But atlas, what is the use with an army when the "Ancient one" can destroy half of the universe with the snap of a finger.

Rosemary resumed her walking but with slower steps as she made her way inside the dark and dreary barn. Everything was pitch black making it hard for her to see or feel her way around. Rosemary then remembered her sword that could give off light, "Here goes nothing", she whispered which turned into an echo. The white encrusted sword immediately lit in flames giving off a reddish-gold hue. Things were now into her view as she saw old hay scattered about, a broken wagon that was pinned to the far right end of the wall, water dripping from the ceiling from the rain storm that blew in yesterday. It was dull but Rosemary could careless seeing that she had been in worse conditions after since she left the plush life as a princess living in a beautiful serene castle.

As the past two years wore on, Rosemary had been hit with reality ever since she step foot out of the Destira empire. She slumped her shoulders to they almost shag in a hump-like fashion. Rosemary then yawned and plopped down near the window where it shown the midnight sky in a surreal painting-like way. She laid herself down and spread her arms out stretching the tension off. Then the light that she saw from over the barn flicker in the night air becoming more apparent. It appeared to be a town way over yonder that look very populated, "Thank goodness there is a town. I shall head there into the morning sunrise.....", she thought dozing off into a tranquil sleep state.

Lan was waving bye to everyone leaving, but he sensed something was amiss. He didn't know what, so he turned it aside.

"Oh Lan that was a wonderful performance," a tall woman with brown hair walked up to him and gave him a big hug, "your father would be proud!"

"Thanks mom, alright I gotta go," his mom let go of him, he kissed her on the cheek and ran to the gathering crowd that were chanting his name, "I see you guys stuck around for an encore, well let's see what I have." he reached into his pocket and pulled out a coin, he shined it in the remaining light from the tent. He flipped it in the air and called, "heads!" the coin burst into flames and the flames turned into the shape of a dragon's head, the crowd went wild. "Alright, time to go home I gotta go to bed, see ya!" he waved bye and ran in the direction of a wagon.

"You're late," his mom was standing in front of the wagon, "you really shouldn't do that."

"I know, but they're just so excited to see me I couldn't let go without one more trick." Lan climbed into the wagon and lied down on a pelt from an animal, and fell asleep.

Elen could not sleep…

Near the back of the cave she lay curled up on a small square of raw leather, thrown at her by a particularly unfriendly goblin, she used it as a cushion against the warm cave floor. If it had not been used against her the material would have become some goblin’s boots by now. The leather was thick and she could lay on it more comfortably then burning herself by lying on the heated up rocks further in.

She wrapped the shawl closer around her, ignoring the mining work she could hear coming from far deeper within the mountain. The clanking sound of metal hitting stone caused her to cringe, it made her ears hurt, and she could not sleep. The moon was full tonight and it set her elf blood on fire, she felt energy she hasn’t had for days pulsated strongly throughout her body, she wanted to dance but she couldn’t. It was dark outside and the dark meant danger.

Trembling she covered her ears, soon it’d be over, she just needed to stay in the cave where it was safe, resist the temptation until morning, then everything would be okay at least until the call came again next month. She’s lost control before, times when she’d been too weak to resist; she’d black out at night and wake up again at dawn somewhere else having no memory of how she got there. Those black outs scared her; she became vulnerable, defenseless!

Elena looked up as a blue bird swooped in from the mouth of the cave tweeting its song in urgent excitement. The bird sounded more pleasant than the clanging of the cave, the melody soothed her panicked heart. Before she could comprehend what was going on she had already pulled the tattered green tunic shirt over her head. Having no pants she used the tunic shirt more like a dress, one she was quickly growing out of, she’d need to set her sights on stealing new clothes when she had a chance.

It took Elen’s hazed mind several minutes to process what was going on, she couldn’t seem to get her mind from the question, ‘what was a song bird doing out at night?’ When she finally managed to redirect her sluggish thoughts to her body’s actions she realized she had let her guard slip; now she was too late. Her vision blurred as her foot took her closer to the mouth of the cave of their own accord.

The bird chirped happily and flew out into the fresh air; Elen’s mind went blank as she blacked out, the moon shining high over the world as the bird lead the elf-child into the night.

Gideon had not slept five minutes when the noises around him started to pick up. He was able to ignore the arrival of a new person seeking shelter within the inn, as quiet as the innkeeper wanted to be he still made a devilishly lound noise walking up and down those broken and contorted wooden stairs. Either way the noise didn't last too long and Gideon's eyes once again began to close.

It was when he had a slight smile on his face, due to the very quiet and restful sleep he was currently enjoying, that he heard guards and a wagon outside his room. He couldn't take it, he got up, walked to the window and slammed the shutters. Yawning, he walked back to his bed and tried to sleep. It was useless, he could still hear the voices. My god, what do people do in this city?! he though as he walked back to the window and opened the shutters. He watched the scene with an annoyed expression on his face. If they're meeting this late then there must be a very good reason.

He put his elbows upon the window sill and listened in on the conversation. He noticed a woman wearing elborate garments standing between the two groups of men. She seemed to be the leader of the group but Gideon wasn't too sure. He tried harder to hear what was going on. There was something about an attack, on some farms, the bandits were successful because they rose up to fight even after the militia had seemingly killed them. Gideon's eyes widened. he quickly assumed that the women would call fourth more soldier to rid the town of the bandits so he began to drop off to sleep while still leaning on the window sill.

It was when another woman had shouted "The Ancient One" that he woke up again and resumed listening. There wsn't much conversation afterwards. The wagon and a few guards left leaving the woman behind, standing quietly near one of the streetlamps.
"Excuse me!" Gideon said to her. "Your verbal intrusions at this questionable hour seem to have caused me to drop my normally self-conscious nature and eaves-drop on your conversation." This was how Gideon talked to the upper-class members of Hyra. It made him seem like more of the fool, something the elitist members were comfortable with, that was how he was able to extract more information that they thought they were giving. "You seem to have a bit of a problem. Now I usually wouldn't want to meddle in your affairs but seeing as you have disturbed me infront of my home in the middle of the night I will ask you something. Why so much deliberation over such a trivial matter? They are but bandits after all."

Sharwyn's mind raced with a plethora of different thoughts, fleeting back and forth with barely a second to consider them. The hiring of mercenaries had also began to seem like a flawed idea to her, they would take far too long to mobilize and are renowned for being unreliable even at the best of the times. Finding her way there would also prove difficult, she had never been beyond the city walls and despite being more than capable of defending herself, getting lost in the deep of night would be an issue. If time was not a concern, she would have been able to assemble a reliable group to guide her there, but if she did not seize the opportunity then King Gale would be notified and all evidence would be swept away, both by natural causes and by the clearing of the farming village.

Whilst she wanted to shake these thoughts of the 'Ancient One', of guardians and legends, the captain's account and the woman's rantings repeated themselves over and over. It was a gut feeling, and Sharwyn hated to let her heart rule her head.

Suddenly a voice came from behind her, and despite having heard the man's words fully, she appeared to be too lost in thought to actually acknowledge whom it was that spoke to her. This was likely due to the fact that the tone and manner in the man's voice rose no suspicions to her, almost coaxing her to speak freely; a little too much so, a worried softness creeping into her voice. "Of course bandits are a trivial matter, but they do not attack small villages for the sake of kidnapping a few peasant children... No ransom could be collected, they are worthless," she lowered her head slightly and her brow furrowed. The pieces were slowly coming together in her head, "There have been creatures -- both mythical and magical -- attacking various places around Crisaya. If what the captain and the old woman said are true, then there's only one thing it could be..." Her head raised and the usual controlled expression returned to her face, the typical authoritarian tone with it, "I must see this for myself, without delay."

Suddenly in a moment of realization, she instinctively spun around to face the man at the window behind her, not even sure if he had been close enough to hear her ramblings. This awakening caused her face to turn scarlet, her posture and words becoming indignant and flustered. "Just who do you think you are, to question my presence here?!" she shouted hastily.

She opened her mouth to speak again but paused, observing him astutely for a moment. Aside from the well-spoken introduction and despite the sorry excuse for clothing that he wore, his muscular body was not typical of the usual residents in this part of the city. Neither was the tanned skin, something to be expected more from someone who was used to working outdoors. Her heart leaped at this thought, if he knew the surrounding area she would have stumbled across quite the blessing of luck.

She cleared her throat and made a quick, reluctant curtsy. "Apologies, it was no fault but my own." She did her best to hide a scowl, this would work best if he was co-operative. "Are you familiar with the outlying farming village, about 3 hours ride from the city? I require a guide, immediately." She nervously looked side to side, shouting in the street was rather unfitting of a noble and she would have preferred if what was said next was said in private. She produced the Val'ran seal from beneath her cloak, not intended to necessarily mean something to the man, but more as proof, "I am of a noble house, my name is Sharwyn Val'ran. If you were to assist me it would be made well worth your while in coin, not to mention the gratitude you would be shown from my family."

She squirmed at the thought of her peers seeing her act this way.

Gideon listened with a smile on his face. "Yes I know of the surrounding farmland." He said, dropping his act now that he had gotten information and had her attention. "I was born outside of this city. But are you sure you want to leave immediately? 3 hours is a long time and I haven't gotten much sleep thanks to you." He then pondered the seal she had just shown him. Noble family eh? he thought. No sense in not getting a better reputation by helping out. "Alright tell you what. You wait down there, let me grab my stuff and I'll meet you in two minutes."

Gideon left the window, went to his bed and grabbed a brown sac where he kept various provision and tools. He tied the strap across his chest so it easily hung from his back. He then lifted the wooden bed frame and from under the floorboards he pulled out his axe. To the average man it would have been a heavy weapon, but he had gotten used to working with peices of iron and wood all his life. He firmly placed it on his back, keeping it secure under the tight strap of the sac and exited the inn.

He walked up to the woman standing on the street under the lamps he liked so much. "We should find some horses then, if we're to travel far and fast." She was attractive, he could clearly see that. He usually preferred to keep a respectable distance from nobles and not touch them, but this time he held out his had, but only after wiping it as clean as possible on his pants. "My name is Gideon, Gideon Dane."

Elen walked aimlessly, not seeing and not hearing, circling some farmer’s field. The blue bird sat in the branches of a tree, fluffed up in impatience as the half elf child circled about several times; possibly ruining crops she stepped on. Elen stopped and looked up at the moon, her grey eyes glazed over as she starred up at it. Nearly half an hour passed as she stood motionless, her neck craned to stare at the sky. Wind blowing her hood off her blonde hair seemed to shine like the stars, a smile spread over her face and she ran across the field, giggling with childlike delight as she circled yet another time. The blue bird chirped at the elf as she ran past, but Elen did not hear it, she only danced.

Rosemary suddenly woke up from her deep slumber from a sound of feet running along in the field next the the barn she was in. She sat up and stretched her arms yawning, "What might that be ?", she thought as she got up slowly. Rosemary left her armor in the hay and then opened the wooden doors that led out to the field.

The moon shone over the field making it have a silvery luminescent feel to it. Rosemary smiled up at it as she continued to walk steadily. After for some quite time walking, Rosemary suddenly saw a visible figure dancing around happily. She then registered in her mind that it was a female (Elen) under age who she might thought was lost, "Hello over there. Are you alright ?", she said out loud a little worried for her while continuing to walk.

Yuzu was soon board with both the drink and people, having already turned down one offer to be ‘escorted’ home; it was already to much. She sighed, she had forgotten that it was the way in many of the smaller establishments. So she stood, moving through the crowd with little care in her mind. When someone grabbed her arm, she span round, showing her pointed teeth of the beginning of transformation, something she had planned to keep a secret till the edges of the city where she could run. The man jumped back, knocking over his stool in his haste to be away from her. She watched with distaste as he made a sign of evil over his chest, knowing many had done it before, her kind was rare enough that not many knew about them. It had caused them problems before, but not this time, they were to fearful of her glowing amber eyes and sharp teeth.

She excited the place quickly, not waiting for the man to regain his courage and take it upon himself to beat the evil out of such a ‘pretty beast. She snorted at the thought, she may not have her spear on her, but it would not be an issue for her to defend herself. She walked through the dark streets, keeping a watchful eye on the people around her. The ground beneath her feet felt slick with some unknown liquid, and soon her feet would be incredibly mucky. Luckily she knew that she was close to where she needed to be, the city would soon give way to the soft roll of grasslands and farms. Till then she would keep an eye on the shifty people of the city, who watched her with equal interest. The chilling laughter of children came from behind her, urchins and her hand shot out before one could leave with her purse. She waved a finger before her nose, thinking she would one day be beautiful, but till then she would run with the ratty gang of boys behind her. Plucking her purse back, she reached in for a few coins, handing them over uncaring for the surprised look. She nodded at them all before turning back, she broke into a slow loop, unable to keep her eagerness to be outside of the city again, even though they had only just arrived.

Takeshi rinsed off the bath water, already worrying about his older sister. He quickly dried himself, dressing something that made him look a little less cold; he could do without the trouble tonight. He slung a bag over his shoulder, one obviously not made for humans. He was looking forward to the change tonight, they hadn’t had the time to do so in the time they had travelled, now it felt like a buzz against his skin. He ran along in darkness of the city streets. Soon he could see his sisters form before him, surprised that she had not gone earlier, but glad they could go together. He ran easily to her side, slapping his hand against her shoulder, he admired her long stream of hair, knowing his looked like moons glow next to her fire. He put on some stretch, wanting to beat her this time and soon he was passing by her without much effort, uncaring that anyone would put their money on her over him.

“No fair Takeshi, you’ve been resting!” She called after him, pulling her dress up over her head. She wore nothing underneath, but soon her body was shifting down to her very bones. She chucked her clothes to the floor where he now stood stripping, the siblings barely acknowledged each other as they shifted, knowing who as usual was best. She growled unhappily, as he in his cat form already packed away their clothes, her body still shifting, letting out a soft roll of amber orange fur. She stretched, trying to feel the way this skin fit her, it had really been to long. With a yipping laugh she was off, her claws digging into the soft ground. They were aiming for the abandoned bard just off the side of the city; at least it was so, but it might have changed over the last 2 years. She paid no heed to this thought though, pushing her muscles as she watched her brother come up beside her, the ridiculous bag on his back. She leapt up, knocking him over roughly, her claws retracted as to nit cause him any harm. She could hear his huff, but paid no attention as she was to close to the barn.

Takeshi landed on her back with a threatening growl, telling her all to clearly to stay still and stay down. He ignored her small yowl of anger, knowing that she would listen to him. He lifted his head, sniffing the air, people where here. He shifted, indecisive for a moment, they most likely would not try to harm either of them, but to be on the safe side one of them needed to change. He nudged his sister, telling her to change back as he hefted the bag off his back. He could smell the change still fresh on her skin, but he knew that people always took better to woman. For some reason to his sister in particular, he supposed because she seemed a little to out of it to truly be a threat. He gathered her clothes in his mouth, passing them to her new human hands. He did not look at her as she changed back into her elaborate clothing, hoping no one would call her on why she was out here.

“Taka, I’m ready. You worried about them?” She asked, her furry ears pricking as she tilted to look down at him. “Me too, they smell of metal.” She spat in an unladylike way on the floor. Yuzu loved her brother, so before she would even think of going to see what was going on she would make sure he was as he should be. She ran her hands along his firm body, checking he hadn’t strained anything in their race. He shifted angrily, but she only tapped his nose, telling him family came first in this matter. Once she was sure nothing was wrong, she stood walking towards the noise. Her tail twitched, trying to find the whole in the back of her dress as she walked, wanting to keep her balance. Her head was lifted high, not in pride, but so she could smell the air around her. The smell of people filled her nostrils, but not nearly as bad as the stink in the city. The one that interested her the most was the one calling down from the barn, though she supposed that they had not noticed these two new arrivals,. She waved a hand in the air, wondering what quite so many people were doping in their once quite spot.

“Hello there!” She smiled, resting her hand on Takeshi’s shoulder as she walked to where she supposed they could see her, keeping a good distance from the others, carful not to be thought of as a threat.

Elen could feel the energy course through her very veins, she circled and danced and laughed without a care. The moment ended when she heard someone call out to her, she stopped in mid-step, her cloak catching up to her movements and closing around her. She turned to where she had heard the voice and saw a figure not too far off, tensing at the initial thought that another creature had been watching her. This woman was bigger than Elen in the sense that she was taller, long legs that could easily out run her, arms that could snatch her up; this woman was a threat.

Taking tentant steps backwards, Elen was ready to make a run for it first sign that the predator was out for a hunt. However something about her caused Elen to pause, the woman seemed to glow almost. She did not literally illuminate light but she gave of the impression she was like a beacon within the darkness. Elen was reminded of the moon; she glanced up at the sky with the same lifeless grey eyes before comparing with the sight of the figure in the distance. Elen took a few steps forward, suddenly gravitating to the woman. It was the blue bird that finally made the first sound to cut through the silence, chirping a warning before flying off, leaving the scene. The elf child watched the bird leave, as the bird become too far to see in the dark Elen seemed to lose control, she crumbled to the ground unconscious.

When the elf looking child swiftly turned around to see her in her view, Rosemary tried to have a calm attitude about her, "I'm not going to hurt you", she shouted inching closer to her. Something about that child made Rosemary feel young again for no reason at all. For being so long out in a chaotic and brutal world trying to fend for oneself is hard getting in touch with your child-like self again. You can say that it disappeared when you moved on or grown up with reality.

She half smiled when the girl looked up at the moon innocently as her light blond hair blew in the midnight breeze. All of a sudden a blue bird flew into the air and left making the girl drop suddenly like an apple falling from a tree with a thud, "NO!", she screamed as she started running towards her frantically. All thoughts of happiness came to an abrupt stop as Rosemary dropped to her knees in front of the girl looking at her confused, "Please wake up", she said moving her limp body softly, "Please wake up".

A tear started to come down her eye as she sat there a little helpless not knowing what to do. She tried over and over again to register her mind but it seemed not to help in a situation like that. Rosemary then immediately picked the child up into her strong arms and began walking the other way back to the barn, "Don't worry I will get you somewhere safe", she whispered to her as the girl didn't respond back.

When Rosemary looked up, she saw two other figures in the distance waving at her and the limp girl happily. She moved her head slightly to the side and stopped in her tracks. She remembered the child that was unconscious still and needed help badly, "Please help me!", she shouted to them (Takeshi & Yuzu).

Yuzu watched the strange elf child, her head tilted to one side, wondering if she could be seen. No she thought, she was looking at the other woman. She sighed lightly at the two figures lit up in the bright moonlight, knowing that it would be hard to stay out of sight for much longer. Taka nuzzled her hadn in a way that made her feel altogether better, though still not sure of what she should do. She hung back, watching the events unfold as the armour wearing woman came forward to the bird watching elf. She shook herself stepping forward, they didn’t seem like to much of a threat to her, at least not the younger one. She started to walk over but stopped when Elen dropped to the ground. She brought her hand to her chest, hopping that the small girl was ok. She shook slightly, knowing now she would be taken as a threat if she came close, but she could help. She reached into the pocket of her dress, the bright blue illuminated against her dark surroundings and looked for what she might need. Her eyes caught on the bird, wondering if it was connected, then shook her head, impossible.

Taka moved forward on swift feet, uncaring that he would be seen as a threat. He could hear his sister moving along behind him, he was glad that she hadn’t gone off into another world this time, it wasn’t unusual. She could do it at the most inappropriate times, even in the midst of battle she would sometimes stop and look at a flower. He let out a deep huff, showing that people were coming, he did not want the other woman thinking that they were of any threat, he could see that she must have been in at least a few battles from the way she held herself. He felt a thrill as Yuzu ran her fingers along his spine, not hearing the soft fall of her feet even in this form. She moved ahead of him and he did his best to seem harmless, coiling around his sisters legs much like a house cat, despite his size. He watched Rosemary out of the corner of his eye, not wanting her to catch it and take him as a threat.

“Hello.” Yuzu said coming to a stop no more than three paces from the girls. “I have medicine close by.. I can help if you would like...” She trailed off, trying not to look to noble, no one took well to her kind at times like these. She knelt down, uncaring of the dirt that would show on her new dress, she could always clean it when she got home if they did not want her help. Takeshi felt like a warm weight against her back, but she wanted to seem humble even as the stronger girl stood above her. She looked at the floor becoming engrossed with the softness of it beneath her palms as she sat waiting to know if they would let her help. She poked it, feeling its give and pondering what she cold do with such a thing. Soon though a wet nose pressed against her head and she looked up sharply, realising she had gone away again. She rubbed her brothers ear between thumb and finger, rising with grace as she did so.

Rosemary sighed with relief as Takeshi & Yuzu came to the rescue.....she hoped. She felt tired herself as she laid the semi-cold pale elf girl to the emerald sea grass. She knelled beside the girl and waited for the others to arrive. The moon lit in the spot where the girl lain making her appear to light up like the northern aura sky when at night. She gently picked up the girls small hand and began to check for a pulse seeing if there was hope for her yet.

"Child", she whispered, "Please at least tell me your name...", she trailed off with the last words as Takeshi & Yuzu came over to them finally. She looked up at them while wiping the dry tear from her left soft lavender eye, "Thank you for coming. I'm sorry to bother you but this girl here just passed unconscious to the grass floor for no reason", she explained to them coming to her feet with a little stagger. She glanced around at her surroundings seeing if there were others, "is it just you two ?", she asked smoothing her soft honey blond hair back.

Tapping her foot impatiently, Sharwyn waited for the man to organize his things, still slightly frustrated over revealing so much.

Her irritation faded when she saw him. Whilst she had been able to partly see his frame and stature from the window, she had not expected him to be so tall or healthy. Considering he was almost a full 6 inches taller, it was as if he towered above her. She couldn't help but look slightly surprised by the axe and air of confidence too, he looked and behaved far different than she expected. But it wasn't just that. He had a certain presence. Good behavior too, apparently, a small smile curling on her lips as he made an earnest attempt to clean his hand against his pants. Which by no means looked any cleaner than his hand had been to begin with, but she appreciated the thought and for a moment relaxed, reciprocating his gesture. Behaviour she would not normally have exhibited, but this called for a more diplomatic approach.

Upon touch it felt as if her hand was made from glass compared to his, a roughness and strength that hinted he could shatter every bone if he wanted to. Following this she retracted her hand hesitantly, becoming rather defensive. "A pleasure, Gideon. I believe I have already told you my name and I do not care for repeating myself." She was not used to dealing with this type so casually and rudely turned her back on him, leading the way. A childish attempt to establish control over the situation. She proceeded in the direction that the wagons had originally came from, her pace quickening. "My family own a stable at one of the trade gates so horses will not be a problem. They are well-bred, so I must warn you: any harm that comes to the animal will be your own responsibility."

The night watch was strict at the trade gate, during business hours there would be waves of wagons coming and going, a sea of traders and customers alike shambling along the promenades. At this hour though, it was completely deserted. The only activity were guards, both those in service of the city and paid help by shop owners to keep an eye on stock.

The stables she was leading them to were directly outside the trade gate, which was a short walk from where they were. Despite the majority of the horses being gone with Sharwyn's family, who as dukes had an obligation to attend meetings of business with the other dukes in the country, there were still a few good ones left in the stable. Not the fastest or strongest they had to offer, but just as reliable.

“Yes, my name is Yuzuki and this beautiful cat is my brother Takeshi.” She rested her hand on the soft fur of her brother’s head. Her eyes were solemn as she looked at the other two. Were more people expected? If so they would leave, she did not want to get in trouble for her nosiness; her run had already been ruined by this surprise. She rubbed Taka’s ear between finger and thumb, relishing the exquisite feel of his soft fur, trying to decide if she should help them if others were coming. She sighed hoping it was nothing more than the woman think more people were coming to find her. She wondered if the woman would find her odd for calling a lynx her brother, seeing as she could not possibly see her ears and tail in the light. Walking closer she reached out a hand to touch the elf in her arms, she hummed as she did so. Her voice was sweet and deep moving though the wind as though it was a part of it. She could not however find anything about the girl that made her think her odd.

“Brother go change, you know I can’t carry her. Do you think the servants will have tampered with my herbs while I’v been gone>?” Her eyes lit up, childish joy suffusing her face at the idea of making some sort of remedy for the girl. She did not even turn when her brother turned, knowing he would be back soon. She touched the soft packet in her pocket, wondering if it would be wise to give it to the elf girl. She bought it out of her pocket, squashing the pulp around in its wrappings. She looked up at the other woman, hoping that she would at least tell her name to them soon. She was pretty, if a little shiny in the clothes department, though she herself were used to war, it did not make it any more appealing to see a girl in such obvious armour. Taking her eyes back down to the pulp in her hands she unwrapped it of its leafy binding pinching a small bit away. It would most likely wake the girl; whether that was a good or a bad thing she had no idea. She rolled the pinch back into a small ball, looking at it carefully, it wouldn’t do to have her screaming if she wasn’t alright. She dropped the ball back into its other group, folding the leaves together once more she dropped it into her pocket.

Takeshi moved with a quiet ease behind the old barn, keeping an ear out for his sisters light call. He shifted slowly, taking his time as the process was quite painful to him. He ignored the popping of his joints and how the fur was sucked back into his skin; it had always given him the shivers when he had done so. Soon he was human again, he looked around in the darkness, catching sight of the bird once more. He shook his head, pulling his clothes out of his bag. He had dressed to match his sister, a smart blue shirt and black trousers, what he was expected to wear after acquiring a Lordship. He laughed quietly to himself, slipping on his shoes and tying back his white hair with a blue band of silk. He would look quite the fool walking through the city carrying the young elf, but it was for the best, they could not do with leaving her. He brushed his hands over himself, trying not to imagine Yuzu’s laugh she saw him. He walked back round the corner, wishing just for once she would let him protect her, knowing all to well that he was better at that kind of thing. When he came back into view he smiled at them all, giving a mock bow.

“There, you can give it to Taka, he’s lucky.” She winked at the other woman, touching her brother’s shoulder without thought. She was pleased when he picked her up “We live on the outskirts of the city and I have anything that she might need… You will come, wont you?” She tilted her head at the other woman, wondering not for the first time what they were all doing out here. She shook her head, moving to follow her brother, knowing that the other woman would follow. She wanted to make sure that the child was unharmed; Yuzu knew that in her mind. She began to hum again, using their steps as a beat. Takeshi soon came in alongside her own sweet voice, deeper but not by much. His voice moved through hers, like magic in the air and she knew it would calm the girl in is arms and by their side.

Gideon followed Sharwyn. His head was turning from side to side, watching a few people on the streets, looking at the sky and, not for the last time, staring at the streetlamps. He walked to a part of the city he had never been to before, the trade gate. Most of his busniess transactions were done within the city walls, a door-to-door busniess. It had been a while since he was outside the city, the wind was stronger here, it was not blocked by buildings and towers.

The guards had watched him closely, noticing the axe upon his back. They immediately straightened up and stood still when they saw Sharwyn. "You have this rather interesting affect on people." Gideon whispered to her while watching the guards. He walked around the stables, inspecting the woodwork and the horses. He hadn't seen anything like this in his life. He marveled at the wood, it was strong and, despite being outside of the city and not getting as much maintenence as the other noble buildings, it remained a beautiful peice of craftsmanship. He ran his hand along the grain of the wood, it was smooth, there was no danger of getting a splinter. "Are all of your buildings this good? And your beasts this fine?" he asked pointing to the nearest horse, whose coat shone in the moonlight.

It was then that the stable master came out with two horses. He walked up to Sharwyn first, handing her a mount. Upon seeing Gideon, the stable master frowned "Did someone dare you to change your usual company Lady Sharwyn?" he asked. Gideon didn't care, he expected this kind of treatment. "Thanks." he said, taking the reigns of his horse. The stable master began to speak; "Just sit as comfortably as you can, hold the reigns tight an-"
"I've been around my fair share of horses." Gideon cut him off. With that he mounted the horse and turned it to face the path leading away from the city.
"When you're ready M'Lady." he said to Sharwyn.

That would be because I have to accept your character and I haven't logged in for awhile. The main thing I want to point about your character is that you said he's a guardian. There are only six guardians and all six spots have been taken.

Re: [OOC] The Guardians of Crisaya

I made a character and the Game Master is saying I didn't. Why is this so?!

I don't know about you guys, but I cannot see any of the other posts.
The only post I can see is the intro post at the beginning, with all the info on it.

Sorry, I forgot to update the introduction. The Guardian of Darkness is already taken. If you were interested in that role, I apologize, but if you are still interested in joining the RP, feel free.

Re: [OOC] The Guardians of Crisaya

I am very sorry for this second long absence. At this point, I do not know whether or not this RP will continue seeing as how I wasn't the only was to disappear. Ecsno has been gone for about three weeks, Alise two weeks, and OrionCorona and myself a week and a half. If this RP manages to continue, then that's great, but if it is not about to, then I am very sorry.

I will try to post today, but if I can't, then I will the next time I can.

Re: [OOC] The Guardians of Crisaya

The RP is moving even slower than a snail's pace at the moment.
There are some people who can't post because they're waiting for others to reply to them (that's my case). Other people just haven't come on and posted yet. This could be because of a number of reasons.

Re: [OOC] The Guardians of Crisaya

Was wondering what the state of this RP was and if there was possibly room for one more?

Re: [OOC] The Guardians of Crisaya

I'm waiting on someone else to post since I posted before 2 short ones

Re: [OOC] The Guardians of Crisaya

Guys, I just realized; I can't post anything until Ecsno posts, because my storyline is, at the moment, tied to hers and i'm waiting on her to reply to my post.

Re: [OOC] The Guardians of Crisaya

Re: [OOC] The Guardians of Crisaya

Hey knight i found a replacment for the guard so when you can accpe tthe character ok ^^

I've already accepted her character.

hey knight could you possibly tell me where you are, i'm think of a place to go next and it might be a good idea to go where you are.<("<)

My character is currently in a city on Desitran land. I don't know if it would be good for your character to meet my character there since he's there to assassinate the duke and will leave once the job is done. If donanater is alright with it, maybe your character can meet us at the Empire's capital. Of course, that would be at the night of the current day.
