Description

Theme Song:
Marionette Purple - Remmington's Theme

Age:
17

Role:
Human

Physical Description:
People have a hard time taking Remmington seriously. He doesn't blame them. Standing at 144cm tall, it's quite common for some to presume that he is but a child who speaks words he knows not about. Sapphire blue eyes seen behind round lenses suspended by a thin black frame seen above a curved smile that never seems to ease his lip muscles second only to a full head of golden Blonde hair, the overall assumption of a child's innocence remains with him at any time, a handsome face enough to make women want to pinch his cheeks.

Wearing a purple top hat plated with aluminum on the right half, he absolutely likes the color purple evident in his clothing. Wearing an indigo and white shirt and shorts, a cape of Royal Purple reinforces his favorite color to any who lay eyes on him. A characteristic oddity he wears is a large copper zipper slider, acting as a tie of some sort to connect his purple garment loftily upon his neck. Keeping the theme of appearing as a magician of some sorts, Remmington knows how to keep his audience on the edge with his always-changing personality.

Physical Appearance:
[Take this seriously...]

Personality:
Remmington can be best described as a few nuts and bolts short of a properly working machine. Son to the Alchemist Remelius Locke, he was a brilliant prodigy who studied the craft of miracles under the guiding hands of his father and mentor. Often his childish looks would impede any venture to take Remmington seriously, much to his annoyance in some way. Having been an educated mind even at a young age he acts mature for his own age, carefully observing formalities and etiquette that modern society often tries too hard to enforce. Though reserved and quiet to some degree, he often dons an outlandish purple hat and cape to reinforce the running theme of being a magician. Ever courteous, he is always seen smiling even when he is poised to strike the killing blow.

Herein lies another dimension in the young Alchemist. Remmington is very dependent upon his 'sister' the Magnum Opus, always claiming that she could speak to him in some way. Calling him insane or disputing the fact that the automaton is his sister would be met with fierce disapproval from Carl, a noticeable change form his deceiving facade. Even worse is the fact that he would not hesitate to use lethal force if he feels that his sister is threatened in any way, be it true or perceived.

Profession:
Though he does pride himself to be an Alchemist, a 'Worker of Miracles' , he does preform some magic tricks for the entertainment of some in the street corners to make everyday ends meet.

Family Members:
Remelius Locke - Father, the famed "Tinker of Maurcenia". Exiled himself and missing ever since.
Carla Strauss - Mother, the daughter of a humble Tailor. Succumbed to the Scarlet fever when Remmington was 5 years old.
Alicia Locke - Eldest daughter to Remelius and Carla. A sickly girl who died on the day the Magnum Opus was supposedly completed. Whether she really had lost her soul or not is up for debate, however.

Alchemical Emblem:

Equipment

Equipment #1
Alchemic automaton Magnum opus

Many dispute the possibility of a soul being given to a Machine. Granted these skeptics know not about the aptly named Automaton 'Magnum Opus' , the very first machine to ever posses a soul. However, many came to scorn the deed that Remelius Locke had done: the Automaton acted as any other machine would have. That and the fact that his daughter was a sickly girl whose death merely coincided with the creations of the Automaton. Humiliated and scorned, the creator of the Magnum Opus slowly faded into mockery and obscurity. But the machine itself had not.

Braced in the hands of his youngest son, Remmington Locke was determined to find his brother and to unlock the metal prison that kept his sister entrapped. Using the very same art his father harnessed to take away his beloved sister Rhea, he is determined to bring back his beloved sister, even if it meant shedding the blood of hundreds just to feel her loving embrace once more...

Less of the philosophical part and more on the practical end, the Magnum Opus is composed of a steel chasis, a titanium outer mantle and hat, arms composed of aluminum and an inner network composed of silicon. For the ascetics, the face is hand-crafted with fine silver, hair adorned with gold for added grandiose. The Magnum Opus traditionally ran on ethanol but is powered primarily by Remmington's fighting spirit though the automaton can gain more power from refueling with its native power source.

Equipment #2
The Hobbyhorse and Marionette

Immaturity is often frowned upon by society. To see a 'grown' young man, a prodigy at that still holding onto the toys he played with when he was but a child was very unnerving. But as with Remmington's experience in life, the hobbyhorse he holds now had long lost all of its innocence. Made of durable aluminum, the lightweight metal stick can be used offensively, much to a dangerous extent. Smeared with his own blood he is able to bend the stick to any form he chooses. Being an avid chess player, he is able to transform the hobbyhorse he holds into marionettes in the appearance of chess figures that he can use to attack with.

He can turn the Horse into the stalwart White Knight to strike at his enemies with its just lance, the Black Pawn to strike without falter or to fall back to refuge behind the towering Black Rook. Like a puppeteer in his theater he is able to swiftly change the form of the Hobbyhorse at will, keeping his audience in suspense for what deadly surprise might come out from behind the curtains.

Equipment #3
Metal Coat

Always hiding behind the figure of the Magnum Opus, Remmington knows that even the stalwart figure of the automaton might not always be there to defend him. At times when he knows he cannot be defended by his sister he must protect himself and the aluminum metal coat is a fine example of one such measure. To elaborate; the metal coat is composed of interlocking ring chainmail worn underneath his own clothing. Plates no thicker than 2 inches cover vital areas on the chainmail, notably his left chest where his heart is. The metal allows him to resist some damage to a certain degree, though most of the time he uses the Metal coat to bolster the power of his attacks by combining the metal masses of the Hobbyhorse and the Metal coat to enhance his attacks or fortify his defense.

Abilities

Alchemical Pact
A Visitor granted him the power he needed to fulfill his mission. Metals bend before his will, shaped like clay in the hands of the potter. Able to withstand the heat generated from the vibrations caused by his mere will he is able to bend metal to any form he desires, fueled only by his will to fight and limited only by what endurance he may have. All it takes is a simple emblem drawn out from his own blood to allow him to bend the metal to any shape he wishes and to allow it to retain its form by rapidly cooling the metal after being shaped.

As all deals are, this transaction is not one sided. Alchemy is said to be 'pure from inequity and pure of essence'.Remmington is afflicted by a strange malady that forbids him from sleeping or closing his eyes for rest, affecting his judgment day after day. However, this is only the 'pure from inequity' part of the pact. Every battle he is triumphant in, every battle he loses he is robbed of the precious memory he has of his sister and everyone he cares for. In the end, Remmington is no different compared to the Magnum Opus: a lifeless doll with no memories of love or fondly loving.

Metallurgy
Coming partly from noble blood, Remmington was fortunate to have a mentor by his side whenever his father was away doing his research and whatnot. The times he did not spend with his sister he spent in the library under the guiding wing of a scholar who guided him through his days learning about the craft that turns dreams into reality. Remmington's knowledge regarding metals, their properties and even their interactions with other metals or elements can be used to attain a sharper edge in battle. Whether it be from casting Magnesium into Water to create violet fires to fan out to his opponents to fusing Tin and Copper to form solid bronze, the extensive knowledge he has of the elements allows him to

Mind Link
While it is true that the Magnum Opus does have a soul in itself (Or as Remmington thinks),regardless of anyone's point of view, Remmington has a special link with the automaton, allowing him to sub consciously control or command the machine to his liking. When in mortal danger the Magnum Opus will stop taking orders from Remmington and will defend its host even to its destruction. Though synchronized in battle, the Synergy between the two is still in a rudimentary level, having only 58% efficiency when side by side.
