Introduction

The kingdom only really knows of the palace of the royal family from the outside- a large monument set to stand until the end of time. What goes on inside is entirely the buisiness of the king. But within the walls is a completely different story than the outside. While peace seems so set in stone on the outside, it's shakey among the younger members of the castle. Between princes, princesses, and attendants, the number of under eighteen triumph against the the adults, and havock threatens to disrupt the castle at its foundation each day. As much as the more aged members of the palace try, though, the secrets of the palace are too interesting for the young minds to pass up, and the forgotten past of Zephyran the land they all call home, is begining to be unearthed from the ancient castle. Is the past something better left lost?

Need to knows

The king, King Marcus Zephyr, has many children within his castle. Many of which happen to be his own; the oldest children- 17-19 -of his first wife, Julia, the middle children- 10-15 -of his second wife, Rachel, and the youngest- all under ten -of his current wife, Moiraine. All the royal family bears the name of Zephyr, as it is a part of the name of their country. Besides the princes and princesses, though, are the attendants, who, as even princes and princesses need someone their age around, are majority kids and teens as well. It's easy to tell the royals from the attendants though. But then again, it's easy to tell the Royals from anyone. The royal family seems to consist mostly of the same look; dark-colored eyes, and light-colored eyes, as the king has black straight hair and pale blue eyes. It seems that, though occasionally there is variation, each social class had a different look. Nobles and royals have dark hair, though the pale eye colors seem to be reserved for the royal family. But it seems that the lower you go down in the classes, the lighter the hair color, and the darker the eyes. And with the attendants, the variation of looks within palace walls varies very much. But there's another variation to worry about- powers. With the recent Power outbreak, its a mystery as to what a person really can do, and what they really are, depending on the line they come from.

Bedrooms- Each person in the house, regardless of role, gets their own suite with a queen-size bed, private bathroom, and everything else they'd desire.
Living Room- A grand room with plenty of comfortable furniture, book cases, and plenty of space to roam around.
Kitchen- Filled mostly with cooks, counters, and ovens, it's quite crampt, though a brilliant place to hide while playing hide-and-go-seek.
Garden- Lots of colorfully cut shrubbery and exotic flowers decorate winding pathways in the back of the palace. Some low hedges even gather to make up a complicated maze, where some even need help just to escape out the same way they went in.
The Lake- Not large, but plenty enough, near the edge of the palace grounds. It seems like something out of a fairy tail, with clear water and just enough tree cover.
The Fountain- A grand fountain sits at the front of the palace, just before the steps to the doors. It's large and beautiful, and an exelent place to swim, if you don't get caught.
The Attic- Dark and terrifying, no one likes to go up there by choice. But it holds many secrets, many are frightening.
The Basement- You'd swear it was haunted if you ever did see it. But secrets of the kingdom's past lurk down there. All you have to do is look through the cells of what used to be a dungeon.

The power and species variations-
Elemental Control (control over one of the four elements, for anyone)
Fifth Element Control (the ability to see ghosts, for all but Peasant Line)
Silver Tounge (the ability to understand and speak any language, including animals, Middle Class line and up)
Form Shifter (the ability to take the form of any living thing, Nobles and Royals only)
Manipulation (the ability to read, controle, and manipulate a person's thoughts, Noble and Royal only)
Illusionist (the ability to make another person see, feel, and believe whatever situation you put before them, Noble and Royal only)
Lycan (the ability, or curse, of transformation into a wolf. Control in wolf form is difficult, and during the full moon, shifting is involuntary, Peasant only)

Perrin had himself rested down on the couch, head against one arm rest and feet stretched out to hit against the other. An open hardcover lay open on his chest, something he had been reading previous to falling asleep. He had always had nothing to do within the castle rather than read or play the piano, as he had been so used to the buisy life of a peasant until he was seven. The transition had not been easy. It still wasn't easy. He still woke each morn early and went outside, despite the fact that it was no longer a nessisary act. He just had a feeling the lazy life of a prince wasn't for him. He almost wanted to run away, but that wasn't going to work out so well. He knew it.

Anna strolled down the halls of the palace humming a cheery tune as she peered into rooms to see what everyone was doing. Her loveley white dress dragged elegantly behind her. Anna knew better than to be nosey but she could not help herself. All the princes and princesses were busy minding their own business and tending to their needs. Boredom got the better of Anna and she needed to socialize. She trotted into the living room to see Perrin resting on the couch. He seemed lifeless and depressed, which was not really a surprise to Anna. Perrin had never really seemed content or happy living in the palace.

"Hello, Little Brother!" greeted Anna, sitting on the armrest of the couch, "Why don't you play me some lovely music on the piano, you know how much I love to hear you play." She hoped her request might cheer him up. His disposition always upset her. Perrin's depression had bothered Anna since he became part of the royal family. What bothered her most was that she could never change his way of thinking. If she wanted, she could force him to be happy or read his thoughts but she loved her siblings too much to control them. As the oldest princess, she had to look out for her brothers and sisters. Her father and step-mother were always much too busy to tend to all the children.

Perrin's eyes flashed open, as he had been holding them closed. "Hmm?" His face showed surprise, blue eyes widened rather than being narrowed. No one really liked to deal with him that much. Most didn't approach him unless it was absolutely nessisary. His eyes trailed off to the side, narrowing once again, his brows drawn up towards the center. "O-oh. You're sure? I suppose i could." He slowly lifted himself upright, rubbing at the side of his head. Even he didn't quite understand why he felt so uncomfortable making eye contact with his own family. Or, who were supposed to be his family. But he still felt lower than them- being of half peasant blood.

Drawing himself up, he closed the book that sat on his lap and placed it down with barely a sound on th coffee table. Perrin took a deep breath, then half-dragged himself across the room to sit at the piano. Laying his fongers on the keys hesitantly, he looked back shyly at Anna for reassurance of the act, though he clearly didn't need it.
