Introduction

~When I compare
What I have lost with what I have gained,
What I have missed with what attained,
Little room do I find for pride.
I am aware
How many days have been idly spent;
How like an arrow the good intent
Has fallen short or been turned aside.
But who shall dare
To measure loss and gain in this wise?
Defeat may be victory in disguise;
The lowest ebb is the turn of the tide.~
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
The shores are beautiful. I remember that day when I was here; mother told me to watch out for the waves. I miss my mother greatly. I loved her very much. My father too. I remember him telling me a poem about gain and loss; something I had long forgotten. I wish they where here; you see, they aren't dead. No, they are very much alive. The thing is, I am; it is very painful for me to cope with this and I feel like crying, but I must stay strong. Even though I am dead, I have accepted that. Though, what hurts me the most is that they have forgotten everything. About me, about my existence.
~~~~~~>
Every day now, I have asked myself the same ole' question. It doesn't make any sense. Have I gone crazy? No, I could feel them, their touch, their warmth, the heart beat. So why can't no one recognize them? They can't be spirits; do spirits have hearts, skin, flesh, hair, bones? How heartless can these people be. They look at them but just walk away. Ignoring. Forgetting. Acting as if nothing happened. Am I the only one?
( INVISIBLE! )
So basically your character dies. Your character accepts that surprisingly well; though, what is shocking, is that no one remembers you. You have been forgotten. You wake up in your room; though, it isn't your room, infact it is something different. Something your parents wanted to have like a gym, or storage, etc, but couldn't have because you where taking up the space. You realize how happy your parents are and how amazing life is with out you and start to feel hurt and want to break down. You decided to go to school to see if your friends, girl/boyfriends, teachers, etc miss you. When you arrive, your surprise that they forgot you too! Now, you can feel the tears come and fill your eyes up. You are devastated at this and want to just disappear for good. All you want is to have someone you know say, "Hey where is so-and-so?" or "Hey there! Why is everyone ignoring you?" or cry, or something. No. You decide to leave your home since no one wants for some reason can remember you. You move to a small town in Virginia called Basye-Bryce Mountain. You also feel ignored here as well. When you feel as if all hope is lost; someone shows you that you exist, but whats strange is that they can feel you, touch you, hear you and see you, as if you where alive. Maybe you are? Could you be alive? If so, then, why haven't your past family and friends remember you? Have they really forgotten?
( PEOPLE WHO CAN SEE THE INVISIBLE! )
Well; not to be too bleak, but its kind of like what the description title says... your a normal person who has lived here in this small town for most of their life, whether you like it or not is up to you. Suddenly, you see a person whom everyone seems to ignore. You are curious so you go up towards them and try to communicate; though, while you do, people passing by start to whisper and stare at you as if your crazy.
OOC Notes
Snow pattered on the ground slowly as the school bells released and the kids of all ages scattered outwards; throwing snow balls at each other, enjoying themselves as if there was no tomorrow. The cold wind brushed against her rosy cheeks as it blew her side ponytail. Kaylee had on a thick coat that went to her knees and a scarf wrapped around her mouth and nose. She sported a light tan hat that matched her jacket. She had on some skinny jeans with big snow boots on. She watched as the kids stampeded out of the doors of the school as she grabbed her book bag.
Many of the kids ignored her and that was the way she liked it. She waited until the last student left the building before walking out towards the sidewalk herself. The snow made a crunching sound as she walked alone in the pure white snow. Her cheeks and nose flustered an apple red from the cold wind as her bright teal eyes beamed at the elementary school across the streets. Her home was about two miles away and would take her at least an hour or so to navigate there. She crossed the street towards the elementary school; knowing that there was a playground in the back part of the school. Traffic and cars where scarce today because of the snow in the winter.
She walked past a small tree and towards the back area past the recycling dumpster; she dropped her book bag onto the snowy ground as she swiped off the snow on the swings with her cherry red hands before sitting on it. She started to swing back and forth onto it; feet barely touching the ground. A teacher with long dirty blonde hair exited the building to spot Kaylee swinging on the swing. The young woman stopped and examined Kaylee before breathing in a small deep breath. "Hello there, may I ask where your parents are? Do attend this elementary school?" She asked, voice soothing yet squeaky; almost giving off that perfect teacher look. Kaylee growled under her breath before glaring at the teacher.
"I don't attend an elementary school; Im a high-schooler that attends the highschool from across the street. You may have heard of me; Kaylee McSerth." She said with an irritated, rude and cold voice. The woman thought for a second before clasping her hands together. "Ah, my mistake, sorry Miss McSerth." She said before she walked off towards her car. Kaylee didn't really look like she belonged to a super rich family; but by that time, she was fairly used to the mistakes.
Kira
Kira walked out of his office, still attempting to put his coat on, he grumbled at the cold, folding his arms and pulling his coat more tighter. "Why does it have to be so cold? I hate the winter..." he let out a breath, it becoming a small foggy cloud against the cold air. He looked back at the building where his magazine was, they only had a small office on the 3rd floor. Their magazine was hardly popular, no one had really heard of it. But yet, his co-works breathed down his neck in order to get articles done. He released his arms and walked off down the road. A few kids were in the park, playing around in the snow, throwing snow balls at each other. Kira felt one of them hit him in the back as he walked past. His face slumped and turned sour, turning to the kids.
"Sorry mister!" one of them called. Kira could only sigh again to himself, brushing the snow off of his coat. Oh how he hated the winter. He smiled to the kids in a nice way in order to tell them it was okay before heading off down the road, to the warmth of his apartment, that was if he remember to paid the heating bill. He cursed himself in his mind, the magazine hardly made any money, hardly enough to pay for the heating in his apartment. "Oh well, another night spent in a few dozen blankets." he sighed irritated, he tried to find another job but no one was hiring.
Kuroki
Kuroki walked down the street, he watched with a sad look on his face as a few kids played in the park. They seemed to be having fun, he wished he could join them. Join his brothers too, his two brothers were also having fun laughing and throwing snow balls at their friends. Some of the girls would scream as the cold snow hit them. His brothers seemed so happy, they had forgotten all about Kuroki. He sighed, turning and walking back down the street, there was a park in the elementary school across the road, after school hours it was completely empty, a nice place to hang out and think about things. It was quiet due to it was a little out of the way, probably to protect the kids. He walked towards the park, when he noticed a girl on the swing, not that it mattered, she couldn't see him anyway. So he continued until he got to the park, he jumped up on top of one of the climbing frames, kicking the air with his legs and listening to the faint sounds of cars driving past. He wore his normal outfit, a messily buttoned up shirt, with an open blue jacket. It would hardly keep anyone warm in the winter, but he didn't feel the cold. He didn't feel anything anymore. Not since that day...
Leliana
Leliana watched the teacher- Mrs. Brice- with eager eyes. Snow was falling ceaselessly outside, yet Leliana couldn't bring herself to care. It was a small room, with only two windows through which seeing the snow was near impossible. They were blinded and taped due to the fact that the students had been scratching at them since the school was built; and that had been a while ago, she observed by the worn walls and old desks. Or perhaps it was new but the students were very rowdy. Either way, Leliana sat in the chair, taking it all in.
Mrs. Brice gestured at the board again. Leli could see a few castouts dozing off in the back; most of the students were jacking off behind their textbooks. Leli was perched in the front, eyes on the open textbook of her neighbor, a girl named Elizabeth.
"And so, students, that is how the thoracic and abdominal cavities are nestled beside the diaphram. We only have about a minute left, so you can all pack up your bags." Leli blinked, smiling gently, before turning to grab her bag. It was made of denim and the loose thing hung easily on her back. She shifted. She wore a coat that fit her perfectly. It was buttoned up just past her abdomen, where there was wrapped a silver scarf. Dorning her legs were simple jeans and on her shoes she wore black boots with a silver buckle on the side, that nearly rose to her knees.
She left before the bell rang, exiting through the open door. When she caught the door as a grumpy vice-principal stormed out, she was slammed with the freezing temperatures. She'd come to the school for a day, to give herself a break. She hadn't sat through an entire school day in a while; she was still searching for others. Her eyes were open, but it was really her heart that had brought her this far. Her hat, a black knit affair, caught most of the snowflakes decending from the dark skies. She began to stride down the slippery sidewalk, glad that she'd had the foresight to bring waterproof shoes that day. She breathed deeply, content to accept her fate. And who knew? Perhaps today would be the day.
Chiro sighed, sitting on his back porch as snow fell down slowly and calmly. He was watching inside as his mother and that man--somewhere along the line he learned his name was Venny--made dinner. It smelled good and familiar, warming him inside despite the cold around him. It brought a small smile to his face, but he knew he wouldn't be joining them for dinner. They couldn't even see him. They didn't even know who he was! It frustrated him to no end but he knew there was nothing he could do just sitting around at the house that was no longer his, moping.
Standing up, Chiro cracked his back and started to leaving his house, going around the front. As he reached the road, he paused at the sound of a dog barking. Looking back curiously, his face lit up as one of his favorite dogs came running towards him, stopping at his face sniffing his feet. "You can see me?" he asked the dog with a smile, petting him on the head. "I knew you were smart, Eddie. Want to come with me?" In response, Eddie barked, padding after his long-gone owner. "At least I have you," he said. Eddie was a mix between a shiba-inu and a german shepherd, named after Eddie Torres, a famous salsa dancer; he was one of the two dogs that Chiro considered his best friends.
He started walking down the road, when Eddie suddenly ran ahead of him and jumped onto a girl in a red coat. "Wait, Eddie!" Chiro called, chasing after him. "Er, sorry about him..." he trailed off, wondering if this girl could even see him. Probably not, he figured with another sigh, trying to pull Eddie off her anyway.
Rinnku was slumped over on the stone steps of a large building, rubbing his temples with one hand and tucking his coat tighter around him with the other. The coat was an old-style trench coat, and was much to large for him, but he kept it because it strove off the cold. He sat huddled on the steps as people walked up and down right past him, going about their normal lives. It must be great, being able to live your life without a thought as to the people around you, he thought angrily. So far today, he'd been all over town in the freezing snow, yelling at people on the street, slapping men on the head and putting himself right infront of people so they'd bump into him. It didn't work; everyone ignored his yelling, and everyone shrugged him off when they made contact with him as if he was nothing more than a stray breeze. It had been the same in his home town the day he woke up in the park, but it was almost worse here in the middle of all these strangers. I mean, they shouldn't have any reason to ignore me, he reasoned in his head, no one hates tourists that much.
He shook himself, dislodging the snow that had collected on his shoulders and head. He stood up, shaking the numbness from his legs, getting ready to make one more run around the city before he curled up on a park bench for the night. He wasn't looking foward to the sleeping conditions, but it was hard to rent lodgings when you can't even get people's attention. He started wandering aimlessly through the town again, hitting everyone he came in contact with and occasionally yelling at someone halfheartedly. He tried to be positive, but he really didn't expect anyone to take any notice to him.
He sighed, after a few days in this town, he'd move on to another. He didn't know how long he'd have to keep wandering. Will I have to check every city in the world before I find someone who can see me?
He had to admit, this town wasn't so bad. In fact, if he wasn't in such a bad state, he might have stopped to enjoy the scenery. He walked past what he would guess was the school house, where he stopped for a breather. He watched the people exit the building, going on with their lives, none of them taking the slightest notice of the white-haired guy in a trench coat infront of the building they were so happily leaving.
Oyamie walked around the park then stopped for a second while a tear dropped from her right eye. She was looking at a little girl she was playing frisbee with her dad and dog and looked over at the mom who was smiling with happines and joy. Oyamie wished she had happines and joy. She dreamed that her mom and dad were at the park playing games and having a picnic. Knowing that wouldn't happen anyway she walked off sitting down on a bench.
She looked beside her and say a woman singing a lullaby to her sleeping baby. Then she looked away and wondered if her mom sung a song to her when she was a little baby. Oyamie pushed that thought out of her head and got up. She had forgotten how it feels to be warm, or how it feels to be cold. The raven headed girl looked towards the school across the street from the park. As she looked she saw students hug each other because they missed them. Laugh when they told a funny story and give each other presents just to show how much they loved them.
Sometimes she wished her mom and dad would remember her no matter what happened to her. She wished they would have never forgotten, and that someone would cry her name everytime they see her pictures. Man, she did not care if she was dead.. She just wished that she was never alone and forgotten...
Nadia clutched the pile of bright blue papers close to her coat as she handed another one of the flyers to an unlucky passerby in the street. “Please fill free to stop by any time, or pass on the information to anyone in need of it. We help both the living and the passed at Kacia & Nadia’s House of Paranormal Connections , K&N for short. I hope you have a pleasant day today ma’am.” Giving the woman her warmest smile, Nadia jogged back to the snow coated park where her business partner was supposed to be helping advertise.
Tan coat belted tightly with soaked tan boots, Nadia slowed her pace as she tried to catch her breath in the frigid air. Passing underneath a set of climbing frames, her attention was caught by a young man with white hair sitting atop it. “I love the hair, perfect for this type of weather!” she called, face flushed from the jog. Nadia flashed another smile for the day before starting back on her way to find where she left her friend. A bit disappointed but not a bit surprised, Nadia found Kacia at the same bench with the same sized pile of flyers sitting next to her. “Have you not passed any out? You know that business gets slower with the cold when less people want to get out.”
A sigh and a shake of her head at the thought of passing out another pile of advertisements for their business, Nadia taped a flyer to the light pole next to the bench and looked around for more well seen spots. Catching a glimpse of a familiar hair color, Nadia stood on her tip toes to see another young man with hair being nearly invisible against the snowy backdrop. “That’s the second one I’ve seen with that hair color. Do you think it’s a new style for winter?” Pointing out the two to Kacia, Nadia let out a gasp as the papers nearly slid out of her arm before she quickly wrapped both arms securely around them.
Kacia sat on a park bench watching the people huddled in their coats as they fended the weather to go wherever it was they were going. The children it seemed were impervious to the frigid temperature, they didn’t slow down for a minute with their games. Kacia, however, wasn’t a child and was currently freezing her backside off. Retreating farther into her leather jacket, she suddenly wished for a more insulated coat and footwear than what she had. Wearing only tattered jeans, sneakers, leather jacket, black scarf and a black t-shirt underneath, she was hardly prepared for this weather.
Her head soon peeked out from her jacket and scarf at the sound of approaching footsteps and a familiar voice. Ah, Nadia back from her venture of passing out flyers, wait, oh yea she was supposed to be doing the same thing wasn’t she. Well, frankly it was too damn cold for her and she stared silently at her friend until a wind picked up. With that wind came an idea and she quickly smacked her stack of flyers over, watching with an unmoving face as the bright blue papers were carried away. “Done, and without the hindrance of actually talking to people.” The papers blew all over the park, carried over to the school and across the city. Probably not exactly the safest idea if one were to plaster to a moving vehicle’s windshield but hey, they were passed out now right?
Fumbling in her pockets now, she pulled out a cigarette and quickly lit it so her hands could seek the comfort of the warmth of her pockets again for just a short time. Now Nadia was pointing out somebody’s hair color? Hm, it wasn’t like her to make fun of someone, more like her honestly but she looked to where she was pointing and immediately spotted the white haired boys. “Maybe they’re going for camouflage in the snow. You know, like ninjas.” Although she had obviously just told a joke, her voice stayed deadly serious as did her features which might make one think she was completely convinced both boys were some sort of winter ninjas.
Kaylee had heard this tune very much before amongst the small children of this small town. It was a song she enjoyed very much; the elementary kids use to sing it every year for the choir concert, but recently, they had stopped it due to budget cuts. "Pray for the forgotten," She started on the first verse. "For they are lost." She stopped as her eyes caught movement moving towards her. She was singing so quietly, almost like a hum, so she guessed that no body heard. She watched him walk near and look at her before he sat onto the swings and started to swing.
He was dressed in a messy buttoned shirt and pants, he had white hair; like the snow. She looked down before she started to swing with him, feeling the cold air brush into her face. "Aren't you cold?" She said in a blunt voice as she swung up and down. "I mean, it is 31 degrees right now and snowing." Her eyes glanced over to him as she watched him. Her eyes went back to examine the things infront of her. She was quiet and didn't seem friendly, or at least, that is what anybody would think at first meeting, especially like this. As she swung, her hat fell to the snowy ground and sunk in. Her long brown hair was messy and frizzy; sticking up everywhere as if she had just gotten out of bed.
She stopped the swings and got off to walk over to pick up her hat. She looked at him before picking up her book bag off the ground along with her hat. She looked at him before hearing the foot steps behind her. She opened her mouth as if she was going to say something before two girls who looked like they where in highschool came up behind and turned her around. "Whats up rich snob?" The first one said. "I heard that you chickened-out on a fight with Stephenie." The other one said with a small smile. Kaylee didn't say anything; instead she didn't even pay attention to them, she just kept looking at the boy who was swinging.
"Oh, ignoring us huh?" The first one said before she grabbed Kaylee by the hood of her jacket and slammed her down onto the cold snow hard. "Im tired of you acting so high and might just because your rich." She said with a snicker. Yet, Kaylee didn't do much, she just kept looking at the boy. Finally, she said something. "How rude, acting so amazonian infront of a boy." The two girls looked at each other. "What the hell are you talking about? There isn't anyone here..." The other girl said before kicking Kaylee in the stomach. "Lets go... before the snob sues us." They said, stomping off.
Kaylee laid there before getting up and brushing her jacket off. She looked at the boy, then at the two girls walking off. "Rude bitches." She scowled under her breath before picking up her book bag and starting to pick the things that fell out of it.
He was dressed in a messy buttoned shirt and pants, he had white hair; like the snow. She looked down before she started to swing with him, feeling the cold air brush into her face. Kuroki sat on the swing next to the girl, she started to swing with him.
"Aren't you cold?" She said in a blunt voice as she swung up and down. "I mean, it is 31 degrees right now and snowing."
He looked at her, a confused look sweeping over his face. "Are you talking to me?" he asked, it was the first time someone had actually talked to him. He looked around, there wasn't anyone else around. Maybe she was talking to him...maybe whatever it was had worn of and people could now see him. She looked at him a few times, well, he probably did look a little strange, he was wearing clothes which if he could feel the cold, would cause him to freeze to death. If that was possible, hadn't he already died? She continued to swing until her hat fell of, that was when she came to a halt and went to pick it up, along with her bag. She kept looking at him, and he just stared back. Can she really see me?
It was then when two highschool girls walked up behind her, taunting her about some fight with another girl. He just went back to swinging. Of course they can't see me. He thought, however the girl kept looking at him, not even paying attention to the girls around her. One of them seemed to get annoyed and slammed her down into the snow.
"How rude, acting so amazonian infront of a boy." The two girls looked at each other. "What the hell are you talking about? There isn't anyone here..."
The girl spoke, she could see him. She knew he was there, but how...? The other two couldn't see him though, they just thought she was crazy and hastily made their leave. Kuroki jumped off of the swing and walked towards the girl, she was picking up various items which had fallen out of her bag. He knelt down, keeping his eyes on her whilst picking up a few things and handing them to her. "You can see me can't you?" he asked her, he was almost 100% sure now that she could, either that or she just pretended she could to scare the girls away, like some of the strange people who contact the dead. If it was an act, she was dead on.
"You can see me can't you?" Kaylee looked at him. "No, sorry. Go away hobo." She said lightly knocking his head with one of her school books. Her voice was blunt and almost as cold as the snow itself as she took the things from him when he had helped her pick up her things. She turned around before she started to walk in the snow. She kept walking until she reached the side walk. She turned around before looking at him, fixing her hat. She didn't like the fact that he was much taller than her and that compared to him; it looked more like she was his 8 year old sister, but her personality wouldn't let her leave him like that.
"I'm not homless or poor!" Kuroki growled, he remembered that they called her rich, so he probably was quite poor in her eyes. And in a way, he didn't have a home, he would sleep on the couch in the house with his mum and brothers. But they didn't see him, they didn't even seem to remember he existed. She knocked his head lightly with one of her books before walking away. Kuroki just watched her go, she got to the sidewalk and turned back around, fixing her hat and looking at him. He just stood still, looking at her from across the park. He was still amazed that she could see him, even though it didn't matter. She would leave him and he'd be on his own again.
Shiro sat their for awhile watching as the schools let out and he waited till all the kids were gone before jumping down the wall and walking down the side walk shoving his hands in his pockets. There's not much to do in this small town... Shiro through to himself before walking to the park. Shiro walked past a girl with rosy cheeks and then walked past a guy that looked poor. While Shiro passed the guy (Kuroki) he mumbled " hello.." before plopping down onto one of the swings and swinging back and forth enjoying the cold and the snow as it melted on his face.
Nadia watched the spiraling blue papers take their leave with the wind and spread who knows where across the area. “You are so lucky there wasn’t a cop to see that. With our luck he’d fine you per paper for littering! Though I have to admit it’s a fast way to advertise…” Knowing it was useless to get her business partner to associate with people, Nadia shifted her own pile of flyers to the other hip as she laughed at Kacia’s joke. Most would take her friend as serious with her tone, but she knew better after spending so much time together. “It must be working well; no one seems to be paying much attention to him. Here, can you at least hold these before I drop them. Don’t even THINK of dropping them yourself either! We’re passing them out the old fashioned way.”
Handing over her pile to Kacia, Nadia turned towards the school where most of the people were coming from. Most of them were students; and she highly doubted their parents would appreciate two woman handing out paranormal advertisements to them, either that or a group of giggling girls would show up as a dare. Coming closer to the street she was able to get a better view of the young man with the white hair and noticed that he looked older than the students. In his early 20’s perhaps? Either way he looked like their best bet before they moved elsewhere.
“Excuse me Sir? If I could have a moment of your time. My friend here and I are advertising for our business Kacia and Nadia’s House of Paranormal Communications , K&M for short.” How many times had she used that line today she wondered as she held out the flyer with their address and number of the business ran out of their home. “We help both the living and the passed. If you or anyone you know is in need of our services we would be more than pleased to help you.” The smile once again returning to her face from not just a few moments ago, Nadia couldn’t help but notice a few students walking a wide distance from them with sly glances and whispers. Eyebrow raised at the scene, Nadia turned around to make sure Kacia wasn’t doing something to attract the attention. Not noticing anything different she shook her head. “That’s odd. Anyway, I’m Nadia and she’s Kacia.” Stepping aside to give a better view of the main runner of the business, Nadia hoped to force some sort of socializing from the girl.
Kacia shifted her cigarette to a corner of her mouth, looking off to the side while Nadia got onto her about tossing their flyers to the wind. She seemed to be completely ignoring her until she asked her to hold her stack of papers. Reaching out with the intention of not grabbing the bundle when Nadia released them, so they could be spread to the wind as well, she sighed when her friend told her not to drop them. “Ah, fine alright but remember how bad business was before you came along. If I fraternize with possible customers, chances are we’ll never see them again.”
She stood to follow Nadia when she insisted on going to bother one of the snow ninjas. Balancing the papers with one hip and the cradle of an arm, she used her free hand to smoke as she trickled slowly behind her partner’s enthusiastic path.
Standing a few paces away from the young man and Nadia, she raised her brow when a group of students walked by snickering and whispering towards her friend. This didn’t settle well with her and if they wanted something to pick at and call weird later, then she’d certainly give them something. Pulling the cigarette from her mouth, she glared at the group then yelled towards them right as they passed her. “RAH!” Watching with satisfaction while the students hurried away, her expression then dropped back to stone when she heard Nadia introduce her. “Hm? Oh, yea uh come by and I’ll connect you with any passed on person you wish. Talk about emotions or find the lost inheritance, whatever you want.” She then resigned herself to smoking quietly, satisfied with her brief social interaction for the day.
Leliana
Leliana was striding down the road, whistling quietly to herself. Her face was going numb with the gentle wind that began to blow; it rose the snow in wild twisters that soon came to land on her head and face. Just then, Leli heard footsteps, muffled by the thick snow on the expanse of road. She turned carefully, not intending to fall and get run over by a stray car. She was unsure if she could die again, but even with all the disadvantages of being in her half-dead state, or whatever to call it, she didn't want to be dead. Really dead.
"Oof," Leli grunted as something rather large rammed into her right leg. She stumbled, sticking her hands forward to block her fall. They made impressions in the white; Leli stood, her face snarling while she turned to meet her attacker.
Oh. It's just a dog.
The thing was a mutt, a mix of German Shepherd and another breed Leliana did not recognize. "Aww, who's a pretty boy?" she cooed, rubbing her icy hands over the dog's cheeks, he was already forgiven. Another person entered her field of view, a man with red hair and a tossled expression. He started tugging at the dog. Leliana rose from her stooped position.
"It's alright," she said as her blond hair dripped water on the top flaps of her coat. The few dry strands sputtered wildly in the wind. "He's just a little overexited." She pivitied on her feet and from years of soccer she was able to do it semi-gracefully. It ended her a few feet from the dog, looking bewildered and unsure of where she went. "My dog acted the same way around snow, and especially new people." Leliana opened her arms to the dog again; mainly overjoyed to be enthusiastically greeted by someone for the first time in a long while. People were okay, but animals seemed to understand- to have some sixth sense. Perhaps that was why the dog spotted -and jumped- on her.
Wait a second- he can see me?!
And the guy?
Rinnku was standing there, still in a state of admiration of the care-free kids, when the two women walked up to him. One of them launched into a well-rehersed dialouge, the other seemed to not want to say much at all. "K&N, house of paranormal communications, eh?" he sighed, turning to look at girl. He stared into her eyes, wishing that they could stare into his. "So you see ghosts girlie? Can you see invisable people too?" He shook his head, and started walking away. He decided to try and find somewhere to sleep where he'd be out of the snow. He looked back, trying to see the man that the two girls had been talking to, but didn't see anyone but the two of them.
"No way, did he scamper away already?" he asked in disbelief. "No, no, can it be?" He ran back to the two of them, his breath coming in large gasps. "Can-can you two see me? Please, can you see me?" he frantically asked, flicking the girl in front's forehead for good measure.
Kaylee kept looking back at him before another boy came from behind her and seemed to have whispered something into the others ear. She didn't care much for the other boy whom had just walked in; since he was appropriately dressed, though, the hobo was one of her concerns. She looked at him before sighing a sigh that was a bit annoyed seeming. "Do you want hot coco? I can buy your cup." She said offering him in a blunt way. "I can't let a hobo stay out here dressed like that." She said before turning around; almost waiting for him to walk up behind her so they could start walking.
"It would make the town look trashy." She said in an almost scowling way. She started to walk again, "If you want to come, then just come. If you don't, then stay here." She was pretty much cold towards anyone. She sighed as the puff of her breath came out of her mouth. The kids across the street giggled and laughed as they pranced around in the snow.
Kuroki stared at the other boy who muttered a hello to him. How many people can see me? he wondered to himself. He turned back to the girl. "I am not homless!" he growled, almost yelling at her. "But a cup of hot coco would be nice if your offering." he seemed to try and smile, but it just looked out of place. He ran up to the girl and walked with her. "Kuroki Rokudo." he said, telling her his name. "And i'm not a hobo."
"It's alright, my dog acted the same way around snow, and especially new people."
Chiro glanced up, momentarily distracted from trying to pull his dog away from the girl. She seemed to like him, which was nice since a lot of people were afraid of larger dogs. Eddie wasn't huge or anything, but he was considered a big dog, and he liked to bark at anything and anyone he found entertaining, which threw many people off, sending them in the other direction from fear. He was relieved to know she wasn't afraid. He wouldn't intentionally hurt a fly.
His eyes suddenly were drawn to hers as he realized something suddenly. Wait. Had she just spoken to him and not just to his dog? She could see him? He glanced around, the people nearby shoving carelessly past them. A little girl came over and patted Eddie on the head before her mother pulled her away, telling her not to pet dogs without any owner around. But, how did the mother not know that this other girl wasn't the owner? Unless...
"Are you invisible, too?" Chiro asked, not bothering with beating around the bush. If she was, he needed to know. How many others were there that were like him, dead, invisible, and wandering aimlessly? His expression brightened if only a little at the thought of there being others like him, others that could see him even though nobody else could. He wondered if there were normal people who could seem him, too, but shook that thought away for another time.
The moment the word girlie was out of the young, white haired man’s mouth, Kacia’s eyebrows shot up in an uncharacteristic expression on her normally blank face. She turned her head to stare at him with surprised eyes but he was already walking away. “Did he just call me girlie?” Her voice was hitched a bit in agitation from its basic monotone but if the infuriating ninja was leaving then she should just let it roll off. With a release of breath, her body relaxed to its previous posture until the insane man came running back up babbling about being seen before flicking, yes flicking, Nadia on the forehead. Once more her body stiffened and she yanked the cigarette from her mouth, poising it in her fingers as if to jab it towards him. “Call me girlie then flick my friend? I’m making you a walking ash tray.” Muttering this under her breath, she quickly made her way towards him with the full intention of burying the burning stick into his forehead, the flyers she had been holding for Nadia now scattered to the wind just as the other stack creating a whirl of angry blue paper that accented her approach.
Nadia winced as the young man called Kacia girlie. She had a feeling her friend wouldn’t take it very well but her attention was distracted by his question before he walked off. “That was…odd. And yes. Yes he did call you girlie.” Turning her head around to look at Kacia, she couldn’t help but giggle at her expression and tone of voice. “What was that about invisible people though? Another smart mouth remark or a new term for spirits maybe? I haven’t heard of it before.”
The crunch of snow alerting the approach of someone behind her, Nadia turned around to see the white haired man come running back up to them as he gasped out if they could see him or not. “Just take a deep breath and-What was that for!” Nadia’s tone rose in surprise at the sudden flick to her forhead. What was he going on about? And why was Kacia muttering?!....Kacia….
Eyes widening as she caught onto her friend’s advance toward the young man, Nadia quickly grabbed the girl’s cigarette wielding arm before wrapping the other around her friend’s neck in a head lock. “Kacia! It’s alright! Breathe! And you…” directing her gaze toward the stranger as she held back her friend, she continued, “Of course we can see you. Why wouldn’t we? And do please relax and catch your breath, you’ll catch a cold in this weather.”
Rinnku was elated. Finally, after days and days without human communication, someone could see him! "Oh God, it's true, you really can see me. Tell me, can everyone else see me too? They sure act like they don't...but, is it some kind of joke? Of course, it'd be a really bad joke if it was..." he muttered, too excited to make himself completely audible. "But you can see me, both of you. You can even feel it when I touch you, and I-I...I say, are you alright? I...didn't mean to upset you. I've been hitting people all day and no one has payed me a second glance..."
He tucked his jacket tighter around him, and extended one of his hands out towards the girls. "I'm Rinnku, by the way. Rinnku Aure, and until a few seconds ago, I was convinced that no one in the world even noticed I exist."
Kaylee looked at him. "Alright then." She said walking across the hill. "After that, we need to get you a jacket. You look like a cat barf on you before you got mugged by a bear and thrown in a landfill." She said bluntly as she started to walk; almost ignoring the person behind them as they walked. It was about five or so minutes in silence as they made their way up to a Starbucks. She walked inside; not bothering to even look behind her until she was fully in. The smell of coffee wavered through the warm, heated air. As soon as she walked in, the people glared at her and the room almost started to fill with whispers as they all glared on at her.
She looked back at the boy. "What you want?" She demanded almost in an angry voice. The rooms even filled with more whispers then; still glaring at her. "Who is she talking to?" "Oh, its the rich snobby bitch whom took out the business at Chuck-E-cheese..." "What is she doing here?" "Oh God, its her; and look, shes going crazy, talking to no one." Though, Kaylee ignored almost everything, just focusing on the boy.
Kuroki stared down at the clothes he was wearing before looking back up. "This is how I usually dress! It's not that bad..." he sighed, knowing he wouldn't be agreed with, so he just went quiet. He followed her in silence, it was about 5 minutes of walking past people, in silence. Kuroki wondered if maybe she was annoyed at him, or couldn't bare to be seen with him. Do I really look that bad...? he thought, looking again at the clothes he was wearing and doing up the buttons on his white shirt. He smiled to himself. That looks better, right? as they came into the coffee shop, a smell of rich coffee hit them, it was a nice smell, but if you stayed there for too long it could become quite intoxicating. There was also a wave of silence, followed by little whispered comments like; "Who is she talking to?" "Oh, its the rich snobby bitch whom took out the business at Chuck-E-cheese..." "What is she doing here?" "Oh God, its her; and look, shes going crazy, talking to no one."
None of the comments seem to have any effect on the girl though. She just ignored them and waited for Kuroki to tell her what he wanted. "Hot chocolate, please" he gave a small innocent smile to her, wondering if that would calm her down a bit. She seemed agitated, either by Kuroki or by the constant whispering, Kuroki wanted to go and shout at them all to shut up, but it would be pointless, by their comments, they couldn't see him. Therefore, they wouldn't hear him either. He stared at the girl in front, wondering what she is actually like, weather she really is a 'rich, snobby, bitch' as most people called her. But no ones like that are they? He was sure that she was a nice person on the inside. Being rich doesn't automatically mean your snobby or a bitch. "Just shut up..." Kuroki whispered under his breath, he didn't actually realize he did it.
Therefore, they wouldn't hear him either. He stared at the girl in front, wondering what she is actually like, weather she really is a 'rich, snobby, bitch' as most people called her. But no ones like that are they? He was sure that she was a nice person on the inside. Being rich doesn't automatically mean your snobby or a bitch. "Just shut up..." Kuroki whispered under his breath, he didn't actually realize he did it.
I agree with Tabris. I wish your family health, and the chance to grow together through this. You have my best wishes.
Re: [OOC] The Invisable.
I'm so sorry to hear that Straight. I really hope your mum makes it out okay. I have faith she will. We'll miss you, but good luck.
Re: [OOC] The Invisable.
yap! just like what tabris said; so anyone could pair up with anyone... its kind of a free rp... =_=
like, if someone becomes inactive or something; then the person who is active could just walk away and meet up with someone else. :P
Re: [OOC] The Invisable.
I can probably answer this, all people who can see the invisible can see ALL of the people who are invisible.
Re: [OOC] The Invisable.
Quick question - can any of the char's who are mortal see us or just one? and if so how do I know which char can see me?
Re: [OOC] The Invisable.
There you go ^^ Sorry about the blank one...forgot to add the name XD How stupid am I?
Re: [OOC] The Invisable.
If no one else wants/takes the invisible boy then could I have him too? That is if it's okay to have more than one character, I can do two with ease to be honest, but only if no one wants or takes him. I just wanna get the RP started XD
Re: [OOC] The Invisable.
I have submitted a char for the last of the invisible girls and I hope it is okay.
