a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Moonscar

Description

The image is not mine. It will be taken down if asked.

Age/Date of Birth: 26, December 18th

Gender: Female

Race/Ethnicity: Avrelle/Pakechan

Appearance: Avia is a tall woman with a very ample figure and a tiny waist. Her curves are radical, and she is prone to wearing clothing that only exaggerates the fact. Her hair is now long enough to touch her knees, though she normally wears it up in an extravagant bun held by red chopsticks, or she has it loose around her shoulders. She has an abundance of scars that she hides with a skillful amount of carefully applied makeup. Her favorite color seems to be red, as that is the most popular color seen in anything she wears and owns.

One other thing about Avia. Her bones are hollow and slim, and there are many other little factors that go into her weight, which, surprisingly, only adds up to a stunning seventy pounds. Impossible?
Quite.

Equipment/Weapons:

-PinKnives: Exactly as they sound, they are hair pins. Shiny, silvery things. Very pointy. They are also throwable knives.

-The Quellazaire: An odd weapon? Perhaps, but for Avia, it comes in handy, especially with a pack of "special" cigarettes, made only for assassination purposes. Poison smoke works wonders.

-Avrillian Longsword

History

Avia, young as she is, has lived many lives.

Not literally, but the experiences she has lived through may as well make the statement true. Once an assassin, raised by none other than her parents in the art of murder, she was put into a group of children raised the same as herself. The sons and daughters of a forbidden art, used to raise money to clear the debt of their guardians. Their leader was Ateles, a young man who had come from a town far away, unlike the rest of them, who had grown up together. Upon first meeting them, Avia's family hated him. She hated him, too.

However, as time went on, and events passed, she found a fondness in him that she found in no other man.

This was probably the worst choice she could have ever made in her life, for when the assassination group was found out, they scattered, and Ateles disappeared. While they all regrouped, he did not come back. Caitus, Lycaon, Vipera, they all said he was dead. He would have come back by now if he was not dead. He would have found them, but no. He never came back. He had died.

In the following years, what was left of the group kept in contact, but went their separate ways. Avia had always been a dancer and an entertainer, tricking men into her favor before she poisoned their drinks and fled. Because of this, she joined a traveling circus to make money and get away from the law enforcement back in her homeland. She traveled worlds. She stayed in the circus for seven years, and in those seven years, her boss, a short, greasy, fat Frenchman, became more fond of her. She grew into a strong woman, and he admired that...however, she did not admire him. She tried to escape once she had paid off her dept, but with the help of various bodyguards, detained her and bound her to himself using magic. A tattoo of a gnarled magnolia tree, made up of the words of her contact, was printed on her skin, from her temple to her knee.

Somehow...she escaped. She fell into the lake and was saved by a brawler mage, Paul, and his dragon, Ichiro.

Months after, she found herself drinking in Gambit's bar with Drakus Flavaar. He offered her a job, which she desperately needed. A job as a dragon keeper. It payed well. Of course, she accepted, though she was rightly drunk at the time.

Another few months passed, and so did tragedies and joys at the Flavaar residence. She found out what a cheat and a lie Drakus was, first deceiving Liz, one of his researchers, when they were younger, then mourning for his wife while courting another woman. She met a man made of diamond, and his name was Daniel. She hated him at first, but, just like Ateles, events passed and time went on, she became very fond of him. There was controversy in this. Daniel was a Sith, and his master was a cruel, horrible woman called Darth Widower. The witch attempted to kill Avia, and in doing so, killed a good friend of hers, Jorin. It was around this time that she met Lumierre, an elfen princess that was friends with Drakus. Later, Avia figured out they were more than friends. She created a strong bond with the elf. They went through many trials and tears and laughter together, and they continue to do so.

After the ordeal with Widower, a dragon was born, given to Avia to take care of. Lumierre had been there, and so had Liz and Drakus. She named the dragon Ese.

Eventually, Avia rid herself of the large tattoo, but four letters from the contract would not disappear. She found, as well, that the poison and the magic that bound her to the Frenchman had not left her. Only Alrion, Drakus' brother, knows this, and he has promised never to tell a soul. They did not need to know.

Now, there is a problem with Ezrael, who is Drakus' son. Through the events that deal with him, she has met Jasenga, a curse laid onto Kenji, and also Alrion's girlfriend, Eve, and then Sie, a drow woman, and countless other people.

However, as the months and horrible events passed, the time came when the Flavaar manor burned down on Ezrael's command. Everything Avia owned was burned with it, save for a few weapons. As she rode with the companions that Drakus and Alrion had gathered, she was given the chance to take Ezrael's second form into a diamond. Sie had the first shot, but it was thrown away. She and Alrion gave Avia the chance, and she took it.

What they did not know was that the truly evil Ezrael was the original one after all. He summoned a meteor down from space to hit Terra. She and Daniel boarded his spaceship in an attempt to destroy it before it landed. The weapons did not work, but Daniel had one thing left. He had a bomb. Knowing that his chances of living were higher than Avia's if the bomb went off, he shoved her inside of an escape pod, sent her on her way with a last teary goodbye, and sacrificed himself to stop the meteor. It worked. Daniel became a dead hero.

And he left Avia to wallow and drink away a life without him.

-ah. But...it really did not work out that. Things don't tend to be that simple in Avia's life. She was not left to wallow in her apartment and mope. Ezrael haunted her dreams from the dead, scarcely allowing her rest. And, one day in a drunken stupor, he visited her waking life from the world of the living. He had somehow attained a new body. One year after his, and Daniels, death, Drakus felt the need to revive one of the Ezrael's. The one she had before imprisoned.

After that, Ezrael had come to Avia, and only trouble followed.

So begins...

"Oh, no, I have a job I need to do, Adam. You think I don't have friends?" She waved at him. "Well, I don't. But I have acquaintances. People who owe me a favor here and there." She grinned. "So don't worry. You'll have some company."

She needed to stay with Sophie and Aiya in case those men came back. They weren't looking for Adam, as far as she knew, so having someone look after him for her wouldn't be a bad idea.

"Well if you need me, I'm going to go work." He made for the door. "Take care of Sophie, okay? A lot of hard work went into saving her. I'd be upset if she died."

Aiya was at the door of her room, peering out now at the pair.

"Nothing of the sort will happen," she said, following him. "Now, you wait up right there! You're not going out of my sight. At all. Actually, you're going to follow me."

_______________

Avia certainly did have connections, even if she had very little in the way of friends. One call later, Avia had given the woman the address to her apartment, and doing her best to keep Adam with her, she waited.

It wasn't too long (by some definitions of too long, if you accounted for 'stopping for a snack on the way and getting distracted by a TV in a store window' time in your definition of reasonable travel time) before the hired help arrived. Equipped with a veritable weapons-stand of bladed implements, Lyris' blue hair swayed gently as she made her way to the door of Avia's apartment and knocked.

Avia quickly made her way to the door, looking back at Adam, suspiciously, once before turning her back on him and looking through the peep-hole in the door.

"Ah. Good, good-" The door swung open. "Welcome! Thanks for coming. Really. You have no idea how difficult it is to find someone to babysit a diabolical evil genius with a robot arm at a reasonable price these days. Come in! Sit down. I'll brief you." She gestured to Adam. Who wasn't tied up. Who had his robot arm attached. Who was free roaming as the two of them. "This is Adam, this is who you'll be guarding. The hours are going to be long. He'll be working on something. I need you to, ah, watch him and make sure he doesn't try anything."

Adam let the mock-flattery go by unnoticed. Diabolical evil genius... Really, it was just silly. Everything he did was for science, and he hardly felt science was diabolical. More... Apathetic. "It's a pleasure to meet you," Adam said, offering out his good hand to shake, but his attention wasn't there.

Evil genius however... That was a title he could get behind. It held power, respect, and several other things he could really appreciate. He was so distracted that he didn't even pay attention to the conversation, instead fantasizing over what costume he would wear as he suppressed the masses with superior science and technology to enforce new world order.

It would definitely be red, for a start.

Lyris greeted Avia with a flourishing bow, her hair falling floppily forwards and then being flicked back up in the process. "Why, yes, I am Lyris! No, I'm not just the first random stranger that turned up at the door. Oh, I am? Well, damn." The silvis folded her arms, "If I'm playing security duty then I've got to point out that opening the door before checking who I was? Prooobably not a good idea."

The silvis waved her hand and grinned, "I mean, if you normally let heavily armed strangers into your flat without at least checking to see that they're the right heavily armed stranger, then that's your deal. But I wouldn't recommend it."

As she followed Avia inside, she gave Adam a look up and down. Robot arm, as Avia had said. She'd thought he would be taller though. She took his hand and shook it with a nod, "Sup."

Looking back to Avia as she went on with the brief, she nodded along up until the end. "Right. Right. Gotcha - one quick question though," she glanced across at the other woman, lowering her voice to murmur in her ear so that Adam wouldn't hear. "Is it gonna be obvious to someone not familiar with... evil genius robot stuff... if he's trying anything? Like... will there be a change in background music, or what?"

"Oh. No, that's fine. Really, that's fine. I wouldn't open the door if I thought I couldn't take care of whoever was on the other side to some extent." She flicked a hand dismissively. "Anyway, so, details..." She paused to listen to Lyris' question, biting her lip.

"Well, how's this? He started laughing about an invention this morning and threw a grenade out of my window. I'd think that's obvious enough. But..." She let her gaze skip to Adam for a moment, and it looked as though the woman aged several years in a second. "He's gone behind my back before. Used to think he was a pretty decent fellow. He might still be capable of the same thing. If he starts to make anything resembling a weapon, disable him. Immediately."

The word 'grenade' snapped Cydrok's attention back to reality. "That was a scientifi-" he cut himself off when he realized nobody cared, and sulked slightly, until Avia stopped speaking. "I'm going to need sharp implements and in a worst case scenario I will be using micro-welders and cutters," he helpfully informed the pair.

His arm folded in front of his chest leaving his robot arm dangling. "Of course, I won't have my prosthetic attached when working." Which in itself seemed a little odd. Why have a robot arm if he wasn't going to give it a hand or something that he could use instead of, well, a gun.

"Gotcha. 'course, now I expect he's gonna make a machine gun shaped like a tricycle, but I'll be sure to watch for anything resembling 'oh boy, I just got me a gun'-esque behaviour, too." Lyris replied, nodding her head solemnly.

"So by disable, how long-term we talking? Like, tie him up in a corner till you get back, or just clock him around the head and confiscate his toys, then hope he's learned his lesson by the time he wakes up?"

Lyris tilted her head thoughtfully before adding, "Which, incidentally, parallels my preferred methods for looking after children."

"I'd rather have him alive, but if you find yourself in a position where you don't have a lot of choice, by all means, do away with him in whatever manner. Murderous children don't get too many chances, y'know?" relayed Avia. She seemed to have no problem, none, whatsoever, saying this in front of Adam.

And when she heard he wouldn't be using his prosthetic, she frowned, because that was immediately suspicious. "What do you mean you won't be using it? You can't do everything one-handed, can you?" she asked the man. She let her eyes bore into Lyris', sending a silent signal that this was instantly something strange. "Well, alright, Adam, if you want it that way."

Adam gave Avia a funny look. "You actually think it takes three days to put up four air-tight walls with a light-source then make a room sterile with two hands?" he answered her pretty flatly. What did she think he was, an amateur? With two hands that would take a days effort tops! Then again, Adam usually worked ten plus hours at a time because he had no life.

"Unless my babysitter wants to pitch in with the chores," he added in a smug sounding voice that indicated he felt oh so clever at getting in on the child metaphor.

"Nah, I'm good." Lyris replied, shrugging her shoulders, "I mean, unless I'd get paid extra - though I should warn you anything involving me and putting stuff together is likely to result in the stuff falling apart again far sooner than it should."

She shrugged with a grin, "I'm better at breaking shit than making it."

Glancing back to Avia she nodded, "Duly noted. If he starts trying to detonate a nuke, I'll disable the fuck out of him. With these." she waved a couple of her knives that almost certainly hadn't been in her hands a second ago.

Avia gave Adam a deadpan. "That's wonderful, Adam. Won-der-ful." And changed her attention to Lyris. "If you do find yourself helping, let me know and we'll talk about funds after. Oh, and-" Her eyelids widened a tad once the blue-haired merc waved around the knives. "I do like your style. Knives used to be my thing, too."

She began to motion towards the door. "Well, I have things to attend to, and I don't mean to kick you out, but it's urgent. The whole reason I need you to look after Doctor One-ey over there."

A small basket of flowers, an envelope and a bar of chocolate sat outside the door to Avia's apartment. Inside the envelope with a thousand dollars and a heartfelt message.
"Avia,
I know that no amount of money can make up for everything that happened, but consider this repayment for not killing me when you had the chance.

As Avia came home, she knelt down and inspected the flowers. Upon reading the note, she was immediately suspicious of the flowers and searched them for anything dangerous. She had to wonder, though, what became of the man. Where was he now?

... was he close?

A confusing mixture of both anxiety and sweetness washed over her. "Oh, my," she whispered.

Ezrael was at the fire escape window, casually leaning in. He had, naturally, already seen something arrive for Avia and was awfully curious as to what it was. He had been away for 'sometime' at 'somewhere' and was now happy to be back. And naturally his first instinct was to gravitate to the very small number of people he knew. And on spying Avia he would immediately ask;

"So do you have a secret admirer?" with a cool smile as if they were old chums.

Avia's eyes flickered upward from the flowers with hardly any surprise. It had been some time, but she knew she would always expect Ezreal to be spying on her sometime, somewhere. It was an expectation she'd be having for the rest of her life, she was sure.

"Not so secret. It's an apology, more than anything," she smiled, placing the flowers on the coffee table. "And what's the reason for this visit?"

"Well if you recall..."

He slipped up and through the window, folding his right arm behind his back as he casually drew a revolver and pointed it into the air. It wasn't loaded, but a prank was a prank. "When we last met I declared war on you."

His thumb cocked the gun to give that satisfying click noise, but he made no attempt to point it at her, and in fact kept a rather ambivalent smile planted on his face.
