His tucked neatly into his front pockets, the muscles in his arms slightly relaxed as he perplexed them forwards from his sides, Michael (commonly known as Mike or Mikey) meandered his way down the city street. Seemed somewhat barren to him, or maybe it was just the peacefulness that he hadn't been able to enjoy in such a time. Grey irises scanned the area tentatively, absorbing every detail and fragment of existence around him. Nearing a street corner, he paused, leaning his shoulder against the street post in light-hearted thought.
Sighing softly to himself as he determined it wasn't exactly the best place for quiet and serious thought, Michael straightened then turned on his heel, continuing to meander his way carelessly along the sidewalk, his hands still pressed into his pockets. "So, very... lost." He mumbled to himself carelessly, the phrase having multiple meanings. Gazing up a moment, his tussled hair just barely grazing the edge of his brow, grey irises searched the area for some sign of life.
Glancing around curiously as a sudden female voice filed the air, one mixed with a vague amount of concern and fear. Hurrying his pace slightly, Michael rounded a corner in a dull search of the source of the voice, glancing around curiously as he flexed his fingers from within his pocket. True, he'd been practicing his bending lately, but he'd lost a small bit of touch with his more skilled ability over a time of unclarity.
Hearing a sudden shriek fill the eerie silence of the area he was in, he hurried up his pace along the sidewalk, a warm breath of air escaping his lips. A fight wasn't exactly what he was looking for, but if that's what was in his future then who was he to try and deny it? Someone was probably in trouble, he'd be damned if he just did nothing. The female voice grew relatively loud as he neared a corner, glancing to the side curiously. He picked the worst moment to do that, as he looked back forward again, his head cocked toward the ground, a girl came bolting around the corner from behind a building, colliding dead on into his chest. "Oomf." he grunted, stumbling back a step as he pulled his hands from his pockets to balance. "Easy there killer."
Taken slightly aback, he raised his arms in the slightest as he bit his lip. "Hey now d-.." He started to mutter as a familiar voice and person rounded the corner and whipped the girl back. Smirking at him, Mike offered a small wave. "Hello Xander, bit odd meeting you here." His accent hung thickly with every word. "Y'never told me you had siblings though. Interesting way to er, get introduced, aye?"
Raising a brow slightly, he looked at Xander with minimal question, tilting his head to the side as an insinuated "What's going on?" He waited a moment for Xander's reply, before shrugging his shoulder and swinging his foot around with a small hop-step backward. "Money aye? Most you owe me is about two dollars for that bet you lost a few weeks ago. Remember? I told you I could aim farther." He chuckled slightly. "Stubborn ass you are Xander, suppose that's why we get along though." Pausing, he glanced to the girl tucked against Xander's side, who had been identified as Meli. "Anyway, as your brother here said, I'm Michael, or as he likes to call me Mike."
"Nah dun worry about it mate." He replied easily, crossing his arms behind his back. He eyed the two for a moment, guessing uncertainly at what it was they were discussing, then glanced around the area, grey irises scanning like hawks. He finally landed his gaze surprisingly to meet Melissa's, as she addressed him in a soft tone. "You too." He offered pleasantly, glancing back up at Xander. "So, what're you doing around in the shaft end of the city anyway?"
Blinking, Mike stared between the two for a moment of indecision. "Y'know, Xander I think the girlie's right. No sense having to whip out a ray of heat on anyone right now." He said with a small wink, then turned on his heel. "'Nless you feel up to it?" He added over his shoulder with a smirk and tint to his voice.
"Fat chance boy-o." Mike snarked, glancing over his shoulder with a smirk. "I was thinking about learning something new." He said insinuatingly, glancing up at the sky. "What d'you think Xander?" He'd been a Sensai for a long time, increasing his title was definitely one of his top goals, though to do so required much more advanced ability with his bending. Even though most Firelords had never bent lightning, the danger of the element highly deadly on even the first attempt, Mike had always been fascinated by it.
Turning slightly, Mike watched the two with minor concern, furrowing his brow slightly. "So.. erm.. Where to anyway?" He pondered aloud, glancing to Meli first, for it was she who had suggested leaving in the first place. "I'm new to these parts."
Shrugging, Mike nodded slightly before facing frontways again to continue walking. "Sounds fine to me." He said swiftly in reply to Xander, sliding his hands back into his pockets. Glancing out the corners of his eyes at the sudden tag along by his side, Mike smiled a tiny bit. "No miss. I'm from Britain, Rushcliffe, Britain."
Grimacing slightly, he shook his head. "Heavens no. England is a part of Great Britain, Britain for short. Same island y'see, but England's more or less part of the UK. There's a difference between English and British y'see." He explained rather pointedly and carefully.
Smirking, he shrugged slightly. He knowledge of the U.S. was fairly limited being as he'd missed nearly all of his schooling when he'd run away from home so many years ago. "I suppose so, if that's the equivalent then. See there's an isle in the UK islands called Britain, that's where I'm from." Glancing over his shoulder as Xander, he pulled a hand from his pocket and focussed a moment, playfully tossing a spit of flame past his ear. "Knock it off you, now where are we going?"
He chuckled softly a moment, pushing Xander to the side with a playful roll of his eyes. "Bit of a distance you chose don't y'think Xander?" He pondered teasingly, casting a quick glance to the side at Meli. He shook his head as he faced forward with a gentle smile, speeding up his steps a bit to get ahead of the other two. The sky looked to be darkening as evening began to fall, though subtle hints of clouds were there too. If it began to rain later on, it would make for the perfect time that he could slip off to the side to try and work out a new skill.
"Sky looks a bit iffy there Xander, what'd you guess the forecast to be?" He inquired lightly, turning a corner slowly as he tucked his hands deeper into his pockets. The air was getting cooler slowly, not exactly something he favored. Naturally, his body heat was higher than the average person, simply for being a firebender but more or less because he was a more advanced level. Cold air didn't agree with him, not even in the slightest.
Glancing over his shoulder curiously at the two, he nodded. "Well then, I suppose we should hurry up now shouldn't we?" He replied quickly with a hidden excitement. He wasn't exactly sure how long they'd been walking or how much farther they had to go, but he assumed Xander would say something when they were close enough by to the warehouse he'd mentioned.
Standing in the doorway to the warehouse as he watched the rain and the sky, he counted down the seconds between claps of thunder, timing it carefully in his mind as he watched the lightning streaks occasionally glow. "Xander." He called over his shoulder casually. "I was thinking of something, something I want to do."
Glancing over his shoulder for a moment, he shook his head at the other male, sill in moderate thought. "Haven't seen her since she went upstairs." He replied quietly, returning his gaze to the outdoors as he took a step a forward. "I want to try it. There's only like, ten firebenders in history who could do it. God, that'd be amazing." He added softly with a smirk stepping out through the door into the rain.
"Xander there's a lot of problems with any sort of bending, obviously lightning is uh, well a bit less survivable with mistakes, but I'm sure I could do it. I mean the first step is redirection, right?" He mumbled, gently pulling away from his friends grasp. The water pouring down as if dumped by a giant bucket nonstop was cool against his exposed arms, causing a small shiver to trail up his spine. Glancing up to the sky as he awaited another strike of lightning, his jaw dangled open. "What...the... bloody hell?"
Lurching back to life as he turned to glance up in the direction of Xander's voice, he noticed a light blue ray far off in the distance of the sky. Somehow though, this storm seemed more like an oncoming tornado or hurricane. His longing to try lighting bending would simply have to wait. Rounding on his heel, he hurried back into the warehouse building, up the stairs and fire escape as he was called to do. Stepping out onto the roof his eyes widened with indescribable emotions. Unlike Xander, back when he was still in the UK, he'd managed to find himself a few elders of the elements, milking them of whatever information he could get. Unsteadily, he reached a hand out and shook Xander's shoulder. "Xander.." He muttered. "As.. rare... as it is, you've got to stop her, now."
