Release the hounds.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Moonscar

Description

Image

The image belongs to Loish on DA.

Age: Unknown

Gender: Female

Appearance: With bobbed black hair and chocolate skin, Nikka is known as one of the smaller denizens of Wing City. She has large brown eyes and dark lips. She dresses plainly, but not poorly. It seems that the expression on her face rarely changes from a slightly worn, if alert expression, one not of joy nor sadness. Her eyes are often occupied, but looking anywhere else but at someone else's face. She is youthful in body, but, again, her eyes seem to betray it.

Weapons:

A slingshot.

Magic:

The Hounds
Eight summons that Nikka can create. Each hound has a different purpose, and though she uses magic to summon them, not all hounds are strictly of magic themselves.

  1. Ghost Hound (Weimaraner) - Used as a tracker and a spy, the Ghost Hound can allow Nikka to see through its eyes. It can slip through solid objects and cause anomalies to occur. Though not the strongest of the hounds, this dog can pack a nasty bite.

  2. Hell Hound (Rottweiler) - Though not literally from hell, the Hellhound, consumed by darkness, smoke, and fire, might as well have been the pet of Hades himself. One of the stronger hounds of the seven, this dog operates with offence only.

  3. Ore Hound (Bull Terrier) - Like its name suggests, this dog can move and manipulate ore. It is one of the strongest hounds she has under her power.

  4. Dart Hound (Borzois) A hound with a crossbow-esque weapon across its back, used to fire small projectiles, not dissimilar to arrowheads, from a distance of about a mile away. It has two modes, one for sniping, one for scatter shots with a machine gun.

  5. Split Hound (Mudi) Also known as the Pack Hound, this dog has the ability to split itself into nine others, used to herd a target into a certain area or to swarm them.

  6. Nightmare Hound (Doberman) Turns into the target's worst fear or into a grotesque monster.

  7. Gale Hound (Husky) Like its name suggests, it can conjure horrible storms and control the storm effects, such as lightning.

  8. Greyhound (Greyhound) A joke on Nikka's part, for it is the transport hound, a slick, large greyhound that can run vast distances swiftly.

So begins...

Nikka winced when she was hit with the water, throwing up her hands to ward off the rest of the water.
"Wait..." She spat, wiping her face with her arms. "How long did you intend to do this? And how? I just want an answer."
Yanni looked at Nikka curiously, but she shook her head.
"We have young ones, small children. Tell me again, how were you planning to help us with that power?"

"How many people can you move at one time?" Nikka was serious now. Her gaze was firmly fixed onto Felix. She took a step toward him, boot thumping loudly on the wooden floorboards.

Yanni just sighed, slumped into a chair, and gave Nikka a tired look.
"Felix, I'm awfully sorry for the trouble."
"Yan!"
"Nikka, it can't be done, they will not accept his help, you know that."
Both women raised their eyes to Felix, one pair slightly insane, swooned from recent events, the other tired and apologetic, wishing for another solution.

There was a rustle in the trees, and Yanni snapped her head up, fearing the worst. She wasn't in any state to do battle, and nor was her ally.
But then, something glorious happened. Nikka, her guildmate, dropped down in front of her, crouching down with her elbows on her knees.
"Really screwed up this time, didncha?" She said with a smile.
Yanni furrowed her brow. "How-"
"I was following you, killed off the rest of the hounds. Thank me, Yan, ans tell your boyfriend to do the same when he wakes up."
Yanni rolled her eyes, "Why are you here?"
The other jewel witch threw down a few rolls of white bandages, a tube of medicine, and gave her a wink before she disappeared.

Nikka came in after Mr.Spine, a row of bottles filled with mysterious, flowing liquids and gases swirling within them. If one looked close enough, you might even see a face or two within them...
Of course, the witch barely noticed, herself. They were her tools, after all, and she was only concerned about the hole in the ground and getting to the counter so she could have a drink. She eyed the demons and Mr.Spine with venom, though it showed for only a second.
She wore a long red gown with layered skirts and a short-sleeved top, a matching hat atop her head. Her brown hair lapped over her shoulders and slid down her back as she walked.

As Nikka had gotten to the counter, she ordered a drink and some bread. She'd been walking all day and hadn't eaten very much. She sat down, ate, and drank, all the while keeping an eye on Mr.Spine, one of her long, thin brows arching up as she observed the little demons worked away at the hole. "And what would you be doing there, sir?" She called out. She wasn't afraid of demons, or whatever he was, but she didn't have the friendliest past with them.

"Excavating for what, exactly?" She asked, laying her head upon the back of her hand, allowing her hair to fall over her shoulders. She heard whispering in her ear, and flickered her eyes over to watch Senestrous as she entered, but her eyes did not linger.
That was a bad thing to allow eyes to do.
"I'm really just curious. Not everyday you see someone excavating in the middle of a bar floor."
She reached for one of her vials, holding it in her hand for comfort. It hummed gently in her fingers.

"Concrete, a ladder, and an elevator. Sounds like you're making a whole new community down there. Or something." She said, taking a bite of her buttered bread.
Oh, what love! Food was such a wonder, such a thing to take bliss in!
She closed her eyes for a moment and sighed, one of the grey, misty vials still in one hand as she ate.
"Do you intend to construct some type of living or working space? I won't say anything about a job until I know what's going on."

"And what says, sir," Nikka began, stuffing the last of the buttered bread into her mouth and quickly eating it, ", that even if you can trust me, that I can trust you? I've never seen you before in my life." She said. Though...she would be needing money, wouldn't she? Very soon, because the assassination jobs were all out. Didn't usually pay enough, either.
And she wanted to shop for some dresses.
She really wanted more.
"I might consider it if I trusted you. You seem to be..." She eyed the demons warily. "...a bit, um...different, from the normal bunch of workers."

Nikka was almost glad for the slight bitterness she thought she caught in Mr.Spines voice.
Ironically, it made him sound more human.
Also, she was getting unnerved by that monotone drawl she thought she also caught in his voice. She liked it when people showed their emotions for many reasons, and to find weakness was one of them.
She extended her hand to take the business cards, reading them with increasing interest. "I bet a spirit witch would be right up your alley, then." She told him. She had elemental spirits, though they were not her favorite to use. They did come in handy, however, and a rock spirit could haul dirt easy.
"How much do you pay, exactly?"

Nikka paused to think this over, as well. She didn't necessarily hate demons...she had encountered many different ones, though the majority proved to be quite vicious.
Though, this one here didn't seem all that bad. He wasn't an incubus, that much she was sure. And she was glad for it.
She hated those buggers.
She almost looked as if she chewed on the idea, the same way she was chewing on the buttered bread. Mmm. Buttered bread.
"How binding is the contract? Magical, at all?"

Nikka wheeled her chair around, very much favoring the idea of working for this...man demon. The male one. Yes. Mr.Spine.
She kind of liked his attitude. And at the same time, she didn't. Her emotions conflicted. She waved back to the bartender and yelled out, "One hot apple cider, willya?"
She had enough coins to spare.
She looked over the bar, eyes skimming over Nolan, the seemingly normal human; Jared, the waterpician she'd heard about, and Sylver, the drow.
"Interesting crowd tonight." She muttered to herself.

"Thank you." Nikka said as she took the apple cider. She was, of course, a woman, a female, in any and every respects, so she really wouldn't have been sure why Altheda couldn't see any other women.
It was slightly odd. But Nikka didn't know this, of course.
She would have warned Jared and Nolan about breaking the fourth wall. Which was a little bit against the rules. Just a tiny bit. Really.
She yawned and took a sip of her cider, enjoying the warmth and the taste. "Ah! How glorious food and drink can be!" She sighed.

Nikka looked over to spot Altheda, taking another long sip of her apple cider. She felt the warm liquid fill her mouth and hummed in delight.
"Hello, yourself." She said as the woman with the veil came over.

Nikka patted the seat next to her, indicating that Altheda may sit. "Sure, have a seat! It'd be nice to have a little company! Want some cider? It's a bit chilly, being almost winter, and all!" She chimed happily.
Ah, yes, company. This was good.

"Hmm. Well, hard cider is, but simple apple cider..." She bekoned the bartender over and ordered another cup of cider. "It's on me!" She called back, because having money made one want to spend.
And she was getting more soon. Oh, the joy of money!
She then spotted Jared coming over, and grinned up at him. "Hey, there." She said, playing with the spirit vial in her fingers. She then was interrupted by two more people. One was Rekaze, who sent a wind going through the bar that caused her skirt to flutter. She grabbed the front in a very Marlyn Monroe fashion and let out a gasp.
Then, another. Violet.
After she got over the initial shock, she greeted her.
"Oh, hello, there..."

Nikka looked down at Altheda and pursed her lips. "Err..." She mumbled, noting the woman seemed a bit uncomfortable around the two. "Well, lets have a drink, shall we?" She said to Altheda. She got the apple cider and gave it to her.
"I'm Nikkara, or Nikka, if you please." She said, introducing herself. She gave a look to Jared and Rekaze.
"Boys." She said flatly.

Nikka looked a bit nervously between Rekaze and Jared. She pointed to the demon, "You just tried to lift my skirt, even if it wasn't purposeful." She said, though she pulled up the skirt to show the pair of shorts she wore under them. "Though, it really wouldn't have mattered."
She then felt a whispering in her ear, then bared her teeth.
"I really must go! Goodbye, pretties!" She said in a farewell. "Good luck with the men, miss!"
Ans she was off in a flurry of wind and Autumn leaves.

Nikka came into Gambits, her blue, knee-length gown flowing behind her. She wore a scarf upon her neck and a baggy hat upon her head. She hummed a soft, cheerful song, hips swinging gently as she danced a bit to the counter. Oh, what promise food carried! It smelled of sweet buttered bread and hot apple cider!
As she did a small twirl, walking past Siren, the handsome man with the huge sword, her scarf and her long, brown braid circled around her briefly before she sat herself on a stool. Around her waist was a belt, and attached to it many vials, all swirling with some strange mist, or fog, or somesort. Why, if one looked hard enough, you could even see a face...

Nikka waved down any current bartender and asked for a plate of buttered bread and a mug of hot apple cider. She fixed the scarf around her neck and licked her lips at the thought of such delicious, warm food and drink...ah, it was her favorite around this wintry time!
She briefly took in account the rogue siren and the man that held the same name, but did so in a very nonchalant manner, tapping her fingers on the counter and humming excitedly to herself.

Nikka stretched out her arm to take the mug of cider, all the while with ears perked for Siren's and the sirens' conversation.
Interesting. Snogging. Which really wasn't interesting, but a man with a giant sword ought to have some amusing stories.
Even if they were only a little amusing.
And she didn't really have company, either, so she needed something to do while she ate and drank. She was about to take a bite of her bread when that blasted wind knocked about the walls and lifted up the skirt she was wearing. She yelped, dropped her bread, and drew down her skirt as fast as she could.
Though, it was nearly too late. She turned back to glare at the culprit, Rekaze, who had already done the same thing the night before. She hadn't expected him a second time.
Then it happened again.
"For the second and third time!" She exclaimed. She stared daggers at the winged teenager. "Stop doing that!"
