Basics
Full Name: Kaitlynn Lessard
Age: Twenty-two
Birthplace: N/A
Current Location: Wing City
Titles, Born or Earned: N/A
Race: Human
Species: Vampire
Occupation: Medium for hire
Associations: Lessard Family

Social
Parents: Vincent Lessard; deceased. Eleanor Way; deceased.
Siblings: Sanina Lessard; deceased.

Appearance:
• 5’6’, deceptively slim and weak-looking
• Yellowy-blonde long straight hair

Kaitlynn wears contacts on account of her short-sightedness and wears a style that are cream col-oured with flecks of gold in them. Her eyes are almost unnaturally large, focusing like an owl’s might upon its prey when something grabs her attention solidly. Otherwise, her features are quite soft and relatively unremarkable.

No matter what personality is on the surface, the slightly less dead Lessard sister tends towards the same forms of dress sense, Andrea doing so to keep up the ruse that she is her oblivious counter-part. At all times, she wears a long navy and rather worn crushed velvet coat and her low heeled navy blue ankle boots. Accessories and other clothes usually revolve around these two specific items but Kaitlynn is not a terribly fashionable person and therefore, there are occasions where she wears some quite odd arrangements.

As far as jewellery goes, neither personality deigns to wear much except for a thin circle of silver hung on a thick silver chain quite tight around her neck, almost like a choker. Hanging down in the middle of this delicate circular object is a dewdrop gemstone coloured pale blue. Its significance is not immediately obvious.

Extraordinary Skills, Abilities, Flaws:
• Natural talent for biology, particularly entomology
• Capable of communicate and exorcising spirits
• Suffers from a phobia of blood, which results in bouts of shaking and sickness in minor cases – blackouts in extreme cases
• Is possessed by a malicious spirit who feeds on negative emotion

The resulting effects of her Turning were dizzying; the majority of Kaitlynn's vampirism was absorbed by the spirit, as well as the memory of the night. Instead of lying dormant, it was seized upon by her unwanted spiritual passenger who used it to attach herself permanently to the medium, adopting all the traits of vampirism and the darkness of the spirit itself to create a second sustained personality; Andrea. As a result Kaitlynn is blissfully unaware of her status as a newly turned vampire, she is also worryingly unaware that there is a spirit is using her to survive.

Her powers as a medium manifested at a young age. In the beginning she had nurtured them with her mother’s encouragement alongside her mother. Spirits are generally distinguished from the living by a light beaming out of their chests. Kaitlynn has learnt how to suppress and dismiss more powerful and troublesome spirits through the use of simple incantations and crystals that boost her natural abilities. It used to be more of a hobby, taking on and ridding innocents of small, troublesome spirits or helping troubled spirits on their way via séances but now since being fired from her last job, she's now using it to pay the bills.

It is worth noting that Andrea, being a malevolent spirit and therefore not actually part of Kaitlynn, cannot use these abilities.

Equipment:
• A collection of crystals used to channel and protect whilst performing séances or when particularly powerful spirits decide to be unexpectedly difficult.
• Her mobile phone
• Keys to her apartment
• A small number of business cards advertising her services as a medium.
• A rather large, but pretty amber encased dragonfly imitation that masquerades as an or-nament for her keys.

As soon as the lights cut out, the young woman stood deathly still, finding that that could only be the best course of action. Seeing in the dark was not something normal people could do on the fly. So for once, she was actually grateful for Sanina's vampirism, though not so happy about the decidedly chilly voice her sister was speaking with.

The jerk of her arm was quite unexpected and initially Kaitlynn tried to resist it, until she noted the stone cold touch of the other person. Sanina. “What... sister, I can't see! You might be walking Jezebell and I right into the line of fire!”

Explosions pierced the darkness at random intervals, illuminating the battle between The Assassin and Marlene with grenades and gunfire. “Fucking hell...” she breathed, before nodding her head surely. “Get me out of here Sanina.”

Kaitlynn Lessard hesitantly ducked her head inside the bar's main entrance, looking decidedly edgy, looking particularly for Marlene and Assassin. She seemed moderately relieved to see neither of them, though she actually heard the eerie tune of her sister's song but she missed Eva's distress.

For now, moving towards the bar counter itself to get a small drink. It had been a rough day at work.

Kaitlynn Lessard noted Loy's approach and although she initially frowned, she took his compliment as was intended; gracefully. “Thank you and hello,” she returned, managing a polite smile. “Who might you be?”

It seemed that she was quite the centre of attention today, cream coloured eyes flickering to Sky at his offer of alcohol, raising an eyebrow. “If you insist. A glass of red wine please bartender,” she said with a respectful nod.

Kaitlynn Lessard looked a little hesitant at Loy's abruptness, particularly when he hadn't yet answered her question. But before she could say anything, Sky – the other stranger – cut across, saying precisely what was on her mind.

“Ah, quite. I am Kaitlynn,” she introduced to both men, extending a hand to Loy and raising her glass to Sky with the other. “A pleasure to meet you both, I am sure.”

She left Loy's request unanswered for now; one did not declare themselves friends after such a brief interlude. Such things had to be earned.

Kaitlynn Lessard nodded her greetings to Sky, before waving away the former's apology. “I agree completely; a point simply missed must be addressed.”

Then she shook Loy's hand firmly before releasing it, taking another drink of her wine. “So, what brings you both to Gambit's or indeed, Wing City itself?”

Kaitlynn Lessard gave Loy an appraising look, bemused to no end. “It's a shame that I am not a beautiful girl then. I am a woman, so please, desist in your efforts,” she said sharply to the gun master before shaking her head. Men, really.

The words of Sky were moderately interesting, though she knew nothing of this woman Alexia and from the sounds of it, did not desire to. “That seems like an odd existence, Mr Coston,” she returned, still a little sharp but it wasn't badly meant. “So, whom are you protecting at the moment, if I may ask?”

Kaitlynn Lessard nodded at Loy, satisfied. “I spoke of no sister,” she challenged, eyes narrowing in suspicion. True, her eyes had been on Sanina for a moment or two, but they hardly looked anything alike.

Sky's existence didn't sound terribly fun to Kaitlynn at all, her face looking thoughtful for a moment. “So whilst you wait, you sit in this bar, drinking and meeting random strangers for fun? Doesn't sound like the great life of a warrior,” she commented idly, looking rather bemused at the situation, rather than him.

Kaitlynn Lessard felt her eyes narrow towards Loy. “No you did not and kindly do not read my mind in the future. It is intrusive and rude,” she advised, barely glancing over at Sky as he spoke.

Unsurprisingly, the sword's bright shine caught her attention and she turned to look at it, vaguely intrigued. A thought about compensation flickered through her mind as she saw how unwieldy the sword potentially was. “That is... oddly beautiful, for a weapon.”

Kaitlynn Lessard waved at Loy. “Farewell,” she offered simply, frowning at Sky's seeming ignorance. Really!

Only when Loy was gone did she focus on his explanation, trying to decipher it and ask questions without seeming a fool. “You... say myself and the original 'Sky'. How many are there of 'you'?”

The idea that a weapon's appearance was based on your soul was intriguing and she glanced up at him and then down at the weapon; not a hard feat, considering the sword's length. “You have a beautiful soul then, it seems.”

Kaitlynn Lessard barely had time to react to Scamp's unwitting assault upon her chair, eyes wide with surprise at Sky's reactionary speeds and at the same time, intensely grateful for them.

This was what she got for not stopping her sister's insanity, she thought despondently, giving Sky a grateful smile, eyes flickering to the combat between the undead creature and the pirate with a sigh of annoyance. “Thank you; if you'll give me just one moment...” she directed to her saviour, trailing off to stand and face towards her sister.

“Learn to control your ANIMAL, dear sister!” she yelled out in her most aggrieved tone, before releasing a deep breath and then seating herself back down. “Now, Sky, where were we?”

Kaitlynn Lessard sat by patiently, waiting for the interlude between Sky and Vampiric to progress, lamenting the loss of her red wine. It had been smashed by Sanina's creature. Another reason to dislike the undead. Like she needed more reasons!

His explanation widened her cream coloured eyes just a touch. “Well... That's quite a tale, Sk... Mr Coston,” she recalled, shaking her head in disbelief at his story and her own manners. “Five of you, all sharing the same name and I guess appearance, but with five different lives?”

It was a fascinating concept.

Kaitlynn Lessard 's eyes narrowed upon the approach of her sister, frowning. “Good evenings involve not getting my stool taken out from underneath me by undead abominations and wasting good red wine, bought kindly by a stranger.”

She made a pointed effort to look away from Sanina then; no, it was not a good evening right now, glimpsing Sky's attempt to buy her another drink and looking mollified. “No, no! You can't. It was hardly your fault that my sister's creature broke my glass. Let me.”

“Sister, I understand that you think you're a good parent, but you're really, really not. For gracious sake, that child is crying and you're talking to me like there's nothing wrong!” she exclaimed, seeing no point in bringing up the dead dog. The child was obviously as deluded as her sister to even think of carrying it around.

She supposed she should seem pleased to meet them, waving at the two children pleasantly. “Hello Bethany; Parson,” she greeted, sending a grateful look Sky's way. It looked like she was going to need that drink.

“You're nearly as bad as that other bloke, but thank you regardless,” she said kindly, smiling briefly at him.

Well, she didn't know what to make of that horrid little child, thinking that he couldn't be a more perfect little devil spawn for Sanina to nurture. Bethany however, seemed... less... unstable.

Abruptly, her attention was retracted back to Sky, Kaitlynn taking the wine from him and nodding. “Thank you kindly then.”

Bethany's greeting was less than enthusiastic and she wondered what kind of upbringing these children were receiving. “Yes, I'm your Aunty Kaitlynn, I suppose and aunts make sure that brothers treat their sisters nicely or spirits will visit them whilst they sleep.”

She made the threat sugary sweet, but she wasn't joking. Mediums had that luxury.

Sanina's second request made her blanch, barely registering the first one in her misery. “Sanina, I live twenty miles outside of town. I only come here on weekends. They'll be bored with me,” she reasoned. That tone could not bode well and although she didn't obviously prevent her sister's wrongdoings, taking her kids so she could go didn't sit right with her.

Also, I don't want to be stuck with your crazy children, she thought with contempt, but kept her face placid. “And this is Mr Coston, Sanina. Mr Coston, meet my sister, Sanina Lessard.”

Kaitlynn Lessard smiled sweetly down at the child, gesturing to Sanina. “See, we are in agreement. I was absentee because your mother is very busy,” she explained haltingly, quirking an eyebrow at the boy's reluctance to watch Jezebell. Very well, a skeleton baby she can manage.

The little girl it seemed was a different manner, reaching for Kaitlynn who despite everything, seemed to have a soft spot for adorableness, lowering herself from the stool to take Bethany's hand. “Very well then; perhaps you could take Parson with you and I'll watch Bethany and Jezebell, especially if he really doesn't want to stay with me?”

Sky introduced himself to Sanina and Kaitlynn looked at him with concern. Whatever must he think of her now? He had been such a nice conversationalist too.

Whilst Kaitlynn resented the insinuation that she might hurt Parson, she had learnt quickly that her sister either wouldn't listen to either or both of them and so fell silent, pleased that everything seemed to have worked out for the better this time around.

Sky... seemed incredibly understanding. Strange but oddly relieving. “I try to stay out of these affairs as much as possible,” she returned, squeezing Bethany's hand a little tighter. “Alright; that's fine with me.”

Then attention seemed to shift back to Sky and that all too important question, Kaitlynn's eyes looking upon the stranger with a mix of apprehension and hope. Sanina could be awfully cruel to those she did not like.

Well, that would be interesting, Kaitlynn thought to Sky's reaction though she froze at Parson's words. “A child?! Father should be ashamed if he's thinking of doing that!” she exclaimed, bringing an arm around Bethany protectively as she fell to the ground, crouching with her. “It's a bridge too far Sanina!”

The expected turning was distracted from by Sanina's approach towards Sky, the precise wording sending alarms off in the younger sister's mind. Oh no you don't, she thought with a frown, shaking her head. Disapproval radiated off her in waves.

“Dear sister, don't even think about it. Not everyone is walking food for you,” she advised in honeyed tones.

Sky's batting away of her sister's attempts made Kaitlynn grin with relief. Smart man, she thought, frowning immediately at Parson's words. What an unpleasant child. Much too much like Sanina for her comfort.

“Of course you weren't dear sister,” the entomologist replied soothingly. You have to sweeten them up first, don't you? Her thoughts were disturbingly correct, she knew from experience. Peaceably, she took Jezebell into her arms with a word of objection, unsettled but resigned to watch both baby and child until Sanina returned.

There was never any goodbyes. Kaitlynn waited until her sister had disappeared out of the bar before turning to Sky with distinct concern in her eyes, though for what was uncertain. “Well... I'm sorry. I did not expect that.”

Kaitlynn Lessard looked at him most curiously, idly noticing the change in eye colour but not speaking of it. He was pained, that much was obvious. “Sanina's attention is never flattering. She either wants to kill, eat or turn you. No option is preferable,” she explained sighing in relief.

“I nearly went to get her off you when she asked about kids, but I figured you could handle yourself well enough,” she said, taking a long drink of her red wine. God she needed that!

Unfortunately, with two children now, it was probably time to retire, Kaitlynn moving to straighten to a standard position, Jezebell cradled in one arm and Bethany in the other.

Unnatural strength, she possessed.

All Kaitlynn wanted was a stiff drink. She was twenty-two, working a nine hour day and grudgingly about to go home to a six year old and a skeletal baby that she had to keep pretending was real to appease her sister.

Actually, all she really wanted to do was to go home and deny all association to her twisted father and sibling. Yes, that would do, she thought firmly, approaching the bar quickly, because she was only going to get one of her wishes.
