Laid back, cocky, cattle raising, part time lawman.
Jesse is a fairly tall man at 6’2 with a leaner, but nicely muscled build. He has a tanner complexion from being outside in the western sun, brandy brown eyes, and short shaggy black hair. His face is handsome enough with his firm chin high check bones, but even more so, as it’s usually lit up with a form of lazy mischief, that have caught the attention of more than a few of the girls in town. He’s almost always dressed in some variation of the same outfit, flannel shirt and brown trousers with his worn boots and leather brimmed hat.
Laid back and quite sure of himself, it’s hard to really piss the man off. One sure fire way though, to provoke his rare and ferocious temper, is by bothering his younger half sister, Becky. He also enjoys a little mischief here and there, having taken part in more than his fair share of stupid stunts, but he at the same time has an unfoulable moral compass that always kept him from crossing the line. It’s also a reason he works as a need based deputy when the sheriff gives a call. Jesse doesn’t have the most admirable work ethic, but would be hard pressed to ever ask for help, and likes to work with his hands.
Jesse always keeps his hunting rifle with him, and when he goes into town, keeps two pistols in her belt.
Jesse grew up with his father on their small ranch raising cattle and learning how to shoot. His father was not the most faithful of husbands, and was a heavy drinker, resulting in Jesse not being overly fond of hard liquore. Jesse’s mother died when he was still young, about seven or eight, which only made his father’s habits worse. Sometimes his pa would ride off for a week or two, leaving Jesse home by himself. This thought Jesse early on to fend for himself. His father’s infidelity though, led to Jesse having a younger sister, who came to live with him after their father and her mother died. His sister being seven years younger, and half Cherokee which left her often subject to discrimination and mean spirited commentary, left Jesse being fiercely protective of his sister. He also has the bad habit to feel compelled to help and defend every defenseless sap that gave him pathetic looks, effectively making him a push over for a sad story and pleading looks. He and his sister live in a two story farm house on their twenty acres about a ten minute ride outside of Green Hollow.
