Description

At first glance, Lily is a typical 10 year old girl. This sometimes bothers her, as her age is actually 13. She's rather short and skinny, and if it weren't for her shoulder-length, wavy brown hair and girlish hat, she could easily be mistaken as a boy.

Generally speaking, Lily is rather unkempt. Her hair is a monstrous brown growth of tangle and frizz kept under her favourite pink pompom beanie. She's well-tanned from hours of running around in the sun, and her complexion is generally quite clear. She wears a slightly oversized green T-shirt, and faded, fraying blue jeans covered in grass stains. Her sneakers might have been black at one point, but their true colour is hidden under a layer of dried mud and dust. On colder days she dons a navy blue hoodie. For even colder days, she pulls on a black winter overcoat.

Personality

Lily's main driving forces are an unstoppable curiosity and omnipresent fight against boredom. She loves learning, provided she's in charge of what, when, and how much she learns. Much like the Elephant's Child, Lily will not hesitate to persistently ask rude or tactless questions in her quest for understanding. This persistence annoys people, much to Lily's confusion.

Like most preteens, Lily is rather emotionally immature. She is slightly egotistical, and will generally avoid asking for help until it's too late. She ignores and distrusts most people, generally only showing genuine sympathy and interest in another person's wellbeing if she knows them quite well, or admires them. She takes great offence to criticism, although she tends to deal with conflict through passive-aggression, or bottle up her emotions. When she gets bothered enough, her angry outbursts can seem unprovoked or unexpected.

More than anything, Lily's greatest fear is probably commitment or responsibility of any kind. She hates being told what to do, and has a generalized distrust of authority figures and rules in general.

Lily is not at all shy, and completely comfortable with conversing with complete strangers. She'll listen to anybody, all though it's up for debate whether she's more interested in the person, or whether they have any information.

Overall, Lily isn't cautious about new endeavours. It takes a close brush with death or injury to make her take notice and approach things more prudently.

Lily likes travelling light and keeping her hands free, only bringing what can fit in her pockets or the small schoolbag she carries around.

History

Lily's family consists of her father (an IT tech), her mother (a mechanical engineer), and her older brother (16).
