The Heroes' Guild

The World of Khadesh is ever-changing. Times of peace, and times of war each take their turn as the Great Wheel of Life spins, neither reigning for too long. Good and Evil reach into the hearts of them all, continuing thier struggle for balance. This world is populated with numerous races, each with thier own myths, legends, and stories. But one legend in particular, is known to them all.

The Rogue King, Vorian Barkov. A man of such grandeur and skill the likes of which had never been seen. He had stolen some of the most valued treasures, rescued the fairest princesses, staved off the ungodliest hordes. Stories amass, some perhaps more fiction than fact. The one that is most well known, and that is also true, is that he won a his life and crown in a duel of wits and strength. The King of Decatur, an arrogant and prideful man, had taken it upon himself to bring the Rogue King to justice after he caught Vorian 'compromising' his daughter during an awards ceremony (which Vorian was awarded one of the high honors of the kingdom due to his contributions of espionage). The people of Decatur protested Vorian's incarceration, but the King could not simply let him go. So he arranged for a contest, through which Vorian could earn his freedom. A labyrinth was constructed and filled with the most fantastical beasts that gold could buy.

In the end, Vorian triumphed over the obstacles laid before him. This did not satisfy King Ruker's pride enough. So in the end, it came down to a game of poker between him and Vorian. The stakes increased exponentially as it turned into an ego battle royale. The King was so sure of his hand that he wagered his entire kingdom, and the official Game Master accepted his wager at Ruker's insistence....And the straight flush lead by the Jack of Hearts beats the full house of Aces and Kings. "It was the day when a simple Jack became a King."

Vorian was kind to his opponent, and made him the Duke of Henly and allowed him more than enough time to move out of the Royal Palace. Being as wiley as a fox though, he knew that Ruker would want to somehow reclaim his position, so he married the daughter he was caught diddling. Princess Regina was a sweet lass after all, who went on to become a sweet wife. Eventually the union produced a pair of twins, Alexander and Alexia. While many thought that this would mark the end of the Rogue King's adventures, they were quite wrong. He continued his explorer's lifestyle, leaving his knowledgeable Queen behind to run the country. The epic stories perpetuated, creating an exciting living myth for the people. A hero...

So where does that bring us?

The Rogue King has three years been missing, and been declared by the Parliament of Decatur to be deceased. Queen Regina has become the Queen Regent. The twins are 23 years old but lived a 'sheltered' life (according to some key political figures). It was primarily thier fathers wish that they did not come to court very often, save for holidays. Politics, nor the duties of a royal had been in thier education (which was vast, each of them had thier own private instructors). A law was hereby passed that said the 'youths' had to do two years of explicit education on what thier inheritance of the throne meant before they could claim it. The people felt that the Queen Regent would be more than capable of managing the country until they reached this new majority.

Alexia is quite the figure in her land, due to her frequent public appearances and charity work with the poor and the sick. She is determined to continue this kindness, and to reach the benevolent hand of Decatur even further,...and to complete her requisite study of the law.

Alexander's idea was far more extravagant. He has decided to mold his war studies and yet apply his background in philosophy and logic. "I will found a Guild of swordsman, thieves, wizards, magicians, great thinkers, and mechanics. We shall work together to bring justice to those who are in need. For the people of not just Decatur, but those who require brave souls to do the will of the people. In will do this in reverence of my father's passing, with the hope that more great men shall walk among us recognized, and united."

Welcome to the Heroes' Guild.

Rules

Character Building Parameters

I like to leave this as open as possible, but let me put down a few basic guidelines for making a character. If you can abide by them you're good to go.

1. Characters must be essentially of a good nature. The idea of the guild is to help others, also make money and gain renown, but the primary motivation is to be goodies. Therefore any 'evil' character will be declined. This also includes races that are primarily evil i.e. Drow, Vampires, Goblins, and so on.

2. The setting is fantasy, so think classic D&D/Everquest style. However, technology is at it's fledgling state. There are trains now, though they are not widespread, and guns are just starting their appearance. So...lets say nothing later than 1900 when it comes to equip and backstory.

3. Your character has to contribute some useful skill in order to be apart of the Guild. This includes fighting, magic, healing, and so on, but also things like weaponsmithing for example.

4. Characters must be original.

5. Please no anime pictures. Nothing against it, it's just that when the setting is not anime, I just feel that anyone who uses anime pics has just declared thier character 2D....which would be really awkward in a 3D setting....

6. The world of Khadesh is currently open to being created by others. So come up with countries, and culture as you see fit. (If I particularly like your char's homeland, we may just incorporate it into an adventure!)

7. Your character's age must be proportionate to thier skill level. This will not turn into a high school for the overpowered. Being badass takes time. Period. Let your character develop naturally through RP time.

Other than that, go nuts!

Basic Rules for Play

I think everyone here knows what it means to be an ethical RPer. No godmodding, try to use decent English, no cybering in the main areas, etc.

Eventually the goal of this RP is to allow not just me to be a GM, but also for people to come up with thier own adventures and campaigns so that they can cultivate their own characters' growth. That being said, there is a caveat to this: I DON'T WANT NO F*#KIN' DRAMA WHORES. I'm down for your character having it rough sometimes, but if you turn this RP into one big pity party that surrounds your cross-dressing princess who's on the run from 10 mercenary groups and 5 evil sorcerers and several suitors....I'm going to boot you. This game is about adventure, not about how emo you are.

I've written up alot of descriptive goodness so that the structure and flow of the hall is set. Read this stuff, or you'll make yourself sound like a moron.

((Another thing I should point out, when you arrive at the Guild hall and knock upon the door, you will be admitted in by a human butler. There's two and they alternate shifts. They are run of the mill NPCs. You can portray them as letting you inside and so on.))

# The Guild Hall, 2011-04-23 19:45:44, as written by Indigo
The morning dawned pristine and clear, the promise of a lovely spring day seemed to echo throughout the flora surrounding the Guild Hall. With a feline stretch, the Prince would begin to shed slumber from his body and mind. His silvery eyes took in their first view of his bedroom, blinking as his pupils contracted from the light. Muscles laxing, he'd sigh pleasantly, sprawled across his satin bedclothes. Today was a very special day. The Guild would officially open, and he hoped that there would be many eager young men and women that had answered his call to rally.

Word had been spread not just in Decatur, but in many neighboring kingdoms. The son of the Rogue King would be starting a Guild in his father's honor. A Guild of adventurers whose names may someday be legend. He knew that it would surely cause a spark in his homeland. But he was going to be selective. One would definitely have to prove themselves worthy of becoming a Guildsmen.

Sitting up, he stretched one more time and then scratched his black-haired head. A yawn drifted from his lips, and then he hopped up onto his feet. His dress today had to be exceptional if he wanted to make the best impression on the new recruits. There was much for him to prove....to everyone. A fine linen shirt, the color of fresh cream, slipped on over his head and down his torso. The sleeves were long and frilled at the wrist, adding the necessary flair. The rose quartz amulet around his neck was tucked into safety beneath the fabric. Then, a form-fitting vest of cerulean velvet was set into place over top of his shirt. The buttons were polished silver, and there was silver embroidery in a vine pattern throughout the garment.

Next, he selected a pair of creamy hose, sewn thick at the bottom of his feet for he intended on wearing boots that day. Then caramel colored breeches slid up his legs and were promptly zipped and buttoned. Lastly, a pair of fine leather boots that fitted up to his knee, measured precisely to the contours of his feet. Moving to his jewelry case, he slipped on the signet ring of his monarchy on its rightful finger, and added a thick golden band with a ruby centered in it on his right ring finger. A pair of leather riding gloves, the same shade as his boots, were tucked into a pocket.

With a final glance at himself in the looking glass, he noticed his hair was a fright, and he quickly brushed it into shiny complacency. At long last, he was ready to greet the day. Exiting his apartments, he made his way down the stairs and into the gathering hall. Breakfast time! He smiled handsomely at Greta and Greg when he entered, and picked a table out to sit at.

"Hullo, majesty. Don't want to eat in your room this mornin'?" The pint-sized female chirped at him, her rosy cheeks flushing as she curtsied.

"Not this morning, Greta. Today is the day that the Guild opens, and if I want my men to respect me, I must show them that I can eat with them despite being their better." His expression was radiant with enthusiasm, not a single tone of snobbery in it. The words themselves could be taken in a wrong way, but the look on his face and the tone of his voice was quite the opposite. "Might I just have two eggs, and a slice of ham. A commoner's breakfast would be the perfect start! And a cup of tea, no honey, just some milk."

The little halfling looked somewhat surprised, but she nodded her head and went to fetch her master's breakfast. They were used to his peculiar behavior for the most part, but there were still times when he caught them off-guard.

Bardious Cain made his way up the path all of his tools he brought with him clanking as he did he had be traveling a long way from his homeland and was begining to feel the strain that comes when a person has been traveling and a stop would be welcome.

And then he could see it the guild hall he stopped and inhaled through his nose a rabbit running across the path as he did. He ran a look at the guild hall and thought to himself. "A quaint place but we'll see if the peoples manners reflect what the outside looks like." He set down the path again and walked up to the door balled up his fist and gave three knocks the door opened and a butler ushered him in.

Bardious walked inside and looked around "Nice place." he thought to himself "I wonder where the smithy is." With another glance around he decided to wait until someone came to greet him.

Kinne walked through the city, looking around at the buildings. She had come to this city to join this "Heroes' Guild" that was starting that day. Heroes' Guild. It sounded so fanciful, not like something that could happen in reality, but it was, and they'd probably need physicians to make sure the people who joined weren't going to drop dead at the first battle. She knew of the kinds of wounds warriors got, she had helped treat many of them, and just how many were beyond the aid of physicians.

Well, most physicians.

Most physicians couldn't sew up an internal organ that had been injured, and certainly not through will alone. Most physicians couldn't will muscles, bone and skin to grow back until it was like the wound had never been. Most physicians hadn't gone to an ancient spirit their parents had worshiped when in need of a miracle. Most physicians had only given up time to gain their methods of healing. Most could talk to their patients. She could do all of these, in exchange for the little voice she had hardly been using anyway. She wondered if the goddess had realised how little Kinne's voice meant to her, and how much getting such abilities for her voice felt like it was hardly fair on the goddess.

She could see the guild building a ways away, over a couple of streets. She looked around herself again, trying to figure out which way would take her there easiest. She'd not been to this city before, so it was understandable that she didn't know it's streets too well.

Bjurnhir walked down the road with the sights on the guild hall. All he could think about was to finally sit down and have a giant steak and a big jug of beer. The thought alone made it water in his mouth. He used his pelt mantle as a bag to carry his armor and books in. SOme cursed bandits ripped his old bag to shreds in an atempt to take the gold he possible was carrying.

When he finally reached the gates of the guild hall he could put down he's temporary bag and knock on the door. His red robe was warm and the big leather boots with steel toes wasn't made for walking. A butler opened the door and Bjurnhir muttered a greating before making his way inside.
Better wait here 'till sumone comes and greets mi He tought and scratched his head with his hammer. He noticed that he wasn't the only one waiting for.. who ever it was that wanted people to come here.

Calvin strode down the path, having given his horse away to a farmer on the way to the guild, he didn’t need it really, he had only learnt to ride a horse as part of his knight training. He preferred walking.

He had attached his blank blue flag to his flagstaff today. It was flapping gently as he walked. Calvin stopped now and again to pick a few plants for his herb pouch. He reached inside to retrieve his pestle and mortar. He grunted as he pulled out the pestle with no mortar.
“Great, I guess that means I have to get a new one now.” He sighed aloud, looking at the pestle as if it was the perpetrator. He put the uncrushed herbs into his bag and continued down the path. He saw the Guildhall now; only a slight incline was between himself and the building.

Arriving, he knocked on the door. A butler, Calvin assumed, let him in. It seemed that he was not alone inside. He took a moment to take stock of the grandeur of the building. Then turning his attention to the other people present. They looked like tough capable warriors, so at least Calvin didn’t have to fight too often, or at least if he did, there would be backup. He let the flag drop and took it from the staff, packing back into his pouch. It looked like the others were waiting, so he decided that he would wait as well.

The suns rays hit Griffon's back as it rose slowly in the clear spring sky, a near perfect day, the clear sky offset the yellow sun, a bit windy but not enough to really bother a person. The mountains in thr horizon seemed like paintings on a canvas. The sun highlighted the bright red and orange colors of his half robe. The dark red laces that dangled over his arms glimmered in the sunlight, like leather in the sun. He had his hood up which had a form of an eagle on the tip and came over his forehead just enough to keep his eyes out of sight.

Every time the sun hit his face occasionally he had thought "Why did I not take a train?" That thought quickly went away when each time the thought came back he knew there were no trains leading directly into the town where the heroes guild resided. Besides he needed some sun and fresh air.

Griffon had been riding his horse through the night, he was eager to join this heroes guild he had heard of from the wandering merchants a few towns back, he finally had a reason to put his magic to good use. He rode through the the dirt path carved out in the field by previous riders that had gone through here. He saw a town in the distance and made his horse gallop faster towards the town. "the sooner I get there the sooner I can rest." He said to himself quietly.

Tokala, or in English, Fox, wiped her tan brow as she walked toward her destination: The Heroes' Guild. Her stride was quiet, determined, and possessed all the grace of a slinking jaguar. She and her two friends from her homeland Arcesia had just arrived in Decatur two days ago, but had mostly stayed in the outer regions of the kingdom, dwelling in the forested areas where no populace could question their motives. Which was not to say that their motives were ill, but the three people had grown to be wary of strangers- especially ones who dressed as these folk did. How they wore so much clothing was a wonder to Fox, as she very clearly felt the sun's rays beating down upon her skin in the very little amount she wore now. She thought this while approaching the city, eyes darting here and there to make sure she was in no danger. It didn't help that this was the first time in months that she'd traveled alone.

Her two rebel companions had decided to continue traveling the world in search for a land more similar to what Arcesia had been like when they were little- not this developed town, despite Fox's incessant urging of them to join her in becoming one with this new, aspiring guild. Fox did not plan to join to find friends, socialize, or make a new home. She was doing this so she could help innocent civilians like the ones in her homeland- perhaps one day save Arcesia with an organized group. Who really knew, though? The other two were wary, not trusting of anything run by a person who was involved in a monarchy... or any government for that matter. Fox, unlike her companions, understood the idea of compromise. It had to be done for the overall good. Still, Fox couldn't shake the disappointment she felt was she departed from Nanuq and Ujarak. Perhaps it was unwise of her to try to join this Heroes' Guild after all... She was just a young girl. Maybe she was too inexperienced?

With a stubborn shake of her head, Fox quickly got rid of these doubtful thoughts. It was very unlike her to question herself, usually too self-assured for her own good. She was an excellent fighter, as quick, silent, and dangerous as death itself, as her band of renegades had told her. Yes, it was known that she was probably the most skilled combatant in her whole town, raised in a time where savage war was the only thing to occupy your time with. It was too late to turn back now anyway. Upon taking a sip out of her flask and readjusting her belt, she tread through the people-filled streets of Decatur. It wasn't long before she'd reached the final destination and rapped against the large doors. A man let her in and brought her to an alleged waiting area where she saw a number of brutish looking men all idly standing. The short, skinny girl felt mildly threatened and felt the bow on her back, as if to prove to herself that she did still have her weapon and had the capability of defending herself if she so needed, despite the rational part of her mind that told her that these should all be good people. The wild girl with the fierce amber eyes took her place in the corner and assessed the others who'd shown up.

Griffon had finally made it to the open gates of Decatur, he dismounted his horse and tied the reins to a post just outside the gate. He made his way through the bustling streets towards the Guild Hall, The grandeur of the building stood out against the plain design of the buildings surrounding it. He approached the intimidating building, walked up the stone path, and knocked on the door. A butler greeted him and let him in, Griffon walked in scanning his eyes all around to get the full stature of the place. He noticed other large men already standing in the hall, He presumed they were waiting for a the leader of this Heroes' Guild to greet them. He saw a rather short young looking woman in a corner all by her lonesome.

Griffon's was about as tall as the other men but not nearly as muscular. He had a somewhat muscular build due to the training he had done with his bow and arrow and the acrobatics training he did in his spare time other than learning magic from his mentor. He took his hood off revealing his face which looked to be a face that of an 18 year old. He looked younger than his actual age of 22 but that was one advantage he liked, when people first saw him they underestimated him which worked to his advantage. He ran his hand through his short black hair which got a bit messed up from the hood.

He spotted a bench next to a wall, he walked towards it, and sat down, he took off his bow and quiver from his back and set it on the ground next to him. He slouched back so his back was resting against the wall. He reached into his black satchel and pulled out a spell book and began to read several passages to catch up on his more complex spells. Griffon didn't know how many others would be coming today to this Heroes' Guild, and didn't know if any had dedicated their main abilities towards Magic, he wanted to be the one wizard everyone could turn to for any help that required his abilities.

Kinne arrived at the doors without too much trouble after she had asked someone for directions (it was extremely difficult to find a gesture to mean "guild hall" that didn't look ridiculous). She knocked smartly on the door, as the others had done, and a man whom had the appearance of a butler opened the door for her. She dipped her head in greeting, and as thanks, before the man lead her to what she could only assume was a waiting area. There were several men sitting around the room, as well as one girl, and a young boy. She looked around nervously, before dipping her head briefly in greeting. She walked further into the room, stood still, and started idly reviewing the herbs in her bags, and their uses, mentally.

Griffon slightly looked up from his book to see another woman enter through the double doors of the guild. He didn't really pay much attention to her but he did realize the room was getting awfully full. "When is the guy getting here?" He said out loud to himself. He did like the setup though, the heroes' guild seemed to be to have a modern interior design. Where Griffon was from only really rich people lived in places like this. "I could get used to livin ' in a place like this." He whispered to himself.

Before too long, his desired breakfast was placed before him, and after a chipper "Thank you!" to Greta, he descended upon it with gusto. However...about halfway through his meal, he heard a noise. At this point, there was no sweeter sound in the world! That of....

The butler ushering someone in...and was that..not one, but two pairs of feet?!

With a clang, the fork was promptly released from his hand. The napkin was hastily swept up into his hand so that he could render his face crumb-free before it was tossed down onto the table. Pushing himself onto his feet, he made his way to the atrium to greet his guests!

Appearing in the doorway, he would lift his chin and bring forth his regal aura. "Welcome to the Hall for the Guild of Heroes. I am Crown Prince Alexander Sciris Barkov, Guild Leader." He paused now to wait for their respects and introductions.

Kinne looked at the new man, noting that this was probably the prince heading this guild, if his clothes were any indication. When her incling was confirmed, she dropped a deep curtsy. She realised, as she straightened up again, that he would probably want them all to introduce themselves. That was going to be fun. She stepped back slightly, further into the group, so as to be less noticable. If other people introduced themselves first, it would give Kinne time to think of how to introduce herself. From what she could tell, she was probably going to end up being called Mute again, which was rather annoying. Oh well, at least she'd been called that enough that she answered to it easily enough.

Bjurnhir looked with mixed feelings at the young man who had made that big entrance. He doubted that the nobleman could lead these simple wanderers. But only time could tell, and if it's something a dwarf had. It was time. He stepped forward and dropped his ''bag'' to the ground.
'' Greetings Prince, I'm Bjurnhir frum Hir Hall and thank ye fur the warm welcome'' He said and put his pipe between his lips.

Griffon looked up at the prince greeting them all. He closed his book and put it back in his satchel, he jumped to his feet leaving his bow and arrow on the bench for now. He walked through the foyer to greet the prince stopping a few feet from him. He liked getting introductions out of the way early. "Greeting s Sir, My name is Griffon Sheoul, I hail from the country of Triknos, I am a wizard and would like to join this heroes guild." He hoped it wouldn't throw off the prince too much, the voice that came out of his mouth didn't really match the youthfulness of his face. It sometimes threw people off when they heard a young man in his early twenties voice come out of a seemingly young boy of 16. He said this while bowing in front of the prince.

He didn't want to come off as too eager but also wanted to show that if he had the position of the 'Main' wizard on this team that he would not let them down. He walked to the side a bit to make sure he wasn't blocking the path of any others that wanted to introduce themselves. He wondered where this would all lead him, he wondered if this would just be protecting this kingdom or if it would be protecting the world? He was excited to see just what would be going on in this heroes guild.

The Prince arrived in the room and many introductions were made. Calvin decided he would throw his own in, he drew his sword and held it in his right hand, point touching the floor with his palm resting lightly on the pommel, the flagstaff clenched in his left.

“Well met Prince. I am Calvin Rumex, or some may know me as the Warrior Medic. I am also here to pledge my allegiance to the Heroes’ Guild and to the crown of Decatur.”

He neither approached nor backed away, but he did bow his head in respect to the Prince. He had no more to say for now and so sheathed his blade and allowed the next person to introduce themselves.

The dwarf was the first to respond...DWARF! Dwarves weren't very common in Decatur, but while at court he did meet a few of them. It made him feel momentarily ashamed that he didn't know much about dwarf culture or lore. How was he ever supposed to appear competent in front of his fellow Guildsmen if he didn't have some kind of empathy for their race?!

Blinking for a moment, the charm switch flicked back on. "Bjurnhir of Hir Hall, you are most welcome! Have you come to answer my call to greatness and join my extrodinary league?"

Bardious chuckled. "He certainly isn't lacking in confidence." He thought to himself looking over the prince from head to toe. "He looks like the tricky type like he is playing a game with everyone then changes it up to keep it interesting." He then spoke up "I've come to do just that lord. Bardious cain blacksmith at your service." He grabbed a hammer at his belt and started to look it over he was worried that it might have been damaged from the trip.

Bjurnhir smiled and removed the pipe from between his lips.
'' Aye! I'm here to answer ye call '' He said and put back the pipe in his mouth again. The human tradition of bowing wasn't anything that appeal to Bjurnhir and weren't going to pick up the habit, so he just nodded towards the prince. He doubted that the Prince knew much about the history and tradition of Hir Hall due to hit being off limits to the world. shielded inside their mountains, long way from any other kingdom.

But he looked like someone that were eager to learn and Bjurnhir guessed that he would have to tell the history of his people someday, might as well be to a human prince

Kinne sighed deeply, near the back. She couldn't think of any method to tell people her actual name that she could actually do at that moment. She supposed it was going to be another while of being called Mute. She stepped forward until she was within easy sight. She very slowly went through the gestures, sometimes substituting difficult ones for ones that could be decoded without past knowledge of sign language. She pointed at herself, to indicate "I", then gestured her throat, before shaking her head, to indicate "Mute". Together, these gestures meant "I am Mute", and she went on to a different sentence. She signed "I" again, then pulled a small broach from one of her bags. This broach was carried by all Lorinth physicians, as a symbol of their skill, so holding it up indicated both "from Lorinth" and "a physician".

Griffon looked up at the prince greeting them all and talking to a man that was apparently a dwarf. He closed his book, put it back in his satchel, and jumped to his feet leaving his bow and arrow on the bench for now. He walked through the foyer and the others standing around him to greet the prince, stopping a few feet from him. He liked getting introductions out of the way early. "Greetings Sir, My name is Griffon Sheoul, I hail from the country of Triknos, I am a wizard and I am also answering the call to join this heroes guild." He said in a relaxed yet direct voice while also bowing his head. He hoped it wouldn't throw off the prince too much, the voice that came out of his mouth didn't really match the youthfulness of his face. It sometimes threw people off when they heard a young man in his early twenties voice come out of a seemingly young boy of 16.

A radiant smile filled up his features. "Most excellent, Sir! Come, and I will-..." It was then that he noticed that there were even MORE people in the room. Quite the head count actually! 6...and they just opened the door this morning! He knew that the Guild was going to be successful, but this was already exceeding his expectations! His eyes became glossy for a moment, and he sucked a breath in to puff out his chest in pride.

Then a young man came to bow in front of him. A wizard he said. Magic was not his strong suit in the least, so this was a boone. "Griffon of Triknos, you're skills will be most welcome here. I'm glad to make your acquaintance." He gestured with his hand that the mage was free to rise from his supplicated position.

His silvery eyes now moved to land on the knight. A man after his own heart! Living by the sword with honor! "The crown accepts, Sir Calvin. Warrior Medic, you say?" His fingers moved to rest on his chin for a moment. "I had not considered the necessity of medical personnel, but you seem to have reminded me! I shall be speaking to your further on the subject, good sir."

Nextly, he addressed the blacksmith, and his tone became all business. "Bardious Cain, you are going to find your hands quite full, it seems. I'm going to require examples of your work for my inspection. If I find your skills satisfactory, your acceptance will be immediate." He finished with a curt smile and tilt of his head.

There were two females that were also in the room. Thank goodness, he was starting to think that the Guild would be filled with nothing BUT men. He didn't want things to be non-diversified here. One looked....well, feral, for lack of a better word. As she had not yet come to address him he would not approach her. It wouldn't be proper. However, one of them did come forward and began gesturing with her hands. She pointed at herself, and he nodded his understanding. Then to her throat. "Oh, you cannot speak." The broach was presented and he leaned over to inspect it. "You're a Lorinth physician?" He looked up at her face, his look crestfallen. That was rather impressive. Unable to speak, but bore the mark of a qualified healer. Wonderful, what a story of triumph she must have to tell, but the tragedy of her being unable to tell it! It was almost enough to make him flush.

"Your abilities will be most needed. Sir Calvin! Come make the acquaintance of..." He paused for a moment, how could he find out her name? "What is your name, miss? I could get you paper, you could write it down for us! GRETA! I NEED PAPER AND A PEN THIS INSTANT!" He took up the mute girl's hand in one of his own and gently patted it with the other. "Some may treat you as lesser because of your inability to speak but you shall not find such cruelty in my hall." He declared passionately before using his free hand to gesture towards the Warrior Medic. "Sir Calvin is also of the healing persuasion so you two can work together to care for all of our fellow Guildsmen....GRETA!!!"

Bardious looked up from the hammer he was holding. "Well i have some examples right here." He turned to his pack he had set down and pulled a few weapons out and laid them out on the table pointing to each weapon he explain what they are made from and for. "This pair of dual swords are my pride and joy made these from Ridor stone it looks like obsidian but its almost unbreakable as diamond these are worth my weight in gold." he went to the next one. "This great axe was made for a dwarfen warrior by the name of Modimer you can see that from the shortness of the hilt and the custom runes he had implemented." Then walked over to the last one. "This shield was gonna be for a human bounty hunter he didn't want to pay the fee i demanded and tried to take it by force and that was when the pair of dual swords i mentioned earlier came in to play"

Kinne nodded when the prince figured out what she was saying, glad that he was smart enough to figure out what she was actually saying. She followed his eyes to the knight in the room, whom seemed to be called Sir Calvin, wondering why they should meet. She noticed that prince Alexander stopped mid-sentence, trying to think of how she could tell them her name. She was just about to sign "writing" when he suggested the idea of writing it down. Kinne smiled when he said that she would not be treated badly in the guild hall, and patted her hand. Truth be told, her inability to speak, and, by extension, to scream, had singled her out as a perfect victim a few times, but her swift feet had saved her just as often. She jumped a bit when he shouted suddenly for a "Greta", whom she assumed was a servant, or a maid of some description. When he explained about Sir Calvin being another physician, she nodded her understanding of why she needed to meet him. She curtsied slightly, as she was fairly sure that was what was proper to do when meeting a knight.

Adriac Veras dismounted outside of the Guild Hall and left his horse in the stables outside, then walked up the the doors. It was huge building, and it seemed no expense was spared in its construction. Adriac never understood why the appearance of one's abode mattered so much, but he decided not to rush to conclusions after the Guild until he had more knowledge. He knocked on the door.

A butler opened the door for him, and seemed unimpressed, but was still nice and cordial, welcoming Adriac inside and showing him to the meeting place. The reason the butler was so unimpressed by Adriac, was probably that this was a guild for heroes..and he didn't look like much of a hero. Surely, this butler had seen many larger figures with nice weapons and armor..or some sort of obvious strength or magical ability that made them fitting of the title this guild would bestow. Adriac was small in stature, did not look battle-tested, and was dressed in simple clothing. His armor was on, but was under the tunic and breeches he wore. His two handaxes were visible on his sides, but other than that..nobody could see much about him that looked heroic.

Unlike the others, Adriac didn't rush over to make himself known to the Prince who was obviously in charge here. Instead, he waited in the back and watched as each person introduced themselves. He studied them, studied the Prince, and paid attention to every detail that could be important soon. Were they arrogant? Were they greedy? Why were they here? Adriac didn't want to ask each person, but this was an easy way to figure out what each of his possibly-future-guildmates were like.

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Bummer...this seemed like something fun to get into...seems I keep finding the dead ones. Maybe I'll start something, at this rate.

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Well this is obviously dead. Cya guys.

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

I'm still here. I'm waiting for Indigo to continue the story

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Hello? Anybody here?

Hellooooooooooo?

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Indigo, I've replaced my character with another, much better one. Are you willing to accept him?

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Darn it, in my haste to post I forgot to change location! Just imagine it says Guild Hall.

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

So lets just have everyone move on over to the Guild Hall board, and we'll post on there from here on out. :)

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

I just kept forgetting to do it before clicking submit. XD;;; Just assume Kinne's wherever makes sense for her to be.

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Holy fucksticks Batman! I didn't realize everyone was posting on the 'Khandesh' setting! >.<

And here I was wondering where everybody was! The intent was for the Khandesh thread to be for lore posting, and the Guild Hall one for ICness. I guess I should have specified that a bit more! Anyhoo, I'll get started on replying to all the stuff I've missed! >.<

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Yes, at all times! :)

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Is this still open for new characters?

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

First post is up and away! Let's get this party started! :D

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Hey all! I just submitted my character. :) Should I be accepted, I'm suuuper excited to participate in this roleplay. :3

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Aye it does! I was thinking we could start off with our 'hopefuls' making their arrival at the Guild, and doing the whole 'test' bit. In the place 'Guild Hall', there's an entire descrip of what the place looks like for the most part. :)

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Does the guild hall have a library? Will our characters already be in the guild at the start, but not proven themselves, or will they by chance prove themselves for the guild without being in it first? How big is the guild hall?

Yeah, I ask a lot of questions, sorry.

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

I'm pretty stoked at the diversity of characters so far. Well done, ya'll. :)

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

I submitted a character, im still working on his history, I just wanted to get him up there.

Re: [OOC] The Heroes' Guild

Rad! There's no such thing really as 'reserving', as there's no preset characters. Just crank one out and get it up there. :)

One thing I will mention as it is pertinent, is that there will be an IC 'test' to prove that you're worthy of the Guild. If you're character has been approved by me, it will pass the test. However, I dislike starting RPs off where characters know each other when the players of said characters don't. It will also allow me to get an idea of everybody's style. IC 'tests's will be administered by the Prince.

Also, once we reach a certain number of characters, we will kick off the first campaign of my making. If I get a crap-ton of characters coming in, I will put a cap on how many players go on the mission. This will not be done randomly, but by what skill sets your characters have that would contribute to the success of the particular mission. If a character is not selected to go on the mission, you're free to RP at the Guild Hall, greeting prospective members, training, getting to know other guild members, etc.
