Energy manipulation-He has the ability to absorb, manipulate, and channel all kinds of energy. He can also redistribute energy, or place it in others for a variety of results.

His ability allows him to absorb energy through his body, With this absorbed energy, he can enhance his own powers. For example, when shot at with a gun, He is able to absorb the kinetic energy of the bullet speeding at him, causing it to stop and fall in mid-air. He then found he was able to run really fast after absorbing the energy of the bullet. Also, on more than one occasion, he has absorbed the heat energy of hot objects, such as a steaming kettle, which caused his skin to become extremely hot to touch.

He is also able to dispose of his absorbed energy into matter, causing that matter to experience the same effects of the energy as the user did. His preferred method of getting rid of his energy is to dispose of it into the air, although he has also channeled kinetic and heat energy into ice cubes to melt them. He has also recharged various electronic devices with electrical energy.

He is capable of absorbing more than one type of energy at once.

Known Energies Absorbed

Nick has been known to absorb the following types of energy and manipulate them to produce different kinds of effects:

-Kinetic energy, channeled into super speed and enhanced reflexes.
-Heat energy, channeled into increased body temperature and fire.
- Elastic energy, channeled into elasticity.
-Gravitational energy, channeled into gravitational manipulation and limited flight.
-Nuclear energy, channeled into induced radioactivity.
-Electrical energy, channeled into lightning.
- Psychic energy, channeled into telekinesis.
-Solar energy manipulation might be converted into stamina within a person or even to produce usable electricity as a power source.
-Electromagnetic energy might be converted to produce light, x-rays or even cook food like a microwave. It is a form of radiation but slightly different in uses than straight radiation.
- Chemical energy- He can steal chemical energy and can use this to kill others
-Radiation manipulation (radiogenesis) is an ability that allows for generating an EMP, ultraviolet, nuclear or various other types of radiation.
-Magnetic Energy- Can be used for various reasons such as attracting metal

-Variable Energy Blasts: Nick can generate light, heat, force, and electricity or really any form of energy in the form of powerful blasts. He generated these blasts from his hands as well as his eyes.

-Flight: Nick is able to fly and levitate using his powers. He is capable of interstellar flight (adding more energy to become increasingly fast, presumably sub-light or light speed).

-Solid Energy Constructs/Simulated Telekinesis: Nick could solidify his energy into force-fields and other shapes. The effect of his energy constructs could be used to simulate a form of telekinesis by lifting and moving objects.

-Energy Disruption: Nick is able to manipulate energy even if it did not originate from him.

-Power Suppression: Nick can apparently use his powers to override those of another person's aura, making them temporarily unable to use them.

-Energy Detection: Capable of detecting energy signatures from great distances. This included other evolved humans with energy powers and ships that use energy as a power supply.

-Energy Self-Sustenance: He also appeared capable of breathing in space. Though this ability seemed to be limited, as if he didn't rest or find power other then his own, his reserve will leave him seemingly depleted until he did. Also shown capable of regenerating from seemingly mortal injuries by manipulating the energy his body is composed of.

Appearance: Nick has dark brown hair, but lighter hair on the lower part of both sides of his head. He has dark brown eyes and has fairly normal skin. He has an average body build, height, and weight for a man of his age. He has normal sized ears nose, and his hair is slightly spiky. It is wavy as well and he has scars on the palms of his hands. He has no other major damage done to his body and usually wears casual clothing.

Personality: Nick is a comedian and loves making others laugh. He takes everything lightly even things like there's a murderer on the loose. Although he takes things lightly he is not an idiot in any way, nor he is he extremely intelligent either. He has an average intelligence level and enjoys using his powers. He thinks having powers is fun and often fools around with them. Due to the fact he fools around with his abilities this can often lead him to causing chaos. Although he acts irresponsible with his powers, he will not actually use them to commit crimes and he will always attempt to help someone in trouble. During his last moments it's shown he was quite heroic, sacrificing his life to save the citizens of Las Vegas.

History
Nick Vinel was born in Costa Verda, California, were he was raised with his parents, two sisters, and younger brother. He often got into arguments with his siblings for the first five years of his life and wanted to work with cars. By the time he was seven he got into comics his favorite comic book series being Ghost Rider. By the time he was ten some kids bullied him and ripped us his comics. For the first time ever he used his powers using kinetic energy to run away at super speed and get lost. He was lost for several months, until he was found dying of starvation. He was fed and recuperated.

By the time he was twelve his powers continued to manifest, so he would sometimes absorb electricity in class and when he was scarred of taking a test, he caused a blackout by absorbing all the electricity in the city. He went to his sisters for advice and they helped him learn to use his powers. For the next three years by the time he was sixteen his relationship with his sisters had improved, he was more immature though, and he had control over his energy absorbing and manipulating. Then he began to manifest pure energy as he created an energy shield to survive a car crash with no wounds and his family was also protected.

Nick told his little brother Carl about his powers and hid them from his parents, and he stayed in contact with his sisters once they left to college. he was able to visit them often when he absorbed solar or kinetic energy. Eventually however The Company came after him and he managed to escape them. They chased him, captured him, marked him, and had Haitan take some of his memories. Nick had also revealed his powers to his parents and they helped him. He planned to be a professional daredevil, and the hunt for evolved humans began during summer vacation. He was captured and placed on Flight 195. Thanks to Peter Petrelli, he managed to escape and saved tons of evolved humans from the fall with his energy shields. He began to search for Peter, and with his family's help stayed hidden till the hunt was over. After that he headed to Arlington, Virginia so he could go to College.

After coming to college he met Claire Bennet and Magix two who suspected he was with the Company and avoided him. He became quite popular in college, and later Claire & Magix set up a trap to kill him. He was forced to fight both of them and Jackie's maddened father Jake out to kill Claire to avenge her father. Eventually Magix teleported everyone to Vegas, and once there he sacrificed himself to save Las Vegas from a giant shadow attack. Arthur at the last minute came to absorb Nick's power, which is the real reason the shadows managed to kill him. Recently Angela Petrelli stated he was in Pinehearst's custody.
