Introduction

The History
For last century, governments around the world have been trying to find ways to use psychics for warfare. Anyone with "gifts" was captured and classified. They were put through painful experiments for the personal wealth of each government. For the last 80 years, psychics have found no way to fight back. Anyone who rebelled never survived long enough to do any real damage. But in the last twenty years, psychics have been coming together to fight, and are becoming a larger threat to the Crusaders. This only angered the Crusaders further and cause a harsher crack down on all psychics. Now all psychics are faced with a choice, join the Rebel with almost certain death but honor, or become a traitor and fight with the Crusaders. The Rebels have come together in the last few years, establishing a central Headquarters. Little do the Rebels know, the Crusader may know more about them then they let on. They may even have someone on the inside. A full on war is brewing, and the Rebels lack the numbers of the Crusader. Who will prevail?

Rebels POV
Everyday, we pass you on the street. While you worry if you will miss your train, we worry if anyone will notice us if we disappear with the wind. They say we are special, gifted, but most think it’s a curse. We don’t get to choose this life, and most of us wouldn’t have anyway. Everyday they take us from our families, experiment, even torture us, until we’re used up. Then they toss us out with the bath water. The more powerful you are, the bigger threat you are to them. They classify us like animals, and kill us like them too. They don’t care about age, gender, or circumstances, only our precious “gifts”. There used to be no hope for us when they started finding more of us and hunting us even more, but perhaps there is hope on the horizon. A few have been fighting back. Although not many have survived, it has inspired more and more of us to fight. Will you join us, or become one of them?

Crusaders POV
We are the best of the best. A special force trained and cared for by the government. We have the right to capture and kill any psychic we see fit. The government gives us all the weapons and resources we could ever need. Our job is simple, capture any psychic and kill any who can't be detained. Our methods are brutal. Some of us are psychics ourselves, turned bitterly against our own kind. Most of us enjoy what we do. When the rebels started popping up, it was a joke to us. Now that there are more and more it is becoming a threat and we will stop it at all costs.

CLASSIFICATIONS

PUSHERS: The most dangerous of all psychics, these individuals can "push" specific thoughts, memories and even emotions into their targets.

MOVERS: Can manipulate inanimate objects at varying distances. Advanced movers can work at a molecular level creating protective shields in the air around themselves.

WATCHERS: Trained to self-induce visions of the future that include both images and sounds, like a prolonged sense of déjà-vu. Trained Watchers visions can extend hours or days into the future.

STICHES: Stitches are psychic surgeons, healers trained to quickly reconstruct cells to their previous or healthy state. They can also deconstruct cells in the same way, causing pain and/or death.

BLEEDER: Bleeders are trained solely for assassination purposes. They can emit high-pitched sonic vibrations that cause ruptures in a target's blood vessels.

SNIFFS: Highly developed clairvoyants who can track the location of either people or objects over varying distances.

SHADOWS: These individuals can temporarily shift patterns of light on any object to create illusions to the naked eye.

WIPERS: Skilled at either temporary or permanent memory erasure, an invaluable asset in espionage. Having wiped memories makes it impossible for a Watcher to see what you planned, since Watchers feed off memories most of the time.

RARES: Anyone with a power that does not fit one of these classifications is considered a Rare, and high coveted but the government for experimentation.

I lay, looking up at ceiling and thinking. Thinking about why I was doing whatever it was I was doing. I pulled at the dog tag at my neck, only marked with my name and a number. I didn't know where it came from. I didn't even know where I came from. The tag was the only view of my past that I had. The room was cold from the small open widow that allowed air in and troubles out. Slowly, I moved to a sitting position on the bed, then standing. I looked at myself in the mirror for a moment, gripping the sides of the porcelain sink.
"Who am I?" I asked the reflection, only to see it echoed back instantly. I sighed and slipped on a light pair of canvas shoes before shuffling to the kitchen. There I poured myself a cup of black coffee and relaxed on a stool. I looked out another window the ground level, slightly above my head. Snow covered the ground. I wished to have past like everyone else, even if it was a painful one, I wanted to know why I was me.

Shank walked down the hall of the Rebel HQ. Several people greeted him, to which he only responded by nodding. He soon entered a room, with a few small, yet high-tech computers. At least, High-Tech compared to what most of the rest of the nation had. He sat down at the computer, located in the center of the many networked pieces of machinery. He began typing something into the computer. He pulled out a CB radio, hooked up to the computer network in order to encrypt the frequency at which it ran. "Shank to Em, Shank to Em, come in, Em." When saying "Em", he referred to Emily Wolke, the incontestable leader of the Rebels.
Shank's primary duty, aside from being near the top of the Chain of Command, was to keep computer networks (as well as any other networks he deemed necessary) Up and running, and heavily encrypted to prevent the Crusaders from intercepting the messages. As an extra precautionary measure, the networks' encryption formats and keys were changed, almost randomized, every hour, on the hour.

I was shaken from my deep thoughts by the sound of the radio. I set down the cup of coffee and fumbled to find the CB. I found it in my back pocket and pressed the SPEAK button.
"This is Wolke. What's up, Shank?" I say into the radio officially. Shank was one of the only people I could truly trust. Sure I wanted to trust ever kid that walked through our doors asking for a warm bed, shelter, and some food, but that would be foolhardy. The Crusaders had eyes everywhere and anywhere, so I had to be on alert at all times.

Shank simply responded. "Log on to your e-mail. The file will be encrypted, as usual, with the usual Key. And by the way, I'm changing the E-mail encryptions in about an hour, so log on and read quick. You're going to want to see this." He set down his CB, and began writing out an E-mail with several attachments, all relating to recent discoveries about the Crusaders' plans for the future, as well as several tidbits of Rebel speculation. The most disturbing topic he mentioned was speculation about keyloggers somehow reaching their network.
The e-mail's text read as follows:
E-mail wrote:"Yo, Em, bad news,
The crusaders are allegedly putting keyloggers in my network somehow. The network will be temporarily shut down while I wipe EVERY hard drive on the network with KillDISK. (Killdisk is a program that sets all Hard drive Values as 0, effectively putting the hard drive(s) involved in a state of no data stored.) No worries, all Rebel-generated files are going to be backed up, so we do not lose our progress. However any external files WILL NOT be backed up, as they can not be trusted. After the system is back up-and-running, everything will be put back into place and encryption formats and keys will be changed.
Next on the list is recent speculation from our allies about the Crusaders' plans, descriptions of which are in encrypted .docx files, attached to this e-mail.

S.H.A.N.K Adams.

Shank sent the E-mail, then clicked from link to link on his computer network, disabling communications and write-protecting all computers on the network. He then inserted the KillDISK BD-ROM into his main unit's optical drive, and walked away to go grab a coffee while KillDISK did it's work, locking the door behind him. It's going to be a pain in the ass to put all the computers back to the way they were . . . he thought, taking a sip of his coffee.

Emily quickly ran to the computer and typed all the passwords and keys. She opened the email and looked through the attachments. She gulped as she read all the file names. Words like "Eradication", "Conversion", and "death" never meant good things for them. She quickly walked back to the kitchen to see Shank getting some coffee.

"Where does this leave us?"

She asked in a serious tone. It was obvious that the Crusaders were planning something that involved a massacre, but exact details were scarce. She pulled out the blueprints with their own information about the Crusaders drawn out on it. She sighed as she looked at the incomplete maps, building plans, and operative bios. The Crusaders knew way too much about them, while they were still basically blind.

Shank took another sip of coffee, sighing as he set down the mug. "I don't Know, Wolke." He said plainly. "Very few articles in those attachments are actually from the Crusaders. Some are from Intel, and others are just speculation." He added. He sighed as he looked down at his hands, pressed to the counter. "The re-format could take up to 3 hours. Possibly more." He noted, in reference to the computer network. "Then it will take at least another five to reset the information, and re-route the network." He turned and looked at Emily. "If you don't mind, could you take over Intel ops for today and possibly tonight? The network will take all my concentration."

"Sure."

Emily replied, sighing. This was getting pretty tedious. She hadn't sleep for a few days straight. She just had the feeling of being watched.
