An ancient and feral vampire, forced to change from the old ways to suit a new world.
A tall, ropey albino. Often thin to the point of looking starved, but showing traces of the desperate strength and hopeless ferocity of an old, dying tiger. He has a wiry build, large, slanted eyes and long, unkempt hair. His eyes are scarlet, and reflect a little too much insanity to be in any way comforting.
He appears to be in his prime; thirty at most, despite his advanced years: his vampiric standing lending him immunity to the trials of time (in body, at least).
He is generally adverse to wearing clothing, finding it tight, oppressive and itchy. In public, (when reminded) he dresses in loose, drawstring trousers, and nothing else, or a soft, flowing robe. He never wears shoes or socks.
Feral and animalistic, his social skills are lacking, at the very best. His personality is prickly, defensive, and often abrasive. He is wildly overprotective of what he sees as his, often smothering or offending those he cares about. He is possessive to a fault, especially when it comes to his Kyria, a trait that often causes far more harm that good. He has no head for politics, and sees violence or physical shows of dominance as a viable way to solve most problems.
The nature of a Blood Doll leads to masochism if it is to be effective, and he is sadistic to a fault. He can easily be classed as a bully, and is clearly more than a little insane.
Daniel’s mental capabilities vary depending on the percentage of Blood Doll accessed. The greater percentage of the Doll Daniel activates, the more animalistic his personality becomes. Over a certain threshold; Daniel loses the ability to speak and function as a creature of higher intelligence.
He tends to walk stooped, or on all-fours, preferring this to bipedal movement.
He fights without weapons, as a general rule, his sharp nails and fangs being weapon enough. He is the possessor of a Blood Doll, and, on occasion, a Regimental Bone Doll.
Blood Doll: a golem made of blood, that can be summoned from any open wound on his body. It has some power as a battle tool, but its key function is in bonding. When the Kyrio bonds to his Doll, his skin becomes red and any wound that is inflicted upon him appears to have no effect: a trait that lead him to be rumoured immortal. In truth, almost all of the damage stands, and the Doll merely holds the Kyrio’s body in a form of stasis, stopping the damage from becoming fatal. Once the Doll has been used, he must retire and rest, releasing it slowly to give himself chance to heal. The results of releasing the Doll at once, or overloading its capacity can prove fatal.
Bone Doll: a golem made of bone, free to be summoned and used by any member of the regiment that the Kyrio is a part of. It is a battle tool, capable of attacking and defending.
Ironically named Daniel, from the Biblical story Daniel and the Lions, the Kyrio appears to have been around for about as long as his namesake story. His original tongue seems to be Latin, although he speaks English perfectly, having spent a great deal of time in England.
Very little is known about his early life, save for the fact that he is the head of the Three-Sickles clan of vampires.
At some point in time, during the many wars fought between vampire and man, Daniel lost at least one family, probably more. He doesn’t speak of it.
By the present day, Daniel has found a new Kyria and started a new family.
He is the father of Krekoh and ally of God’s Truth Silver; to whom he pledged his most fragile son.
