Description

Kaul is a young assassin who prefers a blunt weapon over a knife any day.

He is quite short especially compared to his peers, making him look like a child when standing next to them.
He wears a white robe with no sleeves and loose trousers. He rarely wears shoes, but if he has to, he will wear wooden sandals.
Around his neck is a white scarf made of a thin yet durable material. Under his hood is a strong man with pale skin and a bald head. His eyes are hidden under a white but aged blindfold that is dotted with little red stains.
On his wrists are leather bracelets with a strange symbol cut into them that resemble an eye.

He uses a strong Bo staff as his main combat choice, he has developed his own style with the Bo having never received formal training. If he pours his energy into the Bo he empowers it and they become almost like a single entity. If the Bo brakes when this is happening, then he will die. If he dies, the Bo will shatter. This ability which makes him faster than any human [or at least, faster than any enemy he's had to use it against] is a double edged sword and is as fatal to him as it is to his opponent.

Powers:
Unfortunately, Kaul is completely blind. His eyes were cut by a sword during a large fight, and he has never found the man who inflicted the wound. Since then he has been forced to adapt and find new ways of getting around while still being able to hold his own as a strong fighter. He found just one such way of doing this. He uses his Bo Staff to literally feel or sense vibrations in the ground. The stronger the vibration is, the closer it is to the staff, and obviously, to Kaul himself. He has also learned to heighten his hearing and so he can often hear sounds that normal people cannot. If he loses his staff then he would have to resort to using his hands or barefeet to feel for vibrations. His feet would not be as sensitive to them, so he would likely need his hands in this situation. Having to rest his palms on the ground in order to feel for his enemy can be a dangerous situation, and so he has had to teach himself a martial art that requires a lot of ground work: Monkey style.

Kaul usually only needs his raw strength and Staff to take care of enemies, but in times of need he can pour his energy into his Bo Staff. When he does this the two of them form a link based around his soul. This unlocks Kaul's true powers.

Firstly, he has a limited Telekinesis that only works with his Staff allowing him to throw it and retrieve it as well as opening up other combat strategies.

Another power that comes from the link is the ability to shoot raw energy out of the edge of his Staff. He has to swing the staff to force the energy out and the faster he moves it, the more energy is released. The energy usually takes the form of a large, purple fireball. The more energy he fires from a shot, the longer he has to wait for it to fully recharge.

Kaul can use his energy to create a new power which is called 'Perfect Symbiosis.' This power requires that Kaul keeps the staff in constant movement while also making his body retains no damage. Another condition of this is that he needs to give the Bo staff a lot of damage from defending or attacking.
When the Perfect Symbiosis is complete he will grow stronger and he will no longer have to wait to recharge his energy. Dark wings made of energy will appear at his back and his eyes will glow with purple mist. This move is a last resort and while it is his most powerful move, he hates to use it.
Perfect Symbiosis can take some time to perform, and it is extremely dangerous for Kaul, as it is for his enemy. The longer he stays in Perfect Symbiosis the harder it is to come out of it, and the harder it is to keep his mental lucidity. Should he stay in it for too long his mind will snap and he will go insane, never to return to his conscious self. The only antidote to this is death.

Personality

Kaul can be extremely childish sometimes, often to the extent of annoying others. But in times of battle, he can turn to be a very serious warrior. He likes to keep all focus on the task at hand, and often doesn't plan ahead making his fighting quite in predictable, but at the same time, reckless.

Equipment

Kaul carries a Bo staff made of a red oak wood that is literally covered in ancient markins that are etched into the wood. In times of need Kaul will pour his energy into the Bo and the markings will glow with a blue haze.

History

Kaul grew up in the mountains within a monastery. He soon learned that he was not actually born there but when he was a baby a monk found him laying in a bush almost eaten by snakes. The monk took him back to the monastery and he's lived there since then.

The monastery was a place of peace, but built around a philosophy that tells that one can only transcend violence, if one completely understands it. Thus, the monks are all masters of various martial arts, and in time, Kaul became one too. He found that over all styles of fighting, he preferred using a weapon; a Bo staff.

He would train all day and sleep for only a little while, and he was said to be a prodigy, and a blessing to the monks - a protector of their home.

By the age of 18 Kaul was known in a near-by town for helping rid them of raiders and gangs. The villains did not take kindly to this, and they sent for their leader. Their leader was a powerful and evil man who carried with him a sword that seemed to be made of black steel. The man found Kaul's monastery and attacked the monks, who were unable to stop the man. When he defeated every monk, he waited for Kaul to come back to the Monastery, and when he did, they fought. The fight lasted for hours, and the two men were almost at the point of complete exhaustion, until the gang leader performed a strange move that had never been seen before. The man raised into the air and conjured a dark power that empowered him. Using this power he attacked Kaul, and slashed his face.

Kaul awoke in darkness. The man was gone, the monastery destroyed. He found he was blinded by something, and he felt his eyes, feeling nothing but dried blood and pain. From that day onward he vowed to get revenge.
