Growing up with a Tyrogue Bikito spent most of his time in Cerulean city. He'd actually been born into a rich family with a great many fighting type pokemon guarding their property. Tyrogue was appointed to protect Bikito from anyone that would try and steal him for ransom. Both of his parents were graduates of Pokemon Tech and had plans to start Bikito in the same school the year he turned 10 years old. However while with Tyrogue he was more appealed toward the natural traveling that most trainers did and instead wanted to defeat gym leaders instead of earning badges.

While his mother approved of this, his father did not. In the end his mother helped him take up a fake identity so that he could leave the school grounds without being noticed. In Pokemon Tech he was Bikito Sanzamine and studied hard to learn about Pokemon on the intellectual level. However on days off and what he'd let his hair down and take on the alias of one Itsuki Taisho. During his first year of school Bikito was given his second pokemon, a Eevee. This was actually a choice and while most of the students picked fully evolved pokemon, Bikito tried to find the one at the lowest level. This is when he met Gazella who informed him most students don't have time to grow any kind of connection with their pokemon.. They were best used strategically not with ones emotions...she was a total knock out, but her tactics just didn't suit his own.

That summer while training Eevee at a lake a poliwag attacked and was able to defeat Eevee. Tyrogue jumped in and in the middle of the battle the Poliwag evolved into a Poliwhirl after taking a hard beating from Tyrogue. This still was not enough however as Tyrogue ended up winning despite the evolution. Bikito used a pokeball to catch this Poliwhirl and thus giving him his third pokemon... In a battle at school one of the boys got mad at Bikito for "Looking at Gazella the wrong way." and challenged him to a battle. It was a 3 on 3 battle in which Eevee was beaten and Poliwhirl was only able to finish off his opponents Beedrill before being taken out by a electrode. Tyrogue despite having a disadvantage against electric types took out electrode in one hit. However the Fearow he summoned next was using its flight to a strong advantage and just beat on Tyrogue from up high. Finally Tyrogue evolved into Hitmonlee and with a high jump kick was able to punt the bird out of the sky.
