Description

Abigail stands a respectable 5'5 with a fit, and rather curvy physic. Her hair is a medium length wavy dark brown, with an almost red hue to it, and is almost always pinned up. Abigail dresses in modern enough dresses, but does not wear gowns that are considered particularly high fashion. With high cheek bones, round hazel eyes, and a rather pretty face, Abigail could have easily found herself a well to do husband, perhaps even titled, had that been the lifestyle she wished to live, or for her less than charming personality with most men of easily bruised egos. A prim dresser when in London, and neat but practical when out of the country tends to best describe her wardrobe.

Personality

Tenacious, smart, and bearing a blade like tongue, Abigail is a woman not to be cowed, and goes after what she wants with a type of stubborn conviction. A kind enough soul and loyal, few people have actually gotten close enough to Abigail to know these qualities, due to her less than charitable reputation in London. Having always been a more solitary soul, Abigail has always had a bit of a rough go at making friends, at least those who are more than passing acquaintances. Abigail usually hides this social awkwardness, behind a wall of boisterous wit and shining superior education.

Equipment

Languages; Abigail speaks and reads: Latin, French, Spanish, German, and bits and pieces of Indian. All of which come in quite handy in her field.

She also has extensive knowledge of History, and is a skilled map reader.

History

Abigail is the daughter of the once famous Dr. Archibald Avery, explorer and Oxford professor. The family traveled extensively, and Abigail herself was born in India, as well as spent most her childhood abroad. When she turned thirteen however, Abigail was sent to an English finishing school in London that her father's income (while no gentry fortune was still a respectable savings) to help improve her prospects and make friends. All this did however, was make her continue with her scholarly pastimes, and become far less interested in the boring English school girls around her, as the gigglely bunch were far less interesting to Abigail compared to India, or Egypt, or Even the Caribbean, and it was nearly impossible to find her without her nose stuck in a history book.

When her father died three years ago, Abigail became obsessed with her ambitions of having a respected career as a Historian and even landing a job as a professor. In Victorian London though, it is damn near impossible for a woman to break through the Good Old Boy system, which is especially strong among the gentry, leaving a bit of distain there on that front, and it’s becoming more and more apparent that it will take a miracle for Abigail to achieve her dream. Currently, the best Abby can do is as an assistant to Historian Dr. Preston Harvey, with the only real perks being able to reads some of the texts when sorting them.
