Artifice:Damascus is an artificer who follows a secret art of creating machines from steel, wood, and other materials and infusing them with magic to give them a "life force". He creates several types of sentries depending on the materials he has, but his specialty is the steel golem, a large, huminoid machine that is encased entirely in metal that moves slowly because of its immense weight.

Damascus often stays far away from the front lines of battle, commanding his golems from afar though a link to their mana core. This mana core, their one true weakness, is often placed inside of the chest of the artificer's creations where it is protected with a thick chest plate. Also, steel golems are weakest near its joints where the armor plating is thinner to increase maneuverability.

Personality

General: Damascus is more of an anigma than a person: very few people have actually ever seen him outside of the field of battle. He is very mysterious and prefers to let his minions and allies do the dirty work for him so that he has time for his experiments.

Relationships: He has no known links to other people, save a few allies that aid Damascus in his exploits. All that is known about his social habits is that he prefers to spend time alone with his constructs.

Equipment

General: Damascus brings a bag of tools everywhere he goes filled with instruments of his craft. Everything from chisels to a hatchet to nuts and bolts are packed in the bulky bag, each important in its own right.

Creations:
~Steel Golem: A huge construct that is made entirely of steel. Standing at anywhere from 7-15 feet tall, a steel golem is a slow, lumbering sentinel that has unsurpassable physical strength and is nearly indestructible, save a few choice points in its steel shell where the mana flow is both close to the surface and almost unprotected by armor plating.
~Wooden Construct: A light infantry construct made entirely out of wood. These constructs are around the size of a human man, and are considered some of the fastest constructs, but, like men, they have many weaknesses. Their joints are more easily severed than their metal counterparts and they are left vunerable to many more attacks than most other constructs. However, this artificer's tool is both easy to make and is manageable in large numbers, making it an undeniable asset to Damascus' arsenal.
~Quicksilver Runner This is the fastest construct known to artifice, and though it is made primarily out of tin, it was coined quicksilver by the streak of silver it leaves behind. This construct has long, spindly legs that allow it to run at speeds of over 30 mph, a speed that has yet to be surpassed by humankind save cavalry units. However, this unit sacrifices much in its speed and is easily defeated if a strike is landed to its thin legs or to its mana core, which is protected only by a thin plate of tin armor.

History

General: Not much is known about Damascus' history. In fact, no one, including Damascus himself, knows everything about his history.

However, it is known that he was born somewhere in the north, where the harsh landscape forced his family to develop techniques that would otherwise never have been used and adaptations to the weather that are unique to a few family groups. Among these was the ability to make workers that could withstand the weather that could aid in the gathering of food and the cultivating of the harsh landscape. Besides of that general information, nothing else is known about the man or the history behind him.
