Matthias Rueger pondered as the man countered, something that he honestly couldn't turn down. A chance to strike again at the Coalition was on every Belkan commissioned's mind, and to do so would be an almost guaranteed honor. Shrugging, the agent accepted quietly, "Give me a chance to contact my superiors, Grosha, and I'll allocate transport for us." Stressing the importance of cooperation, he started to put the booklet back away, glancing to his flank as the bar continued to bustle about, "You know, I once knew a man from Khumkah." Resuming his rather neutral tone of voice, his accent vanished, he hoped that the mercenary understood the code. The locale was compromised, they needed to meet somewhere else. The Bar might be good for observation... too good. Taking his fedora, he soon began to button his beige canvas coat after donning it, shooting Grosha a glance should he not understand his urgency.

Matthias allowed curiosity to get the better of him for but a moment, his right eyebrow arching in response. Such was not expected, though he simply replied, "I'm sure I would." Nodding, he took up his laptop, cradling it with one arm, the other carrying the sensitive data, he offered one final gesture before departing, "I look forward to our next encounter."

Muttering under his breath as he began to stride away, he made a bee line for the door, and the safety the streets provided "Sieg Heil." Quickly he disappeared from the bar's scene, fading into the crowds that inhabited the streets.

It was rather sad just how often these people appeared at the same place on a regular occasion. Their turn would come at the confusion that the Coalition suffered, perhaps if their borders weren't like a sieve then things might be a bit harder. Regardless, the Taiyou were, for the moment, not a threat and at the most a potential ally, but that didn't change the fact that minds greater than his own demanded observation. Thus Matthias sat, rather plainly, in a corner booth, seemingly preoccupied with his computer, only occasionally glancing from it to look over the bar.

Matthias Rueger had been rather enjoying himself with a rather trivial game on his device of choice - the ever present laptop - for the past few minutes, though still he observed his surroundings. Already his associate Grosha had arrived, and though the game had distracted him, perhaps the work tonight was not lost. Shifting out of his seat, closing the laptop he had in his possession, he strofe over to the man, appearing to be one of those dainty cafe-goers. Clothed in rather urban garb with a yuppie air to his stride, he finally arrived by the man after a few seconds of circling, watching those in his company. Speaking the passphrase with a northwestern accent, Matthias' eyes blinked twice behind rather minimalist frames.

"It's alright, I've a Saiga."

Matthias Rueger soon turned to take a seat of his own, gingerly setting his weapon down before clambering up to order a little something for himself. His Majesty knew how he hated to speak like this, much less dress like them, though it was his sworn duty and he had no excuse from that. Once he had finished his order, he turned to the Halo, curious, allowing his accent to show as he whispered,

"So des ist de voman?"

Matthias grinned, tilting his head as he did such, eying Marlene with caution, his right hand already on his laptop. "I'm sure you'll be more than satisfied. Stocks with Saiga Arms are doing extremely well, even in the current market."

Matthias Rueger chuckled to himself, this woman was rather feisty, not to mention cute. It was amusing how unimaginative the Aschen could be, at times. Hopefully they're a bit better in bed. he mused, pondering perhaps that the Baron of Sol would allow him his pick of them when the forces of the Sternflotte arrived. Regardless, the situation at present deserved more attention, and Matthias looked to Grosha for the first move. The LandwƤchter cell knew of the meeting, and it was likely that they were in the bar, but it would be Grosha's men who acted first.

Matthias looked to the woman before the small group, knowing she wasn't all there, and spoke up, projecting his voice as much as he could, "Pardon me, ma'am, but I really don't think she'd taste that good." He finished the statement with a glance to Ari before continuing, "All in all, I doubt she's enough meat on her for... oh. Wait." Pausing for a moment, he whispered, a grimace forming on his face, "You people don't eat dissenters..." He projected his thoughts as best he could, whether any in the bar would hear them or not he wouldn't know, but he sent the signal that all LW agents knew to be that of 'this shit's gone south'.

The call has sounded for the last time,
We all stand ready for the fight!
Soon the flags will fly over all the lands,
Triumphant standards of our race, reborn!

Drawing the weapon to him, he was ready to arm the gun, though he still awaited Grosha's final signal.

Matthias Rueger frowned slightly, the Halo had disappointed him. Keeping with him, he whispered, still listening in on what he could with the Aschen's mind. "De LandwƤchter standts reddi, ve vill die vif glory."

The three vessels seemed to simply appear over the planet below, had one not been watching one'd barely have noticed their arrival. The three were part of the new vanguard of the Hegemony's navy, utilizing the new technologies bestowed upon them by their Erutin allies, they were able to traverse any distance in but a few moments, save that they had the proper coordinates. Three destroyers were what had arrived and the triangular vessels, though on a course to inspect the planet, had not yet powered their weapons, being that there was no sign, as their senors read, that there were any known hostile vessels in the area.

However, their sensors did read that the planet below was populated, and as the scouting group had reported, it was buzzing with energy. Of what kind, the LandwƤchter detachment had yet to ascertain, and so they continued to probe the world below with their sensors, curious as to its nature.

The bridges of the destroyers were abuzz with activity with the activation of, what they figured to be, weapons on the planet below, obviously a logical conclusion due to their silent arrival. The communications officer on the primary vessel, the Relentless, reported to his superiors of a communication originating from the world below, awaiting further instructions. The captain, being the true commander of the vessel, was allowed by the residing LW official, Matthias, to engage in communication. Matthias, as skilled as he was, wasn't a very good first impression, especially since his failure on Terra. The captain, a middle aged man who rather looked the part, responded as cordially as he could, apologizing for their sudden arrival,

"This is captain Daimler of His Imperial Majesty's Interstellar Vessel Relentless, and we apologize for our sudden arrival. Our new drives aren't the most predictable, and we didn't mean to alarm."

The response wasn't immediate, the captain conversing with Matthias before making his moves in this diplomatic game. Already in a stance of parade rest, the captain, clad in the trappings of his office, replied, "An understandable move, as are we. But, to answer your question-"

"We were curious. Your world emits an energy signature we have rarely seen outside of rare situations." Matthias interrupted the captain, and he had every right to being commander of the expedition, and his stress on the last words showed that the last time wasn't the most pleasant experience. "And we assure you, sir, that we have only the best at heart. Our weapons are inert and our shields lowered, and now that we see that you aren't..." He trailed off for a moment, hesitant to discuss such matters without outsiders, "That you are a reasonable man, perhaps we could speak in a more personal manner."

Matthias paused, the foreign leader's question catching him by surprise. He had to remember that they were no longer in the Cluster, but in Home. Thinking of the best response he could word, he replied, "It is no trouble. I am Matthias Rueger, emissary of the LandwƤchter, guardians of the regent and His name, blessed may it be." Pausing for a moment, having made the symbol of the triad over his breast, Matthias continued, his head returning to an upright position with such force that his dagger jingled against its carrier slightly, "We represent the Hegemony of Aligned Systems, united under the banner of our immortal lord, Josef Kampf."

The question regarding the 'rare situations' was one that any citizen of the Hegemony, if they knew their history, could pick out at any time. He, of course, was referring to the Aboraz, creatures that dwelt in the murky depths of the Cluster's gas giants capable of unimaginable power. "We waged quite a war against a race whose planets mimicked the sensor that your world gives off. We wanted to be sure that they hadn't arrived here."

Sharing in his laugh, Matthias engaged in something that was rare from him, and it showed. Laughter didn't come naturally to him, his training made sure of that. Bowing in return, rather graciously, as he was addressing what would rank as a superior, Matthias returned to his upright position and proceeded to salute in the typical Belkan manner, his right arm maintaining the rigid, iconic pose for only a moment. "A pleasure to make contact, sir. Would you be opposed to a meeting in person, on your world?"

The Belkans acknowledged the communications, and from the central vessel five craft could be seen descending - a dropship and four fighters in escort. Descending to the planet below, they made their way gradually to the designated area, and as the four fighters flew a defensive pattern around the pad the dropship sat down. The ramp of the vessel descending moments thereafter, a squad of armored men emerging from the orifice. Being met with troops that seemed oddly familiar to themselves, the marines looked to each other and arrayed themselves in a defensive pattern around the ramp.

Slowly descending was Matthias, clad in his black dress uniform, his cybernetic eye dominated his facial features. He had failed his Lord, and now he was better equipped to deal with whatever might come in the future, though that didn't make the torture any less painful. With his aiguilette fluttering along with his greatcoat in the wind, he turned to what he believed to be the entrance to the place.

Following the soldier's initiative, Matthias returned the courtesy and motioned for his men to follow, eager to witness the grandeur of the Araxian civilization. Almost immediately it was present that they were experiencing issues with domestic dissent, graffiti had a way of betraying that. That wasn't to say that there wasn't any back in the Hegemony, just that it was kept under much tighter wraps.

Following the path designated by the soldier, Rueger and his entourage proceeded to the top of the stairs before them, standing in what would've been the shadow of a rather magnificent building. Entering quickly, Matthias and his men, who had now slung their weapons, soon awaited further directions to meet with the Araxian leader.

Saluting his host, Matthias raised his right hand into the air, snapping the heel irons of his jackboots together before dropping the hand back to his side and removing his own headgear - a black gabardine peaked cap. His guards, thirteen men, organized into formation behind him, and after coming to attention, dropped to a state of parade rest. Rueger, after watching to make sure that they performed adequately, gestured to a seat before him, asking, "May I, sir?"

ā€œIf you wouldnā€™t mind, sir, Iā€™d be delighted.ā€ Taking the seat that was offered, Matthias made sure that his dagger didnā€™t disturb the aural setting in any way, and, once situated, looked to his host. Waiting for him to finish, as was proper, he leaned forward in his seat, not wanting to seem like he considered this meeting a light one. ā€œYou must forgive me sir, I donā€™t know your proper title.ā€ His apology was sincere, if not monotone, as most things were with Matthias. His cybernetic eye glowing an odd hue of yellow, blending almost into a shade of ochre, giving him an almost inhuman quality.

Matthias Rueger thanked the woman silently, nodding graciously as she left him his beverage. She looked to be of average stock, fair in her own, proletarian way. Turning back to his host, the High Emperor, he took a sip of the drink that he'd attained, rather curious to explore the flavor. He could tell as he partook that his gaze had fallen behind him, his augmented eye analyzing all his brain could stand in the room while he maintained his nonchalant front. "It was, High Emperor, save for disturbances of only an aesthetic nature." One could tell that Wyl cared little for the dissenters, and thus Matthias spoke, "I hope the issues isn't too serious, sir."

"A wise move, certainly... and many have and still are." Nodding to himself, he was rather taken with the drink, the initial bitterness having provided a nice contrast with the eventual sweet flavor. Setting it down with a soft clink, which seemed rather unsuited for the man, he continued, "We see less of it in the Hegemony, I believe. That's not to say you're doing a poor job, Emperor Wyl, just that we have had little choice over the centuries."
