Description

Image

Chris Redfield has the dubious honor of being one of the first people to meet the T-Virus face-to-face. One of the first outside the Umbrella Corporation, anyway – it was Chris who helped lead the Raccoon City police department’s S.T.A.R.S. squad to the mansion that housed Umbrella’s experimental facility, which kicked off the entire Resident Evil saga.

Chris and his squadmate Jill Valentine were the only two members of S.T.A.R.S. to survive the incident. After he was able to escape Raccoon City – which had been overrun by T-Virus-generated monsters – he traveled to Europe, where he sought to learn more about the virus and Umbrella’s plans for it. His search eventually drew him and his sister Claire to Antarctica, where Chris confronted his former commander in S.T.A.R.S., the treacherous Albert Wesker.

Since his battle with Wesker ended in a stalemate, Chris has dedicated himself to stopping the spread of biological weapons and terrorism worldwide. He’s one of the founding members of the BSAA – Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance – and his exceptional combat skills have made him the group’s most valuable field operative.

His latest mission has taken him to western Africa, where he and his new partner Sheva Alomar are assigned to investigate a possible outbreak of a dangerous virus. Though the Umbrella Corporation itself is long gone, its creations still survive, and so does Chris’ old nemesis Wesker, who just might have something to do with the African incident. (IGN.com)

Personality

Age: 25
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 177lbs.
Blood Type: O

After being kicked out of the Air Force, Chris became a drifter until he met Barry Burton. Barry recruited him for the newly formed S.T.A.R.S. Now Chris has been reassigned to a smaller unit at Raccoon City headquarters to prove himself quickly. A tough guy who possesses both strong mental skills and great vitality, Chris has a great advantage with weapons when surrounded by many enemies.
A member of special tactics force S.T.A.R.S., Chris is tough with a will of iron and body of steel. He is good at handling firearms. A former Air Force pilot, he's a top-notch airman. After solving the "mansion incident," he transferred to Europe with his team members Jill and Barry to seek the truth.

Equipment

Chris is the main male character in Resident Evil and also the harder option of the two main characters in the game. Personality wise, he does seem to come across as being quite dense at various times during the game, like he wouldn’t know what was happening, but I'd have to say that he is quite the opposite, much smarter that he looks. Chris has a very protective role over people, especially females, such as Jill and his sister Claire, though there isn't much of a given chance to show this in Resident Evil. Chris is also a smoker, but due to censorship the opening video scenes were removed from the US and European versions. You can find the uncensored opening online if you look around.
Because Resident Evil has a lot less character development than a lot of titles out there, so finding a real focus on characters can be a problem, for example we never find out why Chris was kicked out of the Air Force for, and can only speculate from other reports. Chances are, from the details of Jill's Diary in Resident Evil 3, Chris has a anger problem and this could have resulted in him leaving the air force.

Chris has a general assortment of weapons during Resident Evil, from a combat knife, you can also get a Beretta Handgun, Shotgun, Magnum, Flame Thrower and Rocket Launcher. Details on each of the weapons can be found in the Resident Evil weapons section. (residentevilfan.com)

Chris Redfield's Story

With both hands curled about the grip of the Beretta, he turned head to the side to leer at the zombie that was violently rushing toward him. Spit flew from its rotten teeth, its arms flailed as it hobbled as fast at its dead legs could carry it. The slider pulled back the moment he squeezed the trigger, the chamber discharging the shell as the round was stripped and sent screaming into the forehead of the zombie, laying it rest. Bringing his fingers to his earphone, the burly leader took one final survey of the vicinity before reporting, "All clear."
