Welcome to the Hulk universe, a unique roleplaying experience. What makes this RPG experience different from many others Marval or "Superhero" RPG's is that at the beginning members are unaware of whether their character is a hero or a villain.


The basic idea is that RP characters start off with no memory of their superhero or villain identity, with no powers and no superhuman abilities, through RP the characters regain these abilities, and come to unravel the mystery of their predicament. Everything that has been learned or experienced by that character will be added the RPers character sheet (character tab) The next time the member uses their character in an RPG, all of the information and abilities that they have accumulated in their last game is carried over, continuing the evolution of that character. This is accomplished via a statistical system where "post count" is used to distribute powers, abilities, and character information, and will be determined as follows:

1. Per every 5 "good" posts (well written, original, grammer, spelling, andat least one paragraph consisting of 6-8 sentences) the RPC regains a piece of information concerning their true identity.
2. Per every 10 "good" posts (accumulative, including the 5 posts submitted to gain identity information) the RPC regains an ability or power.


It should be noted that while some of the characters within the Hulk universe do indeed come from the Marvel Universe, they are not limited to their original histories, powers, abilities etc. This is the reason that I set it all in an alternate dimension, so that we can take the characters beyond the confines of their comic book/film origins.


The Realm of Exiles


The Hulk universe has an overall story arch, involving an old enemy which has returned from his forced banishment into a metaphysical dimension called the Realm of Nothingness. It is into this mysterious universe that this being, who is keeping his true identity hidden; known to the prisoners only as THE DWELLER, has placed his old enemies. As an RPC you are trapped in another dimension, your memories, abilities and powers have been stripped from you. Your task is to regain your identity and defeat the Dweller in order to release yourself from imprisonment, this will not be an easy task, as this being was only defeated originally due to the combined strengths of the X-Men, Avengers and the Hulk. Along the way you will revive old friendships and uncover past rivalries.

A few Specifications:
1. The realm of exiles is only for "exile characters" if you rather create your own character you are free to post in the other two locations.

2. Exile characters cannot RP in the other two locations until they have completely regained their identities, this makes sense since it would be impossible to RP with a character who doesn't even know who he is.

3. RPC 's from the other two locations cannot enter the realm of exiles and participate, at least not in the same way as exile characters, as they would already be aware of their identity. Unless a member can find some clever way of participating in the realm of exiles in some other compacity.


The Third Dimension: Earth


This location has its own group of RPC's, including David Banner (The Incredible Hulk), Robert Banner (David's father). Bruce Banner (David's son), Jennifer Walters (cousin/She-Hulk) etc. RPC's in this location are designed to portray more mundane situations, although an occasion supernatural/superhero slant is welcomed. Essentially, when creating RPG's for this section one should think in terms of the Incredible Hulk Television series starring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno. For those of you not familiar with the series, an episode essentially goes like this. David Banner comes to town, gets involved with a bad guy, a needy child, natural disaster, burning house, murder mystery, etc. etc. etc. In the episode he turns into the Hulk about two times, beats up the bad guys, saves the child, saves the people from the disaster or the burning house, finds the real killer, etc. etc. etc. At the end of the episode Banner walks off alone.



Beyond the Hulk universe


In this location members are free to create their own RPG's, this is more of a freeform location, where members may use any character that they wish, being it exile, original, or third dimension. Provided that any action within the RPG does not violate what has already been established for that particular character within the other two locations. Exile characters must have regained at least some of their abilities and memories before RPing in this section.

1. Third person posting is preferred at this forum.

2. Character dialog should use quotation marks "Damn Peter, you really scared the hell out of me"

3. Do not post one liners, it gives the other player nothing to work with, and you won't get any points

4. Try to post at least one paragraph consisting of 6-8 sentences each. This is important when trying to regain powers an abilities.

5. When roleplaying in battles, remember that you are not God (although some characters have immense powers) so you should not God-mode, it would not be fun to just kill off anyone you want, as it would end the game real quick.

6. Auto-hitting is defined as roleplaying that you hit your opponent with an attack before they have a chance to reply or defend themselves. It is always wiser to "attempt" a strike.

7. All kills must be sanctioned by the moderator or an administrator, this includes non player characters that have been create by another member, feel free to create a NPC of your own and kill them off as often as you like.

8. When doing your roleplay posts, use the PAST tense (turned, stood).


9. Powerplaying is taking control of someone else’s character without their permission. Story lines often require one person to declare actions/dialog for another player’s characters. Try to keep this to a minimum, if you must, Be nice. Anything you declare that another player’s character is doing or saying should be in line for how that player has developed his character. When a storyline involves several characters give the other players a chance to contribute. Don’t jump the story beyond their chance to respond.

10. The moderator reserves the right to make all judgment calls in combat situations. When characters are fighting they will take turns posting, attacker going first. Once one person has posted an attack, they cannot post another attack, nor move their character until the opponent has posted his or her counter attack or damage infliction. If you are pronounced dead you are welcome to rejoin the game as a new character, if available.

11. Members/characters start with no memories of their superhero, villain identity, no powers and no superhuman abilities. Character information, powers and abilities are acquired based on post count, 5 posts toward regaining the characters identity, 10 posts toward gaining an ability or power. This is accumulative, if you post 5 times and regain a bit of your identity, you only need to post 5 more times (ie 10 posts) to gain a power or ability. The moderator will do his best to keep up on this distribution of powers, please help by reminding him when you are deserving of a new ability etc.

12. Exile characters must complete the Realm of the Exiles portion of the forum before that character can interact in other dimensions or upon the earth. The Exile realm is completed by:

a) Regaining the characters identity and powers

b) or if your character is removed by The Dweller and placed somewhere else.

13. You cannot come back as a character that has already died in the game, unless a moderator makes the judgment that another character would have the ability to bring someone back to life.

14. Try to be a productive poster, keep your character going, all characters that are left inactive for a period longer then 1 week, their actions will be taken over by the moderator and dealt with in one of the following ways, until such time as the member is able to return.

a. Character gets hurt severely and is put out of commission for the necessary length of time.

b. If left inactive long enough, the player dies and their points/energy is divided up between the remaining characters, in other words, if your inactive you will run the risk of your opponent winning. So don't let your character down.

15. Each player may have several characters. When posting make it very clear which character is involved.

16. Once a player regains their identity the moderator will post an image of their true superhero or villain identity within the following post, this will also be added to the character's profile.
