Quirks

Is most frequently spotted in The Piata,
or lingering around Verinotte Hollow Northern Gate


She actively avoids the Western Gate


Has a strong hatred for children and young adults


Can preform mild cures, and always carries about her
three satchels of herbs: two to cure, one is Elysium.


Can be frequently found screaming at squirrels or
hedgehogs, as well as actively plotting against them.


Slightly long winded, actively talks in prose and rhyme


Her hair is stringy black and her clothes are very unkempt


She thirsts for power, and actively seeks information on a
girl named Tyli and a Prince named Gareth


Her skin is pocked with scars, which would reveal to be the bite
marks of many rodents upon closer inspection.


She covets crystal, and will attempt to swindle or steal it
from anyone who presents it in the light.

History

Once upon a time, Helyn possessed all the power in the world. She had on her person The Crystal Canary, and none could stop her. In fact, the one who tried got himself turned into a rodent! A ground hog no less!

Over the years her powers grew, and she also amassed Minions. On of them was a gargoyle by the name of Dyrmuc, another a loyal troll named Irahel. Together, the triad were going to take over Terra! They had already obliterated their main opposition years prior: Prince Gareth's Kingdom as well as he.

Unfortunately for Helyn, a certain groundhog named Gareth came back. This time, he had a woman on his arm, and all the love in the world on his side. Not even kidnapping the girl and separating the two would prove a fatal blow. She never expected what came next.

Gareth exploded into her lair on a tidal wave of hostile rodents, freeing his true love and saving the day. The canary she never laid eyes on ever, for it was destroyed, however she did make one last curse and one last vow. The lovers, upon pulling back from their kiss of triumph, would stare into each others eyes and not know who they were standing next to. If this wasn't enough, Helyn vowed to kill the two. Now she lays dormant in Verinotte Hollow, waiting for news of either to surface.

The Piata

The Piata, or the marketplace, is an open-ar stall and cart hub of sales in Verinotte

Verinotte Hollow Northern Gate

The Northern Gate consists of wrought iron and stone, elegantly marking this edge of the town. A single lantern is illuminated on both the outside and inside of the gate, which is guarded by no less than 4 guards. It is usually open for commercial flow.

The rhyme would be heard by none, lest they were an owl named Holutu. She sat, invisibly, perched on a rock, while he soared above the treetops.

She sends wind through, and grabs at the air streams, jerking them back.

Irehal grabbed at the branch, but it really didn't matter. She was pulled through the air, along with some other matter. The current was too fast for her to catch balance, despite her being a troll with special talents. Before long caught glimpse of a wicked smile, as she zoomed towards it she felt her blood rile. Would her death be in the hands of this evil?

Helyn was pleased to see the spell still worked, it had been a minute since she had last air-jerked. Smiling down on the troll in her midst, she narrowed her eyes and curled up a fist.

I see you know better than to cause your own end,
Who are you, She Beast, and why do you offend?


Holutu continued to careen through the air, although the breeze stopped, he was sent towards a tree, and through the branches was flopped.

Picking herself up from the ground, Irehal huffed a bit. Who did this woman think she was? She obviously had some sort of power. Looking the woman in the eye as she spoke, Irahel realized who exactly she was dealing with. A witch! Well, she placed her hands on her hips, I don't care who this lady is. Nobody speaks to me like that!

Offend? I was simply walking through the wood.
Ask the same of you, "She Beast", I should.



Helyn's smile grew wider, her eyes more wild.

I can see I am dealing with only a child.
My name is Helyn,
And I deal with Magic.
You'd best hold your tongue,
Or this talk will turn tragic.
Take that as a threat,
But take this as advice:
It would do to pay attention
To the opportunity before your eyes.



Holutu was ruffled and disgruntled, but hopped to his Mistress. Once perched on her shoulder, towards the Troll did he hiss.

Opportunity is what I've yet to see,
You've done nothing but insult me!
On top of that, you offend my race,
As a Witch, you are a disgrace!
Now leave me be, to continue my way.
You're screwing up my of agi day!


Irahel snarled as she spoke, and stamped a foot, maintaining her posture and shooting the owl a look.

Helyn began to laugh.

You show spirit!


and stamped her staff.

Accept my gift, and become a minion,
Or choose death!


Irehal says
You've yet to mention the prize?



Helyn grinned widely, her eyes turning green.

It's a surprise!


She began to laugh, her hands started to glow,
The sky turned darker, it was quite the show.

Troll, do you wish to fight by my side?
Choose this fate or meet your demise.
I have more to offer than just a long life!
I can end your largest strife.


Holutu took off from her shoulder, off into the trees, he was not about to be here for this scene!

A tinge hit Irahel's gut, the woman spoke truth.
She hated to admit it, but she loved her youth.
If she could forever be strong, what a prize!
And if... to her hands she turned her eyes.
If this Witch could give her five fingers, hands,
She saw no reason to stray from Helyn's plans.

Now or never! Decide, pick!
A simple 'yes' will do the trick.
Helyn cries


Hands!

Irahel said, and it was done.
Her fate was now set in stone.

Helyn teleported both her and Irahel away.

Her hands were crossed on the table before her, and she was paying very close attention to the atmosphere. Her ears were finely tuned in the direction of the girl at the bar, the only other patron. She could just hear her words under the sound of Irahel's stomps.

Well, most of them, the last thing she heard was "witch." Two identical beast-beings entered the bar, weapons ready. The distraction caused Helyn to lose concentration, and she nearly damned the things! Her eyes flashed but once, but she held them shut.
Oh really? She thought to herself, regardless of frustration growing a smirk.

Helyn leaned to the side ever so slightly as the owl landed, folding an arm up to stroke the armored bird. Without a word, she descended to the stool, nodding curtly once she was seated. Her eyes closed for a moment, she was receiving a thought from the owl, but upon their opening they focused on the screen. Helyn frowned slightly at the object, oh how she despised technology, but nevertheless her hands hovered over it. After a few quick taps, she had ordered a bowl of water and three freshly dead rattus norvegicus.
