Owner of Casket Records and a band manager
Standing at 5'9, Marko is of average build. Despite his status as an owner of a record company, he doesn't dress up in suits and ties, preferring to wear comfortable shirts with jeans. This hasn't been much of a problem thus far, seeing as how his company strives to break away from trends that are put down by the rest of the industry. Since he had been in high school, Marko has also started growing out his hair. It is a natural medium brown, now hanging down to his waist. Roughly half of the time he will have it tied back in a ponytail to keep it out of his eyes. The other half of the time he doesn't bother much with it.
Most people describe him as laid back, although there are some who have seen his aggressive side. He likes to hang back and relax, spending some of his time with a video game controller in hand. Even at age 26 he is still a kid at heart. But when business needs taking care of, he knows when to set the childhood aside and focus on the task at hand. He is quite serious about his business and taking care of his clients, always making sure that things get done when need be. For the most part he is pleasant to be around but if a task doesn't get done in a proper manner, and if it hinders him from doing his job, he makes sure to make his opinion on the matter known. Harshly.
Marko is no stranger to the music industry. Both his father and his mother had been musicians since before he was born. His mother had a solo career that was slowly beginning to take off outside of their home town and his father was a guitarist in a well respected band. After Marko was born, though, both of his parents had agreed on one thing. Family came first. They set aside their ambitions and settled down in a small town where Marko grew up as a happy child.
When he reached middle school, Marko's father decided to pick up the family and move to a city. There he started a record company in the hopes of become the one who stood out from the masses. He wanted to sign bands and musicians who stood out from all others and were good at what they did. Marko's mother had even taken a job at the company to help out. It took Marko a little while to get settled in. Having had to leave all of his friends back at his home town, he was left alone until a group of kids at his new school accepted him into their pack.
As the years went on, though, and Marko became more aware of the new family business, he could see that what his father wanted to do with the company was simply not happening. He was more or less forced to sign mainstream bands for the money and the company was slowly turning into another pea in the pod of the record companies in the area. Marko's mother was aware of the change but no matter which way they looked at it they simply had to follow the trends or file bankruptcy. As far as Marko saw it, they simply weren't looking in the right places. In his school, for instance, a small group of kids had formed a great band. When he brought the idea up with his father for signing them, though, he was met with an age old argument. They were kids. They needed time to grow.
During that time Marko had also picked up the guitar, following in his father's footsteps as he began to learn how to play and sing. He discovered something interesting in music and his parents were more than happy to lend a helping hand when he needed it. His father even talked about signing him if he joined a band one day. While the idea was compelling, Marko chose to fly solo, playing some open mic nights around local cafe's until he gained a small following.
It was shortly after Marko graduated high school that he got his first taste of what a tragedy felt like. While he was working his part-time job he got a call from his mother. She was in tears, telling him that his father had been in an accident and didn't make it. Taking the rest of the week off of work instantly, he returned home to console her and figure out what they were to do from there on. The funeral was held and Marko began searching for a new job when his father's will surfaced. The Casket Records company had been left in his name.
A few years have passed since then during which major changes had been made in the company. Marko intends to to make the company what his father had once envisioned it to be, signing on only those who he sees as being less than mainstream with real talent. The change in ownership meant that a lot of musicians had been dropped from the label once contracts expired. Something that has caused a stir in the media but Marko hardly ever paid attention to it. He enjoys his new job and is intending to make the best of it.
