Natalie Elisabeth Schultz

"Socializing is not necessary for happiness or national security. Neurotypicals wouldn't have made advancements in technology or sociopolitical thought without autistic fixation without the distraction of small talk or socializing."

OOC Notes:

1.) In real life, if you are Autistic or know someone who is Autistic, and you would like a copy of the emergency disclosure card, a blank copy of this wallet card can be found at the Asperger's Association of New England's website in PDF format with instructions. (It has the word "Asperger's" on it.) AANE is an organization based in Watertown, Massachusetts. The content of this wallet card was developed in large part by Dennis Debbaudt, who has an adult Autistic son and is a professional investigator and law enforcement trainer. Dennis has authored or co-authored over thirty articles and books since 1993, including Autism, Advocates and Law Enforcement Professionals: Recognizing and Reducing Risk Situations for People with Autism Spectrum Disorders and an article on "Law Enforcement Encounters with People with Autism" for the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin's April 2001 issue. He regularly travels throughout the United States and abroad to provide seminars for law enforcement and first responders. Dennis's website is here. (I've met him, and he's a great person.)

2.) In the Multiverse, Natalie Schultz was murdered in early May 2011 by Conumbra's character Blackjack. Thus, if you witness me roleplaying while using this character, the scene is not connected with the Multiverse and should be construed as occurring outside the accepted canon of Multiversal events. This character is drawn from my second (of five) novels, where she is one of the two protagonists.

OBITUARY FOR MURDER VICTIM NATALIE SCHULTZ
C. M. Schwartz

Natalie Elisabeth Schultz, forty-one, of Caprica City, Langara, died on 12 May 2011 in the Gobi Desert. Natalie was born on 28 October 1970 in Lexington, Massachusetts in the United States to H. Rudolf and Mara Schultz. She was a student at Schule Schloss Salem in Salem, Baden-Württemberg in Bundesrepublik Deutschland, where she was a member of the graduating class of 1983.

Natalie earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Bachelor of Arts in Near Eastern Studies from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in the United States, where she was a member of the graduating class of 1987. She earned a Master of Arts in Psychology from Johns Hopkins University in 1989. Natalie earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology from Stanford University in Stanford, California in the United States in 1994, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Physics from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York in the United States in 1999.

Natalie was a Special Agent of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1994 to 2010. During her career, she worked in organized crime, cyber crime, and counterterrorism. As a Supervisory Special Agent, Natalie led the squad dedicated to the apprehension of Hataf terrorists and former Hataf leader Tahira Ali Almontaser. She spent time in New York City, Kabul, Baghdad, Islamabad, and Washington D.C. Natalie was awarded the FBI Medal of Valor in 1998 and the FBI Medal for Meritorious Achievement in 2009. In 2010, Natalie transferred laterally to the Aschen Confederation Langaran Defense Agency, where she continued her work to neutralize Hataf. She spent time in Caprica City and Wing City.

Natalie belonged to the Masjid Al-Salaam, the United Congregational Church, and the Ohev Shalom Temple in Washington D.C. She made regular contributions to the Asperger's Association of New England in Watertown, Massachusetts and the American Physics Society in College Park, Maryland.

Natalie was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, Savant Syndrome, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Attention Deficit Disorder. She memorized the dictionary by the age of five, and memorized the Bible in Aramaic and Greek at ten years old. Natalie struggled through elementary school and high school, and made few friends throughout college. Despite her numerous challenges, Natalie's strengths allowed her to learn nine languages fluently and a place in the American intelligence community.

Natalie is survived by her daughter, Sofia Antonucci, of Washington D.C., and her mother, Mara Schultz, of Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is predeceased by her father, H. Rudolf Schultz.

A service was held in Caprica City on Langara, officiated by the Kobollian clergy and presided by George Montgomery III, Director of the Langaran Defense Agency.

Natalie Elisabeth Schultz's Story

# Gambit's Bar, 2009-08-22 18:18:05, as a chat transcript.
For some reason she couldn't quite recall, Natalie had been told to go to Gambit's Bar. The place resembled everything she imagined a bar would be--unpleasant, mired in the stench of smoke, beer, and unwashed bodies, and full of citizens and denizens carrying on their conversations. A few, she noticed, had swords.

She looked over at Vivian. "Count me in," Natalie said.

((ha ha))

Natalie slunk back into the smoke and ruckus, strangely disappointed to be unnoticed by the woman with the empty seat. It shouldn't have bothered her at this point, but, as much as she was unwilling to admit it, it did.

Natalie stared at the sword. "It appears scientific research is true," she chirped to no one in particular. "The use of a sword is still commonplace in certain areas and in certain cultural traditions, as opposed to more conventional weapons, such as guns, grenades, and bombs. Why do you happen to have a sword?" This question was directed to the swordswoman.

Natalie waited politely, but no answer was forthcoming. Typical of others. She walked up to the bar and plopped with a sigh onto one of the few empty stools, signaling for the bartender.

"Do you have any Pepsi here?"

Natalie Elisabeth Schultz sipped her Pepsi slowly, trying to decide if she should speak to anyone. Anyone about anything. Suddenly, she saw an android like figure running from the bar, seeming in panic mode. "Hey!" Natalie shouted. "Hey you!"

But then he was gone, and Natalie was left standing quite foolishly in the middle of the bar. Unsure of what to do next, never having stepped foot in a bar before, she found an empty table near the very back, pushed up near the kitchen door, and sat down, the seat old and broken in at least one place. Hopefully, someone would join her.

Natalie Elisabeth Schultz waited a while, until the Pepsi was completely gone. Then, she walked over to the nearest recycling receptacle and tossed it in at a perfect 45 degree angle, watching until it made contact, and then leaving the bar, forgetting whatever reason she had for coming in the first place.

(( I have to go. Huge RL emergency. ))

Natalie Elisabeth Schultz stepped lightly into the bar through the front door, her eyes instantly assessing the others inside. She noticed a man lying on the floor, and then heard the sound of flesh against flesh as another woman clocked him in the head. Not her business, she supposed, and sat herself on an empty stool.

She called for the bartender. "Excuse me? Bartender?"

"Bartender? I'm thirsty!" Natalie whined.

Natalie glared at Anemone, clearly a psychotic type. Then she returned her gaze to the bartender. "I'm THIRSTY!" she shouted.

She watched the others and decided that it was far to psychotic, and perhaps perilous to her health and wellbeing, to remain inside the bar. Natalie stood with a humph and stalked out of the bar. She had never gotten her drink.

Natalie Elisabeth Schultz "So what classes may I choose from?" she said to John, only dimly aware of his presence at this point.

Tahira Ali "The djinn were created before man," said Tahira Ali. "Some we call angels, and some demons. They have free will, just as man does." She shrugged. "The ones of which you speak were immortalized in the tale of Aladdin and the Lamp." Tahira Ali let her gaze rest at a point just beyond Terraa's shoulder, her eyes once again expressionless as her features smoothed out, to reveal a neutral expression not unlike the one in her likeness hanging on the other side of the bar.
