Introduction
A brief history of Hyrule.
Before time began, before spirits and life existed, three Golden Goddesseses descended from a distant nebula upon the chaos that was Hyrule. These three Golden Goddesses were Din, the Goddess of Power; Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom; and Farore, the Goddess of Courage. The Golden Goddesses each infused the land of Hyrule with with their own powers. Din, with her strong, flaming arms, cultivated the land and created the red earth. Hence, she created the very earth from which life in Hyrule would spring. Nayru poured her wisdom onto the earth and gave the spirit of law to the world, thus establishing order in a formerly chaotic world. She was responsible for the creation of the laws of the universe, including the laws of science and wizardry that would govern Hyrule and the universe at large. Farore, with her rich soul, produced all life forms that would uphold the law established by Nayru. As the mother of all life in the universe, she created the beings that would walk the earth, fly in the sky, and swim in the waters.
The three Golden Goddesses, their labors completed, departed for the heavens from a parallel dimension connected to the land of Hyrule, a realm of midday golden skies and a place where the spirits could roam free. A temple dedicated to the element of light was set at the heart of this Golden Land and the Goddesses departed from the point atop the pyramidal temple, leaving behind a symbol of their power at the point atop the temple. This symbol, a golden triangle composed of three smaller triangles united to form one, came to be known as the Triforce, a relic of omnipotent and omniscient power. The Triforce, when mastered in its entirety, would grant its wielder his or her heart's desire for the duration of his or her natural life. It served as a balance of the three forces: Power, Wisdom and Courage. Only one with all three forces in balance in his or her heart would be able to wield the united Triforce and use its true power to govern all. The Golden Land of the Triforce came to be known in the land of Hyrule as the Sacred Realm.
To seal the gateway to the Sacred Realm, the Ancient Sages, the appointed wielders of the powers of the world's elements by the Goddesses, crafted a sword capable of repelling even the Triforce's magic, as they knew that the Triforce could not judge between good and evil and could thus be abused by one of impure heart. This sword, forged and infused with the power to banish evil itself, came to be known as the Blade of Evil's Bane, or more commonly, the Master Sword. The sword would serve as the key to the Sacred Realm as well as the primary weapon against those of evil intent. The sword was infused into the magical Pedestal of Time and the mighty Temple of Time was constructed around the Pedestal of Time by the Ancient Sages, with the assistance of the Oocca race. The Sages then sealed the Grand Chamber of the Master Sword with a mighty stone barrier known as the Door of Time, which was then locked by a seal that could only be broken by one possessing three magical jewels, the Spiritual Stones, and the powerful instrument known as the Ocarina of Time. Each of these items were then given to the four major races of Hyrule.
For many ages following the creation of Hyrule, each of the races of the land formed their own governments and lived in relatively peaceful relations. However, knowledge of the mythical Sacred Realm and the all-powerful Triforce contained within spread across the land, eventually destabilizing the realm to the point of war. One tribe, a group of dark magicians known as the Dark Interlopers, crafted an ultimate weapon, the Fused Shadow, and attempted to use it to seize control of the Sacred Realm and by extension take the Triforce for their own.
This set off an arms race of sorts, with each of the other tribes of the land feeling threatened not only by the Dark Interlopers themselves, but also by the threat of any one tribe attaining the Triforce, which could give them total dominance over all other races. Thus, the first major war in Hyrule's history broke out across the realm, with the Dark Interlopers and other races declaring war on each other to attain the Spiritual Stones and the fabled Ocarina of Time, the rumored necessary keys to enter the Sacred Realm.
The Golden Goddesses, Din, Nayru and Farore, intervened when the war was on the verge of destroying the world they had created. They ordered four Light Spirits to confiscate the Fused Shadow and banish the Dark Interlopers to a land of perpetual twilight. The Light Spirits obeyed their orders, and the Dark Interlopers were driven into the prison world of the Twilight Realm, where they evolved into the Twili and grew into a more peaceful and humbled race. The Fused Shadow was shattered into four pieces, one of which was kept by the Dark Interlopers and their descendants. The other three were hidden across the land of Hyrule by the Light Spirits.

The Gerudo King of Thieves, Ganondorf, then helped to negotiate an end to the destructive war amongst Hyrule's other races and helped to install the Hylian Royal Family as the ruling family of a new monarchy that would encompass the entire realm, with each of the races' individual governments still intact, but ultimately loyal to the new Royal Family of Hyrule. The new King of Hyrule unified the country beneath one banner. Even so, the Gerudo King who had helped make this possible was plotting to one day overthrow the new government and take the wish-granting Triforce for his own.
After a child named 'Link' opened up the doorway to the Sacred Realm, Ganon killed the king and took the Triforce of Power for his own, plunging the world into seven years of darkness. The races of the world worked hard together to stay the tide of evil... This is the tale of what happened -After- Link pulls the Master Sword from its pedestal. The Princess has fled to an unknown secret location, and Ganon's forces march on the capital.
We know that the capital falls, that the whole world is turned upside down. But the people did not just lie down and die! Join the fight, and see if you can survive the seven years of turmoil!
The Races
Goron - The Sturdy Gorons' live on the slopes of Death Mountain. Female and male gorons look generally the same to outsiders, so it's hard to tell them apart at all; Needless to say, they are kind to all who visit they're home.
Kokori - The child-like race of the Kokori live in the Lost Woods: An area of the world that is unforgiving to outsiders. They are reclusive and dwell under the protection of the great Deku Tree, living forever as children of the wood.
Hylian - Tall, pointy-eared inhabitants of Castle Town, and the current ruling race of the world.
Zora - Lean, fish-like people who dwell at the source of all water for Hyrule.
You may play a female Gerudo. Why only female? The Gerudo tribe only has one male child every onehundred years. Since Ganon is alive, there isnt going to be any other male Gerudo in this game. Sadly, however, the Gerudo Woman are controlled by Ganon via the gems on they're foreheads. Therefore, this is a purely evil race until one of the other race's breaks the gem upon the forehead of your particular Gerudo woman.
For more information on the races, go to zelda.wikia.com
Magic
Magic is present in the Zelda universe. You may have magic, though it is purely 'elemental', if you would, and hard to use. If your a Zoran, you could say you have the power to call a mist. If your a Goron, you could say you can 'smell' the ore in the rocks (Which you eat). If your Kokori, you could seem to 'disapear' from other races if your in a wooded area. Hylians have holy-like magic, used to create lights or heal small cuts. Gerudo's can control the wind, creating sandstorms'.
Combat
Lets face it, people. We arent all as strong as Link. A Darknut could wipe out a troop of ten soldiers alone, where it only takes one Link to kill it. However, there is a reason behind that; Link is the Hero of Time. But, some races have better chances against certain types of enemies. For instance, a goron could take on a Darknut with his bare hands, because of his naturally hardy skin and superior strength. A Zora would be almost impossible to kill underwater. A hylian is just well-adaptable, with no particular strength besides their numbers and high spirit.
So be reasonable when it comes to these things.

OOC Notes
Prelude.
The sun crept slowly over the horizon, the first rays of golden light illuminating the Castle far above the town, a beckon of white and blue over the sleepy town. Inside the castle, things were coming to life. The cooks’ assistants started the fires for the bakery and rolled fresh dough. The maids began to dust the mantles and window sills, making sure the castle was clean. The guards got dressed for the day, and marched out to patrol the walls and roads of the castle and town. The Knights dressed in their ceremonial armor, and went to guard the King’s chamber.
Everything was quiet and peaceful, and the same as every other day. Down in the town, the people began to wake up. Bedpans were emptied, the woman headed out with buckets on their heads to get water from the fountains. Wild dogs ran to hide in the allies for the day, waiting for night to again rule the streets.
Loudly, chains creaking, the drawbridge slowly lowered until it slammed into place, resting in the groove cut into the stones especially for it. The moat bellow was gurgling pleasantly, flowing at a steady rate. A couple of townsfolk went out and sat on the bridge, tossing their fishing lines into the moat to see what they could catch. A group of goron merchants, carrying large baskets on their back, trumped over the bridge and into the market.
Yes, a normal day. Jaime, Guard of Hyrule, was leaning on his spear, observing the market for thieves that wouldn’t appear. He sighed, and looked out over the roofs, over the walls and guard towers, to the sky beyond. It was dark on the horizon, like a storm was approaching. Good,he thought. We could go with some rain.
It had been a slight dry spell. Of course, it was summer, but then, he liked the rain. It was calming. And it meant he could go inside, and not stand out here in the sun all day. Suddenly, another guard approached him. The plum on his helmet was purple, which meant he was the Captain of the city guard. Jaime quickly straightened up, and saluted. “Sir.”
The Captain, Meru, saluted back. “At ease, Jaime. Anything out of the ordinary this morning?”
Jaime shook his head, chainmail coif jingling. “No, sir.”
Meru grunted, crossing his arms on his chest and looking around the Market. “Good. There’s going to be a parade later today. The King wants to hold a celebration for Ganon, so he, Ganon, and the Knights’ are all going to be coming on out. Anyways, just make sure that your ready to hold the people back and keep a lane clear later, alright?”
Jaime nodded. With that, Meru gave a wave and walked off to his own post, on the walls over the gatehouse.
He closed his eyes, leaning on his spear again. The sounds of the market rushed to him, filling his ears. People yelling prices, the sound of children playing in the streets. There was the rumble of thunder in the distance, as the storm grew closer. The fountain’s water softly fell, like music, into the marble basin. Somewhere, a musician was practicing his art, and the soft sound of a flute wavered above the rest.
Yes, Just another peaceful day in Castletown.

Re: [OOC] The Legend of Zelda: Rise of Ganon
Nobody get jumpy. I just wanted to post the introduction, because I'd finished it. I wont be posting anything else, and I will be waiting for more people to make their characters.
One of the things I'd like to point out, however, is that we will be starting out in Castletown. Your character does -not- need to be there, however. Lets say you play a Kokiri; You wouldnt be there. They live in the Lost Woods, and die if they leave. However, when Ganon gets his powers, the effects are felt everywhere; Monster life would increase, maybe you'd feel some angst.
And another thing; Ganon was actually recieved as a hero by the people of Hyrule! Why? Because he had helped instate the current King and put an end to the civil war. He is now one of the king's advisors, believe it or not.
Finally, I did make up Captain Meru. I wanted to have someone in charge early on, but I didnt like the idea of it being Jaime himself. If you dispute this course of action, Its never too late to tell me. I will edit the post and take him out, turn him into just a courier.
That being said, I'm glad for all the interest this RP has generated and I hope to see you all in the game!

Re: [OOC] The Legend of Zelda: Rise of Ganon
Just posting to say that I'll be following this thread for a while to see if I can join. ^^' I'd like to, but I want to make sure my schedule is compatible first.
Re: [OOC] The Legend of Zelda: Rise of Ganon
You may have no more than three characters, but please remember to keep it realistic!
Re: [OOC] The Legend of Zelda: Rise of Ganon
"Link frolicking around in Hyrule"....dunno why but that made me laugh. really hard. XD
I'm totally joining this! I absolutely loved the Ocarina of Time and this seems like a sturdy roleplay. How many characters can we have? I'm stuck between choosing between a Hylian and a Zora.

Re: [OOC] The Legend of Zelda: Rise of Ganon
I will be playing Ganon and the Princess in the few times that they will pop up, but thats just it; They will be few and far between.
Expect to see more of Ganon than the princess, however. She's in hiding for a reason, though in the later years of the occupation, Shiek will be around alot. (Shiek being Zelda disguised.)
And thanks, I kinda like the first theme myself. I wait for your character!

Re: [OOC] The Legend of Zelda: Rise of Ganon
To be honest, the first theme is the original Holy-crud-Ganon's-around-the-corner and has an eerie feel, the second theme sounds Link frolicking around in Hyrule (maybe even for the first time with an epic-glint in his eye 'cause he's gonna go lay down a bit beating on Mister Gerudo). The THIRD one would be my choice, just because it sounds tragic. AND it's from the original Zelda: A Link to the Past's Castle theme, just revamped. It's tragic because of the King's death, and then it leads off into quicker, eerie piano piece that makes me think of Ganon entering the Realm of Light.
Well, that's my two-cents anyway. I love all those themes!
AND I'm definitely joining this RP, are all the characters going to be original, or will someone play Link/Princess/Ganon?

[OOC] The Legend of Zelda: Rise of Ganon
Greetings and welcome to the Rise of Ganon! Post your questions/concerns here.
To start out, Lemme post this song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfzsrKf-7fw
That's the theme for Hyrule Castle in Twilight Princess.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldthDW1x ... re=related
That's a remix of the Ancient Hero song found in the intro for Windwaker.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7P2HNic7JjI
That's the song played at the end of Windwaker, titled 'Farewell, Hyrule King'.
Which of these do you think would fit the first major moment in this RP more?
Note: The first major moment is the death of the King, which then results in Princess Zelda fleeing Castletown with Ganon chasing her, a couple of hours before Ganon enters the Realm of Light and gains his super-human powers.
