Description
©2007-2010 *wallace Name: Alanna Damodred
Age: 27
Race: Human
Significant Relations: Bodyguard and cousin to Min and Alyssia Damodred, close friend of Dannyl Jeanson.
Physical Description: Alanna is a strikingly beautiful woman, but she does nothing to advertise this fact. Her long and flowing blonde hair is not styled, simply left to hang naturally about her upper back, often tangled or unkempt after a fight; her bright sky blue eyes are most often concealed behind a pair of dark shades that she sports over her tanned features, and her lips seldom bear anything more than a simple lip-gloss to promote their plump and kissable nature (note that Alanna would sooner punch you than kiss you, in most cases, so perhaps this is a good thing). She has a slim and well proportioned figure, but wears only black suits with kevlar beneath, completely obscuring her body, and understating her beyond belief - but this is all something that Alanna doesn't really give a damn about. Her job is to shoot the bad guys, and if that job is made easier by sacrificing her 'ogling' value, then ogling be damned.
Personality: Alanna is a somewhat snarky and sarcastic individual, enjoying taking bites and stabs at people outside of her circle of association when the moment arises. She is extremely intolerant of incompetence and idiocy, and is quick to show anyone who falls short of her expectations the more personal side of her boot. That being said, when on duty, Alanna is as harsh and brutal as the job requires, often entirely emotionally detached from who/what she is shooting.
Skills and Talents:- Trained and practised in the use of most firearms.
- Physically fit and strong, with high endurance.
- Trained in hand-to-hand combat, both unarmed and with bladed and blunt weapons (i.e. sword, knife, quarterstaff)
- Very impressive reflexes.
Abilities:Elemental Manipulation: Traditionally, an Everian mage can only master a single element, and maintain a low level of ability with the others. The same is true for Alanna, and her chosen element is Water. Using this power Alanna can draw on the moisture from the air around her and form it into deadly spikes of ice, forceful torrents of water, or nigh on impenetrable bubbles for protection - amongst other Water based abilities. Alanna
cannot manipulate the water inside another living being, as the skin forms a barrier to magic, though were she to place her hand on an open wound of significant proportions, she could.
Pure Arcane: Everian magic also enables the user to manipulate mana in its purest form, described by some particular individuals as 'purple', while others refer to it rather more properly as 'arcane' energy. This allows the wielder to control these fluctuating energies, forming forcefields, pure energy blasts, and the like - though requiring less energy from the mage, as the mana does not need to be focused, arcane attacks and defences tend to be weaker than more refined abilities.
Weapons:- 9mm pistol
- Assault rifle
- Shotgun
- Retractable steel quarterstaff
- Rod of Eclipse: This artifact was named for its dark heart, the enchantment on it capable of absorbing all energy that touches it and the immediate area around it. As such, it is always surrounded by a small aura of pitch blackness, and can only be wielded in a gloved hand - as it absorbs light and heat energy.
- Amulet of Minds: This amulet prevents anything from directly affecting the mind of the bearer.
- Absorb Crystal: Similar to the Rod of Eclipse, this crystal absorbs energy, with the difference that it does it only at will, and can redirect that energy anywhere, in any form, including power for magic. Often carried into battle with full charge, and used to avoid the depletion of the mage's power.
Alanna glided into the bar, her arms clasped - as usual - around the large leather bound tome that she wrote in at every opportunity. To her side was a bag containing her writing kit and other smaller books, and on her wrist was a turtle bracelet that was in reality a mid strength angreal. The ornaments in her brown hair were mostly ter'angreal themselves, each with a unique purpose that only she knew. She sat down at an empty table and placed her book down in front of her, awaiting service.
Alanna sighed, it seemed that she would have to call the barkeep over herself. Some allowances had to be made in these lands, the people didn't know how Aes Sedai should be properly treated, she had to remember that. With a wave of her hands, she called a barmaid over and ordered a glass of wine, before laying open the large tome and taking out a pen, with which she began writing in a careful and neat hand.
Alanna looked up with a start, staring towards the door in shock before hastily standing and packing her things away, picking up her book and hurrying into the back room, leaving her unfinished drink. Once out of sight she channeled flows of spirit, and opened a silverly slash in front of her, that formed into a gateway that would take her away. She stepped through, closing the gateway behind her, and was gone without a trace.
Alanna Stepped into the bar, appearing in a ripple of air as reality warped around her. Her hair was lightly dusted with snow and ice, she had been in the Himalayas moments ago, and was wrapped up in suitable clothing - a fur coat, gloves, and hat. "Ah... that's nice and warm." she said, discarding those items. She now stood in a simple shirt and trousers, and took a seat on a barstool.
Alanna 's eyes widened "I haven't been here five minutes, and already somebody has exploded?" she exclaimed, darting forwards from where she sat and making weaving motions with her palms. She wove a complex web, Aiedai's pure healing, Synd's purging fire, Diellin's protecting wards. She contained the radiation within a shield, stopping its spread, before releasing Synd's fire. It was no ordinary fire, but burned the very essence of the area within, combined with Aiedai's healing it purified the air of the radiation, saving the lives of the oblivious fools within the bar. Alanna now stood weakened, panting at the complexity of those weaves.
Alanna sighed "Damn terrorists." she muttered
Alanna grinned at Cryoface "Hey, just acting on my own interests. After all, I am included within 'everyone in the bar'" she pointed out "I'm Alanna, a battlemage for the Damodred. And that was the Will of the Seven. With enough knowledge of the powers of the Seven, you can figure out how to do pretty much anything."
Alanna Stepped. The air of the bar rippled, and Alanna stepped, seemingly from thin air, into the middle of the bar. Her long coat was tightly wrapped around her, and her blonde hair lightly dusted with snow - hinting that where she had come from was perhaps a little chillier than anywhere nearby. She made her way to the front of the bar and smiled at Fletcher "Evening, give me something warm. Damn cold in the himalayas this time of year."
Alanna chuckled lightly "Really? And here I was thinking that little miss 'I'll sleep with the first person who smiles at me' was the holder of a degree in philosophy." she said, rolling her eyes "Don't mind at all, after all - I don't appear to have paid you."
Alanna took a deep drink from the mug Fletcher had handed her, enjoying the feeling of warmth spreading through her "Damn. I should have stepped back here for a drink more often during that little escapade."
Alanna chuckled "I've no idea where your mind might be wandering. I was hunting yetis, if you must know."
Alanna smirked "I must agree. And as a side point, I could rip you in half as well." she commented to Karly
Alanna placed a hand on Karly's shoulder "You see, some of us have very little patience for idiots, sluts... you get the picture, right? Do prove us wrong if you feel like it, otherwise just smile and nod."
(( Please, can we eat her QB? She oh so very much deserves it o.o ))
...............................
Alanna lost her train of thought....
Alanna leant back in her seat, trying to remember what she'd been talking about
Alanna approached the bar, the wind outside disturbing her white jacket as she walked toward the door. Not being in the mood for opening doors, she Stepped through the door, disappearing and reappearing on the other side of the door. Stepping had to be her most useful ability, in everyday situations at least. "Yo. Vampire, you tending?"
Alanna Stepped into the bar, her white jacket stirring in the remnants of a breeze. It was always somewhat windy in Varlon, but she had to visit every now again, just to keep up appearances with those damn gods. In the ripple of reality that flowed outwards from where she had Stepped, she made her way to the front of the bar and ordered a drink from a (only slightly) bemused barkeep. He saw weirder things.
Alanna "Afternoon, but I'd appreciate you faced me when you were talking out of your ass." she replied to Fletcher.
