Lorn is a woman with a cultured upbringing. She's modest, relatively shy, and always polite. Emotional outbursts are something she performs only when she's in private. To what few friends she's had, they consider her quiet and closed off, but an overall nice girl. No one has ever assumed that anything might be wrong.
Lorn carries the typical set of items that a young woman might carry when going places, including her purse, a cell phone, perhaps a wallet and makeup.
On September 21, 1990, Lorn Marie Delani was brought into the world to a set of wealthy, loving parents. She was healthy and lovely, the kind of firstborn who was frequently commented on by family friends. Yet, at an early age her parents began to notice something rather distressing. Items in the nursery would shift whenever Lorn became upset or fussy, and the episodes escalated to furniture being tossed about the room in the worst of her tantrums.
Terrified, they sought the help of a Medium, wondering if their daughter might be haunted by a spirit. The woman in question expressed that their daughter was no different than any other normal, healthy baby. She suggested to remove any excess furniture from the room until a solution could be found.
As Lorn aged, it was clear that the ability she had was inborn, and could be trained like any other skill. She could bring items to herself as a toddler, removed toys from the hands of other children during elementary school, and keep items away from other children who sought to tease her. Another expert was consulted around her fourteenth birthday, and after Lorn demonstrated what she could do, the professional in question said she had a rather powerful form of telekineses.
As middle school came and went, Lorn discovered a rebellious streak in herself. She sneaked out of the house, attended parties she was far too young for, and began dabbling in things that really should have been left alone. Shortly after her sixteenth birthday, she learned that lesson the hard way. She was not of a religious upbringing, so when she was invited to attend a seance, Lorn happily agreed to go. In her foolishness, she invited a Greater Demon to live inside of her, thinking the whole thing a hoax, and the Demon in question, called Paralysis, saw in Lorn an opportunity to use her physical and mental abilities to make himself more powerful.
At 21, after a mix-up with a demigod, Paralysis was ripped from Lorn's soul and destroyed, leaving the girl feeling empty and without purpose. Fortunately, with the help of her new girlfriend and long-time-friend Molly Bronson and her inhabitant Karato, she's learning how to live independently once again, with a focus on becoming stronger and more able to defend herself in the long run.
