Personality

Optimistic, adaptable, commanding, articulate and empathetic, Lance fights for good and honour, though the main motive for being a mercenary is usually money, Lance often feels he has to take on a moral cause. He often aspires to be a leader in a group or squad and believes himself to be very adaptable to changing situations, as well as being a great speaker and communicator, often spending much time on the radio waves in the middle of an operation.
Lance always tries to keep his civilian life counterpart alive and luckily finds it easy to go back to living a normal happy life, unlike many other military men. Lance has always been able to understand other people quite easily and can use this to form friendly relationships, or otherwise manipulate and deceive people.
Though he lives a mostly happy life he cannot resist what the military holds for him and believes it is his calling in life to always be out in the field, leading teams of soldiers forward towards an objective.

History

Born and raised in a typical Australian, white, suburban, middle class, nuclear family household. Lance didn't have problems with his family, he didn't have issues at school, he didn't get into fights with other kids, he had his friends and he could keep a job easily if he wanted to. But almost like a lack of stimulus he became detached from life and realized that he needed something more to satisfy his desire for living. He thought that maybe the army could give him what he needed and shortly after finishing high school he joined up. For the most part it worked, living took on a completely new meaning to him and it made everything worthwhile.
Eventually he would reach the top of his field and would go on to join the SASR, though everything worked out well he wanted to be a free man, not taking orders from those above him, free to make his own decisions, not having the possibility of being sold out by his country. After his period of service was up, he left, and knowing that he could never give up the true military life he moved into freelancing, working as an independent mercenary, seeing action in Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea and Burma. Rather then fighting for the highest bidder, Lance often fights for what he believes is the right cause.
