"You know, I was going to go so far as to even do this mission properly, but you just taunt me so with those fangs," came a voice behind him, followed up by the soft padding of boots on the barren street. She was standing a good thirty feet away, dressed all in black that allowed her to cling to the dark. She certainly not unarmed, as this man looked. Her belt was filled to the brim with bombs, vials, and a gun. "So why don't you turn around and look at me straight, hm?"

From one of the shacks, yellow eyes shone, hiding any white that existed, taking what light they could to see the target clearly. Dog was close, ready to pounce, fully unleashed.

Ravenlocks footsteps slowed to a stop, but he didn't turn to face Jaedra. No, he simply turned his gaze skyward. It would be several moments that he simply stood there, keeping the woman waiting for a response.

“And whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?” he inquired as a chilly breeze blew through the street, sending bits of crumpled paper and old newspapers rustling across the ground.

After he spoke, he finally turned to face Jaedra, his chest bare beneath his sleeveless coat, revealing the rune-work of tattoos that adorned his torso and arms. His grin had only widened at the sight of Jaedra.

Cocky and arrogant, Ravenlock managed to overlook the presence of Diane for the time being.

Jaeda barely moved, one hand upon a proximity sphere in the case of any sudden movement. She had dealt with countless vampires in the past; those that could cover sixty feet in the blink of an eye, those that could render themselves invisible, those with impressive strength and other superhuman powers. She could not take chances, even with her experience.

"I suppose any target would love to know the name of their killer, but you don't really look perturbed, as you should," she said, shrugging, "But what should it matter? Jaeda, member of the Slayer Organization. I've been sent to kill you today, so just stand where you are. It'll make everything so much easier."

The werehound narrowed his eyes, waiting for a signal, and it came, but he did not move. Distracted, he turned his eyes to the left. There was someone else here. That scent, the spilled blood.

Jaeda waited, wondering just what Dog was doing. Sighing finally, she popped out a long, silver knife.

A low chuckle came to Ravenlock's lips before erupting into outright laughter. “A hunter is it?” managed between laughter.

“A lone hunter? Your people have either grown recklessly complacent over the years, or they want you out of their hair. Which is it, hunter? Are they fools or conniving villains who will send their own people to their deaths?” He asked as his laughter died down into soft chuckles once more.

“Walk away from here and perhaps you'll live to find the answer.”

There would be little enough sport in a lone hunter - or so he thought. And as much as he craved the violence and the blood shed, the scent of terror and the thundering beat of ones heart in their last moments of life... he had ulterior motives for seeking out this city. Motives that he wasn't ready to compromise for a single hunter.

Though, as he was preparing to turn and walk away, another entered the scene. A familiar face that prompted a raise of his left brow. “Well if it isn't a Lahmian lapdog,” he retorted.

“An eventful night it would seem. Is this a social call? Or does your queen lament my absence so greatly that she has sent you to collect me?” he asked.

Hmph. Bastard. He probably would not notice, but the woman did not seem particularly afraid. "I think you should demonstrate, if you want to prove your worth." She eyed the other vampire, grinning. "Oh, two in one day? Double the credits. What luck."

At that moment, she ran towards Ravenlock, knife pointed outward. It had been dipped in blessed water and it also happened to be mixed with silver. Slayers did not play, no. Not with weapons. Before she reached him, she pulled out the gun, pointing the barrel at him and pulling the trigger. She aimed for his heart.

Normally, bullets did not effect vampires as much as, say, a wooden stake, or other such things, but there was always a chance it was the type of vampires that could go down if they had enough in them. It all depended, however. And that was the reason for the knife, as well.

At the same time, Dog tore out from hiding, bounding toward the vampire with impressive speed, looking larger than most werewolves, sharp teeth glinting.

Ravenlock didn't seem pointedly hindered by the gunshot, in fact, he hadn't moved at all, and save for a a few brief tendrils of black mist where the bullet had struck his chest, he didn't seem harmed in the least.

As Jaedra closed the distance between the pair, she would likely pick up on the crimson hue of his eyes though, and the glint of his fangs as he grinned wickedly.

“Bold words from one who from the smell of her, has been feeding on vermin,” he retorted back at Diane with a smirk.

The wolf would be noted by the vampire but disregarded for the moment. Stepping forward he instead aimed to catch Jaedra by the throat with a simple burst of speed. Human reflexes were a poor match for his, but also, aside for his hand making a grab for the hunter's throat, he made no real attempt to restrain the knife that Jaedra wielded.

Jaeda was only human, and though many of her senses had been enhanced by experimentation, she could not move faster then this vampire. Even caught, however, she twisted the knife around in her hand and pushed it up in an attempt to sever his hand. At the same time, she dropped the gun and reached for a proximity sphere, dropping it as soon as she got it in her hand. If she was successful, it would burst and leave them both in a slowed state of motion.

Dog had long since reached them both, disregarding the other vampire to first deal with the intended target. He claws, tipped with silver, reached out to pierce the vampire's midsection, then pull him out of the sphere's influence.

Jaeda's knife cut deeply into Ravenlock's wrist as the man seemed to have a pointed lack of concern for his bodily safety. However, lacking the force necessary to cleave through bone, the appendage would not be severed. His other hand he simply raised to backhand the woman forcefully as she dropped her orb. The blow to Jaeda would land before the orb burst, and hopefully have force enough to leave the woman dazed and disoriented on the ground. However, the slowing affects of whatever it was she had done would allow the dog to get hold of him.

The hunter's weapon had been blessed and the open wound that dripped spatterings of blood onto the ground was evidence enough of that. Though aside from the bleeding, it didn't seem to be hindering him, and in fact, the wound began to be exuding that same black mist from where the gunshot had struck him earlier.

Meanwhile with a snarl, both hands came up in an effort to catch the dog by the maw, one to his upper jaw and one to his lower jaw, to keep it from getting a bite on him. The silvered claws that tore against his chest seemed to hiss as if they were burning him, but the wounds were superficial at best.

Whether it would be worth note to Diane, the normally volatile vampire seemed to be avoiding lethal force for the moment. Perhaps he was simply toying with the hunter though. It certainly wasn't above him to behave in such a manner.

As the fierce strike would land harshly, causing the slayer to land on the ground, stars before her eyes. However, harsh training had taught her this hardly mattered when there was a target involved. The knife was layed onto the ground, and she forced herself to focus, though many precious seconds were lost, and drew out a vial in her belt that revealed itself to be a syringe. She attempted to dig it into his back as Dog kept him busy, scratching and snarling even as he was held back. He reached for the vampire's head, trying to snap his neck if he could. The werehound was larger than Ravenlock by far, at least four feet taller and much, much bulkier.

Would this be a hard fight for the murderous vampire? Only the rest of the fight would reveal such a thing.

Ravenlock dug his feet against the ground, fully capable of matching the dog's strength, despite the large size difference. The claws continued to rend at his exposed flesh though, but even as they did so, the older wounds were sealing over. It would seem as if the black mist just drew back inside of him, sealing the severed flesh closed once more.

Given Ravenlocks own formidable strength, the wolf would find snapping his neck harder than one might expect, despite his size. Fortunately for the beast, with his hands full keeping its maw at bay, Ravenlock couldn't inflict any pointed harm upon the creature, and was simply enduring the damage being inflicted upon his own body. Deep bloody rends were being opened up across his chest, midsection, back, and arms.

That wouldn't last for long though, as he shifted his grip to attempt to pry the animals mouth open with pressure enough to break its jaw - in theory anyways. As he grappled with the beast, his crimson eyes blazed with his contained fury.

Dog's instincts had him tearing more like a wild animal and less of a human trying to find ways to kill the vampire with the least trouble. Normally he would have tried to dig from under his ribcage and tried to pull out his heart or break the spine, but there were times when he just could not control himself. Like this.

Dog found that, indeed, it was much harder to crack the vampire's neck than before, so instead he tried to sink his claws into his face and tear off the skin. Even if he had been able to do this, however, he found his jaw broken, and his body shot backwards from the pain.

Jaeda stood up, wobbling slightly from the earlier daze, and turned the syringe over in her hand. She then attempted to jab it into his back, injecting the decaying bacteria into his body.

In response to the sharp bite of a syringe in his back, Ravenlock spun to backhand the woman once more. A hiss of irritation crossed his lips, as he was sorely tempted to rend the woman limb from limb and be done with it. In such a recluse place, and in a city of this nature, what was one more body count.

Despite his regenerative capabilities, the damage the dog had inflicted seemed extensive and it would take time for his body to repair all of the open wounds. Even down one side of his face were several deep rends.

It would seem for all intents and purposes as if the vampire had absolutely no regard for himself, as he didn't even seem to be attempting to avoid injury. Either his infamy and notoriety were greatly unfounded, or there was more to him than there seemed at the moment.

This time, the movement he made was avoidable, and the woman bent backwards to avoid it, though she could have sword the tips of his fingers brushed her skin. She scampered back, but not before taking the holy silver knife into her hands. She had few other hopes should the bacteria fail to work as intended.

"Dog, move!" she called harshly, watching the werehound back up in the pain of a broken jaw. If he waited a bit, the pain would surely go away and he could go on and hold the vampire down so she could apply various weapons to his form. However, she needed to act now.

Pulling the crossbow out from her back, she took aim. Unlike the guns, which were expensive as hell to get ammunition for if they were to be monster killers, these arrows were blessed, as well, scribbled with runes. It had already been loaded.

Pulling the syringe free from his back, Ravenlock crushed the container. Brushing his hands together, he let the pulverized pieces fall to the floor and rather than attacking the woman again, he simply stepped towards her, holding his hands to either side as if offering her a shot with the crossbow.

The deep rends from the hunters dog had ceased to heal closed as the bacteria spread through his body taxing his regenerative properties. The discomfort was rapid and he rolled his head a touch as if trying to shake off the affects of the poison as it ate through all it crossed paths with.

“Interesting,” he stated simply.

"Good to know it's working on you," said the woman, pulling the trigger, aiming for his head, hoping to finish the target a bit faster than intended. Whatever left would be taken to a lab, stuck into a tube, and stored away, just like many of the more powerful vampires that had crossed path's with some of the best slayers they had. Jaeda was not one of them, but she did pretty well, in their opinion.

Dog's more human sense of the world came through, eventually, and the werehound walked forth on two legs. However, they paused. The pain suddenly hit much worse than it should have in the form he was in, and he began to shrink, hair receding.

Ravenlock cracked another grin at Jaeda's words before the hunter pulled the trigger on her crossbow. The bolt struck true and the vampire would stand motionless for a moment before slumping to the ground, blood rapidly pooling from his injuries that had ceased to regenerate thanks to the application of the bacteria to his system.

For his reputation and notoriety, he had certainly succumbed to the lone hunter with remarkable ease, a disappointment perhaps.

As Ravenlock dropped to his knee's, the crossbow lingered for a moment more before lowering. "Well," the hunter laughed, "That was easy." She looked to Dog, who had long since turned back human, gripping his jaw gently as he crumpled to his knees.

Jaeda took out a thin mobile, sighing. "I want a retrieval team and a medic. We've got him. He's down." she spoke, keeping her eyes on the vampire warily.

For several long minutes, nothing seemed to occur. However, as that time wore on, that strange black mist was beginning to seep from the remains of the body, soaking into the ground along with much of the pooled blood until there was little more left aside from a large blood stain across the street.

The mist itself was making its way towards the body that Diane had left in a nearby alleyway, slipping back up from beneath the ground to soak into the corpse. The presence of fresh blood so near on hand was a rare accommodation that would not go to waste.

The entire process in itself would take but a few moments as the mist took solid form once more, leaving nothing more than a dried husk at Ravenlock's feet. Stepping out from the alley he straightened his coat out with pointed flare and offered a smirk. He appeared unharmed in the slightest, his bared skin unmarred by the attacks upon his person.

“Had quite enough fun yet?” he inquired.

"...scratch that. He's come back. I might need backup." she said, clipping the mobile closed. She seemed very shocked aside from her calmed movements. How, how, how!? How the hell did he regenerate so fast? Surely, he wasn't another blasted Dracula! She could not deal with this, not her. Blast it, why!

However, she had to at least keep him in place until the others came. Slayers much more advanced than herself. She drew out the shock pike from her back pocket, extending it into a long metal rod. "You know what? I don't think I've learned." she said, spinning the object in her hand.

Dog backed up, hopefully to behind a shack, out of the way in his pain. Even with it blinding him the slightest bit, he could not be a hindrance. Possibly turn once more, try to help where he could.

“Tsk, tsk.” Ravenlock scolded lightly as he spread his arms to either side.

In what seemed like a gust of wind and shadow, his form was overtaken by a swarm of bats that flew at Jaeda in a frenzy of scratching claws and biting teeth. It would be hard to take note, but in the rush of the swarm, it would seem that Ravenlock himself had vanished. Either that, or he was the swarm of bats.

The frenzy would last only a moment as the swarm swept past and headed skyward, and any injuries inflicted would be superficial scrapes and cuts.

Meanwhile, a voice echoed through Jaeda's mind, before fading off into a low chuckle until that too was gone. 'We will meet again, hunter.'

The human had amused him, if only briefly. But he had other matters to attend to.
